A new functionalized mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using salicylaldehyde was utilized for the separation, preconcentration and determination of uranium in natural water by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES).Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of U(VI) were optimized. The preconcentration factor was 100 (1.0 mL of elution for a 100 mL sample volume). The analytical curve was linear in the range 2-1000 μg L−1 and the detection limit was 0.5 ng mL−1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) under optimum conditions was 2.5% (n = 10). Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination of uranium at pH 5. The sorbent exhibited excellent stability and its sorption capacity under optimum conditions has been found to be 10 mg of uranium per gram of sorbent. The method was applied for the recovery and determination of uranium in different water samples.  相似文献

A new method that utilizes ethylenediamine-modified activated carbon (AC-EDA) as a solid-phase extractant has been developed for simultaneous preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Fe(III), Hg(II) and Pb(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The new sorbent was prepared by oxidative surface modification. Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of Cr(III), Fe(III), Hg(II) and Pb(II) were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH value for the separation of metal ions simultaneously on the new sorbent was 4.0. Complete elution of absorbed metal ions from the sorbent surface was carried out using 3.0 mL of 2% (%w/w) thiourea and 0.5 mol L−1 HCl solution. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination of target metal ions. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 39.4, 28.9, 60.5 and 49.9 mg g−1 for Cr(III), Fe(III), Hg(II) and Pb(II), respectively. The time for 94% adsorption of target metal ions was less than 2 min. The detection limits of the method was found to be 0.28, 0.22, 0.09 and 0.17 ng mL−1 for Cr(III), Fe(III), Hg(II) and Pb(II), respectively. The precision (R.S.D.) of the method was lower 4.0% (n = 8). The prepared sorbent as solid-phase extractant was successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Fe(III), Hg(II) and Pb(II) in natural and certified samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new method for the determination of palladium was developed by dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction preconcentration and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry detection. In the proposed approach, diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) was used as a chelating agent, and carbon tetrachloride and ethanol were selected as extraction and dispersive solvent. Some factors influencing the extraction efficiency of palladium and its subsequent determination, including extraction and dispersive solvent type and volume, pH of sample solution, concentration of the chelating agent and extraction time, were studied and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factor of this method for palladium reached at 156. The detection limit for palladium was 2.4 ng L−1 (3σ), and the relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) was 4.3% (n = 7, c = 1.0 ng mL−1). The method was successfully applied to the determination of trace amount of palladium in water samples.  相似文献

A novel method for the determination of palladium as a metal ion model was developed by ion pair based surfactant-assisted microextraction (IP-SAME) and inductively coupled plasma-optical detection (ICP-OES). In this methodology, a cationic surfactant was used in extraction process. It has two fundamental functions: (1) the formation of an emulsified phase and (2) the ion pair formation with Pd(II) in the presence of iodide ions and making PdI42−PdI42 extractable into organic phase (active microextraction). The effective parameters on the extraction recovery such as the types of extraction solvent and the surfactant, surfactant concentration, KI amount and HCl concentration of the sample were investigated and optimized. In the proposed approach, tetradecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (TTAB) was used as emulsifier and ion pairing agent, and 1-octanol was selected as extraction solvent. Under the optimum conditions, the enhancement factor as large as 146 was obtained. The detection limit for palladium was 0.2 μg L−1, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 4.1% (n = 5, C = 10.0 μg L−1). The proposed method was applied for extraction and determination of palladium in different water samples.  相似文献

A precise, sensitive and selective method for the spectrophotometric determination of palladium (II) using N,N,N′,N′-tetra(2-ethylhexyl) thiodiglycolamide T(2EH)TDGA as an extractant is described. Palladium (II) forms yellow colored complex with T(2EH)TDGA which exhibits an absorption maximum at ∼300 nm. The colored complex obeys Beer's law in the concentration range 1.0-15.0 μg ml−1 of palladium with a molar absorptivity of 1.29 × 105 M−1 cm−1. The effects of various experimental parameters have been studied to establish the optimum conditions for the extraction and determination of palladium. The precision of the method has been evaluated and the relative standard deviation has been found to be less than 0.5%. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of palladium in simulated high level liquid waste (SHLW) solution.  相似文献

