We have studied the probe gain via a double-Λ atomic system with a pair of closely lying lower levels in the presence of two probe and two coherent pump fields. The inversionless gain can be realized by using nondegenerate four-wave mixing under the condition of spontaneously generated coherence(SGC) owing to near-degenerate lower levels. Note that by using SGC, two probe fields can be amplified with more remarkable amplitudes, and the gain spectra of an extremely narrow linewidth can be obtained. Last but not least, our results show that the probe gain is quite sensitive to relative phases due to the SGC presence which allows one to modulate the gain spectra periodically by phase modulation, and can also be influenced by all laser field intensities and frequencies, and the angles between dipole elements.  相似文献

For a four-level atomic system with a doublet of closely spaced levels, we find that, owing to the coherence that results from the vacuum of the radiation field, population trapping at excited levels and probe gain with population inversion can be achieved with weak incoherent pumping. This gain is different from both the conventional lasing gain and gain without inversion in that there exists population inversion on probe transitions but the inversion is achieved by the vacuum-induced coherence.  相似文献

研究了三能级原子与多模光场相互作用的量子系统,从系统的密度矩阵运动方程出发讨论了无粒子数反转探测场的增益条件,发现当驱动场拉比频率取5,探测场拉比频率取1,非相干抽运取3,驱动场失谐量取3时,系统可以在偏离共振的两端获得粒子数无反转而相应的探测场获得了增益,即实现了无粒子数反转激光,其在光通信方面具有重要的应用价值。  相似文献

The transient gain property of a weak probe field in an asymmetric semiconductor coupled double quantum well structure is reported. The transient process of the system, which is induced by the external coherent coupling field, shows the property of no inverse gain. We find that the transient behavior of the probe field can be tuned by the change of tunneling barrier. Both the amplitude of the transient gain and the frequency of the oscillation can be affected by the lifetime broadening.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the optical properties of an open four-level tripod atomic system driven by an elliptically polarized probe field in the presence of the external magnetic field and compare its properties with the corresponding closed system.Our result reveals that absorption,dispersion and group velocity of probe field can be manipulated by adjusting the phase difference between the two circularly polarized components of a single coherent field,magnetic field and cavity parameters i.e.the atomic exit rate from cavity and atomic injection rates.We show that the system can exhibit multiple electromagnetically induced transparency windows in the presence of the external magnetic field.The numerical result shows that the probe field in the open system can be amplified by appropriate choice of cavity parameters,while in the closed system with introduce appropriate phase difference between fields the probe field can be enhanced.Also it is shown that the group velocity of light pulse can be controlled by external magnetic field,relative phase of applied fields and cavity parameters.By changing the parameters the group velocity of light pulse changes from subluminal to superluminal light propagation and vice versa.  相似文献

利用具有自发辐射诱导相干开放四能级系统的定态数值解,从不同角度分析了探测场和驱动场之间的相对位相Φ对探测场增益(吸收)以及粒子数差的影响.研究结果表明:通过对相对位相的控制,可以实现探测场无反转增益和色散的周期性放大和减弱,并能得到无吸收高色散;Φ=α的色散曲线与Φ=α+π/2的增益曲线相似;在探测场共振条件下,适当调节相对位相,可以使无反转激光(LWI)增益达到最大.还研究了粒子注入和退出速率的变化对位相相关的LWI增益的调制作用.  相似文献

In this study, the probe response of a cavity optomechanical system with periodic modulation of the optomechanical coupling is investigated. The modulation arises from the beat effect between two external coherent driving lights, with the beat frequency matching the modulation frequency. The transmission coefficient is derived for the probe field and significant amplification, rather than absorption in the conventional optomechanically induced transparency schemes, is observed near the transparent point when the modulation is introduced. In addition, the coupling modulation can also enhance the slow light effect.  相似文献

Existing Q-band (35 GHz) EPR spectrometers employ cylindrical cavities for more intense microwave magnetic fields B1, but are so constructed that only one orientation between the external field B and B1is allowed, namely the B B1orientation, thus limiting the use of the spectrometer to measurements on Kramers spin systems (odd electron systems). We have designed and built a Q-band microwave probe to detect EPR signals in even electron systems, which operates in the range 2 K ≤ T ≤ 300 K for studies of metalloprotein samples. The cylindrical microwave cavity operates in the TE011mode with cylindrical wall coupling to the waveguide, thus allowing all orientations of the external magnetic field B relative to the microwave field B1. Such orientations allow observation of EPR transitions in non-Kramers ions (even electron) which are either forbidden or significantly weaker for B B1. Rotation of the external magnetic field also permits easy differentiation between spin systems from even and odd electron oxidation states. The cavity consists of a metallic helix and thin metallic end walls mounted on epoxy supports, which allows efficient penetration of the modulation field. The first quantitative EPR measurements from a metalloprotein (Hemerythrin) at 35 GHz with B1 B are presented.  相似文献

