The biological and therapeutic responses to hyperthermia, when it is envisaged as an anti-tumor treatment modality, are complex and variable. Heat delivery plays a critical role and is counteracted by more or less efficient body cooling, which is largely mediated by blood flow. In the case of magnetically mediated modality, the delivery of the magnetic particles, most often superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), is also critically involved. We focus here on the magnetic characterization of two injectable formulations able to gel in situ and entrap silica microparticles embedding SPIONs. These formulations have previously shown suitable syringeability and intratumoral distribution in vivo. The first formulation is based on alginate, and the second on a poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) (EVAL). Here we investigated the magnetic properties and heating capacities in an alternating magnetic field (141 kHz, 12 mT) for implants with increasing concentrations of magnetic microparticles. We found that the magnetic properties of the magnetic microparticles were preserved using the formulation and in the wet implant at 37 °C, as in vivo. Using two orthogonal methods, a common SLP (20 W g−1) was found after weighting by magnetic microparticle fraction, suggesting that both formulations are able to properly carry the magnetic microparticles in situ while preserving their magnetic properties and heating capacities.  相似文献

We considered applicability of acoustic imaging technology for the detection of magnetic microparticles and nanoparticles inside soft biological tissues. Such particles are widely used for magnetically targeted drug delivery and magnetic hyperthermia. We developed a new method of ultrasonic synchronous tissue Doppler imaging with magnetic modulation for in vitro and in vivo detection and visualization of magnetic ultradisperse objects in soft tissues. Prototype hardware with appropriate software was produced and the method was successfully tested on magnetic microparticles injected into an excised pig liver.  相似文献

Ni-Zn-Cu ferrite powders with nominal composition Ni0.4−xZn0.6CuxFe2O4 (x=0.00-0.20) were prepared via chemical coprecipitation method. X-ray diffractometer, vibrating sample magnetometer, scanning electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry and energy dispersive spectrum were used to study the effects of impurity Na+ ions on the structural and magnetic properties. As a result, it was found that the impurity Na+ ions affect the crystalline structures and magnetic properties greatly. Moreover, the heterogeneous distribution of impurity Na+ ions and the formation of Na compounds retard the phase formation and the grain growth of specimens. Our study also reveals that for the chemical coprecipitation method, a second washing process introduced after drying can eliminate the impurity Na+ ions effectually and thus helps in the formation of single-phase structure and the growth of grains, which is very important for the improvement of magnetic properties and the preparation of ferrites via chemical coprecipitation method.  相似文献

In order to produce magnetic microparticles (agglomerates), magnetite (Fe3O4) particles were synthesized using coprecipitation of FeSO4·7H2O and FeCl3·6H2O with the presence of poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) in aqueous solution.. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction, and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) methods were used to characterize the PMAA coated superparamagnetic agglomerates. The influences of various processing parameters such as the process temperature, PMAA content, and the addition of surfactant on the agglomerate size and size distribution of produced magnetic microparticles were investigated. The particle size and size distribution characteristics, (the volume weighted mean size (D[4,3], surface weighted mean size D[3,2], the geometric standard deviation, and span value) of the magnetic agglomerates were determined using the laser diffraction technique. The PMAA coated magnetic agglomerates with surface weighted mean sizes ranging from 1.5 to 3 μm were produced successfully.  相似文献

A biosensor that uses resonant coils with a special frequency-mixing technique and magnetic beads as detectable labels has been established for the detection of Francisella tularensis, the causative agent for tularemia. The detection principle is based on a sandwich immunoassay using an anti-Ft antibody for immunofiltration immobilized to ABICAP® polyethylene filters, and biotinylated with streptavidin-coated magnetic beads as labels. The linear detection range of this biosensor was found to be 104–106 cfu F. tularensis lipopolysaccharide (LPS) per ml. Tested sample matrices were physiological PBS buffer and rabbit serum.  相似文献

Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01-0.05) thin films were synthesized on quartz substrate using an inexpensive ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. The influence of doping concentration and substrate temperature on structural and magnetic properties of Sn1−xMnxO2 thin films was systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies of these films reflect that the Mn3+ ions have substituted Sn4+ ions without changing the tetragonal rutile structure of pure SnO2. A linear increase in c-axis lattice constant has been observed with corresponding increase in Mn concentration. No impurity phase was detected in XRD patterns even after doping 5 at% of Mn. A systematic change in magnetic behavior from ferromagnetic to paramagnetic was observed with increase in substrate temperature from 500 to 700 °C for Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01) films. Magnetic studies reveal room-temperature ferromagnetism (RTFM) with 3.61×10−4 emu saturation magnetization and 92 Oe coercivity in case of Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01) films deposited at 500 °C. However, paramagnetic behavior was observed for the films deposited at a higher substrate temperature of 700 °C. The presence of room-temperature ferromagnetism in these films was observed to have an intrinsic origin and could be obtained by controlling the substrate temperature and Mn doping concentration.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of ∼12 nm thick FePt thin films grown on Si substrates annealed using a 1064 nm wavelength laser with a 10 ms pulse have been examined. The A1 to L10 ordering phase transformation was confirmed by electron and X-ray diffraction. An order parameter near 50% and a maximum coercivity of 12 kOe were obtained with laser energy densities of 25-32 J/cm2. Grain growth, quantified by dark field transmission electron microscopy, occurred during chemical ordering at the laser pulse widths studied.  相似文献

The conventional drying (oven drying) method used for the preparation of precipitated mesoporous silica with low surface area (>300 m2/g) and small pore volume is often associated with a high production cost and a time consuming process. Therefore, the main goal of this study was to develop a cost-effective and fast drying process for the production of precipitated mesoporous silica using inexpensive industrial grade sodium silicate and spray drying of the precipitated wet-gel silica slurry. The precipitated wet-gel silica slurry was prepared from an aqueous sodium silicate solution through the drop-wise addition of sulfuric acid. Mesoporous precipitated silica powder was prepared by drying the wet-gel slurry with different drying techniques. The effects of the oven drying (OD), microwave drying (MD), and spray drying (SD) techniques on the physical (oil, water absorption, and tapping density), and textural properties (specific BET surface area, pore volume, pore size, and % porosity) of the precipitated mesoporous silica powder were studied. The dried precipitated mesoporous silica powders were characterized with field-emission scanning electron microscopy; Brunauer, Emmett and Teller and BJH nitrogen gas adsorption/desorption methods; Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy; thermogravimetric and differential analysis; N2 physisorption isotherm; pore size distribution and particle size analysis. There was a significant effect of drying technique on the textural properties, such as specific surface area, pore size distribution and cumulative pore volume of the mesoporous silica powder. Additionally, the effect of the microwave-drying period on the physicochemical properties of the precipitated mesoporous silica powder was investigated and discussed.  相似文献

Fe-doped (Ba1−xSrx)TiO3 ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction, and ferromagnetism was realized at room temperature. The microstructure and magnetism were modified by the Sr concentration control (0≤x≤75 at%) at a fixed Fe concentration, and the relevant magnetic exchange mechanism was discussed. All the samples are shown to have a single perovskite structure. When increasing the Sr concentration, the phase structure is transformed from a hexagonal perovskite into a cubic perovskite, with a monotonic decrease in lattice parameters induced by ionic size effect. The room-temperature ferromagnetism is expected to originate from the super-exchange interactions between Fe3+ on pentahedral and octahedral Ti sites mediated by the O2− ions. The increase in Sr addition modifies two main influencing factors in magnetic properties: the ratio of pentahedral to octahedral Fe3+ and the concentration of oxygen vacancies, leading to a gradually enhanced saturation magnetization. The highest value, obtained for Fe-doped (Ba0.25Sr0.75)TiO3, is an order of magnitude higher than that of the Fe-doped BaTiO3 system with similar Fe concentration and preparation conditions, which may indicate (Ba1−xSrx)TiO3 as a more suitable matrix material for multiferroic research.  相似文献

The direct observation and rotational analysis of the (3, 6) band in the comet-tail (A2Πi-X2Σ+) system of CO+ are carried out for the first time employing optical heterodyne and magnetic rotation enhanced velocity modulation spectroscopy. That 193 lines are assigned to this band ranging from 12 100 to 12 370 cm−1 results in most accurate molecular constants by nonlinear least-squares fitting procedure employing the effective Hamiltonians.  相似文献

