In this paper we consider the relation between random sums and compositions of different processes. In particular, for independent Poisson processes N α (t), N β (t), t>0, we have that \(N_{\alpha}(N_{\beta}(t)) \stackrel{\mathrm{d}}{=} \sum_{j=1}^{N_{\beta}(t)} X_{j}\), where the X j s are Poisson random variables. We present a series of similar cases, where the outer process is Poisson with different inner processes. We highlight generalisations of these results where the external process is infinitely divisible. A section of the paper concerns compositions of the form \(N_{\alpha}(\tau_{k}^{\nu})\), ν∈(0,1], where \(\tau_{k}^{\nu}\) is the inverse of the fractional Poisson process, and we show how these compositions can be represented as random sums. Furthermore we study compositions of the form Θ(N(t)), t>0, which can be represented as random products. The last section is devoted to studying continued fractions of Cauchy random variables with a Poisson number of levels. We evaluate the exact distribution and derive the scale parameter in terms of ratios of Fibonacci numbers.  相似文献

We consider the quantum mechanics on the noncommutative plane with the generalized uncertainty relations \({\Delta } x_{1} {\Delta } x_{2} \ge \frac {\theta }{2}, {\Delta } p_{1} {\Delta } p_{2} \ge \frac {\bar {\theta }}{2}, {\Delta } x_{i} {\Delta } p_{i} \ge \frac {\hbar }{2}, {\Delta } x_{1} {\Delta } p_{2} \ge \frac {\eta }{2}\). We show that the model has two essentially different phases which is determined by \(\kappa = 1 + \frac {1}{\hbar ^{2} } (\eta ^{2} - \theta \bar {\theta })\). We construct a operator \(\hat {\pi }_{i}\) commuting with \(\hat {x}_{j} \) and discuss the harmonic oscillator model in two dimensional non-commutative space for three case κ > 0, κ = 0, κ < 0. Finally, we discuss the thermodynamics of a particle whose hamiltonian is related to the harmonic oscillator model in two dimensional non-commutative space.  相似文献

The quantum-statistical properties of states of an electromagnetic field of general superpositions of coherent states of the form of N α,β(α?+e iξ β? are investigated. Formulas for the fluctuations (variances) of Hermitian trigonometric phase field operators ? ≡ côs φ, ? ≡ sîn φ (the so-called “Susskind–Glogower operators”) are found. Expressions for the rigorous uncertainty relations (Cauchy inequalities) for operators of the number of photons and trigonometric phase operators, as well as for operators ? and ?, are found and analyzed. The states of amplitude \({N_{\alpha ,\beta }}\left( {\left| {{{\sqrt {ne} }^{i\varphi }}\rangle + {e^{i\xi }}\left| {{{\sqrt {{n_\beta }e} }^{i\varphi }}\rangle } \right.} \right.} \right)\), φ = φα = φβ, and phase \({N_{\alpha ,\beta }}\left( {\left| {{{\sqrt {ne} }^{i{\varphi _\alpha }}}\rangle + {e^{i\xi }}\left| {{{\sqrt {ne} }^{i{\varphi _\beta }}}\rangle } \right.} \right.} \right)\), n = n α = n β, superpositions of coherent states are considered separately. The types of quantum superpositions of meso- and macroscales (n α, n β » 1) are found for which the sines and/or cosines of the phase of the field can be measured accurately, since, under certain conditions, the quantum fluctuations of these quantities are close to zero. A simultaneous accurate measurement of cosφ and sinφ is possible for amplitude superpositions, while an accurate measurement of one of these trigonometric phase functions is possible in the case of certain phase superpositions. Amplitude superpositions of coherent states with a vacuum state are quantum states of the field with a “maximum” level of the quantum uncertainty both in the case of a mesoscopic scale and in the case of a macroscopic scale of the field with an average number of photons n α/β ≈ 0, n β/α » 1.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behaviour of a d-dimensional self-interacting random walk (X n ) n∈? (?:={1,2,3,…}) which is repelled or attracted by the centre of mass \(G_{n} = n^{-1} \sum_{i=1}^{n} X_{i}\) of its previous trajectory. The walk’s trajectory (X 1,…,X n ) models a random polymer chain in either poor or good solvent. In addition to some natural regularity conditions, we assume that the walk has one-step mean drift
$\mathbb{E}[X_{n+1} - X_n \mid X_n - G_n = \mathbf{x}] \approx\rho\|\mathbf{x}\|^{-\beta}\hat{ \mathbf{x}}$
for ρ∈? and β≥0. When β<1 and ρ>0, we show that X n is transient with a limiting (random) direction and satisfies a super-diffusive law of large numbers: n ?1/(1+β) X n converges almost surely to some random vector. When β∈(0,1) there is sub-ballistic rate of escape. When β≥0 and ρ∈? we give almost-sure bounds on the norms ‖X n ‖, which in the context of the polymer model reveal extended and collapsed phases.
Analysis of the random walk, and in particular of X n ?G n , leads to the study of real-valued time-inhomogeneous non-Markov processes (Z n ) n∈? on [0,∞) with mean drifts of the form
$ \mathbb{E}[ Z_{n+1} - Z_n \mid Z_n = x ] \approx\rho x^{-\beta} - \frac {x}{n},$
(0.1)
where β≥0 and ρ∈?. The study of such processes is a time-dependent variation on a classical problem of Lamperti; moreover, they arise naturally in the context of the distance of simple random walk on ? d from its centre of mass, for which we also give an apparently new result. We give a recurrence classification and asymptotic theory for processes Z n satisfying (0.1), which enables us to deduce the complete recurrence classification (for any β≥0) of X n ?G n for our self-interacting walk.

