A novel high precision method measures the b-quark forward-backward asymmetry at the Z pole on a sample of 3,560,890 hadronic events collected with the DELPHI detector in 1992 to 2000. An enhanced impact parameter tag provides a high purity b sample. For event hemispheres with a reconstructed secondary vertex the charge of the corresponding quark or anti-quark is determined using a neural network which combines in an optimal way the full available charge information from the vertex charge, the jet charge and from identified leptons and hadrons. The probability of correctly identifying b-quarks and anti-quarks is measured on the data themselves comparing the rates of double hemisphere tagged like-sign and unlike-sign events. The b-quark forward-backward asymmetry is determined from the differential asymmetry, taking small corrections due to hemisphere correlations and background contributions into account. Moments of the hadronic invariant mass and of the lepton energy spectra in semileptonic B decays have been determined with the data recorded by the DELPHI detector at LEP. From measurements of the inclusive b-hadron semileptonic decays, and imposing constraints from other measurements on b- and c-quark masses, the first three moments of the lepton energy distribution and of the hadronic mass distribution, have been used to determine parameters which enter into the extraction of |Vcb| from the measurement of the inclusive b-hadron semileptonic decay width. The values obtained in the kinetic scheme are: and include corrections at order 1/mb3. Tau lepton decays with open strangeness in the final state are measured with the OPAL detector at LEP to determine the strange hadronic spectral function of the lepton. The decays , and with final states consisting of neutral and charged kaons and pions have been studied. The invariant mass distributions of of these final states have been experimentally determined. Monte Carlo simulations have been used for the remaining and for the strange final states including mesons. The reconstructed strange final states, corrected for resolution effects and detection efficiencies, yield the strange spectral function of the lepton. The moments of the spectral function and the ratio of strange to non-strange moments, which are important input parameters for theoretical analyses, are determined. The tau lepton lifetime has been measured with the events collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP in the years 1991-1995. In this paper, we make a deep analysis for the five typical interacting holographic dark energy models with the interaction terms \(Q=3\beta H_{0}\rho _\mathrm{{de}}\), \(Q=3\beta H_{0}\rho _\mathrm{{c}}\), \(Q=3\beta H_{0}(\rho _\mathrm{{de}}+\rho _\mathrm{c})\), \(Q=3\beta H_{0}\sqrt{\rho _\mathrm{{de}}\rho _\mathrm{c}}\), and \(Q=3\beta H_{0}\frac{\rho _\mathrm{{de}}\rho _{c}}{\rho _\mathrm{{de}}+\rho _\mathrm{c}}\), respectively. We obtain observational constraints on these models by using the type Ia supernova data (the Joint Light-Curve Analysis sample), the cosmic microwave background data (Planck 2015 distance priors), the baryon acoustic oscillations data, and the direct measurement of the Hubble constant. We find that the values of \(\chi _\mathrm{min}^2\) for all the five models are almost equal (around 699), indicating that the current observational data equally favor these IHDE models. In addition, a comparison with the cases of an interaction term involving the Hubble parameter H is also made.  相似文献

Neutrino interactions with two muons in the final state have been studied using the Fermilab narrow band beam. A sample of 18v μ like sign dimuon events withP μ>9 GeV/c yields 6.6±4.8 events after backgroud subtraction and a prompt rate of (1.0±0.7)×10?4 per single muon event. The kinematics of these events are compared with those of the non-prompt sources. A total of 437v μ and 31 \(\bar v_\mu \) opposite sign dimuon events withP μ>4.3 GeV/c are used to measure the strange quark content of the nucleon: \(\kappa = {{2s} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{2s} {\left( {\bar u + \bar d} \right) = 0.52_{ - 0.15}^{ + 0.17} \left( {or\eta _s \frac{{2s}}{{u + d}} = 0.075 \pm 0.019} \right) for 100< E_v< 230 GeV\left( {\left\langle {Q^2 } \right\rangle = {{23 GeV^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{23 GeV^2 } {c^2 }}} \right. \kern-0em} {c^2 }}} \right)}}} \right. \kern-0em} {\left( {\bar u + \bar d} \right) = 0.52_{ - 0.15}^{ + 0.17} \left( {or\eta _s \frac{{2s}}{{u + d}} = 0.075 \pm 0.019} \right) for 100< E_v< 230 GeV\left( {\left\langle {Q^2 } \right\rangle = {{23 GeV^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{23 GeV^2 } {c^2 }}} \right. \kern-0em} {c^2 }}} \right)}}\) using a charm semileptonic branching ratio of (10.9±1.4)% extracted from measurements ine + e ? collisions and neutrino emulsion data.  相似文献

