The photoionization efficiency curves for 39,39K2 and 39,41K2 dimers excited to the B 1Πu electronic state have been measured using sequential two-photon-ionization techniques. Accurate determinations of nine photoionization thresholds yield an adiabatic ionization energy of 4.06073 ± 0.00016 eV. Autoionizing Rydberg states are assigned and analyzed. Autoionization rates are measured for several Rydberg vibronic states. The isotopic dependence of the autoionization structure is partially analyzed and molecular constants for the K+2 (2Σ+g) state are derived.  相似文献

Configuration-interaction calculations, with an extended basis, are carried out on the ground and lower excited states of O2 and O2+ at and near the equilibrium internuclear distance (R = 2.3 a.u.) of the ground state of O2. Particular attention has been paid to the two lowest 3Σu? states, and the mixing of the valence and Rydberg characters in these states are studied. The lowest 3Σu? state is a Rydberg-type state for R < 2.3 a.u., but becomes valence-type for R ? 2.3 a.u. The second 3Σu? state, which is 1.6 eV above the lowest 3Σu? at R = 2.3 a.u., changes its character from Rydberg to valence, valence to Rydberg, and then to valence again when R increases from 1.9 to 3.1 a.u. Satisfactory agreement between the calculated and experimental vertical excitation energies is obtained.  相似文献

The potential energy curves and transition moments of the ground state of Ca2 and 1Σ+u states correlating with the 1S + 1P and 1S + 1D calcium atoms have been calculated. The calculations support the assignment of the observed emission spectra of Ca2 in the red and in the green to transitions between the ground state and the 1,21Σ+u states. Predissociation of the 11Σ+u state is also shown to be possible from an interaction with the 13Πu state.  相似文献

The electron affinity and first three ionization potentials of C3 are calculated using the multiconfigurational SCF and configuration interaction methods and by Möller-Plesset perturbation theory. Whereas Koopmans' theorem and SCF calculations indicate that the first cation state is 2Πu, upon inclusion of correlation effects both the 2Σu and 2Σg cation states are found to lie lower in energy. CI calculations indicate that the ground state (2Πg) anion is stable by 1.74 eV. Allowing for the error in the calculated electron affinity of the carbon atom, C3? is estimated to be stable by 2.0 eV, in excellent agreement with the 2.05 eV value determined from recent photodetachment measurements. No excited anion states are found to be bound at the equilibrium geometry of the neutral molecule.  相似文献

Ab initio multi-configuration self-consistent field and first-order configuration interaction (FOCI) calculations in an extended basis set have been carried out for the lower energy electronic states of Al2. The ten core electrons of each Al atom were replaced by an accurate compact effective core potential. The FOCI calculated To value for the 3Σg?-3Σu? transition agrees with the experimentally observed emission band to within 90 cm?1. 3Πu is calculated to be the electronic ground state of Al2. Based on FOCI energies and qualitative intensity arguments, the reported optical absorption spectrum of matrix isolated Al2 also agrees best with a 3Πu ground state. The 3Σg?1 state is calculated (Te) at only 324 cm?1 above the 3Πu state, and the 1ΣEg+ state is predicted to lie higher.  相似文献

A model potential method in which a molecule is described as a single electron moving in the field of two polarizable cores is used to calculate the potential energy curves and the wavefunctions of the lowest six electronic states of the molecular ion Na2+. The ground X2Σg state has a dissociation energy of 0.98 eV at an equilibrium separation of 3.3 Å and the excited 2Πu state has a dissociation energy of 0.23 eV at an equilibrium separation of 5.2 Å. Various molecular properties of these two bound states are calculated. An analysis of the long range behaviour of all the six states is presented.  相似文献

A configuration interaction study of different electronic states of N+2 has been performed. The position in energy and the relative intensity of the photoelectron bands of the 2Σ+u states has been calculated and compared with experiment. The C2Σ+u state is predissociated by a 4Πu state, as previously supposed. However, owing to the attractive nature of the 4Πu state a double crossing occurs. Several predissociation mechanisms of the C state can therefore take place; their lifetimes have been calculated.  相似文献

A number of dissociation channels in N20 have been observed by time-of-flight spectroscopy following electron impact excitation. The metastable atoms and molecules produced were directly detected. Excited N2 molecules were produced in the A3Σu+, B3Πg and B′3Σu? states in conjunction with ground state oxygen atoms. A number of additional dissociation channels were monitored by observing the production of oxygen and nitrogen atoms in Rydberg states. The results indicate the existence of potential minima in some of the repulsive surfaces involved.  相似文献

Configuration interaction calculation are employed to study the X 2Σ+g, A 2Πu, B 2Σ+u, 4Σ+u and 4Δu states of the C?2 ion. The results are in good quantitative agreement with experimental findings for the Herzberg—Lagerquist (2Σ+u-2Σ+g) bands and predict a Te value for the 2Πu state of only 0.40 eV; corresponding transition moment results are obtained as a function of CC distance. The Cl electron affinity is 3.43 eV, in good agreement with the most recent experimental estimate for this quantity.  相似文献

The absorption of photons by Li2 from the X 1Σ+g state to the A 1Σ+u and B 1Πu states is considered and the mechanisms that lead to dissociation are studied quantitatively. Calculations are reported on the direct predissociation of the b 3Πu state. The significance of accidental predissociation of the A 1Σ+u state is discussed and a quantal theory of the process is presented.  相似文献