In this work we report a study of the magnetic behavior of ferrimagnetic oxide CoFe2O4 and ferrimagnetic oxide/ferromagnetic metal CoFe2O4/CoFe2 nanocomposite. The latter compound is a good system to study hard ferrimagnet/soft ferromagnet exchange coupled. Two steps were followed to synthesize the bimagnetic CoFe2O4/CoFe2 nanocomposite: (i) first, preparation of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles using a simple hydrothermal method, and (ii) second, reduction reaction of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using activated charcoal in inert atmosphere and high temperature. The phase structures, particle sizes, morphology, and magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were investigated by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Mossbauer spectroscopy (MS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) with applied field up to 3.0 kOe at room temperature and 50 K. The mean diameter of CoFe2O4 particles is about 16 nm. Mossbauer spectra revealed two sites for Fe3+. One site is related to Fe in an octahedral coordination and the other one to the Fe3+ in a tetrahedral coordination, as expected for a spinel crystal structure of CoFe2O4. TEM measurements of nanocomposite showed the formation of a thin shell of CoFe2 on the cobalt ferrite and indicate that the nanoparticles increase to about 100 nm. The magnetization of the nanocomposite showed a hysteresis loop that is characteristic of exchange coupled systems. A maximum energy product (BH)max of 1.22 MGOe was achieved at room temperature for CoFe2O4/CoFe2 nanocomposites, which is about 115% higher than the value obtained for CoFe2O4 precursor. The exchange coupling interaction and the enhancement of product (BH)max in nanocomposite CoFe2O4/CoFe2 are discussed.  相似文献

Invert sugar (an equimolar mixture of glucose and fructose prepared by sucrose hydrolysis) is a very important food component. We have prepared magnetically responsive alginate microbeads containing entrapped Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells and magnetite microparticles which can be easily separated in an appropriate magnetic separator. The microbeads (typical diameter between 50 and 100 μm) were prepared using the water-in-oil emulsification process. The prepared microbeads containing yeast cells with invertase activity enabled efficient sucrose conversion. The biocatalyst was quite stable; the same catalytic activity was observed after one month storage at 4 °C and the microbeads could be used at least six times.  相似文献

We present a magnetic study of vanadium oxide nanotubes (VOx-NTs) with polyaniline (PAni). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) shows the tubular shape and the multi-wall structure of the nanotubes. The static magnetic susceptibility measured at different magnetic fields shows a Curie behavior, while the magnetization versus magnetic field presents a non-linear dependence at low temperatures. Both experiments can be explained by the presence of paramagnetic ions with S = 1/2. Using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance technique, we identified as V4+(3d1) the paramagnetic ions present in the nanostructures. All the experimental results can be explained by a fraction between 14% and 18% of V4+ with respect to the total V atoms in the system.  相似文献

CoxFe3−xO4 (0?x?0.10) nanoparticles coated with tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide as a surfactant were synthesized by a co-precipitation technique. The Fe:Co ratio was tuned up to x=0.10 by controlling the Co2+ concentration during synthesis. The mean particle size, determined by transmission electron microscopy, ranged between 15±4 and 18±4 nm. The superparamagnetic blocking temperature and the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant of the ferrofluids, determined using ac and dc magnetic measurements, scale approximately linearly with cobalt concentration. We also find distinct differences in the optical response of different samples under an applied magnetic field. We attribute changes in field-induced optical relaxation for the x=0 and 0.05 samples to differences in the anisotropic microstructure under an applied magnetic field.  相似文献

In this work, we performed the synthesis and in vitro characterization of a new class of drug delivery system (DDS) denominated magnetic nanoemulsion (MNE). The association of colloidal nanoparticles with biocompatible magnetic fluids results in a new DDS for application in photodynamic therapy (PDT) and magnetic hyperthermia treatment. It works in a synergic manner with an expected enhancement in tumor damage after minimum drug doses, based on heat dissipation and/or light photosensitization. For this purpose, we investigated the permeation and retention in vitro model using Foscan® as a photosensitizer incorporated in MNE using a Franz diffusion cell and a biological skin model in biomimetic conditions.  相似文献

