The algebraic independence of certain transcendental continued fractions   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In the present note the algebraic independence of certain continued fractions is proved. Especially, we prove that the Böhmer-Mahler's series \(\sum\limits_{K = 1}^\infty {\left[ {\omega _v k} \right]} {\text{ }}g_\mu ^{ - k} \left( {1 \leqslant \mu \leqslant s,1 \leqslant v \leqslant t} \right)\) are algebraically independent, where \(\mathop \omega \nolimits_1 {\text{ , }}...{\text{ , }}\mathop \omega \nolimits_{\text{t}} \) , ..., \(\mathop g\nolimits_1 {\text{ , }}...{\text{ , }}\mathop g\nolimits_s \) are some irrational numbers andg 1, ...,g s are distinct positive integers.  相似文献

The Calderon type operator $$Sx(t) = \int\limits_0^\infty {x(s)d\mathop {\min }\limits_{i = 0,1} \{ \varphi _i (s)/\Psi _\iota (t)\} } $$ is investigated from the point of view of its bounded action in symmetric spaces of measurable functions on [0, ∞), whereφ i(t) andΨ i(t) are concave positive functions on [0, ∞). The following assertions are proved. Theorem 1. Let 1) \(\alpha _{\varphi _1 } > \beta (E) \geqq \alpha (E) > \beta _{\varphi _0 } ,\) , 2)either \(\beta _{\psi _0 }< 1\) or \(\beta _{\psi 1}< 1\) ,where \(\alpha _{\varphi _1 } \) and \(\beta _{\psi _1 } \) denote exponents of the functions φ i and Ψi, i=0, 1,and α(E),β(E) are indices of the space E. Then the Calderon operator acts boundedly from E into E δ,where δ(t) and χ(t) stand for measurable solutions of the equations $$\psi _i (\delta (t)) = \chi (t)\varphi _i (t),i = 0,1,$$ and $$||x||_{E_{\delta ,\chi } } = ||x^{**} (\delta (t))\chi (t)||_E .$$ Theorem 2.If the ratio φ 0/φ(t)/φ1(t) is non-increasing, Ψi(t) are semimultiplicative and \(\alpha _{\psi _i } \) (i=0, 1),then a necessary condition for the Calderon operator to act boundedly from E into E δ, χ $$\beta _{\varphi _1 } \geqq \beta (E) \geqq \alpha (E) \geqq \alpha _{\varphi _0 } .$$   相似文献

Let{Y_t,t=1,2,…} be independent random variables with continuous distribution functionsF_i(y).For any y,dencte s=F_t(y)=1/t sum from i=1 to t F_i(y).The empirical process is defind by t~(-1/2)R(s,t) whereR(s,t)=t(1/t sum from i=1 to t I_((?)_t(Y_i)≤s)-s)=sum from i=1 to t I_(?)-ts=sum from i=1 to t I_(?)-(?)_t(y)=sum from i=1 to t I_(Y_(?)≤y)-sum from i=1 to t F_i(y).The purpose of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic properties of the empirical processR(s,t).We shall prove that for some integer sequence {t_k},there is a (?)-process (?)(s,t) such that(?)|R(s,t_k)-(?)(s,t_k)|=O(t_k~(1/2)(log t_k)~(-1/4)(log log t_k)~(1/2))a.s.where (?)(s,t) is a two-parameter Gaussian process defined in §1.  相似文献

For a reperated zero-sum two-person game with incomplete information discussed byZamir, it is proved here that \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } \sqrt n v_n (p) = \phi (p)\) whereφ (p) is the normal density function evaluated at itsp-quantile (i.e. \(\phi (p) = \frac{1}{{\sqrt {2\pi } }}e^{ - ({1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 2}} \right. \kern-0em} 2})x^2 } p\) where \(\frac{1}{{\sqrt {2\pi } }}\mathop {\smallint ^p }\limits_{ - \infty }^x e^{ - ({1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 2}} \right. \kern-0em} 2})x^2 } dx = p\) . Here for 0?p?1, (p, 1 ?p) is the a priori probability distribution on two states of nature, the actual state of nature is known to the maximizer but not to the minimizer.v n (p) is the minimax value of the game withn stages.  相似文献