We study the massless field on \({D_n = D \cap \tfrac{1}{n} \mathbf{Z}^2}\), where \({D \subseteq \mathbf{R}^2}\) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary, with Hamiltonian \({\mathcal {H}(h) = \sum_{x \sim y} \mathcal {V}(h(x) - h(y))}\). The interaction \({\mathcal {V}}\) is assumed to be symmetric and uniformly convex. This is a general model for a (2 + 1)-dimensional effective interface where h represents the height. We take our boundary conditions to be a continuous perturbation of a macroscopic tilt: h(x) = n x · u + f(x) for \({x \in \partial D_n,\,u \in \mathbf{R}^2}\), and f : R 2R continuous. We prove that the fluctuations of linear functionals of h(x) about the tilt converge in the limit to a Gaussian free field on D, the standard Gaussian with respect to the weighted Dirichlet inner product \({(f,g)_\nabla^\beta = \int_D \sum_i \beta_i \partial_i f_i \partial_i g_i}\) for some explicit β = β(u). In a subsequent article, we will employ the tools developed here to resolve a conjecture of Sheffield that the zero contour lines of h are asymptotically described by SLE(4), a conformally invariant random curve.  相似文献

We study minimizers of the pseudo-relativistic Hartree functional \({\mathcal {E}}_{a}(u):=\Vert (-\varDelta +m^{2})^{1/4}u\Vert _{L^{2}}^{2}+\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^{3}}V(x)|u(x)|^{2}\mathrm{d}x-\frac{a}{2}\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^{3}}(\left| \cdot \right| ^{-1}\star |u|^{2})(x)|u(x)|^{2}\mathrm{d}x\) under the mass constraint \(\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^3}|u(x)|^2\mathrm{d}x=1\). Here \(m>0\) is the mass of particles and \(V\ge 0\) is an external potential. We prove that minimizers exist if and only if a satisfies \(0\le a<a^{*}\), and there is no minimizer if \(a\ge a^*\), where \(a^*\) is called the Chandrasekhar limit. When a approaches \(a^*\) from below, the blow-up behavior of minimizers is derived under some general external potentials V. Here we consider three cases of V: trapping potential, i.e. \(V\in L_{\mathrm{loc}}^{\infty }({\mathbb {R}}^3)\) satisfies \(\lim _{|x|\rightarrow \infty }V(x)=\infty \); periodic potential, i.e. \(V\in C({\mathbb {R}}^3)\) satisfies \(V(x+z)=V(x)\) for all \(z\in \mathbb {Z}^3\); and ring-shaped potential, e.g. \( V(x)=||x|-1|^p\) for some \(p>0\).  相似文献