Ultrasound has a recognized ability to modulate the structure and function of proteins. Discovering the influential mechanism of ultrasound on the intramolecular interactions of egg-white protein isolate–curcumin (EPI–Cur) nanoparticles and their intermolecular interaction during freeze drying and redispersion is meaningful. In this study, under the extension of pre-sonication time, the protein solubility, surface hydrophobicity, and curcumin encapsulation rate showed an increasing trend, reaching the highest value at 12 min of treatment. However, the values decreased under the followed extension of ultrasound time. After freeze drying and redispersion were applied, the EPI–Cur sample under 12 min of ultrasound treatment exhibited minimal aggregation degree and loss of curcumin. The retention and loading rates of curcumin in the lyophilized powder reached 96 % and 33.60 mg/g EPI, respectively. However, under excessive ultrasound of >12 min, scanning electron microscopy showed distinct blocky aggregates. Overexposure of the hydrophobic region of the protein triggered protein-mediated hydrophobic aggregation after freeze drying. X-ray diffraction patterns showed the highest crystallinity, indicating that the free curcumin-mediated hydrophobic aggregation during freeze drying was enhanced by the concentration effect and intensified the formation of larger aggregates. This work has practical significance for developing the delivery of hydrophobic active substances. It provides theoretical value for the dynamic dispersity change in protein-hydrophobic active substances during freeze drying and redissolving.  相似文献

The adsorption of cisplatin and its complexes, cis-[PtCl(NH3)2]+ and cis-[Pt(NH3)2]2+, on a SiO2(1 1 1) hydrated surface has been studied by the Atom Superposition and Electron Delocalization method. The adiabatic energy curves for the adsorption of the drug and its products on the delivery system were considered. The electronic structure and bonding analysis were also performed. The molecule-surface interactions are formed at expenses of the OH surface bonds. The more important interactions are the Cl-H bond for cis-[PtCl2(NH3)2] and cis-[PtCl(NH3)2]+ adsorptions, and the Pt-O interaction for cis-[Pt(NH3)2]2+ adsorption. The Cl p orbitals and Pt s, p y d orbitals of the molecule and its complexes, and the s H orbital and, the s and p orbitals of the O atoms of the hydrated surface are the main contribution to the surface bonds.  相似文献

Co-doped SnO2 films codoped with nitrogen (N) have been prepared by magnetron sputtering to investigate the effect of p-type defects on magnetic properties. The incorporation of N modifies the preferential growth orientation of the films. Multiple characterization techniques reveal that the incorporated Co2+ and N3− ions substitute for Sn4+ and O2− sites in SnO2 lattice, respectively. As N concentration increases, the band gap of the films decreases because of the formation of Sn-N bond. Room-temperature ferromagnetism is observed in (Co, N)-codoped SnO2 films, and the saturated magnetic moment is sensitive to the incorporated N concentration. The variations in the magnetic properties as a function of N concentration are discussed on the basis of bound magnetic polaron model.  相似文献

A novel hybrid nanostructured material comprising superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) and pectin was synthesized by crosslinking with Ca2+ ions to form spherical calcium pectinate nanostructures, referred as MCPs, which were typically found to be 100-150 nm in size in dried condition, confirmed from transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The uniform size distribution was revealed from dynamic light scattering measurement. In aqueous medium the MCPs showed swelling behavior with an average size of 400 nm. A mechanism of formation of spherical MCPs is outlined constituting a MNP-pectin interface encapsulated by calcium pectinate at the periphery, by using an array of characterization techniques like zeta potential, thermogravimetry, Fourier transformed infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The MCPs were stable in simulated gastrointestinal fluid and ensured minimal loss of magnetic material. They exhibited superparamagnetic behavior, confirmed from zero field cooled and field cooled profiles and showed high saturation magnetization (Ms) of 46.21 emu/g at 2.5 T and 300 K. Ms decreased with increasing precursor pectin concentrations, attributed to quenching of magnetic moments by formation of a magnetic dead layer on the MNPs.  相似文献

LiMnBO3 with enhanced powder density was successfully synthesized by a commercially available spray-drying process. A monoclinic-LiMnBO3 single phase was experimentally substantiated by an X-ray diffractometer with crystallinity investigated by Rietveld refinement method (Bragg R-factor and RF-factor <10). The dense LiMnBO3 powder prepared by the spray drying process showed spherical morphology. The electrochemical property of LiMnBO3 was extensively investigated, positively revealing that 0.27 Li+ (Li0.27MnBO3) was stoichiometrically extracted from the host LiMnBO3 material at first cycle.  相似文献
