In this paper we introduce the notion of a Borell-Brascamp-Lieb inequality for metric measure spaces (M,d,m) denoted by BBL(K,N) for two numbers K,N ∈ ℝ with N ≥ 1. In the first part we prove that BBL(K,N) holds true on metric measure spaces satisfying a curvature-dimension condition CD(K,N) developed and studied by Lott and Villani in (Ann Math 169:903–991, 2007) as well as by Sturm in (Acta Math 196(1):133–177, 2006). The aim of the second part is to show that BBL(K,N) is stable under convergence of metric measure spaces with respect to the L 2-transportation distance.  相似文献

We introduce a curvature-dimension condition CD (K, N) for metric measure spaces. It is more restrictive than the curvature bound (introduced in [Sturm K-T (2006) On the geometry of metric measure spaces. I. Acta Math 196:65–131]) which is recovered as the borderline case CD(K, ∞). The additional real parameter N plays the role of a generalized upper bound for the dimension. For Riemannian manifolds, CD(K, N) is equivalent to and dim(M) ⩽ N. The curvature-dimension condition CD(K, N) is stable under convergence. For any triple of real numbers K, N, L the family of normalized metric measure spaces (M, d, m) with CD(K, N) and diameter ⩽ L is compact. Condition CD(K, N) implies sharp version of the Brunn–Minkowski inequality, of the Bishop–Gromov volume comparison theorem and of the Bonnet–Myers theorem. Moreover, it implies the doubling property and local, scale-invariant Poincaré inequalities on balls. In particular, it allows to construct canonical Dirichlet forms with Gaussian upper and lower bounds for the corresponding heat kernels.  相似文献

We solve the classification problem and essentially the spectrum problem for universal theories (see [6] for discussion of the meaning of this). We first solve it forT such that ifM 1,M 2 elementarily extendM 0 and are independent over it, then overM 0M 1 there is a prime model. This generalizes [2]. This was subsequently used and generalized for countable first order theories. (This will appear in [5].) But note that there the theory is countable and in the case of structure the model is prime over a non-forking tree of models; here the model is generated by the union (and theT not necessarily countable). The universality is used in Theorey.If T is stable and complete then either (A)for every M 1<M (l=0, 1, 2)models of T, if M 0M 1,M 2, {M 1,M 2}is independent over M 0 (i.e. tp(M 1,M 2)is finitely satisfiable in M 0),then the submodel of M which M 1M 2 generates is an elementary submodel of M, or (B)there is an unstable theory extending the universal part of T (we can replace universal by Σ2 and slightly more). Conclusion. For any universalT:Either (a) for every modelM ofT there is a treeI with ≦ω levels and submodelsN η (ηI) of power ≦2|T| (by [5], just ≦|T|) such that (i)M is generated by ∪ηεl N η, (ii)η <v⇒⇒N η, (iii) ifv is an immediate successor ofη then tp(N v, ⋃{{N p:ρI,v≨ϱ}) is finitely satisfiable inN η (note that asking this just for quantifier-free formulas is enough).Or (b) for every cardinalλ>|T|, there are 2γ non-isomorphic models for powerλ.  This paper is concerned with the approximation of the effective conductivity σ(A, μ) associated to an elliptic operator ∇ xA (x,η)∇ x where for xℝ d , d≥1, A(x,η) is a bounded elliptic random symmetric d×d matrix and η takes value in an ergodic probability space (X, μ). Writing A N (x, η) the periodization of A(x, η) on the torus T d N of dimension d and side N we prove that for μ-almost all η
We extend this result to non-symmetric operators ∇ x (a+E(x, η))∇ x corresponding to diffusions in ergodic divergence free flows (a is d×d elliptic symmetric matrix and E(x, η) an ergodic skew-symmetric matrix); and to discrete operators corresponding to random walks on ℤ d with ergodic jump rates. The core of our result is to show that the ergodic Weyl decomposition associated to 2(X, μ) can almost surely be approximated by periodic Weyl decompositions with increasing periods, implying that semi-continuous variational formulae associated to 2(X, μ) can almost surely be approximated by variational formulae minimizing on periodic potential and solenoidal functions. In "Elements of small orders in K2(F)" (Algebraic K-Theory, Lecture Notes in Math., 966, 1982, 1-6.), the author investigates elements of the form {a, Φn(a)} in the Milnor group K2F of a field F, where Φn(x) is the n-th cyclotomic polynomial. In this paper, these elements are generalized. Applying the explicit formulas of Rosset and Tate for the transfer homomorphism for K2, the author proves some new results on elements of small orders in K2F.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the random sums of i.i.d. random variables ξ 1,ξ 2,... with consistent variation. Asymptotic behavior of the tail P(ξ1 + ... + ξη > x), where η is independent of ξ 1,ξ 2,..., is obtained for different cases of the interrelationships between the tails of ξ 1 and η. Applications to the asymptotic behavior of the finite-time ruin probability ψ(x,t) in a compound renewal risk model, earlier introduced by Tang et al. (Stat Probab Lett 52, 91–100 (2001)), are given. The asymptotic relations, as initial capital x increases, hold uniformly for t in a corresponding region. These asymptotic results are illustrated in several examples.   相似文献

