Naphthaldimines containing N2O2 donor centers react with platinum(II) and (IV) chlorides to give two types of complexes depending on the valence of the platinum ion. For [Pt(II)], the ligand is neutral, [(H2L1)PtCl2]·3H2O (1) and [(H2L3)2Pt2Cl4]·5H2O (3), or monobasic [(HL2)2Pt2Cl2]·2H2O (2) and [(HL4)2Pt]·2H2O (4). These complexes are all diamagnetic having square-planar geometry. For [Pt(IV)], the ligand is dibasic, [(L1)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·2H2O (5), [(L2)Pt3Cl10]·3H2O (6), [(L3)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·C2H5OH (7) and [(L4)Pt2Cl6]·H2O (8). The Pt(IV) complexes are diamagnetic and exhibit octahedral configuration around the platinum ion. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis and IR spectra, electrical conductivity and thermal analyses (DTA and TGA). The molar conductances in DMF solutions indicate that the complexes are non-ionic. The complexes were tested for their catalytic activities towards cathodic reduction of oxygen.  相似文献

Two series of zinc(II) complexes of two Schiff bases (H2L1 and H2L2) formulated as [Zn(HL1/HL2)]ClO4 (1a and 1b) and [Zn(L1/L2)] (2a and 2b), where H2L1 = 1,8-bis(salicylideneamino)-3,6-dithiaoctane and H2L2 = 1,9-bis(salicylideneamino)-3,7-dithianonane, have been prepared and isolated in pure form by changing the chemical environment. Elemental, spectral, and other physicochemical results characterize the complexes. A single crystal X-ray diffraction study confirms the structure of [Zn(HL1)]ClO4 (1a). In 1a, zinc(II) has a distorted octahedral environment with a ZnO2N2S2 chromophore.  相似文献

Three new coordination complexes, 2{[Co(L1)2]ClO4} · 0.5CH3OH (1), [Mn(L2)2] (2), and [Cu(HL2)(L2)]ClO4 · 2H2O (3) have been synthesized from two tridentate N,N,O-donor hydrazone ligands HL1, 2-acetylpyridine-salicyloylhydrazone, and HL2, 2-benzoylpyridine-salicyloylhydrazone, respectively and thoroughly characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV–Vis, electrochemical, and room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. Structures of the complexes have been unequivocally established by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. Structural analysis reveals that 1 consists of two chemically similar but crystallographically independent cationic [Co(L1)2]+ units and 2 consists of a neutral [Mn(L2)2] molecule while 3 consists of a cationic [Cu(HL2)(L2)]+ unit. Metal ions display distorted octahedral geometry in 1 and 2 while in 3 it shows a distorted square pyramidal geometry. Ligand conformations around the metal ions are stabilized by the presence of intra-ligand hydrogen bonding in all the complexes. Structure of 3 reveals that a perchlorate ion linked to the complex by hydrogen bonding via a water molecule.  相似文献

Four dinuclear cadmium(II) complexes, [Cd2(L1)(μ2-Cl)Cl2] (1), [Cd2(L2)(μ2-Cl)Cl2] (2), [Cd2(L3)(μ2-Cl)Cl2] (3), and [Cd2(L4)3ClO4] (4), where HL1 = 4-methyl-2,6-bis(1-(2-piperidinoethyl)iminomethyl)-phenol, HL2 = 4-methyl-2,6-bis(1-(2-pyrrolidinoethyl)iminomethyl)-phenol, HL3 = 4-methyl-2,6-bis(1-(2-morpholinoethyl)iminomethyl)-phenol and HL4 = 4-methyl-2,6-bis(cyclohexylmethyl)iminomethyl)-phenol, were synthesized. They were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV–Vis, fluorescence and electronspray ionization mass spectroscopy. Complexes 1 and 4 were also characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis. The cadmiums atoms in 1 are linked by μ2-chloride in a distorted square pyramidal geometry, whereas cadmium atom in 4 is in a distorted octahedral environment. The complexes show emission bands around 500 nm with excitation at 395 nm.  相似文献

