In this paper, we will give the definition of the pedal curves of frontals and investigate the geometric properties of these curves in the Euclidean plane. We obtain that pedal curves of frontals in the Euclidean plane are also frontals. We further discuss the connections between singular points of the pedal curves and inflexion points of frontals in the Euclidean plane.  相似文献

We study the automorphism and collineation groups of plane curves, i.e., in ?2, that are not necessarily smooth, and obtain bounds for these curves in terms of, their degree and the number of singularities. We study locally Cohen-Macaulay space curves lying on normal surfaces. We prove some theorems on the behaviour of the cohomology functions and initial ideals of such space curves, which give a basic distinction between those curves and curves lying on non-normal surfaces.

We describe a new application of algebraic coding theory to universal hashing and authentication without secrecy. This permits to make use of the hitherto sharpest weapon of coding theory, the construction of codes from algebraic curves. We show in particular how codes derived from Artin-Schreier curves, Hermitian curves and Suzuki curves yield classes of universal hash functions which are substantially better than those known before.  相似文献

We characterize bilipschitz homogeneous Jordan curves by utilizing quasihomogeneous parameterizations. We verify that rectifiable bilipschitz homogeneous Jordan curves satisfy a chordarc condition. We exhibit numerous examples including a bilipschitz homogeneous quasicircle which has lower Hausdorff density zero. We examine homeomorphisms between Jordan curves.

我们提出用分段三次Hermite插值曲线拟合统计直方图的新方法.先根据统计直方图的特点选取Hermite插值曲线在插值点处的导数值和可调整的插值点,然后根据面积约束确定调整值,从而得到拟合曲线.所得拟合曲线与统计直方图有面积相等的约束,并且拟合曲线是C1连续的光滑曲线.所给方法简单、实用.  相似文献

Locality and bounding-box quality of two-dimensional space-filling curves   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Space-filling curves can be used to organise points in the plane into bounding-box hierarchies (such as R-trees). We develop measures of the bounding-box quality of space-filling curves that express how effective different space-filling curves are for this purpose. We give general lower bounds on the bounding-box quality measures and on locality according to Gotsman and Lindenbaum for a large class of space-filling curves. We describe a generic algorithm to approximate these and similar quality measures for any given curve. Using our algorithm we find good approximations of the locality and the bounding-box quality of several known and new space-filling curves. Surprisingly, some curves with relatively bad locality by Gotsman and Lindenbaum's measure, have good bounding-box quality, while the curve with the best-known locality has relatively bad bounding-box quality.  相似文献

We study a flow of closed curves on a given graph surface driven by the geodesic curvature and external force. Using vertical projection of surface curves to the plane we show how the geodesic curvature-driven flow can be reduced to a solution of a fully nonlinear system of parabolic differential equations. We show that the flow of surface curves is gradient-like, i.e. there exists a Lyapunov functional nonincreasing along trajectories. Special attention is placed on the analysis of closed stationary surface curves. We present sufficient conditions for their dynamic stability. Several computational examples of evolution of surface curves driven by the geodesic curvature and external force on various surfaces are presented in this article. We also discuss a link between the geodesic flow and the edge detection problem arising from the image segmentation theory.  相似文献

We consider infinite-horizon variational problems on several spaces of curves. We establish relations between these problems and the properties of their solutions. Notably, we exhibit situations where optimality in a given space of curves implies optimality in a bigger space of curves. We work with a domain of definition of the Lagrangian which has a very general form and we provide assumptions to ensure a satisfactory theory of the necessary conditions of optimality. We find the exact exponent of summability of the Fourier transform of signed measures concentrated on differentiable curves of finite type. We study the behavior of oscillatory integral operators related to the Fourier transform of signed measures concentrated on curves. We present a simple and practical (1+ε)-approximation algorithm for the Fréchet distance between two polygonal curves in ? d . To analyze this algorithm we introduce a new realistic family of curves, c-packed curves, that is closed under simplification. We believe the notion of c-packed curves to be of independent interest. We show that our algorithm has near linear running time for c-packed polygonal curves, and similar results for other input models, such as low-density polygonal curves.  相似文献

We study rational curves on general Fano hypersurfaces in projective space, mostly by degenerating the hypersurface along with its ambient projective space to reducible varieties. We study the scaled Pythagorean-hodograph (PH) preserving mappings. These mappings make offset-rational isothermal surfaces and map PH curves to PH curves. We present a method to produce a great number of the scaled PH preserving mappings. We prove a theorem that characterizes continuous normed linear space-valued curves allowing differentiable parameterizations with non-zero derivatives as those curves, all the points of which are regular (in Choquet's sense). We also state an equivalent geometric condition not involving any homeomorphisms. We give a new method for generating genus 2 curves over a finite field with a given number of points on the Jacobian of the curve. We define two new invariants for genus 2 curves as values of modular functions on the Hilbert moduli space and show how to compute them. We relate them to the usual three Igusa invariants on the Siegel moduli space and give an algorithm to construct curves using these new invariants. Our approach simplifies the complex analytic method for computing genus 2 curves for cryptography and reduces the amount of computation required.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a system of geometric evolution equations describing a curvature-driven motion of a family of planar curves with mutual interactions that can have local as well as nonlocal character, and the entire curve may influence evolution of other curves. We propose a direct Lagrangian approach for solving such a geometric flow of interacting curves. We prove local existence, uniqueness, and continuation of classical Hölder smooth solutions to the governing system of nonlinear parabolic equations. A numerical solution to the governing system has been constructed by means of the method of flowing finite volumes. We also discuss various applications of the motion of interacting curves arising in nonlocal geometric flows of curves as well as an interesting physical problem of motion of two interacting dislocation loops in the material science.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate invariant curves of a planar mapping, which equivalently formulates a second-order difference equation modelled from macroeconomics. We construct all invariant curves in the linear case and prove the existence of invariant curves in the nonlinear case.
