R will denote a commutative integral domain with quotient fieldQ. A torsion-free cover of a moduleM is a torsion-free moduleF and anR-epimorphism σ:FM such that given any torsion-free moduleG and λ∈Hom R (G, M) there exists μ∈Hom R (G,F) such that σμ=λ. It is known that ifM is a maximal ideal ofR, R→R/M is a torsion-free cover if and only ifR is a maximal valuation ring. LetE denote the injective hull ofR/M thenR→R/M extends to a homomorphismQ→E. We give necessary and sufficient conditions forQ→E to be a torsion-free cover.  相似文献

LetR be a ring, and let (ℐ, ℱ) be an hereditary torsion theory of leftR-modules. An epimorphism ψ:M→X is called a torsion-free cover ofX if (1)M∈ ℱ, (2) every homomorphism from a torsion-free module intoX can be factored throughM, and (3) ker ψ contains no nonzero ℐ -closed submodules ofM. Conditions onM andN are studied to determine when the natural mapsM→M/N andQ(M)→Q(M)/N are torsion-free covers, whenQ(M) is the localization ofM with respect to (ℐ, ℱ). IfM→M/N is a torsion-free cover andM is projective, thenN⊆radM. Consequently, the concepts of projective cover and torsion-free cover coincide in some interesting cases.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the injective cover of theR-moduleE(R/B)/R/B for a prime ideal B ofR is the direct sum of copies ofE(R/B) for prime ideals D ⊃ B, and if B is maximal, the injective cover is a finite sum of copies ofE(R/B). For a finitely generatedR-moduleM withn generators andG an injectiveR-module, we argue that the natural mapG nG n/Hom R (M, G) is an injective precover if Ext R 1 (M, R) = 0, and that the converse holds ifG is an injective cogenerator ofR. Consequently, for a maximal ideal R ofR, depthR R ≧ 2 if and only if the natural mapE(R/R) →E(R/R)/R/R is an injective cover and depthR R > 0.  相似文献

We define a prime ΓM-module for a Γ-ringM. It is shown that a subsetP ofM is a prime ideal ofM if and only ifP is the annihilator of some prime ΓM-moduleG. s-prime ideals ofM were defined by the first author. We defines-modules ofM, analogous to a concept defined by De Wet for rings. It is shown that a subsetQ ofM is ans-prime ideal ofM if and only ifQ is the annihilator of somes-moduleG ofM. Relationships between prime ΓM-modules and primeR-modules are established, whereR is the right operator ring ofM. Similar results are obtained fors-modules.  相似文献

This note we give a construction of a quotient ringR/μ induced via a fuzzy idealμ ina ringR. The Fuzzy First, Second and Third Isomorphism Theorems are established. For some applications of this construction of quotient rings, we show that ifμ is a fuzzy ideal of a commutative ringR, thenμ is prime (resp. maximal, primary) if and only ifR/μ is an integral domain (resp.R/μ is a field, every zero divisor inR/μ is nilpotent). Moreover we give a simpler characterization of fuzzy maximal ideal of a ring.  相似文献

LetG be a finite group and letR gG R g be any associative algebra over a field such that the subspacesR g satisfyR g R h R gh . We prove that ifR 1 satisfies a PI of degreed, thenR satisfies a PI of degree bounded by an explicit function ofd and the order ofG. This result implies the following: ifH is a finite-dimensional semisimple commutative Hopfalgebra andR is anyH-module algebra withR H satisfying a PI of degreed, thenR satisfies a PI of degree bounded by an explicit function ofd and the dimension ofH.  相似文献

Letk be a field, andA a finitely generatedk-algebra, with augmentation. Suppose there is a presentation ofA 0→IRA→0 whereR is a finitely generated freek-algebra andI is non-zero. IfA is infinite dimensional overk, Lewin proved thatR/I 2 is not finitely presented. A stronger statement would be that the ‘Schur multiplier’ ofR/I 2 is not finite dimensional. In the case thatA is an augmented domain, we prove this stronger statement, and some related statements.  相似文献