New bi- and trihomonuclear Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) complexes with sulfa-guanidine Schiff bases have been synthesized for potential chemotherapeutic use. The complexes are characterized using elemental and thermal (TGA) analyses, mass spectra (MS), molar conductance, IR, 1H-NMR, UV-Vis, and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra as well as magnetic moment measurements. The low molar conductance values denote non-electrolytes. The thermal behavior of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes lose water of hydration in the first step followed by loss of coordinated water followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligands in subsequent steps. IR and 1H-NMR data reveal that ligands are coordinated to the metal ions by two or three bidentate centers via the enol form of the carbonyl C=O group, enolic sulfonamide S(O)OH, and the nitrogen of azomethine. The UV-Vis and ESR spectra as well as magnetic moment data reveal that formation of octahedral [Mn2L1(AcO)2(H2O)6] (1), [Co2(L1)2(H2O)8] (2), [Ni2L1(AcO)2(H2O)6] (3), [Mn3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] (5), [Co3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] · 4H2O (6), [Ni3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] · 7H2O (7), [Mn3L3(AcO)3(H2O)6] (9), [Co2(HL3)2(H2O)8] · 4H2O (10), [Ni3L3(AcO)3(H2O)9] (11), [Mn3L4(AcO)3(H2O)9] · H2O (13), [Co2(HL4)2(H2O)8] · 5H2O (14), and [Ni3L4(AcO)3(H2O)9] (15) while [Zn2L1(AcO)2(H2O)2] (4), [Zn3L2(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 2H2O (8), [Zn3L3(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 3H2O (12), and [Zn3L4(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 2H2O (16) are tetrahedral. The electron spray ionization (ESI) MS of the complexes showed isotope ion peaks of [M]+ and fragments supporting the formulation.  相似文献

Four copper(II) complexes and one copper(I) complex with pyridine-containing pyridylalkylamide ligands N-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)pyrazine-2-carboxamide (HLpz) and N-(2-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl)pyrazine-2-carboxamide (HLpz?) were synthesized and characterized. The X-ray crystal structures of [Cu2(Lpz)2(4,4?-bipy)(OTf)2] (1, OTf?=?trifluoromethanesulfonate, 4,4?-bipy?=?4,4?-bipyridine) and [Cu(Lpz)(py)2]OTf·H2O (2, py?=?pyridine) revealed binuclear and mononuclear molecular species, respectively, while [Cu(Lpz)(μ2-1,1-N3)]n (3), [Cu(Lpz?)(μ2-1,3-N3)]n (4), and [Cu(HLpz)Cl]n (5) are coordination polymer 1-D chains in the solid state.  相似文献

Reactions of hydrated zinc(II) trifluoroacetate and sodium azide with two tridentate Schiff bases HL1 (2-((E)-(2-(dimethylamino)ethylimino)methyl)-4-chlorophenol) and HL2 (2-((E)-(2-(dimethylamino)ethylimino)methyl)-4-bromophenol) under the same reaction conditions yielded two dinuclear isostructural zinc(II) complexes, [Zn(L1)(N3)]2 (1) and [Zn(L2)(N3)]2 (2), respectively. The complexes were characterized systematically by elemental analysis, UV–Vis, FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies reveal that each of the dinuclear complexes consists of two crystallographically independent zinc(II) ions connected by double bridging phenoxides. All zinc(II) ions in 1 and 2 are surrounded by similar donor sets and display distorted square–pyramidal coordination geometries. The ligands and complexes reveal intraligand 1(π → π*) flourescence. The enhancement of the fluorescence intensities for the complexes compared to the ligands indicates their potential to serve as photoactive materials.  相似文献

Three new centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complexes, [Cu2Cl2(L1)2] (1), [Cu2(μ 1,3-NCS)2(L2)2] (2), and [Cu2(μ 1,1-N3)2(L3)2] (3), where L1, L2, and L3 are the deprotonated forms of the Schiff bases 1-[(2-propylaminoethylimino)methyl]naphthalen-2-ol (HL1), 1-[(3-methylaminopropylimino)methyl]naphthalen-2-ol (HL2), and 2-[(2-isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol (HL3), respectively, have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Each Cu is coordinated by the three donors of the Schiff bases and by two bridging groups, forming a square-pyramidal geometry.  相似文献

