The thermodynamics and structure of the surface adsorbed phase in binary C15-C16 and C15-C17 n-alkane mixtures confined in graphite pores have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry and small-angle X-ray scattering. The previously observed selective adsorption of the longer alkane for chain length differences greater than five carbon atoms is verified but reduced for chain length differences less than or equal to two. With a difference in chain length of one carbon atom, Vegard's law is followed for the melting points of the adsorbed mixture and the (0 2) d-spacing is a continuous function of the mole fraction x. With a two-carbon atom difference, samples aged for 1 week have a lamellar structure for which the entities A1−xBx try to be commensurate with the substrate. The same samples aged for 1 month show a continuous parabolic x-dependence for both the melting points and the d-spacings. An explanation in terms of selective probability of adsorption is proposed based on crystallographic considerations.  相似文献

A series of ZSM-5 zeolites were synthesized by adding triethoxyphenylsilane (PTEOS) into the initial sol of the synthesis system. The samples were studied by XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption-desorption and acid assessment of d3-acetonitrile adsorption. Characterization results showed that the crystal size of the ZSM-5 zeolites could be adjusted in a certain range by introducing different contents of PTEOS. Besides, the resultant materials possess hierarchical porosity in addition to those micropores generated by the MFI channels. Moreover, supported Mo/ZSM-5 catalysts were prepared, and their catalytic performances were investigated in the methane non-oxidative aromatization. It was found that the Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst, bearing suitable crystal size and mesoporous characteristic showed relatively high shape-selectivity to benzene and high stability for the reaction of methane aromatization.  相似文献

The translational and rotational dynamics of n-hexane adsorbed in ZSM-5 and 5A zeolites has been studied by neutron scattering and deuterium solid-state NMR, at various temperatures. The dynamics of n-hexane is quite different in the two zeolites. In the ZSM-5 structure, the molecule sits in channel segments, the energy barrier between adjacent adsorption sites is small and fast anisotropic motions are observed. In the 5A zeolite, the molecule is adsorbed in -cages; the barrier between adjacent cages is larger so that the molecule spends a longer time exploring the volume of an -cage, leading to a more isotropic motion. The diffusion coefficient of the molecule is reduced by more than 4 orders of magnitude in 5A zeolite compared with ZSM-5.Received: 1 January 2003, Published online: 14 October 2003PACS: 82.75.Jn Measurements and modeling of molecule migration in zeolites - 61.12.Ex Neutron scattering techniques (including small-angle scattering) - 76.60.-k Nuclear magnetic resonance and relaxation  相似文献

We report on the observation of new phenomena that arise under Cs adsorption on n-GaN(0001) and n-InGaN(0001) surfaces. First, an extremely highly quantum efficient photoemission has been found by excitation with visible light in the transparency region of GaN and InGaN. The photoemission is revealed to appear due to the formation of an electron accumulation layer in the vicinity of the surfaces. Second, a large variety of band bending and potential wells are provided by the Cs coverages. The accumulated charge density at the n-InGaN surface is much stronger than that at the n-GaN surface. Third, a new effect is revealed, namely, the appearance of an oscillation structure in the spectral dependences of the threshold photoemission. A model concept is proposed for photocurrent oscillations that takes into account the formation of an accumulation layer and the multiple-beam interference in parallel-sided GaN or InGaN samples.  相似文献

Hydration of the ammonium form of the solid acid catalyst ZSM-5 is investigated by applying a technique that has been developed recently for carrying out in situ solid-state NMR studies of adsorption processes. From 1H MAS NMR spectra recorded as a function of time and temperature during the hydration process, insights are established on the nature of the interaction between the adsorbed water molecules and the ammonium cations in the ZSM-5 material. The change in isotropic chemical shift for the ammonium cations is consistent with the formation of N–H?O hydrogen bonding with the water molecules. Studies of the adsorption of deuterated water, and dehydration of the hydrated material, are also reported.  相似文献

Dynamic Monte Carlo simulations for the open coarse-grained model of MFI type zeolite were used to study the dynamics of adsorption and diffusion of n-butane in silicalite-1. We demonstrated the influence of the confinement of the structure of zeolite channels on both the dynamics of the adsorption process and the maximum loading of adsorbate. We showed that the confinement and channel blocking limit the adsorption and desorption processes. Moreover, they cause the maximum loading in the zeolite structure for moderate pressures to be higher than the one predicted by the Langmuir model for a flat and homogeneous system.  相似文献