Let the lattice Λ have covering radiusR, so that closed balls of radiusR around the lattice points just cover the space. The covering multiplicityCM(Λ) is the maximal number of times the interiors of these balls overlap. We show that the least possible covering multiplicity for ann-dimensional lattice isn ifn≤8, and conjecture that it exceedsn in all other cases. We determine the covering multiplicity of the Leech lattice and of the latticesI n, An, Dn, En and their duals for small values ofn. Although it appears thatCM(I n)=2 n−1 ifn≤33, asn → ∞ we haveCM(I n)∼2.089... n . The results have application to numerical integration.  相似文献

It has been proved that, ifR is a near-ring with no non-zero nilpotent two-sidedR-subsets and if the annihilator of any non-zero ideal is contained in some maximal annihilator, thenR is a subdirect sum of strictly prime near-rings. Moreover, ifR is a near-ring with no non-zero nilpotent two-sidedR-subsets and satisfying a.c.c. or d.c.c. on annihilating ideals of the form Ann (Q), whereQ is an ideal ofR, thenR is a finite subdirect sum of strictly prime near-rings. It is also proved that, ifR is a regular and right duo near-ring that satisfies a.c.c. (or d.c.c.) on annihilating ideals of the form Ann (Q), whereQ is an ideal ofR, thenR is a finite direct sum of near-ringsR i (1 i n) where eachR i is simple and strictly prime.  相似文献

Suppose that 1<p≦2, 2≦q<∞. The formal identity operatorI:l pl qfactorizes through any given non-compact operator from ap-smooth Banach space into aq-convex Banach space. It follows that ifX is a 2-convex space andY is an infinite dimensional subspace ofX which is isomorphic to a Hilbert space, thenY contains an isomorphic copy ofl 2 which is complemented inX.  相似文献

LetR be an integral domain andA a finely gradedR-subalgebra of a polynomial ring overR. There are two topics in this article concerning the normality ofA. The main result in the first topic is thatA is completely normal (or normal) if and only if the corresponding monoid is completely normal (or normal resp.) whenR is a Krull (or Dedekind resp.) domain. The main result in the second topic is that ifR is (completely) normal andA is equipped with a structure of a square-free pre-Hodge algebra overR, thenA is also (completely) normal. We also prove the statement in a sense converse to the one above.  相似文献

Gorenstein flatness and injectivity over Gorenstein rings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let R be a Gorenstein ring.We prove that if I is an ideal of R such that R/I is a semi-simple ring, then the Gorenstein flat dimension of R/I as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of R/I as a left R-module are identical. In addition,we prove that if R→S is a homomorphism of rings and SE is an injective cogenerator for the category of left S-modules,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of S as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of E as a left R-module are identical. We also give some applications of these results.  相似文献

Two Bernoulli shifts are given, (X, T) and (X′, T′), with independent generatorsR=PQ andR′=P′ ∨Q′ respectively. (R andR′ are finite). One can chooseR such that if (X′, T′) can be made a factor of (X, T) in such a way that (P′) T′ and (Q′) T′ are full entropy factors of (P) T and (Q) T respectively thend (PQ)=d(P′Q′). In addition it is proved that if (X, T) is a Bernoulli shift and ifS is a measure preserving transformation ofX that has the same factor algebras asT thenS=T orS=T −1. A tool for this proof, which may be of independent interest is a relative version for very weak Bernoullicity.