The most precise measurement of the weak mixing angle at LEP is from the forward-backward asymmetry at the Z-pole. In this note the QED and electroweak radiative corrections to obtain the pole asymmetry from the measured asymmetry for b- and c-quarks have been calculated using ZFITTER, which has been amended to allow a consistent treatment of partial two-loop corrections for the b-quark final asymmetries. A very economic model of generating small neutrino masses is the Zee model. This model has been studied extensively in the literature with most of the studies concentrated on the simplest version of the model, where all diagonal entries in the mass matrix are zero. SNO, and KamLAND data disfavor this simple version, but only when one also combines information from atmospheric and K2K data can one rule out this model with a high confidence level. We show that the simplest version of the Zee model is ruled out at level. The original Zee model, however, contains more than enough freedom to satisfy constraints from the data. We propose a new form of mass matrix by a naturalness consideration. This new form of the mass matrix is consistent with all experimental data. It predicts that , and increases and decreases with |Ve3|. We search for isotropic stochastic gravitational-wave background (SGWB) in the International Pulsar Timing Array second data release. By modeling the SGWB as a power-law, we find very strong Bayesian evidence for a common-spectrum process, and further this process has scalar transverse (ST) correlations allowed in general metric theory of gravity as the Bayes factor in favor of the ST-correlated process versus the spatially uncorrelated common-spectrum process is 30 ± 2. The median and the 90% equal-tail amplitudes of ST mode are ${{ \mathcal A }}_{\mathrm{ST}}={1.29}_{-0.44}^{+0.51}\times {10}^{-15}$, or equivalently the energy density parameter per logarithm frequency is ${{\rm{\Omega }}}_{\mathrm{GW}}^{\mathrm{ST}}={2.31}_{-1.30}^{+2.19}\times {10}^{-9}$, at frequency of 1 year−1. However, we do not find any statistically significant evidence for the tensor transverse (TT) mode and then place the 95% upper limits as ${{ \mathcal A }}_{\mathrm{TT}}\lt 3.95\times {10}^{-15}$, or equivalently ${{\rm{\Omega }}}_{\mathrm{GW}}^{\mathrm{TT}}\lt 2.16\times {10}^{-9}$, at frequency of 1 year−1.  相似文献

Event Shape Data from e+e? annihilation into hadrons collected by the JADE experiment at centre-of-mass energies between 14 GeV and 44 GeV are used to determine the strong coupling αS. QCD predictions complete to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO), alternatively combined with resummed next-to-leading-log-approximation (NNLO?+?NLLA) calculations, are used. The combined value from six different event shape observables at the six JADE centre-of-mass energies using the NNLO calculations is $$\begin{array}{rcl}\ensuremath {\ensuremath {\alpha _{\mathrm {S}}}(\ensuremath {m_{\ensuremath {\mathrm {Z^{0}}}}})}&=&0.1210\pm 0.0007\ensuremath {\mathrm {(stat.)}}\pm 0.0021\ensuremath {\mathrm {(exp.)}}\\[6pt]&&{}\pm 0.0044\ensuremath {\mathrm {(had.)}}\pm 0.0036\ensuremath {\mathrm {(theo.)}}\end{array}$$ and with the NNLO?+?NLLA calculations the combined value is $$\begin{array}{rcl}\ensuremath {\ensuremath {\alpha _{\mathrm {S}}}(\ensuremath {m_{\ensuremath {\mathrm {Z^{0}}}}})}&=&0.1172\pm 0.0006\ensuremath {\mathrm {(stat.)}}\pm 0.0020\ensuremath {\mathrm {(exp.)}}\\[6pt]&&{}\pm 0.0035\ensuremath {\mathrm {(had.)}}\pm 0.0030\ensuremath {\mathrm {(theo.)}}.\end{array}$$ The stability of the NNLO and NNLO?+?NLLA results with respect to missing higher order contributions, studied by variations of the renormalisation scale, is improved compared to previous results obtained with NLO?+?NLLA or with NLO predictions only. The observed energy dependence of αS agrees with the QCD prediction of asymptotic freedom and excludes absence of running with 99% confidence level.  相似文献

