Static characteristics of two different structured InAlGaAs/InAlAs superlattice avalanche photodiodes (SLAPDs) cooled by liquid nitrogen were evaluated at a wavelength of 1.5 μm. The dark current of the SLAPD having a thick superlattice layer of 0.504 μm was 5 × 10−13 A. This was successively reduced by four orders of magnitude compared to that of the thin layer SLAPD of 0.231 μm at a breakdown voltage of around 20 V. The thickened layer was effective in suppressing tunneling dark current. An output current of 1.7×l0−12 A at a bias voltage of 15 V was measured for an optical input with a wavelength of 1.5 μm and a signal power of 1 × 10−12 W. This showed a sharp distinction from the dark current.  相似文献

We model the resonant excitation transfer between semiconductor quantum dots, accounting for the radiative nature of the electromagnetic field. The model based on Maxwell equations and on a non-local linear susceptibility accounts both for the instantaneous dipole–dipole coupling, decaying as R−3, and for retardation effects, decaying as R−1. The coupling is strongly resonant and its spatial range is of the order of the wavelength, due to the radiative nature of the retarded contribution.  相似文献

Novel formulas of transmission functions are presented, some parameters are optimized, and transmission characteristics are analyzed for a polymer microring resonant wavelength multiplexer around the central wavelength of 1.55 μm with the wavelength spacing of 5.6 nm and with eight vertical output channels. The computed results show that the designed device possesses some excellent features including the 3 dB bandwidth of 0.25 μm, weaker background light of 3.8×10−4, smaller inserted loss of less than 0.6 dB, and lower crosstalk below −20 dB for every vertical output channel.  相似文献

We report on frequency doubling of cw ring-dye-laser radiation in lithium iodate crystals (LiIO3). The conversion coefficient and the matching angle were measured as a function of the fundamental wavelength in the range 586.3–624 nm. For Type I phasematching the matching angle m=90° for noncritical matching was found at 586.3 nm. At this wavelength the conversion coefficient reaches the maximum value which was observed to be as high as 1.6×10–2 W–1 for a LiIO3 crystal of 1 cm length. From the dependence of the matching angle on the wavelength the refractive induces were determined for the ordinary as well as for the extraordinary ray in the wavelength range from 293 nm up to 355 nm. The influence of focussing on the conversion coefficient is discussed.  相似文献

An optical method for directly measuring the thickness of a thin transparent film has been proposed by means of multi-wave laser interference at many incident angles, and confirmed experimentally by means of equipment made on an experimental basis. Two methods are available: one can be used when an index of refraction of the film, a wavelength λ, and two successive angles of incidence at which the sinusoidal light intensity has minimum values, are known (Method I), and another can be used without an index of film refraction when three successive angles of incidence and a wavelength are known (Method II). The smallest measurable thickness is 1.43λ for Method I, and 2.5λ for Method II. The largest measurable thickness is about 100λ for both methods. The measurement error by means of numerical calculation is Δh/h−1.01×10−2, and that obtained experimentally with an angular resolution of incident light of 0.3° is Δh/h7×10−2 for Method I. The refractive index can also be measured by means of Method II.  相似文献

In the experiments on 74Ge(d, pγ)75Ge, a 52.5±0.1 keV γ-ray was found in 75Ge with a half-life of 216±5 ns. From the analysis of the γ-ray spectra the conversion coefficient of the 52.5 keV γ-ray was determined. Then, a new level of is confirmed to exist at 192.5 keV. The reduced transition probabilities of the 52.5 keV transition are deduced to be (6.9+5.6 −2.1) × 10−5 for B(M1) and 31+3 −2 for B(E2) in Weisskopf units.  相似文献

A new technique has been used to search for solar axions using a single crystal germanium detector. It exploits the coherent conversion of axions into photons when their angle of incidence satisfies a Bragg condition with a crystalline plane. The analysis of approximately 1.94 kg.yr of data from the 1 kg DEMOS detector in Sierra Grande, Argentina, yields a new laboratory bound on axion-photon coupling of gαγγ < 2.7 × 10−9GeV−1, independent of axion mass up to 1 keV.  相似文献

The process e+e→W+Wγ is analysed using the data collected with the L3 detector at LEP at a centre-of-mass energy of 188.6 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 176.8 pb−1. Based on a sample of 42 selected W+W candidates containing an isolated hard photon, the W+Wγ cross section, defined within phase-space cuts, is measured to be: σWWγ=290±80±16 fb, consistent with the Standard Model expectation. Including the process , limits are derived on anomalous contributions to the Standard Model quartic vertices W+Wγγ and W+WZγ at 95% CL: −0.043 GeV−2<a02<0.043 GeV−2, −0.08 GeV−2<ac2<0.13 GeV−2, −0.41 GeV−2<an2<0.37 GeV−2.  相似文献