A method is described for the selective extraction of chromium(III) from aqueous solutions and natural water samples, based on the use of two newly synthesized solid-phase extractors via silica gel-immobilized-vanillin derivatives (I,II). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of Cr(III) were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH values for the separation of Cr(III) simultaneously on the newly sorbents were both 4.0 and complete elution of Cr(III) from the sorbents surface was carried out using 2.0 mL of 0.5 mol L− 1 HCl. The sorption capacity of phase I towards Cr(III) was found to be 0.700 mmol g− 1 where the sorption capacity of phase II was 0.538 mmol g− 1. The detection limits (3σ) of the method defined by IUPAC were found to be 0.87 and 0.64 ng mL− 1 with enrichment factors of 100 and 75 for phases I and II, respectively. The method has been applied for the determination of Cr(III) in biological materials and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new gallium (Ga(III)) ion-imprinted multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composite sorbent was synthesized by a surface imprinting technique. The Ga(III) ion-imprinted/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Ga(III)-imprinted/CNTs) sorbent was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption experiment, static adsorption experiment, and solid-phase extraction (SPE) experiment. The effects of sample volume, sample pH, washing and elution conditions on the extraction of Ga(III) ion from real sample were studied in detail. The imprinted sorbent offered a fast kinetics for the adsorption of Ga(III). The maximum static adsorption capacity of the imprinted sorbent towards was 58.8 μmol g−1. The largest selectivity coefficient for Ga(III) in the presence of Al(III) was over 57.3. Compared with non-imprinted sorbent, the imprinted sorbent showed good imprinting effect for Ga(III) ion, the imprinting factor (α) was 2.6, the selectivity factor (β) was 2.4 and 2.9 for Al(III) and Zn(II), respectively. The developed imprinted SPE method was applied successfully to the detection of trace Ga(III) ion in fly ash samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

New ion-imprinted polymeric (IIP) materials were synthesized by copolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine (VP) and styrene as functional monomers and divinylbenzene as a cross-linking agent with chelating complexes of Pd(II) in the presence of 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator. The complexes of Pd(II) with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC), N,N′-diethylthiourea (DET), and dimethylglyoxime (DMG) were used for this purpose. Chloroform, ethanol, and cyclohexanol were applied as porogens. The ion-imprinted polymers were tested in a flow mode as sorbents for solid-phase extraction of palladium from aqueous solutions. The conditions of Pd(II) separation on all polymers were optimized. The efficiencies of retention of Pd on different polymers in the presence of high excess of interfering ions were compared. The effect of the used porogen on the analytical performance of the prepared polymers was also investigated. The calculated sorbent capacities for Pd(II) were in the range from 9.25 mg g−1 to 13.3 mg g−1. The sorbent with Pd(II) imprinted as Pd-DMG-VP complex in chloroform was used for preconcentration of trace amounts of Pd. The detection limit for 100 mL of the sample was 5 μg L−1 using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The developed method was applied for the determination of Pd in water samples.  相似文献

A new synthesized modified mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde (fural) was applied as an effective sorbent for the solid phase extraction of uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) ions from aqueous solution for the measurement by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). The influences of some analytical parameters on the quantitative recoveries of the analyte ions were investigated in batch method. Under optimal conditions, the analyte ions were sorbed by the sorbent at pH 5.5 and then eluted with 1.0 mL of 1.0 mol L−1 HNO3. The preconcentration factor was 100 for a 100 mL sample volume. The limits of detection (LOD) obtained for uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) were 0.3 μg L−1. The maximum sorption capacity of the modified MCM-41 was found to be 47 and 49 mg g−1 for uranium(VI) and thorium(IV), respectively. The sorbent exhibited good stability, reusability, high adsorption capacity and fast rate of equilibrium for sorption/desorption of uranium and thorium ions. The applicability of the synthesized sorbent was examined using CRM and real water samples.  相似文献

