Summary Studies on the chelate complexes of copper(II) with the bidentate ligands, 1,4-diphenyl-2,3-dimethyl-1,4-diazabutadiene (PMB) and 1,4-di(p-methoxyphenyl)-2,3-dimethyl-1,4-diazabutadiene (MPMB), have been carried out. On the basis of the elemental analysis and molar conductivity, the complexes have been characterized as [Cu(PMB)Cl2], [Cu(PMB)2](ClO4)2, [Cu(MPMB)Cl2] and [Cu(MPMB)2](ClO4)2. Both diazabutadienes are bidentate via nitrogen atoms. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility and the electron paramagnetic resonance, i.r. and u.v.-vis spectra are reported. All compounds appear to be monomers.  相似文献

The complexes [Co(L)Cl2]Cl · 4H2O (1) and [Co(L)(N3)2]N3 · 2H2O (2) (L = 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo [14,4,01.18,07.12]docosane) have been synthesized, and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The crystal structure of (1) is centrosymmetric and the cobalt(III) atom has an axially elongated octahedral geometry with four nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle and two chloride ligands. The cobalt(III) ion in (2) is coordinated to four nitrogen atoms from the macrocycle, and two azide ligands in an octahedral environment, which forms the 1D polymer through hydrogen bonding contacts involving the cation, azide anion and solvent water molecules. Electronic spectra of the complexes also exhibit a low-spin octahedral environment. Cyclic voltammetry of the complexes undergoes a one-electron wave corresponding to Co(III)/Co(II) processes. The electronic spectra and electrochemical behaviors of the complexes are significantly affected by the nature of the axial ligands.  相似文献

Schiff base mixed-ligand copper complexes [CuL1(phen)Cl2], [CuL1(bipy)Cl2], [Cu(L1)2Cl2], [Cu(L2)2Cl2], [CuL2(bipy)Cl2], and [CuL2(phen)Cl2] (where L1?=?4-[3,4-dimethoxy-benzylidene]-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-pyrazole-3-one; L2?=?4-[3-hydroxy-4-nitro-benzylidene]-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-pyrazole-3-one; phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline; and bipy?=?2,2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized and characterized. Their DNA-binding properties have been studied by electronic absorption spectra, viscosity, and electrochemical measurements. The absorption spectral and viscosity results suggest that the copper(II) complexes bind to DNA via partial intercalation. The addition of DNA resulting in the decrease of the peak current of the copper(II) complexes indicates their interaction. Interaction between the complexes and DNA has also been investigated by submarine gel electrophoresis. The copper complexes cleave supercoiled pUC19 DNA to nicked and linear forms through hydroxyl radical and singlet oxygen in the presence of 3-mercaptopropionic acid as the reducing agent. These copper complexes promote the photocleavage of pUC19 DNA under irradiation at 360?nm. Mechanistic study reveals that singlet oxygen is likely to be the reactive species responsible for the cleavage of plasmid DNA by the synthesized complexes. The in vitro antimicrobial study indicates that the metal chelates have higher activity against the bacterial and fungal strains than the free ligands.  相似文献

N-Carboethoxy-4-chlorobenzene thioamide (Hcct or HL) and N-carboethoxy-4-bromobenzene thioamide (Hcbt or HL) react with bivalent (Ni, Co, Cu, Ru, Pd and Pt), trivalent (Ru and Rh) and tetravalent (Pt) transition metal ions to give [MII(L)2], [RuIII(L)3], [RhIII(L)(HL)Cl2] and [Pt(L)2Cl2] complexes, respectively. In the presence of pyridine, CoII and NiII salts react with the ligands (HL) to give [MII(L)2Py] (M = Co and Ni) complexes. Soft metal ions abstract sulphur from the ligands to yield the corresponding sulphide, together with oxygenated forms of the ligands. All the metal complexes have been characterised by chemical analyses, conductivity, spectroscopic and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