Far-infrared reflectivity spectra of Pb1−xMnxTe (0.0001x0.1) single crystals were measured in the 10–250 cm−1 range at room temperature. The analysis of the far-infrared spectra was made by a fitting procedure based on the model of coupled oscillators. In spite of the strong plasmon–LO phonon interaction, we found that the long wavelength optical phonon modes of these mixed crystals showed an intermediate one–two mode behavior.  相似文献

A novel bend-insensitive long-period fiber grating (LPFG) sensor written using focused CO2 laser pulses is demonstrated, for the first time, to our knowledge. It is found that the central wavelength shift of such a LPFG is only −0.018 nm even for a curvature of 1.1 m−1 at the most bend-insensitive position of the LPFG. Experimental results show that the bend sensitivity of the central wavelength of the LPFG has a periodic distribution along its circular directions. Such a bend-insensitive sensor could be used to solve the problem of cross-sensitivity between bend and other measurands, such as temperature, strain or refractive index, which is an unsolved problem for LPFG sensors in practice. In addition, the bend sensitivity of the LPFG can be adjusted by selecting its circular positions.  相似文献

Several elementary reactions of formyl radical of combustion importance were studied using pulsed laser photolysis coupled to transient UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy: HCO → H + CO (1), HCO + HCO → products (2), and HCO + CH3 → products (3). One-pass UV absorption, multi-pass UV absorption as well as cavity ring-down spectroscopy in the red spectral region were used to monitor temporal profiles of HCO radical. Reaction (1) was studied over the buffer gas (He) pressure range 0.8–100 bar and the temperature range 498–769 K. Reactions (2a), (2b), (2c), (3a) and (3b) as well as the UV absorption spectrum of HCO, were studied at 298 and 588 K, and the buffer gas (He) pressure of 1 bar. Pulsed laser photolysis (308, 320, and 193 nm) of acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, and acetone was used to prepare mixtures of free radicals. The second-order rate constant of reaction (1) obtained from the data at 1 bar is: k1(He) = (0.8 ± 0.4) × 10−10exp(−(66.0 ± 3.4) kJ mol−1/RT) cm3 molecule−1 s−1. The HCO dissociation rate constants measured in this work are lower than those reported in the previous direct work. The difference is a factor of 2.2 at the highest temperature of the experiments and a factor of 3.5 at the low end. The experimental data indicate pressure dependence of the rate constant of dissociation of formyl radical 1, which was attributed to the early pressure fall-off expected based on the theory of isolated resonances. The UV absorption spectrum of HCO was revised. The maximum absorption cross-section of HCO is (7.3 ± 1.2) × 10−18 cm2 molecule−1 at 230 nm (temperature independent within the experimental error). The measured rate constants for reactions (2a), (2b), (2c), (3a) and (3b) are: k2 = (3.6 ± 0.8) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 (298 K); k3 = (9.3 ± 2.3) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1(298 and 588 K).  相似文献

A large change in the refractive index originating in the transition absorption of erbium ions is induced in an Er3+-doped fiber. It is shown that the Er3+-doped fiber exhibits the nonlinear refractive index of n2=7.4 × 10−15 m2/W, which is 105−106 times larger than that caused by the optical Kerr effect in a usual silica fiber at the pumping, wavelength of 514.5 nm. The large nonlinear refractive index occurred in a fiber directional coupler fabricated with the Er3+-doped fiber optically changes the coupling condition. The coupling ratio changes up to 0.16 by increasing the pumping power up to 0.7 mW.  相似文献

TheY2Σ+–X2Πinear-infrared electronic transition of CuO was observed at high resolution for the first time. The spectrum was recorded with the Fourier transform spectrometer associated with the McMath–Pierce Solar Telescope at Kitt Peak. The excited CuO molecules were produced in a low pressure copper hollow cathode sputter with a slow flow of oxygen. Constants for theY2Σ+states of CuO are:T0= 7715.47765(54) cm−1,B= 0.4735780(28) cm−1,D= 0.822(12) × 10−6cm−1,H= 0.46(10) × 10−10cm−1, γ = −0.089587(42) cm−1, γD= 0.1272(79) × 10−6cm−1,bF= 0.12347(22) cm−1, andc= 0.0550(74) cm−1. A dual wavelength laser Mach–Zehnder interferometric technique is applied for measuring the absolute values of refractive index n and its thermo-optic coefficients dn/dT for paraffin wax. The values of n and dn/dT are used to calculate a number of the decisive thermo-optic properties. Applying Maxwell’s equation (=n2) the optical permittivity and its thermal coefficient d/dT, specific refraction, specific dispersivity, polarizability per unit volume and the ratio of atomic to electronic polarizabilities are calculated. On the other hand the optical dispersion dn/dλ and dielectric dispersion d/dλ are calculated according to Cauchy’s equation. Different important relationships between −dn/dT, −dn/dλ, −d/dT and d/dλ as a function of wavelength and other important constants are calculated and graphically represented.  相似文献