The fractals are obtained by using the model of diffusion-limited aggregation (DLA) for 40 ≤ L ≤ 240. The two-dimensional Ising model is simulated on the Creutz cellular automaton for 40 ≤ L ≤ 240. The critical exponents and the fractal dimensions are computed to be β = 0.124(8), γ = 1.747(10), α = 0.081(21), δ = 14.994(11), η = 0.178(10), ν = 0.960(23) and \(d_{f}^{\beta } =1.876(8), \,d_{f}^{\gamma } =3.747(10), \,d_{f}^{\alpha } =2.081(68), \,d_{f}^{\delta } =1.940(22)\), \(d_{f}^{\eta } =2.178(10)\), \(d_{f}^{\nu } =2.960(22)\), which are consistent with the theoretical values of β = 0.125, γ = 1.75, α = 0, δ = 15, η = 0.25, ν = 1 and \(d_{f}^{\beta } =1.875, \,d_{f}^{\gamma } =3.75, \,d_{f}^{\alpha } =2, \,d_{f}^{\delta } =1.933, \,d_{f}^{\eta } =2.25, \,d_{f}^{\nu } =3\).  相似文献

Gamow vectors and resonances play an important role in scattering theory, especially in the physics of metastable states. We study Gamow vectors and resonances in a time-dependent setting using the Borel summation method. In particular, we analyze the behavior of the wave function ψ(x,t) for one dimensional time-dependent Hamiltonian \(H=-\partial_{x}^{2}\pm2\delta(x)(1+2r\cos\omega t)\) where ψ(x,0) is compactly supported. We show that ψ(x,t) has a Borel summable expansion containing finitely many terms of the form \(\sum_{n=-\infty}^{\infty}e^{i^{3/2}\sqrt{-\lambda_{k}+n\omega i}|x|}A_{k,n}e^{-\lambda_{k}t+n\omega it}\), where λ k represents the associated resonance. This expression defines Gamow vectors and resonances in a rigorous and physically relevant way for all frequencies and amplitudes in a time-dependent model. For small amplitude (|r|?1) there is one resonance for generic initial conditions. We calculate the position of the resonance and discuss its physical meaning as related to multiphoton ionization. We give qualitative theoretical results as well as numerical calculations in the general case.  相似文献

We consider a channel bundle consisting of Nc parallel channels conveying a particulate flux. Particles enter these channels according to a homogeneous Poisson process and exit after a fixed transit time, τ. An individual channel blocks if N particles are simultaneously present. When a channel is blocked the flux previously entering it is redistributed evenly over the remaining open channels. We perform event driven simulations to examine the behaviour of an initially empty channel bundle with a total entering flux of intensity Λ. The mean blockage time of the kth channel is denoted by ? tk ? ,k = 1,...,Nc. For N = 1, as shown previously, the interval between successive blockages is constant, while for N> 1 an accelerating cascade, i.e. one in which the interval between successive blockages decreases, is observed. After an initial transient regime we observe a well-defined universal regime that is characterized by\hbox{$\Delta_k^{(N)} = (-1)^{N-1}\frac{[(N-1)!]^2}{(\Lambda\tau)^N}$}Δk(N)=(?1)N?1[(N?1)!]2(Λτ)Nwhere \hbox{$\Delta_k^{(1)}=\langle t_k \rangle-\langle t_{k-1}\rangle$}Δk(1)=?tk???tk?1? and \hbox{$\Delta_k^{(j)}=\Delta_k^{(j-1)}-\Delta_{k-1}^{(j-1)}$}Δk(j)=Δk(j?1)?Δk?1(j?1) denotes the jth order difference.  相似文献