LCGTO-MP-LSD calculation was performed for the ground and several low-lying excited states of homo- (N2, P2, As2, and Sb2) and hetero-nuclear (PN, AsN, AsP, AsSb, SbN, and SbP) groupVA diatomics. For all the systems the ground state is found to be1Σ+. For N2 and P2, the1Σ g + ground state is followed by the3Σ u + ,3Π g ,3Δ u ,1Π g , and1Δ u low-lying exited states while for As2 the order is found to be3Σ u + ,3Δ u ,3Π g ,1Δ u ,1Π g . Finally for Sb2 the relative stability of excited states is3Σ u + ,3Δ u ,1Δ u ,3Π g ,1Π g . For the hetero-nuclear diatomics the1Σ+ ground state is, in the case of PN, AsN, AsP, SbN, and SbP, followed by the3Σ+,3Δ,3Π,1Π and1Δ low-lying excited states while for the AsSb diatomic an inversion of stability of the two last singlets occurs. The calculated spectroscopic parameters (Re, ωe, andDe) are in good agreement with all the available experimental results while, theTe values are overestimated by about 0.5 eV. Mulliken population analysis shows that both homo- and hetero-nuclear groupVA diatomics are essentially triple bonded systems.  相似文献

The UV emission of Cl2 from a new valence-shell state having 0+u symmetry (Tc ≈ 59774 cm?1, rc ≈ 3.0 Å) was observed by focusing ≈ 500 nm laser radiation to gaseous chlorine. Excitation was achieved by virtual two-photon absorption from the B 3Π0+u state formed by single-photon absorption stepwisely. The emission spectra showed transitions to the ground state as well as to the repulsive grade estate dissociating to Cl2P) + Cl(2P) products.  相似文献

High-resolution laser photofragment spectroscopy is performed in a fast beam of H2c3Πu formed by near resonant charge exchange. The observed linewidths allow partial resolution of the fine and hyperfine structure in the 1s3d g 3Σ+g Rydberg state. Simulations of the spectra indicate that the hyperfine splittings are very close to those of H+2 as expected for Rydberg states.  相似文献

The electron attachment rate constant for Cl2 as a function of the mean electron energy (0.04–0.78 eV) and temperature (213–323 K) has been measured and is reported; it shows a maximum at near thermal energy and is attributed to dissociative electron attachment via the ground state 2Σu+ of Cl2? from the ground state 1Σg+ of Cl2.  相似文献

Ab initio SCF and Cl calculations are reported for the C3 molecule using a basis set of double-zeta plus polarization quality. Potential curves are obtained for the symmetric stretch and bending and antisymmetric stretch vibrational coordinates for the ground and 3σu → l πg3,1Πu excited states of this system in order to calculate the intensity distributions for the associated electronic transitions. The calculated T0 value for the 1Πu ← X?1+g transition of 3.03 eV is in quite good agreement with the location of the origin of the 4050 Å (3.06 eV) band system in C3, confirming its previous assignment to this electronic transition; the lifetime of the 1Hu upper state is also obtained in the CI treatment. A value of 2.04 eV is calculated for the corresponding 3Πu ← X?1+g origin, which result in turn suggests that the weak feature starting at 2.10 eV (5900 Å) should be assigned thereto.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations in the “first-order wavefunction” CI approximation have been performed for several states of N2+ with 2Σu+, 2Σu?, 4Πu symmetry. A calculation of the electronic factor of the vibronic interaction between the B2Σu+ and C2Σu+ states seems to support the suggestion of Tellinghuisen and Albritton that the C state is predissociated by the continuum of the B state through nuclear momentum coupling.  相似文献

Electron energy loss measurements and concommitant RPAE calculations are reported of the valence-shell dipole excitation spectrum of molecular fluorine. The measured spectrum is dominated by a series of strong features in the 12–16 eV interval which are in accord with X1Σg+1Σu+ bands assigned in a previously reported high-resolution optical study. These features are attributed on basis of the present RPAE calculations to configuration mixing between 1πgnu Rydberg and 3σg→3σu intravalence excitations. A depleted X→Vσ charge-transfer excitation is correspondingly observed at ≈17 eV, in good accord with the calculated values. The appearance of the σ→σ* transition in F2 below the 3σg?1 threshold is in marked contrast to the situation in other light diatomic molecules, in which cases σ→σ* transitions appear as intravalence shape resonances in photoionization continua. Assignments are also provided of weak, irregularly spaced X1Σg+1Πu excitations the origins of which are attributed to configuration mixing between 1πgnu and 1πung Rydberg series.  相似文献

The emission spectrum of the dicyanoacetylene radical cation has been observed in the 580–720 nm wavelength region as a result of low energy electron impact excitation in a crossed-beam arrangement. The band system is attributed to the Ã2Σ+g → X?2Πu electronic transition by comparison with the photoelectron spectroscopic and calculated data on the states of dicyanoacetylene cation. The frequencies of the three Σ+g vibrational fundamentals in the ground cation state have been deduced from the emission spectrum. The lifetime of the lowest vibrational level of the Ã2Σ+g state of dicyanoacetylene cation was determined to be 13 ± 2 ns. Emission could not be detected from the corresponding states, Ã2Σ+, of fluorocyanoacetylene and cyanoacetylene cations, and these results are discussed.  相似文献

The stabilization method of Taylor has been used to calculate the nature of the states of NO? corresponding to the lowest resonances observed recently by Sanche and Schulz. It is confirmed that they consist of two Rydberg electrons in the core of the X 1Σ+ ground state of the ion. The proposed assignments are the (Rsσ)21Σ+, (Rsσ)(Rpπ) 3Π, (Rsσ)(Rpσ) 3Σ+ states. The fourth resonance is attributed to an (Rpπ)23Σ+ state. The Rydberg or of these states of the negative ion are more diffuse than the corresponding ones of the neutral molecule.  相似文献