A periodic layered medium, with unit cells consisting of a dielectric and an electromagnetically-induced transparency (EIT)-based atomic vapor, is designed for light propagation manipulation. Considering that a destructive quantum interference relevant to a two-photon resonance emerges in EIT-based atoms interacting with both control and probe fields, an EIT-based periodic layered medium exhibits a flexible frequency-sensitive optical response, where a very small variation in the probe frequency can lead to a drastic variation in reflectance and transmittance. The present EIT-based periodic layered structure can result in controllable optical processes that depend sensitively on the external control field. The tunable and sensitive optical response induced by the quantum interference of a multi-level atomic system can be applied in the fabrication of new photonic and quantum optical devices. This material will also open a good perspective for the application of such designs in several new fields, including photonic microcircuits or integrated optical circuits.  相似文献

The spectrum of weak probe field absorption (amplification) by two-level atoms experiencing collisions with buffer gas atoms in a strong resonance laser field is studied theoretically. Analysis is carried out for systems with a weak Doppler broadening under relatively mild constraints on the strong field intensity for the general case of an arbitrary change in the phase of the radiation-induced dipole moment in elastic collisions of gas particles. It is shown that, in spite of uniform broadening of the absorption line, the probe field spectrum exhibits a clearly manifested anisotropy to mutual orientation of the wavevectors of strong and probe radiation. It is found that the width of resonances in the probe field spectrum under definite conditions (that can easily be created in experiments) is proportional to the diffusion coefficient for atoms interacting with radiation. This fact can form the basis of the spectroscopic method for measuring the transport frequencies of collisions between particles absorbing radiation and buffer particles. It is shown that phase memory effects in collisions strongly modify the probe field spectrum both qualitatively and quantitatively. Simple operative formulas proposed for the probe field spectrum are convenient for experimental data processing.  相似文献

In order to achieve the phase-sensitive probe gain without population inversion, we investigate a three-level Λ-type atomic system driven by a coherent field and a microwave field. It is shown that, by modulating the relative phase of applied fields, we can obtain quite high inversionless gain at different probe detunings and change the gain behavior of the probe correspondingly. We find that amplitudes of the coherent field and the microwave field are also important factors that can result in different gain behavior of the probe. Here, we use the microwave field to induce the quantum coherence between the two ground levels, which is necessary for phase-sensitive effects, since it can result in the interference between two different transition channels. A novel four-level atomic system which interacted by an elliptically polarized probe field and a control laser field in the presence of external magnetic field is proposed. Here, we are interested in the transient properties of a weak probe field due to its potential application on quantum computing and quantum communication. 利用数值模拟的方法讨论了稳态下准型四能级原子与两光场相互作用系统对探测场的增益以及与粒子数布居规律之间的关系。结果表明即使在场较弱的情况下,随着探测场和它所对应能级间跃迁频率失谐量的变化,系统在所有拉比频率相位为零时对探测光总会同时呈现三个增益峰和两个固定的产生电磁感应透明(EIT)现象的位置,并且当系统呈现电磁感应透明的同时,探测场所对应的高能级粒子数为零;而拉比频率相位的变化则会导致系统对探测光既有吸收也有增益,并且也呈现电磁感应透明现象,但仅仅相位的变化并不影响高能级的粒子数分布。值得注意的是该结果均在精确求解下所得。  相似文献

利用数值计算结果,讨论了在Y型四能级原子系统中Doppler展宽对与真空诱导相干性(VIC) 相关的探测场吸收性质的影响.研究结果表明: 当无Doppler展宽时,只有不存在VIC时才可能产生电磁感应透明(EIT)现象; VIC将导致探测场吸收的明显改变和增益产生;在VIC存在和不存在两种情况中,吸收曲线都具有关于探测场失谐对称的双峰结构. 当有Doppler展宽时,在VIC存在和不存在两种情况中都能产生EIT现象; VIC仍将导致探测场吸收的明显改变和增益产生;不管是否存在VIC,探测场吸收都具有以下特征:吸收曲线不再具有关于探测场失谐的对称性且随Doppler展宽宽度(D)值的增大而逐渐从双峰结构变为单峰结构,探测场吸收不随D值的增大而单调增大或减小,在探测场和驱动场的传播方向相反时可获得比传播方向相同时更小的探测场吸收.  相似文献

Transverse spatial modulation of beam profiles for a probe beam counterpropagating to a pump beam in a 45°-cut BaTiO3:Ce crystal with an externally applied electric field is studied numerically studied. For the case that the direct ion of the external field makes an angle of 45° with the c-axis of the crystal, the probe beam, which propagates in the direction perpendicular to the external field and has a waist wider than that of the pump beam, can acquire deep spatial modulation. In contrast, the pump beam shows no spatial modulation but diffracts only. For the case the external field is directed opposite to the direction mentioned above, the probe beam shows much stronger spatial modulation as compared to the pump.  相似文献