We consider the semilinear harmonic oscillator
$i\psi_t=(-\Delta +{|x|}^{2} +M)\psi +\partial_2 g(\psi,\bar \psi), \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^{d},\, t\in \mathbb{R},$
where M is a Hermite multiplier and g a smooth function globally of order 3 at least. We prove that such a Hamiltonian equation admits, in a neighborhood of the origin, a Birkhoff normal form at any order and that, under generic conditions on M related to the non resonance of the linear part, this normal form is integrable when d = 1 and gives rise to simple (in particular bounded) dynamics when d ≥ 2. As a consequence we prove the almost global existence for solutions of the above equation with small Cauchy data. Furthermore we control the high Sobolev norms of these solutions.

The optical gain of He-Ne discharges for the laser wave-length of 6328 AE is investigated experimentally. The measurements are performed in two independent methods, which both give the same results. The gain of the He-Ne discharge is measured for a number of discharge tubes with different tube-lengthsl and tube-diametersD. The experiments show that the maximum gain? 0 is a function of tube-length and-diameter:?G 0(l,D) ?

The non autonomous Cauchy problem \(i\partial_{t}u=-\partial_{xx}^{2} u+\alpha(t) \delta_{0}u\) with u t?=?0?=?u 0 is considered in L 2 (?) . The regularity assumptions for α are accurately analyzed and show that the general results for non autonomous linear evolution equations in Banach spaces are far from being optimal. In the mean time, this article shows an unexpected application of paraproduct techniques, initiated by J.M. Bony for nonlinear partial differential equations, to a classical linear problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the coherence of the reduced state in system H A ?H B under taking different quantum operations acting on subsystem H B . Firstly, we show that for a pure bipartite state, the coherence of the final subsystem H A under the sum of two orthonormal rank 1 projections acting on H B is less than or equal to the sum of the coherence of the state after two orthonormal projections acting on H B , respectively. Secondly, we obtain that the coherence of reduced state in subsystem H A under random unitary channel \({\Phi }(\rho )={\sum }_{s}\lambda _{s}U_{s}\rho U_{s}^{\ast }\) acting on H B , is equal to the coherence of the state after each operation \({\Phi }_{s}(\rho )=\lambda _{s}U_{s}\rho U_{s}^{\ast }\) acting on H B for every s. In addition, for general quantum operation \({\Phi }(\rho )={\sum }_{s}F_{s}\rho F_{s}^{\ast }\) on H B , we get the relation
$$ C\left (\left ((I\otimes {\Phi })\rho ^{AB}\right )^{A}\right )\leq \sum \limits _{s}C\left (\left ((I\otimes {\Phi }_{s})\rho ^{AB}\right )^{A}\right ). $$

We study the final problem for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation
$i{\partial }_{t}u+\frac{1}{2}\Delta u=\lambda|u|^{\frac{2}{n}}u,\quad (t,x)\in {\mathbf{R}}\times \mathbf{R}^{n},$
where\(\lambda \in{\bf R},n=1,2,3\). If the final data\(u_{+}\in {\bf H}^{0,\alpha }=\left\{ \phi \in {\bf L}^{2}:\left( 1+\left\vert x\right\vert \right) ^{\alpha }\phi \in {\bf L}^{2}\right\} \) with\(\frac{ n}{2} < \alpha < \min \left( n,2,1+\frac{2}{n}\right) \) and the norm\(\Vert \widehat{u_{+}}\Vert _{{\bf L}^{\infty }}\) is sufficiently small, then we prove the existence of the wave operator in L 2. We also construct the modified scattering operator from H 0,α to H 0,δ with\(\frac{n}{2} < \delta < \alpha\).