The new Mannich bases bis(1,4-diphenylthiosemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L1 and bis(1,4-diphenylsemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L2 were synthesised from the condensation of phosphinic acid, formaldehyde with 1,4-diphenyl thiosemicarbazide and 1,4-diphenylsemicarbazide, respectively. Monomeric complexes of these ligands, of general formulae K2[CrIII(L n )Cl2], K3[MnII(L n )Cl2] and K[M(L n )] (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) or Hg(II); n = 1, 2), are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. These studies revealed octahedral geometries for the Cr(III), Mn(II) complexes, square planar for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Hg(II) complexes.  相似文献

Two Schiff bases, L1 (5,6;11,12-dibenzophenone-2,3,8,9-tetramethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododeca-1,3,7,9-tetraene) and L2 (6,7;13,14-dibenzophenone-2,4,9,11-tetramethyl-1,5,8,12-tetraazacyclotetradeca-1,4,8,11-tetraene), bearing functionalized pendant arms have been synthesized by cyclocondensation of 3,4-diaminobenzophenone with 2,3-butanedione and 2,4-pentanedione, respectively. Mononuclear macrocyclic complexes [FeL1Cl2]Cl, [FeL2Cl2]Cl, [ML1Cl2], and [ML2Cl2] (where M?=?Co(II) and Cu(II)) have been prepared by reacting iron(III), cobalt(II), and copper(II) with the preformed Schiff base. The ligands and their corresponding metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, ESI-mass spectra, conductivity, magnetic moments, UV-Vis, EPR, IR, 1H-, and 13C-NMR spectral studies, and TGA-DTA/DSC data. The TGA profiles exhibit a two-step pyrolysis, although the iron complexes decompose in three steps, leaving behind metal oxides as the final product. The ligands and complexes were screened in vitro against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi.  相似文献

The electronic structure of mono-, hexa-, and nonanuclear cobalt trimethylacetate complexes was studied by XPS. The Co3s- and Co3p X-ray photoelectron spectra of the complexes were recorded. The Co3p spectrum of bivalent cobalt was calculated in the isolated-ion intermediate-coupling approximation. Spectrum analysis showed that the [Co(N-Phobsqdi)2(η′-N-Ph-opda)(OOCCMe3)] complex is a strong-field complex with Co(III) in the diamagnetic state; the [Co(dipy)2(OOCCMe3)2], [Co(dipyam)(OOCCMe3)2], and [Co93-OH)6(μ-OOCCMe3)12(OCMe2)4] are high-spin weak-field Co(II) complexes; and the [Co64-O)2(OOCCMe3)10(THF)4] complex contains both the Co(II) and Co(III) atoms. The energy position of major Co3s- and Co3p spectral maxima were found to be sensitive to the nature of the nearest environment of cobalt atoms. The data correlate well with X-ray crystallographic data.  相似文献

By self-assembling in the systems MX2–2-(7-bromo-2-oxo-5-phenyl-2,3-dehydro-1Н-1,4-benzdiazepin-1-yl)acetohydrazide (Hydr)–salicyl aldehyde (HSal) (М = Co, Ni, Zn; X = Cl, CH3COO) the complexes of composition [Co(HydrSal)2], [Ni(HydrSal)2], [Zn(HydrHSal)Cl2], [Zn(HydrSal)(CH3COO)(H2O)] have been synthesized. The local atomic structure of the coordination unit was determined by the method of X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Thermal stability, electroconductivity, and magnetic susceptibility of the complexes have been studied.  相似文献

