In this paper, I study the microlocal hypoellipticity for a class of totally characteristic operators (1.1). My main result is as follows: Under the conditions (I), (II), if the indicial operator of (1.1) is microlocally hypoelliptic in the complement ofWF x(Pu(t,·)) for anyu(t,x)∈C b ([0,T], ℰ),t∈[0,T], λ∈ℤ, then the operator (1.1) is microlocally hypoelliptic in the variablex. It is proved that for everyu 0D(φ) the equation − (du/dt)(t ∈ ∂φ(u(t)),u(0)=u 0 has a solution satisfying ÷(du(t)/dt)÷ ≦(c 1/t)+c 2. The behavior ofu(t) in the neighborhood oft=0 andt=+∞ as well as the inhomogeneous equation (du(t)/dt)+∂φ(u(t)) ∈f(t) are then studied. For a triple {V, H, V*} of Hilbert spaces, we consider an evolution inclusion of the form u′(t)+A(t)u(t)+δϕ(t, u(t)) f(t), u(0) = u0, t ∈ (0, T ], where A(t) and ϕ(t, ·), t ∈ [0, T], are a family of nonlinear operators from V to V * and a family of convex lower semicontinuous functionals with common effective domain D(ϕ) ⊂ V. We indicate conditions on the data under which there exists a unique solution of the problem in the space H 1(0, T; V)∩W 1 (0, T;H) and the implicit Euler method has first-order accuracy in the energy norm.  相似文献

LetX be a Banach space and letA be the infinitesimal generator of a differentiable semigroup {T(t) |t ≥ 0}, i.e. aC 0-semigroup such thattT(t)x is differentiable on (0, ∞) for everyx εX. LetB be a bounded linear operator onX and let {S(t) |t ≥ 0} be the semigroup generated byA +B. Renardy recently gave an example which shows that {S(t) |t ≥ 0} need not be differentiable. In this paper we give a condition on the growth of ‖T′(t)‖ ast ↓ 0 which is sufficient to ensure that {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable. Moreover, we use Renardy’s example to study the optimality of our growth condition. Our results can be summarized roughly as follows:
(i)  If lim sup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/log(1/2) = 0 then {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable.
(ii)  If 0<L=lim sup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/log(1/2)<∞ thentS(t ) is differentiable on (L, ∞) in the uniform operator topology, but need not be differentiable near zero
(iii)  For each function α: (0, 1) → (0, ∞) with α(t)/log(1/t) → ∞ ast ↓ 0, Renardy’s example can be adjusted so that limsup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/α(t) = 0 andtS(t) is nowhere differentiable on (0, ∞).
We also show that if lim sup t→0+t pT′(t)‖<∞ for a givenp ε [1, ∞), then lim sup t→0+t pS′(t)‖<∞; it was known previously that if limsup t→0+t pT′(t)‖<∞, then {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable and limsup t→0+t 2p–1S′(t)‖<∞.  相似文献

We are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem: −Δu(x) = f(x, u), x∈Ω, uH 1 0(Ω), (P) where f(x, t) ∈C (×ℝ), f(x, t)/t is nondecreasing in t∈ℝ and tends to an L -function q(x) uniformly in x∈Ω as t→ + ∞ (i.e., f(x, t) is asymptotically linear in t at infinity). In this case, an Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz-type condition, that is, for some θ > 2, M > 0, 0 > θF(x, s) ≤f(x, s)s, for all |s|≥M and x∈Ω, (AR) is no longer true, where F(x, s) = ∫ s 0 f(x, t)dt. As is well known, (AR) is an important technical condition in applying Mountain Pass Theorem. In this paper, without assuming (AR) we prove, by using a variant version of Mountain Pass Theorem, that problem (P) has a positive solution under suitable conditions on f(x, t) and q(x). In this paper we study the blow-up criterion of smooth solutions to the incompressible magnetohydrodynamics system in BMO space. Let (u(x,t),b(x,t)) be smooth solutions in (0, T). It is shown that the solution (u(x, t), b(x, t)) can be extended beyond t = T if (u(x,t), b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO) or the vorticity (rot u(x, t), rot b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO) or the deformation (Def u(x, t), Def b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO).  相似文献

In this article, a semigroup approach is presented for the mathematical analysis of the inverse coefficient problems of identifying the unknown diffusion coefficient k(u(x, t)) in the quasi‐linear parabolic equation ut(x, t)=(k(u(x, t))ux(x, t))x, with Dirichlet boundary conditions ux(0, t)=ψ0, u(1, t)=ψ1. The main purpose of this work is to analyze the distinguishability of the input–output mappings Φ[·] : ??→C1[0, T], Ψ[·] : ??→C1[0, T] using semigroup theory. In this article, it is shown that if the null space of semigroups T(t) and S(t) consists of only a zero function, then the input–output mappings Φ[·] and Ψ[·] have the distinguishability property. In this paper, we shall consider the exact Hausdorff measures for the image and graph sets of the d-dimensional iterated Brownian motion X(t), where X(t) = (Xi(t),... ,Xd(t)) and X1(t),... ,Xd(t) are d independent copies of Y(t) = W(B(t)). This paper studies the subset of the non-Strebel points in the universal Teichmuller space T. Let Z0 ∈ △be a fixed point. Of concern are semigroups of linear norm one operators on Hilbert space of the form (discrete case)T={T n /n=0,1,2,...} or (continuous case)T={T(t)/t=≥0}. Using ergodic theory and Hilbert-Schmidt operators, the Cesàro limits (asn→∞) of |〈T n f,f〉|2, |〈T (n)f,f〉|2 are computed (withn∈ℤ+ orn∈ℤ+). Specializing the Hilbert space to beL 2(T,μ) (discrete case) orL 2(ℝ,μ) (continuous case) where μ is a Borel probability measure on the circle group or the line, the Cesàro limit of (asn→±∞, with,n∈ℤ orn∈ℝ) is obtained and interpreted. We study in this paper an M/M/1 queue whose server rate depends upon the state of an independent Ornstein–Uhlenbeck diffusion process (X(t)) so that its value at time t is μ φ(X(t)), where φ(x) is some bounded function and μ>0. We first establish the differential system for the conditional probability density functions of the couple (L(t),X(t)) in the stationary regime, where L(t) is the number of customers in the system at time t. By assuming that φ(x) is defined by φ(x)=1−ε((x a/ε)(−b/ε)) for some positive real numbers a, b and ε, we show that the above differential system has a unique solution under some condition on a and b. We then show that this solution is close, in some appropriate sense, to the solution to the differential system obtained when φ is replaced with Φ(x)=1−ε x for sufficiently small ε. We finally perform a perturbation analysis of this latter solution for small ε. This allows us to check at the first order the validity of the so-called reduced service rate approximation, stating that everything happens as if the server rate were constant and equal to .   相似文献