In this work, a new 2-(2-oxoethyl)hydrazine carbothioamide modified silica gel (SG-OHC) sorbent was prepared and applied for preconcentration of trace mercury(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The optimization of some analytical parameters affecting the adsorption of the analyte such as acidity, shaking time, sample flow rate and volume, eluent condition, and interfering substances were investigated. At pH 3, the maximum static adsorption capacity of Hg(II) onto the SG-OHC was 37.5 mg g−1. The quantitative recovery (>95%) of Hg(II) could be obtained using 2 mL of 0.5 mol L−1 HCl and 1% CS(NH2)2 solution as eluent. Common coexisting substances did not interfere with the separation of mercury(II) under optimal conditions. The detection limit of present method was 0.10 ng mL−1, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was lower than 4.0% (n = 8). The prepared sorbent was successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace Hg(II) in certified and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The procedure is based on the selective sorption of Co(II) ions using magnetic chitosan nanoparticles grafted with β-cyclodextrin at different pH followed by elution with organic eluents and determination by atomic absorption spectrometry The preconcentration factor was 100 (1 mL elution volume) for a 100 mL sample volume. The limit of detection of the proposed method is 1.0 ng mL?1. The maximum sorption capacity of sorbent under optimum conditions has been found to be 5 mg of Co per gram of sorbent. The relative standard deviation under optimum conditions was 3.0% (n = 10). The novel molecularly imprinted microsphere (MIM) that could be applied as special sorbent was synthesized by aqueous suspension polymerization using 1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethane (α-chloro-DDT) as the dummy template. The obtained MIM exhibited good recognition and selectivity to dicofol and it was successfully applied as selective sorbent of solid-phase extraction for the determination of dicofol from aquatic products. At the optimum conditions of the molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction (MISPE) coupled with GC-ECD, good linearity for dicofol was achieved in a range of 0.4-100 ng g−1 (r2 = 0.9995) and the recoveries at three spiked levels were ranged from 85.8% to 101.2% for aquatic products with the relative standard deviation (RSD) less than 5.6%. The presented MISPE-GC-ECD method exhibited the advantages of simplicity, selectivity and sensitivity, and could be potentially applied to the determination of dicofol in complicated aquatic products.  相似文献

In this study a method for the determination of cadmium in fuel alcohol using solid-phase extraction with a flow injection analysis system and detection by flame atomic absorption spectrometry was developed. The sorbent material used was a vermicompost commonly used as a garden fertilizer. The chemical and flow variables of the on-line preconcentration system were optimized by means of a full factorial design. The selected factors were: sorbent mass, sample pH, buffer concentration and sample flow rate. The optimum extraction conditions were obtained using sample pH in the range of 7.3-8.3 buffered with tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane at 50 mmol L−1, a sample flow rate of 4.5 mL min−1 and 160 mg of sorbent mass. With the optimized conditions, the preconcentration factor, limit of detection and sample throughput were estimated as 32 (for preconcentration of 10 mL sample), 1.7 μg L−1 and 20 samples per hour, respectively. The analytical curve was linear from 5 up to at least 50 μg L−1, with a correlation coefficient of 0.998 and a relative standard deviation of 2.4% (35 μg L−1, n = 7). The developed method was successfully applied to spiked fuel alcohol, and accuracy was assessed through recovery tests, with recovery ranging from 94% to 100%.  相似文献

A sensitive and efficient flow injection preconcentration and matrix-separation technique using exfoliated graphite (EG) as column material was developed prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) determination of palladium(II) in street/fan blade dust and rock samples. The method is based on the sorption of palladium(II)—diethylammonium dithiocarbamate chelate (which was found to be better among various thioligands) complex on to EG material and its subsequent elution with acidified methanol (0.01 M HCl in methanol). Using 8 ml of the sample, the detection limit achieved was 1.0 μg l−1. The accuracy of the method developed was checked by analysing certified reference material SARM-7. The precision obtained for five successive determination of 100 μg l−1 of palladium(II) was 2.4%. The performance of EG material was compared with allotropes of carbon in terms of pH, chelate concentration, weight of column material, sensitivity enhancement (w.r.t. conventional FAAS), detection limit, calibration range, selectivity and precision. Furthermore, performance of the EG material packed column was compared with commercially available C18 bonded silica gel/alumina columns for on-line FIA-FAAS determination of palladium(II).  相似文献

A preconcentration method based on the adsorption of palladium-dimethylglyoxime (DMG) complex on silica gel for the determination of palladium at trace levels by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) has been developed. The retained palladium as Pd(DMG)2 complex was eluted with 1 mol l−1 HCl in acetone. The effect of some analytical parameters such as pH, amount of reagent and the sample volume on the recovery of palladium was examined in synthetic solutions containing street dust matrix. The influence of some matrix ions on the recovery of palladium was investigated by using the developed method when the elements were present both individually and together. The results showed that 2500 μg ml−1 Na+, K+, Mg2+, Al3+ and Fe3+; 5000 μg ml−1 Ca2+ ; 500 μg ml−1 Pb2+; 125 μg ml−1 Zn2+; 50 μg ml−1 Cu2+ and 25 μg ml−1 Ni2+ did not interfere with the palladium signal. At the optimum conditions determined experimentally, the recovery for palladium was found to be 95.3±1.2% at the 95% confidence level. The relative standard deviation and limit of detection (3s/b) of the method were found to be 1.7% and 1.2 μg l−1, respectively. In order to determine the adsorption behaviour of silica gel, the adsorption isotherm of palladium was studied and the binding equilibrium constant and adsorption capacity were calculated to be 0.38 l mg−1 and 4.06 mg g−1, respectively. The determination of palladium in various samples was performed by using both flame AAS and graphite furnace AAS. The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of palladium in the street dust, anode slime, rock and catalytic converter samples.  相似文献