High‐spin cobalt(II) complexes are considered useful building blocks for the synthesis of single‐molecule magnets (SMM) because of their intrinsic magnetic anisotropy. In this work, three new cobalt(II) chloride adducts with labile ligands have been synthesized from anhydrous CoCl2, to be subsequently employed as starting materials for heterobimetallic compounds. The products were characterized by elemental, spectroscopic (EPR and FT–IR) and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses. trans‐Tetrakis(acetonitrile‐κN )bis(tetrahydrofuran‐κO )cobalt(II) bis[(acetonitrile‐κN )trichloridocobaltate(II)], [Co(C2H3N)4(C4H8O)2][CoCl3(C2H3N)]2, (1), comprises mononuclear ions and contains both acetonitrile and tetrahydrofuran (thf) ligands, The coordination polymer catena‐poly[[tetrakis(propan‐2‐ol‐κO )cobalt(II)]‐μ‐chlorido‐[dichloridocobalt(II)]‐μ‐chlorido], [Co2Cl4(C3H8O)4], (2′), was prepared by direct reaction between anhydrous CoCl2 and propan‐2‐ol in an attempt to rationalize the formation of the CoCl2–alcohol adduct (2), probably CoCl2(HOiPr)m . The binuclear complex di‐μ‐chlorido‐1:2κ4Cl :Cl‐dichlorido‐2κ2Cl‐tetrakis(tetrahydrofuran‐1κO )dicobalt(II), [Co2Cl4(C4H8O)4], (3), was obtained from (2) after recrystallization from tetrahydrofuran. All three products present cobalt(II) centres in both octahedral and tetrahedral environments, the former usually less distorted than the latter, regardless of the nature of the neutral ligand. Product (2′) is stabilized by an intramolecular hydrogen‐bond network that appears to favour a trans arrangement of the chloride ligands in the octahedral moiety; this differs from the cis disposition found in (3). The expected easy displacement of the bound solvent molecules from the metal coordination sphere makes the three compounds good candidates for suitable starting materials in a number of synthetic applications.  相似文献

Four Co(II) complexes, [Co(HL)2](OAc)2, [Co(HL)2Cl2], [Co(HL)2(MeOH)2](NO3)2, and [Co2(HL)4(SO4)2] (HL = acetone-N(4)-phenylsemicarbazone) were synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that the complexes are paramagnetic with three unpaired electrons. In all the complexes, the semicarbazone is coordinated as a neutral bidentate ligand. The structure of [Co(HL)2(MeOH)2](NO3)2 was confirmed by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The ligand is neutral and bidentate, being coordinated to the cobalt atom through the carbonyl oxygen and the azomethine nitrogen. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding and C–H···π interactions combine to stabilize the crystal structure. The ligand and its two complexes [Co(HL)2Cl2] and [Co(HL)2(MeOH)2](NO3)2 were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities using disk diffusion methods.  相似文献

Heterospin complexes based on cobalt semiquinolate with stable nitroxides of composition [Co(SQ)2(NIT)2]·8CH2Cl2, [Co(SQ)2(NIT)2]·4MeCN, [Co(SQ)2(IN)2]·5Me2CO, [Co(SQ)2(IN)2]·4MeCN, and [Co(SQ)2(IN)2]·2CH2Cl2·C6H14, where SQ is 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzosemiquinolate, NIT is 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-3-oxide-1-oxyl, and IN is the imine analog of NIT, viz., 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-1-oxyl, were synthesized. The characteristic feature of these compounds is that they contain two different types of paramagnetic organic ligands. The X-ray diffraction study showed that the solid phases of the complexes have a molecular structure. According to the data from thermomagnetic analysis (2–350 K), all complexes exhibit effects of valence tautomerism at ∼20 °C. It was found that incorporated solvent molecules have an effect on the magnetic anomaly temperature.  相似文献

New Mannich bases bis(thiosemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L1 and bis(1-phenylsemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L2 were synthesized from condensation of phosphinic acid and formaldehyde with thiosemicarbazide and 1-phenylsemicarbazide, respectively. Monomeric complexes of these ligands, of general formula K2[CrIII(L n )Cl2], K3[FeII(L1)Cl2], K3[MnII(L2)Cl2], and K[M(L n )] (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) or Cd(II); n = 1, 2) are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through IR, UV-Vis, NMR, and mass spectral studies, magnetic moment measurements, elemental analysis, metal content, and conductance. These studies revealed octahedral geometries for the Cr(III), Mn(II), and Fe(II) complexes, square planar for Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes. Complex formation via molar ratio in DMF solution has been investigated and results were consistent to those found in the solid complexes with a ratio of (M : L) as (1 : 1).  相似文献