Previously, we derive a representation of q-deformed \({\mathfrak{gl}_{\ell+1}}\) -Whittaker function as a sum over Gelfand–Zetlin patterns. This representation provides an analog of the Shintani–Casselman–Shalika formula for q-deformed \({\mathfrak{gl}_{\ell+1}}\) -Whittaker functions. In this note, we provide a derivation of the Givental integral representation of the classical \({\mathfrak{gl}_{\ell+1}}\) -Whittaker function as a limit q → 1 of the sum over the Gelfand–Zetlin patterns representation of the q-deformed \({\mathfrak{gl}_{\ell+1}}\) -Whittaker function. Thus, Givental representation provides an analog the Shintani–Casselman–Shalika formula for classical Whittaker functions.  相似文献

In the classical collision theory the scattering angle? depends on the impact parameterb and on the kinetic energyE r of the relative motion. This angle?(b, E r ) is expanded for two limiting cases: 1. Expansion in powers of the potentialV(r)/E r (momentum approximation). 2. Expansion in powers of the impact parameterb (central collision approximation). The radius of convergence of the series depends onb andE r . It will be given for the following potentialsV(r):
$$A\left( {\frac{a}{r}} \right)^\mu ;Ae^{ - \frac{r}{a}} ;A\frac{a}{r}e^{ - \frac{r}{a}} ;A\left( {\frac{a}{r}} \right)^2 e^{ - \left( {\frac{r}{a}} \right)^2 } .$$  相似文献

The Neumann Schrödinger operator \(\mathcal{L}\) is considered on a thin 2D star-shaped junction, composed of a vertex domain Ωint and a few semi-infinite straight leads ω m , m = 1, 2, ..., M, of width δ, δ ? diam Ωint, attached to Ωint at Γ ? ?Ωint. The potential of the Schrödinger operator l ω on the leads vanishes, hence there are only a finite number of eigenvalues of the Neumann Schrödinger operator L int on Ωint embedded into the open spectral branches of l ω with oscillating solutions χ ±(x, p) = \(e^{ \pm iK_ + x} e_m \) of l ω χ ± = p 2 χ ±. The exponent of the open channels in the wires is
$K_ + (\lambda ) = p\sum\limits_{m = 1}^M {e^m } \rangle \langle e^m = \sqrt \lambda P_ + $
, with constant e m , on a relatively small essential spectral interval Δ ? [0, π 2 δ ?2). The scattering matrix of the junction is represented on Δ in terms of the ND mapping
$\mathcal{N} = \frac{{\partial P_ + \Psi }}{{\partial x}}(0,\lambda )\left| {_\Gamma \to P_ + \Psi _ + (0,\lambda )} \right|_\Gamma $
as
$S(\lambda ) = (ip\mathcal{N} + I_ + )^{ - 1} (ip\mathcal{N} - I_ + ), I_ + = \sum\limits_{m = 1}^M {e^m } \rangle \langle e^m = P_ + $
. We derive an approximate formula for \(\mathcal{N}\) in terms of the Neumann-to-Dirichlet mapping \(\mathcal{N}_{\operatorname{int} } \) of L int and the exponent K ? of the closed channels of l ω . If there is only one simple eigenvalue λ 0 ∈ Δ, L intφ0 = λ 0φ0 then, for a thin junction, \(\mathcal{N} \approx |\vec \phi _0 |^2 P_0 (\lambda _0 - \lambda )^{ - 1} \) with
$\vec \phi _0 = P_ + \phi _0 = (\delta ^{ - 1} \int_{\Gamma _1 } {\phi _0 (\gamma )} d\gamma ,\delta ^{ - 1} \int_{\Gamma _2 } {\phi _0 (\gamma )} d\gamma , \ldots \delta ^{ - 1} \int_{\Gamma _M } {\phi _0 (\gamma )} d\gamma )$
and \(P_0 = \vec \phi _0 \rangle |\vec \phi _0 |^{ - 2} \langle \vec \phi _0 \),
$S(\lambda ) \approx \frac{{ip|\vec \phi _0 |^2 P_0 (\lambda _0 - \lambda )^{ - 1} - I_ + }}{{ip|\vec \phi _0 |^2 P_0 (\lambda _0 - \lambda )^{ - 1} + I_ + }} = :S_{appr} (\lambda )$
. The related boundary condition for the components P +Ψ(0) and P +Ψ′(0) of the scattering Ansatz in the open channel \(P_ + \Psi (0) = (\bar \Psi _1 ,\bar \Psi _2 , \ldots ,\bar \Psi _M ), P_ + \Psi '(0) = (\bar \Psi '_1 , \bar \Psi '_2 , \ldots , \bar \Psi '_M )\) includes the weighted continuity (1) of the scattering Ansatz Ψ at the vertex and the weighted balance of the currents (2), where
$\frac{{\bar \Psi _m }}{{\bar \phi _0^m }} = \frac{{\delta \sum\nolimits_{t = 1}^M { \bar \Psi _t \bar \phi _0^t } }}{{|\vec \phi _0 |^2 }} = \frac{{\bar \Psi _r }}{{\bar \phi _0^r }} = :\bar \Psi (0)/\bar \phi (0), 1 \leqslant m,r \leqslant M$
(1)
,
$\sum\limits_{m = 1}^M {\bar \Psi '_m } \bar \phi _0^m + \delta ^{ - 1} (\lambda - \lambda _0 )\bar \Psi /\bar \phi (0) = 0$
(1)
. Conditions (1) and (2) constitute the generalized Kirchhoff boundary condition at the vertex for the Schrödinger operator on a thin junction and remain valid for the corresponding 1D model. We compare this with the previous result by Kuchment and Zeng obtained by the variational technique for the Neumann Laplacian on a shrinking quantum network.