A flow injection analysis (FIA) method using on-line separation and preconcentration with a novel metal scavenger beads, QuadraSil™ TA, has been developed for the ICP-OES determination of traces of palladium. QuadraSil TA contains diethylenetriamine as a functional group on spherical silica beads and shows the highest selectivity for Pd(II) at pH 1 (0.1 mol l−1 hydrochloric acid) solution. An aliquot of the sample solution prepared as 0.1 mol l−1 in hydrochloric acid was passed through the QuadraSil TA column. After washing the column with the carrier solution, the Pd(II) retained on the column was eluted with 0.05 mol l−1 thiourea solution and the eluate was directly introduced into an ICP-OES. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of traces of palladium in JSd-2 stream sediment certified reference material [0.019 ± 0.001 μg g−1 (n = 3); provisional value: 0.0212 μg g−1] and SRM 2556 used auto catalyst certified reference material [315 ± 4 μg g−1 (n = 4); certified value: 326 μg g−1]. The detection limit (3σ) of 0.28 ng ml−1 was obtained for 5 ml of sample solution. The sample throughputs for 5 ml and 100 μl of the sample solutions were 10 and 15 h−1, respectively.  相似文献

Graphene, a novel class of carbon nanostructures, has great promise for use as sorbent materials because of its ultrahigh specific surface area. A new method using a column packed with graphene as sorbent was developed for the preconcentration of trace amounts of lead (Pb) using dithizone as chelating reagent prior to its determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Some effective parameters on the extraction and complex formation were selected and optimized. Under optimum conditions, the calibration graph was linear in the concentration range of 10.0–600.0 μg L−1 with a detection limit of 0.61 μg L−1. The relative standard deviation for ten replicate measurements of 20.0 and 400.0 μg L−1 of Pb were 3.56 and 3.25%, respectively. Comparative studies showed that graphene is superior to other adsorbents including C18 silica, graphitic carbon, and single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes for the extraction of Pb. The proposed method was successfully applied in the analysis of environmental water and vegetable samples. Good spiked recoveries over the range of 95.3–100.4% were obtained. This work not only proposes a useful method for sample preconcentration, but also reveals the great potential of graphene as an excellent sorbent material in analytical processes.  相似文献

The paper reports preparation and analytical features of a new Cu(II)-imprinted polymer, based on salen-OMe ligand 2,2′-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo(E)methylylidene)]bis(6-allyl-4-methoxyphenol) and styrene-divinylbenzene matrix, as well as its application to on-line preconcentration and flame atomic absorption determination of copper. Sorbent beads (average diameter of 60-80 µm) were obtained using suspension polymerization technique and employed as a column filling. Copper sorption was the most effective at pH 6.8, whereas the highest elution effectiveness was observed when 0.5% HNO3 was applied. The sorbent exhibited good long-term stability and acid resistance. Enrichment factor (EF) of 12 was found for 60 s loading time and loading flow rate of 4 mL min− 1. EF value may be further increased by expanding the loading time and/or flow rate. Batch sorbent capacity in optimal pH conditions was found to be 0.16 mmol g− 1 (9.55 mg g− 1) of a dry polymer. Calcium(II) turned out to be the only significant interferent. Cadmium(II), silver(I), nickel(II), zinc(II) in concentrations lower than about 1 mg L− 1 did not disturb copper(II) preconcentration. Different calibration methods such as: set of standards method (SSM), standard addition method (SAM) and combinatory calibration method (CCM) were employed for copper(II) determination in tap water, spring mineral water and certified reference material. Analysis of EU-H-3 reference material confirmed good accuracy of the proposed method. Relative standard deviation (RSD) was 3.2 for standard addition method and 2.8% for set of standard calibration method. Detection limit for sample consumption 16 mL was 1.03 and 1.07 µgL-1 respectively.  相似文献