Three supramolecular complexes [Zn(HL1 )2(H2O)2(ZnCl4)2] (1), [Cu(L2 )2Cl2] (2), and [Zn(L3 )Cl2] (3) have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (L1 = 3,5-di(2-pyridyl)-4-amino-1,2,4-triazole, L2 = 3,5-di(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole, and L3 = 2-pyridinecarboxylic acid (pyridin-2-ylmethylene)-hydrazide). In 1, anion–π interactions between Cl? and the π-systems of L1 are observed and anion–π, hydrogen bonding and π–π stacking interactions link the two complex units of [Zn(HL1 )2(H2O)2]4+ and [ZnCl4]2? to form a 3-D supramolecular network. In 2, π–π stacking interactions between aromatic rings of 1,2,4-triazole and pyridine rings are observed; in 3, hydrogen bonding of Cl ··· H–N and π–π stacking interactions between parallel pyridine rings of L 3 are observed. The mechanisms of rearrangement reactions of L to L1 L3 are discussed. The fluorescent properties for solid 1 and 3 are also investigated.  相似文献

A series of binuclear Schiff-base complexes of zinc(II) and mercury(II) containing bidentate ligands (HL) [HL?=?salicylidene-2-methyl-1-aminobenzene (HL1), salicylidene-2-aminopyridine (HL2), and salicylidene-3-nitro-1-aminobenzene (HL3)] with “N” and “O” donors have been synthesized by simple metathetic reactions of anhydrous metal chlorides with sodium salts of Schiff bases (in tetrahydrofuran (THF)/MeOH) in equimolar ratio to produce [(µ-Cl)2M2(L)2?·?xTHF] [where M?=?Zn(II) and Hg(II); L?=?HL1, HL2, and HL3; x?=?0 for (1), (4), (6) and x?=?2 for (2), (3), (5)]. The main emphasis on the complexes [(µ-Cl)2M2(L)2?·?2THF] (2), (3), and (5) is given due to their five-coordinate environment around metal ions. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses (M, Cl, C, H, N), melting point, and spectral (FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR) studies. The structural composition of the complexes has been determined by FAB-MS spectral studies. FAB-MS showed the isotopic molecular ion peak [M+] and fragments supporting the formulation. Powder X-ray diffraction study of 6 is also reported showing the crystallite size (404.5?Å) of the complex.  相似文献

Three mercury(II) complexes containing double-betaine and halide ligands, [(HgCl2)2(L1)] n (1), [(HgBr2)2(L1)(H2O)2] n (2), and [2HgCl2(HL1)·Hg2Cl6] n (3) [L1=O2CCH2N+(CH2CH2)3-N+H2CO2 ], have been prepared and shown to have polymeric structures by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Complex (1) exhibits an infinite zigzag chain in which each mercury(II) atom is coordinated by pairs of carboxylate oxygen atoms and chloride ligands in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. In complex (2), the mercury(II) atom is in an unusual square-planar coordination geometry, and weak mercury-ligand and hydrogen bonding extend the structural skeletons into a three-dimensional network. Complex (3) consists primarily of an assembly of HgCl2(HL1) moieties and [Hg2Cl6] anions, and the mercury(II) atoms are in planar T-shaped and distorted tetrahedral coordination environments, respectively. The resulting three-dimensional network is based on the cross-linkage of nearly planar, wide ribbons running in thea direction.  相似文献

Reactions of HgX2 (X?=?Cl, N3, NO3) with (E)-2-methoxy-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)aniline (L1) and (E)-4-methoxy-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)aniline (L2) in ethanol gave two monomers, [HgL1(Cl)2] (1) and [HgL2(NO3)2(DMSO)] (5), and three coordination polymers, {[HgL1(N3)2]2·Hg(N3)2}n (2), [HgL2(Cl)2]n (3), and [HgL2(NO3)2]n·nCH3CN (4). Compounds 1–5 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The common feature of monomeric 1 and 5 is the presence of intra- and intermolecular Hg–O bonds. In the absence of these, polymeric structures arise as a result of azide, chloride, and nitrate bridging in 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Fluorescent properties of 1–5 were also investigated.  相似文献