Let R be an associative ring with a unit and N be a left R-module. The set M R(N) = {f: NN | f(rx) = rf(x), rR, xN} is a near-ring with respect to the operations of addition and composition and contains the ring E R(N) of all endomorphisms of the R-module N. The R-module N is endomorphic if M R(N) = E R(N). We call an Abelian group endomorphic if it is an endomorphic module over its endomorphism ring. In this paper, we find endomorphic Abelian groups in the classes of all separable torsion-free groups, torsion groups, almost completely decomposable torsion-free groups, and indecomposable torsion-free groups of rank 2. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 13, No. 1, pp. 229–233, 2007.  相似文献

LetG be a finite directed graph which is irreducible and aperiodic. Assume each vertex ofG leads to at least two other vertices, and assumeG has a cycle of prime length which is a proper subset ofG. Then there exist two functionsr:GG andb:GG such that ifr(x)=y andb(x)=z thenxy andxz inG andyz and such that some composition ofr’s andb’s is a constant function. On the dynamics of composite entire functions   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Letf andg be nonlinear entire functions. The relations between the dynamics off⊗g andg⊗f are discussed. Denote byℐ (·) andF(·) the Julia and Fatou sets. It is proved that ifzC, thenz∈ℐ8464 (f⊗g) if and only ifg(z)∈ℐ8464 (g⊗f); ifU is a component ofF(fg) andV is the component ofF(gg) that containsg(U), thenU is wandering if and only ifV is wandering; ifU is periodic, then so isV and moreover,V is of the same type according to the classification of periodic components asU. These results are used to show that certain new classes of entire functions do not have wandering domains. The rate of a standard gradedK-algebraR is a measure of the growth of the shifts in a minimal free resolution ofK as anR-module. It is known that rate(R)=1 if and only ifR is Koszul and that rate(R) ≥m(I)−1 wherem(I) denotes the highest degree of a generator of the defining idealI ofR. We show that the rate of the coordinate ring of certain sets of pointsX of the projective space P n is equal tom(I)−1. This extends a theorem of Kempf. We study also the rate of algebras defined by a space of forms of some fixed degreed and of small codimension.  相似文献

If T is a (commutative unital) ring extension of a ring R, then Λ(T /R) is defined to be the supremum of the lengths of chains of intermediate fields between R P /P R P and T Q /QT Q , where Q varies over Spec(T) and P:= QR. The invariant σ(R):= sup Λ(T/R), where T varies over all the overrings of R. It is proved that if Λ(S/R)< ∞ for all rings S between R and T, then (R, T) is an INC-pair; and that if (R, T) is an INC-pair such that T is a finite-type R-algebra, then Λ(T/R)< ∞. Consequently, if R is a domain with σ(R) < ∞, then the integral closure of R is a Prüfer domain; and if R is a Noetherian G-domain, then σ(R) < ∞, with examples showing that σ(R) can be any given non-negative integer. Other examples include that of a onedimensional Noetherian locally pseudo-valuation domain R with σ(R)=∞.  相似文献

LetR=F{x 1, …, xk} be a prime affine p.i. ring andS a multiplicative closed set in the center ofR, Z(R). The structure ofG-rings of the formR s is completely determined. In particular it is proved thatZ(R s)—the normalization ofZ(R s) —is a prüfer ring, 1≦k.d(R s)≦p.i.d(R s) and the inequalities can be strict. We also obtain a related result concerning the contractability ofq, a prime ideal ofZ(R) fromR. More precisely, letQ be a prime ideal ofR maximal to satisfyQϒZ(R)=q. Then k.dZ(R)/q=k.dR/Q, h(q)=h(Q) andh(q)+k.dZ(R)/q=k.dz(R). The last condition is a necessary butnot sufficient condition for contractability ofq fromR.  相似文献

We prove that ifX is a Polish space andF a face ofP(X) with the Baire property, thenF is either a meager or a co-meager subset ofP(X). As a consequence we show that for every abelian Polish groupX and every analytic Haar-null set Λ⊆X, the set of test measuresT(Λ) of Λ is either meager or co-meager. We characterize the non-locally-compact groups as the ones for which there exists a closed Haar-null setFX withT(F) meager, Moreover, we answer negatively a question of J. Mycielski by showing that for every non-locally-compact abelian Polish group and every σ-compact subgroupG ofX there exists aG-invariantF σ subset ofX which is neither prevalent nor Haar-null.
