Using Van Vleck's modification of the Heisenberg theory of ferro-magnetism for substances with arbitrary spin per atom, a generalization of the theory is given for the case of ferrimagnetics, anti-ferromagnetics and thin films with an arbitrary number of sub-lattices and with arbitrary spin per atom. The exchange part of the energy operator is formulated by means of rotated spin operators. The theory contains the quantum-mechanical generalization of non-quantum theories given by Néel and later generalized by Yafet and Kittel. It also contains the theory of thin films proposed recently by the author. The magnetization laws are completely analogous to the relations derived from the theory of molecular fields. The constants of the molecular fields are interpreted by means of exchange integrals. For the special case of spin S=1/2the theory agrees with the results of the work of Vlasov and Imuchametov for ferrimagnetics and anti-ferromagnetics and with the author's for thin films.

The change in frequency of quartz piezoelectric resonators in a d-c electric polarizing field cannot be explained merely by a change in the dimensions of the resonator due to the polarizing field caused by the inverse piezoelectric effect and electrostriction. We are forced to admit that the elastic constants also change in a polarizing field. A phenomenological interpretation of the influence of a d-c electric polarizing field on the frequency of quartz resonators is proposed here, based on newly introduced quantities characterizing such a change. In conclusion it is shown in what way the quantities, on which the phenomenological theory is based, can be determined experimentally.

The magnetic properties of thin ferromagnetic films are studied taking into account the magnetic anisotropy term in the Hamiltonian. In the second approximation equations are obtained for the magnetization of the monatomic layers parallel to the surface of the thin film. From these equations one obtains the Curie temperature, which depends on the thickness of the thin film and the ratio a between the anisotropy constant and the exchange energy between two neighbours. A value can be chosen for such that the thin film becomes ferromagnetic only for a thickness greater than a definite value and in this manner the theoretical results can be fitted to the experimental data. The situation in cobalt thin films is dealt with in particular.

The influence of weak ultra-violet irradiation on the brightness waves of electroluminescence is investigated for two types of ZnS-Cuphosphors. The observed effects (increase in brightness in the primary peak and its phase shift, the disappearance of the secondary peak) are explained on the basis of present-day conceptions on electroluminescence.

A study is made of the Shockley surface states in a linear chain of equal atoms, joined by alternately strong bonds. If the simple MO LCAO method is used, which considers the exchange integrals between nearest neighbours and next nearest neighbours, we get the surface states for a semi-infinite chain if the stronger bond is interrupted. The connection between Shockley and Tamm surface states is shown and the hypothesis is put forward that the condition for the existence of Shockley surface states has a generally simple physical interpretation, the validity of which is proved on the models of a semi-infinite crystal studied up to now.

The error probability for a coherent optical heterodyne FSK system with a limiter-discriminator-integrator (LDI) detector is analysed. The analysis includes laser quantum phase noise, the correlated receiver additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), Gaussian narrow-band IF filtering and intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by it. It is shown that, for 1 dBEb/N 0penalty at bit error rate (BER) 10–9, (i) the normalized IF beat spectral linewidth T0.35% for frequency deviation ratioh=0.5(MSK), and T0.5% forh=0.7 (the receiver is insensitive to laser quantum phase noise ath=1.0, if ISI is not included.); (ii) if ISI is incorporated, T0.15% forh=0.5, T0.5% forh=0.7, both with 3dB bandwidth-bit period product (3.0>BT1.5), and T0.5% forh=1.0 with BT1.0 ifT0.35% when ISI exists,h=0.7 is optimum;h=1.0 otherwise.  相似文献

The possibility of explaining non-zero electroluminescence brightness below the minimum ionization voltage by the influence of thermal velocities of electrons is pointed out; the derived voltage dependence of electroluminescence brightness agrees with the measurements in [1].

The damping of particle oscillations in a general field with periodic structure I
A liner theory is derived, discussing the dynamics of particles in the region of an equilibrium orbit in a general electromagnetic field, which forms a periodic system. The total particle damping is determined from the Hamiltonian found and from dissipative forces brought out by a classical reaction radiation. Relations for the damping of the synchrotron oscillations are derived from the study of the appropriate phase space.