We are concerned with the limit distribution of l t -norms (of order t) of samples of i.i.d. positive random variables, as N→∞, t→∞. The problem was first considered by Schlather [(2001), Ann. Probab. 29, 862–881], but the case where {X i } belong to the domain of attraction of Gumbel’s double exponential law (in the sense of extreme value theory) has largely remained open (even for an exponential distribution). In this paper, it is assumed that the log-tail distribution function is regularly varying at infinity with index . We proceed from studying the limit distribution of the sums , which is of interest in its own right. A proper growth scale of N relative to t appears to be of the form (). We show that there are two critical points, α1 = 1 and α2 = 2, below which the law of large numbers and the central limit theorem, respectively, break down. For α < 2, under a slightly stronger condition of normalized regular variation of h, we prove that the limit laws for S N (t) are stable, with characteristic exponent and skewness parameter . A complete picture of the limit laws for the norms R N (t) = S N (t)1/t is then derived. In particular, our results corroborate a conjecture in Schlather [(2001), Ann. Probab. 29, 862–881] regarding the “endpoints” , α→ 0.   相似文献

The Volterra integral equation of the second order with a regular singularity is considered. Under the conditions that a kernel K(x,t) is a real matrix function of order n×n with continuous partial derivatives up to order N+1 inclusively and K(0,0) has complex eigenvalues ν±i μ (ν>0), it is shown that if ν>2|‖K|‖ C -N-1, then a given equation has two linearly independent solutions. A graded K-algebra R has property N p if it is generated in degree 1, has relations in degree 2 and the syzygies of order ≤ p on the relations are linear. The Green–Lazarsfeld index of R is the largest p such that it satisfies the property N p . Our main results assert that (under a mild assumption on the base field) the cth Veronese subring of a polynomial ring has Green–Lazarsfeld index ≥ c + 1. The same conclusion also holds for an arbitrary standard graded algebra, provided c >> 0{c\gg 0}.  相似文献

For κ ⩾ 0 and r0 > 0 let ℳ(n, κ, r0) be the set of all connected, compact n-dimensional Riemannian manifolds (Mn, g) with Ricci (M, g) ⩾ −(n−1) κ g and Inj (M) ⩾ r0. We study the relation between the kth eigenvalue λk(M) of the Laplacian associated to (Mn,g), Δ = −div(grad), and the kth eigenvalue λk(X) of a combinatorial Laplacian associated to a discretization X of M. We show that there exist constants c, C > 0 (depending only on n, κ and r0) such that for all M ∈ ℳ(n, κ, r0) and X a discretization of for all k < |X|. Then, we obtain the same kind of result for two compact manifolds M and N ∈ ℳ(n, κ, r0) such that the Gromov–Hausdorff distance between M and N is smaller than some η > 0. We consider the problem of estimating the discriminant coefficients, η=∑1-(1)(2)) based on two independent normal samples fromN p (1),∑) andN p (2),∑). We are concerned with the estimation of η as the gradient of log-odds between two extreme situations. A decision theoretic approach is taken with the quadratic loss function. We derive the unbiased estimator of the essential part of the risk which is applicable for general estimators. We study the periodic solution of a perturbed regularized Boussinesq system (Bona et al., J. Nonlinear Sci. 12:283–318, 2002, Bona et al., Nonlinearity 17:925–952, 2004), namely the system η t +u x +β(−η xxt +u xxx )+α((ηu) x +ηη x +uu x )=0,u t +η x +β(η xxx u xxt )+α((ηu) x +ηη x +uu x )=0, with 0<α,β≤1. We consider the random variable ζ = ξ1ρ+ξ2ρ2+…, where ξ1, ξ2, … are independent identically distibuted random variables taking the values 0 and 1 with probabilities P(ξi = 0) = p0, P(ξi = 1) = p1, 0 < p0 < 1. Let β = 1/ρ be the golden number. The Fibonacci expansion for a random point ρζ from [0, 1] is of the form η1ρ + η2ρ2 + … where the random variables ηk are {0, 1}-valued and ηkηk+1 = 0. The infinite random word η = η1η2 … ηn … takes values in the Fibonacci compactum and determines the so-called Erdős measure μ(A) = P(η ∈ A) on it. The invariant Erdős measure is the shift-invariant measure with respect to which the Erdős measure is absolutely continuous. We show that the Erdős measures are sofic. Recall that a sofic system is a symbolic system that is a continuous factor of a topological Markov chain. A sofic measure is a one-block (or symbol-to-symbol) factor of the measure corresponding to a homogeneous Markov chain. For the Erdős measures, the corresponding regular Markov chain has 5 states. This gives ergodic properties of the invariant Erdős measure. We give a new ergodic theory proof of the singularity of the distribution of the random variable ζ. Our method is also applicable when ξ1, ξ2, … is a stationary Markov chain with values 0, 1. In particular, we prove that the distribution of ζ is singular and that the Erdős measures appear as the result of gluing together states in a regular Markov chain with 7 states. A one-term Edgeworth expansion for U-statistics with kernel h(x, y) was derived by Jing and Wang [3] under optimal moment conditions.