Two-dimensional ordered patterns of n-tetradecane (n-C14H30) and n-hexadecane (n-C16H34) molecules at liquid/graphite interface have been directly imaged using scanning tunneling microscope (STM) under ambient conditions. STM images reveal that the two different kinds of molecules self-organize into ordered lamellar structures in which alkane chains of the molecules extend along one of three equivalent lattice axes of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) basal plane. For n-C14H30 molecules, the molecular axes are observed to tilt by 60° with respect to inter-lamellar trough lines and the carbon backbones of the alkane chains are perpendicular to the HOPG basal plane in an all-trans conformation. However, for n-C16H34 molecules, the molecular axes are perpendicular to lamellar borders (90°) and the planes of the all-trans carbon skeletons are parallel to the graphite basal plane. The results clearly indicate that outmost hydrogen atoms of the alkane chains dominate atom-scaled features of the STM images. That is, in the case of long-chain alkane molecules, topographic effects dominantly determine STM image contrast of the methylene regions of the alkane chains that are adsorbed on HOPG.  相似文献

The adsorption of the model sulfur compound dibenzothiophene (DBT) from n-octane solution on to bamboo charcoal (BC) was investigated. The equilibrium and kinetics of DBT adsorption on BC were examined. Adsorption isotherm of DBT on BC was determined and correlated with two well-known isotherm equations (Langmuir and Freundlich). The equilibrium data for DBT adsorption fitted the Freundlich model well. Two simplified kinetic models including pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order equations were selected to follow the adsorption processes. The adsorption of DBT on BC can be best described by a pseudo second-order equation. The parameters of this best-fit kinetic model were calculated and discussed.  相似文献

A combination of 27Al magic-angle spinning (MAS)/multiple-quantum (MQ) MAS, and 27Al–{14N} TRAnsfer of Population in DOuble-Resonance (TRAPDOR) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to study aluminium environments in zeolite ZSM-5. 27Al–{14N} TRAPDOR experiments, in combination with 14N NMR were employed to show that the two tetrahedral peaks observed in the 27Al MAS/3Q-MAS spectra of as-synthesized ZSM-5 are due to aluminium atoms occupying crystallographically inequivalent T-sites. A 13C–{27Al} TRAPDOR experiment was used to study the template, tetrapropyl ammonium bromide (TPABr), in the three-dimensional pore system of ZSM-5. The inequivalency of the methyl groups of TPA was observed in the 13C–{27Al} TRAPDOR spectra of as-synthesized ZSM-5 and the motion of the methyl end of the propyl chain appeared to be more restricted in the sinusoidal channel than in the straight channel.  相似文献

Multilayer relaxation at high-index Cu(n, n−1, 0) (n=2, 3 and 4) stepped surfaces was determined by the first-principles pseudopotential plane wave (PPPW) method. For those surfaces that have n and n−1 atom-rows in terrace and subterrace, respectively, the topmost 2n−2 interlayer spacings contract, while the 2n−1st interlayer spacing expands. There is no similar rule found for the relaxations parallel to the surfaces. Compared with the bulk terminated structure, a thin compact layer, which consisted of the topmost 2n−1 atom layers and separated slightly from the underneath atom layers, makes the surface more flat after relaxation. The bond-lengths between the step edge (first layer) atom and its nearest-neighbors do not depend on the surface termination, but only on the local coordination.  相似文献

Theoretical studies of the behaviour of an adsorption system MFI/n-hexane were performed with a molecular dynamic method. Investigation of influence of isomorphous substitution on diffusion coefficients was the main objective. It was found that the presence of metals other than silicon in the zeolite framework might cause an increase in the diffusion coefficients. However, it is small, independently of the adsorption level.  相似文献