Zusammenfassung Der Einflu\ von Mikrosegregations-Substrukturen auf das plastische Verhalten von Zinkeinkristallen entspricht den allgemeinen Erwartungen in der Weise, da\ die kritische Schubspannung mit wachsender Substrukturendichte zunimmt. Der Verfestigungskoeffizient A nimmt hingegen mit wachsender Substrukturendichte ab. Dabei wird der Verfestigungskoeffizient vom Charakter der Substruktur viel empfindlicher beeinflu\t als die kritische Schubspannung. Es wird angenommen, da\ dieser Einflu\ durch unterschiedlichen Fremdstoffgehalt zustande kommt.

An unstable perminvar effect was found in magnesium manganese ferrite at a temperature of –195°C and its connection with the magnetic after-effect was investigated. The analysis carried out on the basis of Néel's theory showed that both effects are a result of the same diffusion process. The experimental results also show that 180° Bloch walls are displaced when the sample is magnetized.

In the special type of the quark model we obtain the ratio=h A/hV of the axial (hA) and vector (hV) form factors for the decays e ¯ve and K e¯ve different from unity. The low-energy theorem, relating the electric polarizability of the charged pion with the ratio, is analyzed. It is shown that < 1 corresponds to , calculated by accounting the contribution of the scalar meson(700) into the amplitude of the Compton effect on the pion. We define a covariant and gauge-invariant generalization of the Wigner functions of particles with spins 1/2 and 0. The collisionless kinetic equations are obtained for these particles in external gravitational and electromagnetic fields in the quasiclassical approximation; also obtained are the momentum representations of the energy-momentum tensor, current, and spin tensor, taking into account the effects of the spin's interaction with the gravitational field an electromagnetic field. We study a simple dynamical system which displays a so-called type-I intermittency bifurcation. We determine the Bowen-Ruelle measure and prove that the expectation (g) of any continuous functiong and the Kolmogoroff-Sinai entropyh() are continuous functions of the bifurcation parameter. Therefore the transition is continuous from a measure-theoretical point of view. Those results could be generalized to any similar dynamical system.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Im vorliegenden Artikel wird die Durchlässigkeit eines beliebigen Systems homogener oder inhomogener Schichten mit beliebiger Leitfähigkeit bei senkrechtem Einfall einer elektromagnetischen Welle untersucht. Es wird bewiesen, da\ das Verhältnis der Durch-lässigkeiten beim Auftreffen der Welle von der einen und von der anderen Seite lediglich von den Leitfähigkeiten der Medien auf beiden Seiten des Systems abhängt. Falls die Leitfähigkeiten beider Medien gleich sind, sind auch die Durchlässigkeiten in beiden Richtungen gleich.

Deviations of nuclear magnetic moments of oddA nuclei from the Schmidt lines are explained by configuration mixing. The general results obtained are applied to several nuclei and the magnitudes of the admixture coefficients necessary to explain the deviations are estimated. The results show that the deviations can be successfully explained only for those nuclei, in which possible configuration admixtures give contributions to the magnetic moment linear in the admixture coefficient.

Conclusions In summary, we have studied the parametric instability of a cold electron plasma in a strong, circularly polarized electromagnetic wave, taking into account the relativistic nature of the electron motion. We have shown that an instability of longitudinal waves occurs at frequencies p/ and p/, while an instability of transverse waves occurs at frequencies 0±0 and 0±p/. The results of a numerical solution of the dispersion relation for large pump amplitudes, in which case the approximation of a weak coupling between waves is not applicable, show that the growth rates and the bands of the instabilities increase with increasing pump amplitude. We have found that in the case of the excitation of electromagnetic plasma waves, even at low pump amplitudes, the relativistic nature of the electron motion can be of decisive importance for the effect.T. Gamma lines 1·05 MeV(4 × 10–6 quanta/decay) and 1·14 MeV (9 × 10–6 quanta/decay), giving evidence of the existence of a new level in Hf176 with an energy of 1·14 MeV, were found in the decay of Lu176m with a half-life of 3·7 hours, using the scintillation method. The component of the beta spectrum, exciting this level, has a maximum energy of 0·17 MeV and logft=8·3. The spin of this level proved to be equal to one. The level was interpreted as a single-particle neutron level withn 0: 5/2 (512),n 1: 7/2 (514);I=1+.