In this study, five novel Co(II) complexes of 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-phenol derivatives (HLx: x = 1–5) have been synthesized and characterized. The general formula for complexes C1 and C2 is K2[Co(HL1,2)2Cl2]·H2O, for complex C3 K2[Co(HL3)2Cl2], and for complexes C4 and C5 [Co(HL4,5)2]. In all complexes, the ligands are coordinated as bidentate, via one imine nitrogen and the phenolate oxygen atoms. The structures of the compounds were characterized by FT-IR, UV–vis, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopies, ICP and elemental analysis (C, H, and N). The purity of these compounds was ascertained by melting point (m.p.) and TLC. Geometry optimization of the studied complexes was done by Gaussian09 software at B3LYP/TZVP level of theory and satisfactory theoretical–experimental agreement was achieved for NMR and IR spectra of the compounds. Based on the combined experimental and theoretical studies, six-coordinate octahedral structures have been proposed for complexes C1C3, while complexes C4 and C5 had distorted tetrahedral geometry. All complexes were activated with diethylaluminum chloride (Et2AlCl), cobalt(II) complexes containing bulky methyl groups in the aryl moiety show high catalytic activities (1774 kg?mol?1(Co)?h?1) for ethylene oligomerization. The oligomers obtained from the cobalt complexes exhibit good selectivity for linear 1-butene and 1-hexene. Results revealed that both the steric and electronic effects of ligands strongly affect the catalytic activities and the properties of the catalytic products.  相似文献

Polynuclear complexes of RHII and RHIII with fiveN-alkylphenothiazines as principal ligands have been prepared. The complexes were characterized by their elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and spectral data. The molecular formulae of the new complexes are as follows: [Rh3(PTZ)2(OH2)2Cl8]Cl, where PTZ=chlorpromazine or promethazine; [Rh3(EP)2(OH2)2Cl8][Rh(OH2)2Cl4], where EP=ethopropazine; [Rh4(TF)2(OH2)5Cl9]Cl·H2O, where TF=trifluoperazine; and [Rh2(TC)3(OH2)Cl6]. H2O, where TC=2-chlorophenothiazine. A tentative structure for each of the complexes is proposed. TMC 2627  相似文献

Summary 2,3-Bis(hydroxyimino)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine (H2L), prepared from 2,3-diaminopyridine and cyanogen-di-N-oxide has been converted into nickel(II), palladium(II), copper(II), cobalt(II), and cobalt(III) complexes (H2L) with a 12 metal:ligand ratio. The ligands coordinate through the two N atoms, as do most vicinal dioximes. [(LH)Cl(H2O)Cd], contains a six-membered chelate ring. [Co(HL)2(L)Cl] has also been prepared using triphenylphosphine, triphenylarsine, thiophene and chloride as axial ligands. The structure of thevic-dioxime and its complexes are proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, i.r.,1H-n.m.r. and uv-visible measurements.  相似文献

2-Formyl-, 2-acetyl- and 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-cyclohexylsemicarbazone and N(4)-cyclohexylthiosemicarbazone complexes of cobalt(II, III), nickel(II) and copper(II) have been prepared and characterized by molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and spectroscopic techniques. For many of the complexes, coordination is by the neutral ligand, the main exceptions being the cobalt(III) complexes of the three thiosemicarbazones and three of the benzoylpyridine derivatives. Thus, bonding is via the pyridyl nitrogen, azomethine nitrogen and thione/thiolato sulfur. The five-coordinate copper(II) complex of 2-acetylpyridine N(4)-cyclohexylthiosemicarbazone, [Cu(HAc4CHex)Cl2], approaches square pyramidal stereochemistry with the basal Cu—Cl bond significantly shorter than the apical Cu—Cl bond. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