A plane-wave density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been performed to investigate structural and electronic properties of TaSin (n = 1-3, 12) clusters supported by graphene surface. The resulting adsorption structures are described and discussed in terms of stability, bonding, and electron transfer between the cluster and the graphene. The TaSin clusters on graphene surface favor their free-standing ground-state structures. Especially in the cases of the linear TaSi2 and the planar TaSi3, the graphene surface may catalyze the transition of the TaSin clusters from an isomer of lower dimensionality into the ground-state structure. The adsorption site and configuration of TaSin on graphene surface are dominated by the interaction between Ta atom and graphene. Ta atom prefers to adsorb on the hollow site of graphene, and Si atoms tend to locate on the bridge site. Further, the electron transfer is found to proceed from the cluster to the surface for n = 1 and 2, while its direction reverses as n > 2. For the case of TaSi, chemisorption is shown to prevail over physisorption as the dominant mode of surface-adsorbate interaction by charge density analysis.  相似文献

Using the transfer matrix method, we investigate the electron transmission over multiple-well semiconductor superlattices with Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling in the potential-well regions. The superlattice structure enhances the effect of spin polarization in the transmission spectrum. The minibands of multiple-well superlattices for electrons with different spin can be completely separated at the low incident energy, leading to the 100% spin polarization in a broad energy windows, which may be an effective scheme for realizing spin filtering. Moreover, for the transmission over n-quantum-well, it is observed that the resonance peaks in the minibands split into n-folds or (n−1)-folds depending on the well-width and barrier-thickness, which is different from the case of tunneling through n-barrier structure.  相似文献

Methyl radical concentration time-histories were measured during the oxidation and pyrolysis of iso-octane and n-heptane behind reflected shock waves. Initial reflected shock conditions covered temperatures of 1100-1560 K, pressures of 1.6-2.0 atm and initial fuel concentrations of 100-500 ppm. Methyl radicals were detected using cw UV laser absorption near 216 nm; three wavelengths were used to compensate for time- and wavelength-dependent interference absorption. Methyl time-histories were compared to the predictions of several current oxidation models. While some agreement was found between modeling and measurement in the early rise, peak and plateau values of methyl, and in the ignition time, none of the current mechanisms accurately recover all of these features. Sensitivity analysis of the ignition times for both iso-octane and n-heptane showed a strong dependence on the reaction C3H5 + H = C3H4 + H2, and a recommended rate was found for this reaction. Sensitivity analysis of the initial rate of CH3 production during pyrolysis indicated that for both iso-octane and n-heptane, reaction rates for the initial decomposition channels are well isolated, and overall values for these rates were obtained. The present concentration time-history data provide strong constraints on the reaction mechanisms of both iso-octane and n-heptane oxidation, and in conjunction with OH concentration time-histories and ignition delay times, recently measured in our laboratory, should provide a self-consistent set of kinetic targets for the validation and refinement of iso-octane and n-heptane reaction mechanisms.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis and characterization of self-assembled organic-inorganic layered perovskite compounds, (C6H5-CnH2n-NH3)2PbBr4 (n=1-4). the effect of the number of carbon atoms of the alkyl chain length (n) on optical properties has been studied. (C6H5-CnH2n-NH3)2PbBr4 films fabricated by spin-coating are microcrystalline form, single phase and oriented with the c-axis. Crystallinity, the maximum PL intensity and the lifetime of exciton emissions varied with the number of carbon atoms. the lowest-energy exciton splits into a few fine-structure levels at low temperatures. Time-resolved photoluminescence spectra reveal that (C6H5-CnH2n-NH3)2PbBr4 shows both singlet and triplet excitons. with decreasing temperature, triplet exciton emissions become dominant for (C6H5-CnH2n-NH3)2PbBr4 (n=1-3), while (C6H5-C4H8-NH3)2PbBr4 shows mainly singlet exciton emissions. The intersystem crossing from excited singlet state to triplet state plays an important role in the relaxation process of excitons.  相似文献