LetD be a simply connected domain, the boundary of which is a closed Jordan curveγ; \(\mathfrak{M} = \left\{ {z_{k, n} } \right\}\) , 0≦kn; n=1, 2, 3, ..., a matrix of interpolation knots, \(\mathfrak{M} \subset \Gamma ; A_c \left( {\bar D} \right)\) the space of the functions that are analytic inD and continuous on \(\bar D; \left\{ {L_n \left( {\mathfrak{M}; f, z} \right)} \right\}\) the sequence of the Lagrange interpolation polynomials. We say that a matrix \(\mathfrak{M}\) satisfies condition (B m ), \(\mathfrak{M}\) ∈(B m ), if for some positive integerm there exist a setB m containingm points and a sequencen p p=1 of integers such that the series \(\mathop \Sigma \limits_{p = 1}^\infty \frac{1}{{n_p }}\) diverges and for all pairsn i ,n j ∈{n p } p=1 the set \(\left( {\bigcap\limits_{k = 0}^{n_i } {z_{k, n_i } } } \right)\bigcap {\left( {\bigcup\limits_{k = 0}^{n_j } {z_{k, n_j } } } \right)} \) is contained inB m . The main result reads as follows. {Let D=z: ¦z¦ \(\Gamma = \partial \bar D\) and let the matrix \(\mathfrak{M} \subset \Gamma \) satisfy condition (Bm). Then there exists a function \(f \in A_c \left( {\bar D} \right)\) such that the relation $$\mathop {\lim \sup }\limits_{n \to \infty } \left| {L_n \left( {\mathfrak{M}, f, z} \right)} \right| = \infty $$ holds almost everywhere on γ.  相似文献

LetT be an operator on an infinite dimensional Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\) with eigenvectorsv i , ‖v i ‖=1,i=1, 2, ..., andsp{v i ?in} dense in \(\mathcal{H}\) . Suppose that {v i } is a Schauder basis for \(\mathcal{H}\) . We denote byA T the ultraweakly closed algebra generated byT andI, the identity operator on \(\mathcal{H}\) . For any nonnegative sequence of scalars \(\left\{ {\alpha ,with = \sum\nolimits_1^\infty {\alpha _1 } = 1} \right\},\) , we associate an ultraweakly (normal) continuous linear functional \(\phi _\alpha = \sum\nolimits_1^\infty {\alpha _j } \omega _v\) where \(\phi _\alpha \left( A \right) = \lim _n \sum\nolimits_1^n {\alpha _j } \omega _v ,\) , and \(\omega _v ,\left( A \right) =< Av_1 ,v_1 >\) for allAA T . We denote the set of all such linear functionals onA TbyF(T). The question that we investigate in this paper is whether each linear functional φα inF(T) is a vector state, i.e. does φαx for some unit vectorx in \(\mathcal{H}\) ?  相似文献

For anyx ∈ r put $$c(x) = \overline {\mathop {\lim }\limits_{t \to \infty } } \mathop {\min }\limits_{(p,q\mathop {) \in Z}\limits_{q \leqslant t} \times N} t\left| {qx - p} \right|.$$ . Let [x0; x1,..., xn, ...] be an expansion of x into a continued fraction and let \(M = \{ x \in J,\overline {\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } } x_n< \infty \}\) .ForxM put D(x)=c(x)/(1?c(x)). The structure of the set \(\mathfrak{D} = \{ D(x),x \in M\}\) is studied. It is shown that $$\mathfrak{D} \cap (3 + \sqrt 3 ,(5 + 3\sqrt 3 )/2) = \{ D(x^{(n,3} )\} _{n = 0}^\infty \nearrow (5 + 3\sqrt 3 )/2,$$ where \(x^{(n,3)} = [\overline {3;(1,2)_n ,1} ].\) This yields for \(\mu = \inf \{ z,\mathfrak{D} \supset (z, + \infty )\}\) (“origin of the ray”) the following lower bound: μ?(5+3√3)/2=5.0n>(5 + 3/3)/2=5.098.... Suppose a∈n. Put \(M(a) = \{ x \in M,\overline {\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } } x_n = a\}\) , \(\mathfrak{D}(a) = \{ D(x),x \in M(a)\}\) . The smallest limit point of \(\mathfrak{D}(a)(a \geqslant 2)\) is found. The structure of (a) is studied completely up to the smallest limit point and elucidated to the right of it.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine, in a systematic fashion, some ill-posed problems arising in the theory of heat conduction. In abstract terms, letH be a Hilbert space andA: D (A)?H→H be an unbounded normal operator, we consider the boundary value problemü(t)=Au(t), 0<t<∞,u(0)=u 0D(A), \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{t \to 0} \left\| {u\left( t \right)} \right\| = 0\) . The problem of recoveringu 0 whenu(T) is known for someT>0 is not well-posed. Suppose we are given approximationsx 1,x 2,…,x N tou(T 1),…,u(T N) with 0<T, <…<T N and positive weightsP i,i=1,…,n, \(\sum\limits_{i = 1}^N {P_i = 1} \) such that \(Q_2 \left( {u_0 } \right) = \sum\limits_{i = 1}^N {P_i } \left\| {u\left( {T_i } \right) - x_i } \right\|^2 \leqslant \varepsilon ^2 \) . If ‖u t(0)‖≤E for some a priori constantE, we construct a regularized solution ν(t) such that \(Q\left( {\nu \left( 0 \right)} \right) \leqslant \varepsilon ^2 \) while \(\left\| {u\left( 0 \right) - \nu \left( 0 \right)} \right\| = 0\left( {ln \left( {E/\varepsilon } \right)} \right)^{ - 1} \) and \(\left\| {u\left( t \right) - \nu \left( t \right)} \right\| = 0\left( {\varepsilon ^{\beta \left( t \right)} } \right)\) where 0<β(t)<1 and the constant in the order symbol depends uponE. The function β(t) is larger thant/m whent k andk is the largest integer such that \((\sum\limits_{k = 1}^N {P_i (T_i )} )< (\sum\limits_{k = 1}^N {P_i (T_i )} = m\) , which β(t)=t/m on [T k, m] and β(t)=1 on [m, ∞). Similar results are obtained if the measurement is made in the maximum norm, i.e.,Q (u 0)=max{‖u(T i)?x i‖, 1≤iN}.  相似文献