New bidentate Schiff-base ligands 2-(2,4-di-p-tolyl-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-9-ylidene)hydrazinecarbothioamide HL1 and 2-(2,4-di-p-tolyl-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-9-ylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide HL2 were synthesized from the condensation of 2,4-di-p-tolyl-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-9-one with thiosemicarbazide and semicarbazide, respectively. Homoleptic complexes of these ligands, of general formula K[Cr(L n )2Cl2], K2[Mn(L n )2Cl2], K2[Fe(L1)2Cl2] and [M(L n )2] (where M = Co(II), Ni(II) Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) ions; n = 1 or 2) are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through IR, UV-Vis, NMR and mass spectral studies, magnetic moment measurements, elemental analysis, metal content, and conductance. These studies revealed octahedral geometry for Cr(III), Mn(II), and Fe(II) complexes, square planar for Cu(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes and tetrahedral for Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) complexes.  相似文献

An interesting series of cobalt(II) complexes of the new ligands: 4[N-(benzalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (BAAPTS), 4[N-(2′-hydroxy-benzalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (HBAAPTS) and 4[N-(2′-hydroxy-1′-naphthalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (HNAAPTS) were synthesized by reaction with Co(II) salts in ethanol. The general stoichiometry of the complexes was found to be [CoX2(H2O)(L)] and [Co(L)2](ClO4)2, where X = Cl, NO3, NCS or CH3COO and L = BAAPTS, HBAAPTS or HNAAPTS. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity measurement, molecular weight determination, magnetic moments at room temperature, infrared and electronic spectra. All the thiosemicarbazones behave as neutral tridentate (N, N, S) donor ligands. The conductivity measurements in PhNO2 solution indicated that the chloro, nitrato, thiocyanato and acetate complexes are essentially non-electrolytes, while the perchlorate complexes are 1:2 electrolytes. Thermogravimetric studies were performed for some representative complexes and the decomposition mechanism proposed. Antibacterial and antifungal properties of the ligands and their cobalt(II) complexes have also been examined and it has been observed that the complexes are more potent bactericides than the ligand.  相似文献

Summary Several cobalt(II) complexes of 5,7-dimethyl-[1,2,4]-tria-zolo-[1,5-a]-pyrimidine (DMTP) have been prepared and characterized by thermal and spectroscopic techniques. The crystal structure of [Co(DMTP)2(H2O)4]Br2·2H2O has been determined by XRD; the metal ion is octahedrally coordinated by two DMTP ligands through the usual N(3) site and four water molecules. Metal binding to N(3) for DMTP is consistent with the electronic properties calculated with the MOPAC programme. All the complexes were screened for their activity against several types of bacteria, showing a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

Two cobalt(II) halide complexes with 1,2,4-triazole as a ligand were synthesized. Their structures were determined by extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and powder x-ray diffraction (XRD). Both complexes [Co(Htrz)Cl2]n ( 1 ) and {[Co(Htrz)2(trz)]BF4}n ( 2 ) form one-dimensional polymeric chain and the distances of Co⋯Co are 3.3521(2) Å and 3.8629(2) Å, respectively. The Htrz and Cl are bridging ligands to connect two Co(II) ions in 1 , and the local environment of Co site is in a distorted octahedron with {CoN2Cl4} core. In complex 2 , two Htrz and one trz are bridging ligands to connect two Co(II) ions, and the local geometry of Co is in a pseudo octahedron with {CoN6} core. The analysis of Co LII,III-edge XAS indicates that the Co(II) of both complexes are at high spin state with t2g5eg2 configuration and the crystal field strength (10Dq) is about 1.2 eV. The broken-symmetry DFT calculations indicate that antiferromagnetic coupling state of Co⋯Co is the most stable state in both complexes; and the coupling constants of 1 and 2 are −0.32 cm−1 and −3.70 cm−1, respectively. Based on the distances of Co⋯Co and coupling constants, such antiferromagnetic interaction is achieved through triazole ligands.  相似文献