Five zinc(II) complexes, [Zn(L1)2] (1), [Zn(L1)2(phen)H2O]·H2O (2), [Zn(L1)2(bipy)] (3), [Zn(L2)2] (4), and [Zn(L2)2(phen)] (5) (where L1?=?4-nitrophenylacetate, L2?=?phenylacetate, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline and bipy?=?2,2′-bipyridine), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and multinuclear NMR. Complexes 2, 3, and 4 have been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In 2 and 3, zinc is bonded monodentate to two carboxylates exhibiting distorted trigonal bipyramidal and tetrahedral geometries, respectively, whereas in 4, the carboxylates are bridging bidentate in distorted tetrahedral geometry. The complexes have been screened for electro- and biological activities, including DNA interaction and enzyme inhibition studies. The effect of concentration of 1–5 on the activity of enzyme, alkaline phosphatase, showed that an increase in concentration of complex decreased the activity of the enzyme. Electrochemical behavior of HL1, 2, and 3 was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and it was observed that ligand-centered electro-activity exhibits a proportionate change on complexation. The UV–visible spectroscopic and viscometric data indicate electrostatic and groove binding of the complexes with DNA. The binding constant and Gibb’s free energy values indicate the feasibility of the complex–DNA interaction and show potent biological activity of the complexes.  相似文献

By condensation of amantadine and 4-methoxysalicylaldehyde a new Schiff base HL was synthesized. A mixture of HL and zinc(II) chloride in an alcoholic medium leads to [Zn(HL)2Cl2] (1). However, the same reactants gave another different complex (ZnL2) (2) in the presence of NaOH. The two complexes were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis, molar conductance, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system, Pī space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one zinc(II), two HL, and two chlorides. The tetra coordination of central zinc is attained by two chlorides and two oxygens from the Schiff base, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, P21/c space group; each asymmetric unit consists of one zinc(II) and two L. The tetra coordination of central zinc is attained by two nitrogens and two oxygens from the Schiff base, forming a distorted tetrahedral geometry.  相似文献

Four new mononuclear complexes, [Ni(L1)(NCS)2] (1), [Ni(L2)(NCS)2] (2), [Co(L1)(N3)2]ClO4 (3), and [Co(L2)(N3)2]ClO4 (4), where L1 and L2 are N,N′-bis[(pyridin-2-yl)methylidene]butane-1,4-diamine and N,N′-bis[(pyridin-2-yl)benzylidene]butane-1,4-diamine, respectively, have been prepared. The syntheses have been achieved by reaction of the respective metal perchlorate with the tetradentate Schiff bases, L1 and L2, in presence of thiocyanate (for 1 and 2) or azide (for 3 and 4). The complexes have been characterized by microanalytical, spectroscopic, single crystal X-ray diffraction and other physicochemical studies. Structural studies reveal that 14 are distorted octahedral geometries. The antibacterial activity of all the complexes and their constituent Schiff bases have been tested against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.  相似文献

Two Schiff bases, 1-acetylferrocene thiosemicarbazone (HL1) and 1,1′-diacetyl-ferrocene dithiosemicarbazone (H2L2) and their copper(II) complexes were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity, and spectral (IR, UV–Vis, ESR) measurements The IR spectra showed that HL1 acts as neutral or monobasic bidentate ligand, coordinating to copper(II) through either thiono- or thiolo-sulphur and azomethine-N atoms, whereas H2L2 is a neutral or dibasic mononucleating or binucleating quadridentate ligand coordinating through the same atoms. Other spectral measurements indicate that complexes [(L1)2Cu], [(L2)Cu] and [(HL1)2Cu]X2, X?=?Cl, Br or ClO4 have square-planar geometry around copper(II) while [(HL1)CuX2] and [(H2L2)Cu2X4], X?=?Cl or Br, have distorted tetrahedral geometry. The biological activity studies of the complexes and the free ligands towards two gram positive and two gram negative bacteria and one fungal species have been studied and the potential is related to the nature and structure of the tested compounds.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and the characterization (elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal methods and molar conductivity measurements) of the mixed complexes of zinc with acetate and 3-amino-5-methylpyrazole, HL 1, [Zn(OAc)2(HL1)2], or 3-amino-5-phenylpyrazole, HL 2 [Zn(OAc)2(HL2)2], or 4-acetyl-3-amino-5-methylpyrazole, HL 3, [Zn(OAc)(L3)(HL3)]2, with isothiocyanate and HL 2 [Zn(SCN)2(HL2)2], or HL 3 [Zn(SCN)2(HL3)2], and with nitrate, isothiocyanate and 3,5-dimethyl-1-carboxamidinepyrazole, HL 4 [Zn(NO3)(NCS)(HL4)2]. The thermal decomposition of the complexes is generally continuous resulting zinc oxide as end product, except [Zn(OAc)(L3)(HL3)]2 in which case a well-defined intermediate was observed between 570–620 K. On the basis of the IR spectra and elemental analysis data of the intermediate a decomposition scheme is proposed. Two new N2O2 unsymmetrical Schiff bases, H2L1 = 3-[({o-[(E)-(o-hydroxyphenyl)methylideneamino]phenyl}methyl)imino]-1-phenyl-1-buten-1-ol and H2L2 = 3-[({o-[(E)-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)methylideneamino]phenyl}methyl)imino]-1-phenyl-1-buten-1-ol, and their copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes, [CuL1] (1), [CuL2] (2), [NiL1] (3), and [NiL2] (4), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic methods. The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The coordination geometry around Cu(II) and Ni(II) centers is described as distorted square planar in all complexes with the CuN2O2 coordination more distorted than the Ni ones. The electrochemical studies of these complexes indicate a good correlation between the structural distortion and the redox potentials of the metal centers. The ligand and metal complexes were also screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity.  相似文献