Let (X, Λ) be a pair of random variables, where Λ is an Ω (a compact subset of the real line) valued random variable with the density functiong(Θ: α) andX is a real-valued random variable whose conditional probability function given Λ=Θ is P {X=x|Θ} withx=x 0, x1, …. Based onn independent observations ofX, x (n), we are to estimate the true (unknown) parameter vectorα=(α 1, α2, ...,αm) of the probability function ofX, Pα(X=∫ΩP{X=x|Θ}g(Θ:α)dΘ. A least squares estimator of α is any vector \(\hat \alpha \left( {X^{\left( n \right)} } \right)\) which minimizes $$n^{ - 1} \sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {\left( {P_\alpha \left( {x_i } \right) - fn\left( {x_i } \right)} \right)^2 } $$ wherex (n)=(x1, x2,…,x n) is a random sample ofX andf n(xi)=[number ofx i inx (n)]/n. It is shown that the least squares estimators exist as a unique solution of the normal equations for all sufficiently large sample size (n) and the Gauss-Newton iteration method of obtaining the estimator is numerically stable. The least squares estimators converge to the true values at the rate of \(O\left( {\sqrt {2\log \left( {{{\log n} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\log n} n}} \right. \kern-0em} n}} \right)} } \right)\) with probability one, and has the asymptotically normal distribution.  相似文献

In a bounded domain of the n -dimensional (n?2) space one considers a class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations, whose model is the equation $$\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {\frac{{\partial F}}{{\partial x_i }}} (a^{\ell _i } (u)\left| {u_{x_i } } \right|^{m_i - 2} u_{x_i } ) = f(x),$$ where x =(x1,..., xr), li?0, mi>1, the function f is summable with some power, the nonnegative continuous function a(u) vanishes at a finite number of points and satisfies \(\frac{{lim}}{{\left| u \right| \to \infty }}a(u) > 0\) . One proves the existence of bounded generalized solutions with a finite integral $$\int\limits_\Omega {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {a^{\ell _i } (u)\left| {u_{x_i } } \right|^{m_i } dx} }$$ of the Dirichlet problem with zero boundary conditions.  相似文献

This paper deals with the very interesting problem about the influence of piecewise smooth boundary conditions on the distribution of the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian inR 3. The asymptotic expansion of the trace of the wave operator $\widehat\mu (t) = \sum\limits_{\upsilon = 1}^\infty {\exp \left( { - it\mu _\upsilon ^{1/2} } \right)} $ for small ?t? and $i = \sqrt { - 1} $ , where $\{ \mu _\nu \} _{\nu = 1}^\infty $ are the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian $ - \nabla ^2 = - \sum\limits_{k = 1}^3 {\left( {\frac{\partial }{{\partial x^k }}} \right)} ^2 $ in the (x 1,x 2,x 3), is studied for an annular vibrating membrane Ω inR 3 together with its smooth inner boundary surfaceS 1 and its smooth outer boundary surfaceS 2. In the present paper, a finite number of Dirichlet, Neumann and Robin boundary conditions on the piecewise smooth componentsS * i(i=1, …,m) ofS 1 and on the piecewise smooth componentsS * i(i=m+1, …,n) ofS 2 such that $S_1 = \bigcup\limits_{i = 1}^m {S_i^* } $ and $S_2 = \bigcup\limits_{i = m + 1}^n {S_i^* } $ are considered. The basic problem is to extract information on the geometry of the annular vibrating membrane ω from complete knowledge of its eigenvalues by analyzing the asymptotic expansions of the spectral function $\widehat\mu (t)$ for small ?t?.  相似文献