This paper reports on the improved Mainz experiment on tritium spectroscopy which yields a 10 times higher signal to background ratio than before. The main experimental effects and systematic uncertainties have been investigated in side experiments, and possible error sources have been eliminated. Extensive data taking took place in the years 1997 to 2001. A residual analysis of the data sets yields for the square of the electron antineutrino mass the final result of eV2/c4. Final results from the DELPHI Collaboration on the lifetime of B + and B0 mesons and the mean b-hadron lifetime, are presented using the data collected at the Z0 peak in 1994 and 1995. Elaborate, inclusive, secondary vertexing methods have been employed to ensure a b-hadron reconstruction with good efficiency. To separate samples of B + and B0 mesons, high performance neural network techniques are used that achieve very high purity signals. Di-jet production is studied in collisions of quasi-real photons at e + e- centre-of-mass energies from 189 to 209 GeV at LEP. The data were collected with the OPAL detector. Jets are reconstructed using an inclusive -clustering algorithm for all cross-section measurements presented. A cone jet algorithm is used in addition to study the different structure of the jets resulting from either of the algorithms. The inclusive di-jet cross-section is measured as a function of the mean transverse energy of the two leading jets, and as a function of the estimated fraction of the photon momentum carried by the parton entering the hard sub-process, , for different regions of . Angular distributions in di-jet events are measured and used to demonstrate the dominance of quark and gluon initiated processes in different regions of phase space. Furthermore the inclusive di-jet cross-section as a function of and is presented, where is the jet pseudo-rapidity. Different regions of the - -space are explored to study and control the influence of an underlying event. 在等效质量模型框架下,考虑线性禁闭和一阶微扰相互作用的贡献并通过拟合$ \mathrm{p} $$ \mathrm{n}$$\Lambda$$ \Delta $的质量来得到模型参数。发现,等效质量模型能够较好地给出符合实验的重子质量谱。而禁闭强度$D$、强耦合常数$\alpha_{\rm{s}}$以及夸克质量因子$f$与微扰强度$C$之间都存在关联,并能够很好地用解析公式逼近。除此之外,单胶子交换相互作用的色磁部分在重子质量谱中起着重要作用,从而使自旋$J=1/2$和3/2的重子之间的质量差最高达到300 MeV。为了更好地描述超子质量,对于包含奇异夸克的一对夸克间的相互作用我们进一步采用不同的强耦合常数,其具体的模型参数通过拟合$ \Sigma $$ \Xi $的质量得到。基于本工作得到的等效质量模型参数组,能够更好地描述$ \mathrm{ud}$夸克物质团、奇异子以及致密星。  相似文献

We discuss the leptonic decay constants of heavy–light mesons by means of Borel QCD sum rules in the local-duality (LD) limit of infinitely large Borel mass parameter. In this limit, for an appropriate choice of the invariant structures in the QCD correlation functions, all vacuum-condensate contributions vanish and all nonperturbative effects are contained in only one quantity, the effective threshold. We study properties of the LD effective thresholds in the limits of large heavy-quark mass \(m_Q\) and small light-quark mass \(m_q\). In the heavy-quark limit, we clarify the role played by the radiative corrections in the effective threshold for reproducing the pQCD expansion of the decay constants of pseudoscalar and vector mesons. We show that the dependence of the meson decay constants on \(m_q\) arises predominantly (at the level of 70–80%) from the calculable \(m_q\)-dependence of the perturbative spectral densities. Making use of the lattice QCD results for the decay constants of nonstrange and strange pseudoscalar and vector heavy mesons, we obtain solid predictions for the decay constants of heavy–light mesons as functions of \(m_q\) in the range from a few to 100 MeV and evaluate the corresponding strong isospin-breaking effects: \(f_{D^+} - f_{D^0}=(0.96 \pm 0.09) \ \mathrm{MeV}\), \(f_{D^{*+}} - f_{D^{*0}}= (1.18 \pm 0.35) \ \mathrm{MeV}\), \(f_{B^0} - f_{B^+}=(1.01 \pm 0.10) \ \mathrm{MeV}\), \(f_{B^{*0}} - f_{B^{*+}}=(0.89 \pm 0.30) \ \mathrm{MeV}\).  相似文献

Studying the coherent diffractive production of pions in neutrino and antineutrino scattering off the nuclei of freon molecules we have observed for the first time in one experiment all three states of the isospin triplet of the axial part of the weak charged and neutral currents. For the corresponding cross sections we derive $$\begin{array}{*{20}c} {\sigma _{coh}^v (\pi ^ + ) = (106 \pm 16) \cdot 10^{ - 40} {{cm^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{cm^2 } {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}} \\ {\sigma _{coh}^{\bar v} (\pi ^ - ) = (113 \pm 35) \cdot 10^{ - 40} {{cm^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{cm^2 } {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}and} \\ {\sigma _{coh}^v (\pi ^0 ) = (52 \pm 19) \cdot 10^{ - 40} {{cm^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{cm^2 } {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\left\langle {nucl.} \right\rangle }}} \\ \end{array} $$ . Comparing our data with theoretical predictions based on the standard model of weak interactions we find reasonable agreement. We describe a model for the scalar sector where all interactions occur either at an ultra-high scale, ΛU~1016-1019 GeV, or at an intermediate scale, ΛI = 109-1011 GeV. The interaction of physics on these two scales results in an SU(2) Higgs condensate at the electroweak (EW) scale, ΛEW, through a seesaw-like Higgs mechanism, , while the breaking of the SM SU(2) x U(1) gauge symmetry occurs at the intermediate scale ΛI . The EW scale is, therefore, not fundamental but is naturally generated in terms of ultra-high energy phenomena and so the hierarchy problem is alleviated. We show that the class of such "seesaw Higgs" models predict the existence of sub-eV neutrino masses which are generated through a "two-step" seesaw mechanism in terms of the same two ultra-high scales: . The neutrinos can be either Dirac or Majorana, depending on the structure of the scalar potential. We also show that our seesaw Higgs model can be naturally embedded in theories with tiny extra dimensions of size fm, where the seesaw induced EW scale arises from a violation of a symmetry at a distant brane; in particular, in the scenario presented there are seven tiny extra dimensions.