The decay of an excited state by the emission of twoγ-quanta (γ γ-transitions) or two conversion electrons (e e-transitions) or oneγ-quantum and one conversion electron (γ e-transitions) is expected as a second order radiation process. The decay of Ag109m was examined for such events using a special arrangement of two NaJ-scintillation counters in coincidence. The energies of coincident quanta were displayed on the two axes of an “X-Y”-Oscilloscope respectively. For the ratio ofγ γ-transitions to one-quantum transitions an upper limit of\(\frac{{W_{\gamma \gamma } }}{{W_\gamma }} \leqq 1,9 \cdot 10^{ - 5} \) was obtained. Furthermore theγ-spectrum in coincidence withK X-rays was studied. From these measurementse e- andγ e-transition rates can be calculated for the case ofK shell conversion. The results obtained are:
$$\frac{{W_{^e K^e K} }}{{W_\gamma }} = \left( {8,1_{ - 1,7}^{ + 0,6} } \right) \cdot 10^{ - 3} and\frac{{W_{\gamma ^e K} }}{{W_\gamma }}< 1,5 \cdot 10^{ - 3} .$$  相似文献

where N and n are positive integers, B m (q) n stand for the Apostol-Bernoulli numbers, E m (q) for the Apostol-Euler numbers, and \(\left( {\begin{array}{*{20}c} n \\ {m_1 , \cdots ,m_N } \\ \end{array} } \right) = \frac{{n!}}{{m_1 ! \cdots m_N !}}.\) Our formulas involve Stirling numbers of the first kind. We also derive results for Apostol-Bernoulli and Apostol-Euler polynomials. Theβ-α angular correlation of Li8 has been measured at electron energies of 3·5 and 7·0 Mev. Theβ-energies were selected by a magnetic lens spectrometer. Subtracting the contribution by kinematic effects we find for the coefficientb of the cos2Θ term\(b = \left( {1 \cdot 9\begin{array}{*{20}c} { + 2 \cdot 6} \\ { - 2 \cdot 3} \\ \end{array} } \right)\%\) at 3·5 Mev and\(b = \left( {4 \cdot 0\begin{array}{*{20}c} { + 2 \cdot 0} \\ { - 1 \cdot 3} \\ \end{array} } \right)\%\) at 7·0 Mev. This result is in reasonable agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献