The nature of the NOx species produced during the adsorption of NO at room temperature and during its coadsorption with oxygen on LaMnAl11O19 sample with magnetoplumbite structure obtained by a sol-gel process has been investigated by means of in situ FT-IR spectroscopy. The adsorption of NO leads to formation of anionic nitrosyls and/or cis-hyponitrite ions and reveals the presence of coordinatively unsaturated Mn3+ ions. Upon NO/O2 adsorption at room temperature various nitro-nitrato structures are observed. The nitro-nitrato species produced with the participation of electrophilic oxygen species decompose at 350 °C directly to N2 and O2. No NO decomposition is observed in absence of molecular oxygen. The adsorbed nitro-nitrato species are inert towards the interaction with methane and block the active sites (Mn3+ ions) for its oxidation. Noticeable oxidation of the methane on the NOx-precovered sample is observed at temperatures higher than 350 °C due to the liberation of the active sites as a result of decomposition of the surface nitro-nitrato species. Mechanism explaining the promoting effect of the molecular oxygen in the NO decomposition is proposed.  相似文献

n-Dodecanethiol (RSH) and n-dodecaneselenol (RSeH) molecules have been self-assembled on electrochemically reduced copper sheets. To assess the stability of the resulting monolayers, immersion, during different times varying from minutes to hours, of the modified copper in a solution which contains the competitor molecule has been performed. PM-IRRAS shows a good organisation for all monolayers without any divergence. Based on XPS analysis, we have proved an intercalation process of RSeH molecules followed by adsorption on the free sites of copper modified with the RSH and in similar way the insertion and adsorption of RSH molecules in the RSeH modified copper. The only difference between the two directions is in the kinetics which seems to be faster for thiol compared to selenol.  相似文献

In this study, we found that the double metal contact structure in Pt/Al/n-InP diodes provides better rectification characteristics than conventional single-metal/n-InP Schottky diodes. The effective barrier height was measured to be 0.67 eV for a 400 °C-annealed Pt/Al/n-InP diode sample. The increase in the barrier height is attributed to the formation of Al2O3 at the metal/n-InP contact interface during thermal annealing. The formation of the phase Al2O3 phase was monitored by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The corresponding element profiles of Al and O were also confirmed at the metal/n-InP contact interface using secondary ion mass spectrum (SIMS) analysis. The lowering of the Schottky barrier height due to the inhomogeneity at the metal/n-InP junction is also discussed on the basis of the TE theory. The distribution of local effective Schottky barrier heights was explained by a model incorporating the existence of double Gaussian barrier heights, which represent the high barrier and low barrier of the full distribution in the temperature ranges of 83-198 and 198-300 K.  相似文献

An all-electron scalar relativistic calculation on AunH2S (n = 1-13) clusters has been performed by using density functional theory with the generalized gradient approximation at PW91 level. The small gold cluster would like to bond with sulfur in the same plane and the H2S molecule prefers to occupy the on-top and single fold coordination site in the cluster. The Aun structures and H2S molecule in all AunH2S clusters are only slightly perturbed and still maintain their structural integrity. After adsorption, the S-H, H-H bond-lengths and most Au-Au bond-lengths are elongated, only a few Au-Au bond-lengths far from H2S molecule are shortened. The reactivity enhancement of H2S molecule is obvious and the strong gold-sulfur bond is observed expectedly. The most favorable adsorption takes place in the case that the H2S molecule is adsorbed by an even-numbered Aun cluster and becomes AunH2S cluster with even number of valence electrons. It is believed that the strong scalar relativistic effect is favorable to H2S molecule adsorption onto small gold clusters and is also one of the important reasons for the strong gold-sulfur bond.  相似文献

Equilibrium geometries, relative stabilities, and magnetic properties of small AunMn (n=1-8) clusters have been investigated using density functional theory at the PW91P86 level. It is found that Mn atoms in the ground state AunMn isomers tend to occupy the most highly coordinated position and the lowest energy structure of AunMn clusters with even n is similar to that of pure Aun+1 clusters, except for n=2. The substitution of Au atom in Aun+1 cluster by a Mn atom improves the stability of the host clusters. Maximum peaks are observed for AunMn clusters at n=2, 4 on the size dependence of second-order energy differences and fragmentation energies, implying that the two clusters possess relatively higher stability. The HOMO-LUMO energy gaps of the ground state AunMn clusters show a pronounced odd-even oscillation with the number of Au atoms, and the energy gap of Au2Mn cluster is the biggest among all the clusters. The magnetism calculations indicate that the total magnetic moment of AunMn cluster, which has a very large magnetic moment in comparison to the pure Aun+1 cluster, is mainly localized on Mn atom.  相似文献