It is shown that in the π+π meson mass-spectrum in the reaction e+e → π+ππ0 at 2E > 1 GeV one should expect the anomalously large effect of the -ω interference. It can be used as a tool for the elucidation of the details of the e+eVπ reaction dynamics and as the additional possibility for the determination of the electromagnetic -ω mixing parameters.  相似文献

A thermo-optic switch in a thin-film optical waveguide was investigated. Fluorinated silicon oxide (SiOF) and organic spin-on-glass (SOG) films were used as core-layer and clad-layer, respectively, in the waveguide structure. The SiOF films were formed at 23#x00B0;C by a liquid-phase deposition (LPD) technique using a supersaturated hydrofluosilicic acid (H2SiF6) aqueous solution. Thermal coefficients of the refractive indices for LPD-SiOF and organic SOG films formed on silicon (Si) substrates were #x2212;4.0 #x00D7; 10#x2212;6/#x00B0;C, #x2212;60 #x00D7; 10#x2212;6/#x00B0;C at the wavelength of 632.8 nm, respectively. A high extinction ratio of 15 dB was obtained for this switch at the applied voltage of 12.8 V.  相似文献

The pure rotational spectrum of CH2F2 was recorded in the 20–100 cm−1 spectral range and analyzed to obtain rotation and centrifugal distortion constants. Analysis of the data yielded rotation constants: A = 1.6392173 ± 0.0000015, B = 0.3537342 ± 0.00000033, C = 0.3085387 ± 0.00000027, τaaaa = −(7.64 ± 0.46) × 10−5, τbbbb = −(2.076 ± 0.016) × 10−6, τcccc = −(9.29 ± 0.12) × 10−7, T1 = (4.89 ± 0.20) × 10−6, and T2 = −(1.281 ± 0.016) × 10−6cm−1.  相似文献

Levels 2+, 3, 1, 2, 3−1, 5 are interpreted as eigenvalues of a boson expanded Hamiltonian containing a shell model term, pairing, and quadrupole-quadrupole and octupole-octupole interaction. The expansion is performed in terms of standard RPA noncollective phonons and the so-called correlated phonons which are related to the RPA collective phonons by a canonical transformation whose parameters are determined so that the energy of the ground state is minimum. The noncollective degrees of freedom are included via an effective Hamiltonian depending on energy. Formalism is applied to 114Sn, 116Sn, and 118Sn. Also, transition probabilities and quadrupole moments are calculated. Results are compared with experimental data as well as with the previous theoretical calculations.  相似文献

A millimeter-wave molecular beam maser has been used to resolve the magnetic hyperfine structure of hydrogen cyanide. The spin-rotation interaction constants have been measured for the three nuclei 14N, 13C, and H. The paramagnetic nuclear shielding factors have been calculated for the three nuclear sites. The spin-rotation constants for 14N in H12C14N, for H in H12C14N and for 13C in D13C14N are + 10.4 kHz, −3.7 kHz, and +15.0 kHz, respectively. The respective paramagnetic shielding factors are −408.98 × 10−6, −73.40 × 10−6, and −249.52 × 10−6.  相似文献

In this paper, the experimental results regarding some structural, electrical and optical properties of ZnO thin films prepared by thermal oxidation of metallic Zn thin films are presented.Zn thin films (d=200–400 nm) were deposited by thermal evaporation under vacuum, onto unheated glass substrates, using the quasi-closed volume technique. In order to obtain ZnO films, zinc-coated glass substrates were isochronally heated in air in the 300–660 K temperature range, for thermal oxidation.X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies revealed that the ZnO films obtained present a randomly oriented hexagonal nanocrystalline structure. Depending on the heating temperature of the Zn films, the optical transmittance of the ZnO films in the visible wavelength range varied from 85% to 95%. The optical band gap of the ZnO films was found to be about 3.2 eV. By in situ studying of the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity during the oxidation process, the value of about 2×10−2 Ω−1 m−1 was found for the conductivity of completely oxidized ZnO films.  相似文献