The paper describes the results of differential thermal analysis of the octahedral Fe(III) complexes of the general formula [Fe(HLn)2]Cl and Fe(HL3)L3, as well as of the corresponding ligands H2Ln (H2Ln — tridentate salicylaldehyde semi thiosemi- and S-methylisothiosemi-carabazones with n=1, 2 and 3 respectively). The decomposition of the complexes involving sulphur-containing ligands (H2L2 and H2L3) starts with sulphur elimination. In case of the complexes [Fe(HL2)]Cl and [Fe(HL3)]Cl sulphur evolves independently, whereas with Fe(HL3)L3 it is eliminated within the SCH3 group. In the former case, sulphur elimination takes place at the same temperature for both complexes. The change in the coordination mode, being a consequence of the replacement of O by S, has no essential effect on thermal stability of the coordination polyhedron. The complexes involving ONN coordination, realized with the H2L3 ligand, exhibit a comparatively highest thermal stability of the coordination polyhedron. This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new transition metal complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with 3‐(2‐hydroxynaph‐1‐ylazo)‐1,2,4‐triazole ( HL1 ) and 3‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐carboxynaph‐1‐ylazo)‐1,2,4‐triazole ( HL2 ) have been carried out. Their structures were confirmed by elemental analyses, thermal analyses, spectral and magnetic data. The IR and 1H NMR spectra indicated that HL1 and HL2 coordinated to the metal ions as bidentate monobasic ligands via the hydroxyl O and azo N atoms. The UV‐Vis, ESR spectra and magnetic moment data revealed the formation of octahedral complexes [Mn L1 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 1 ), [Co L1 (AcO)(H2O)3]·H2O ( 2 ), [Mn L2 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 6 ) and [Co L2 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 7 ), [Ni L1 (AcO)(H2O)] ( 3 ), [Zn L1 (AcO)(H2O)]·H2O ( 5 ), [Ni L2 (AcO)(H2O)] ( 8 ), [Zn L2 (AcO)(H2O)]·10H2O ( 10 ) have tetrahedral geometry, whereas [Cu L1 (AcO)(H2O)2] ( 4 ) and [Cu L2 (AcO)(H2O)2]·5H2O ( 9 ) have square pyramidal geometry.. The mass spectra of the complexes under EI‐con‐ ditions showed the highest peaks corresponding to their molecular weights, based on the atomic weights of 55Mn, 59Co, 58Ni, 63Cu and 64Zn isotopes; besides, other peaks containing other isotopes distribution of the metal. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the thermal decomposition stages were computed from the thermal data using Coats‐Redfern method. HL2 and complexes 6 – 10 were found to have moderate antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive), Escherichia coli (gram negative) and Salmonella sp bacteria, and antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. Also, in most cases, metallation increased the activity compared with the free ligand.  相似文献
