Suppose 𝔽 is an arbitrary field of characteristic not 2 and 𝔽?≠?𝔽3. Let M n (𝔽) be the space of all n?×?n full matrices over 𝔽 and P n (𝔽) the subset of M n (𝔽) consisting of all n?×?n idempotent matrices and GL n (𝔽) the subset of M n (𝔽) consisting of all n?×?n invertible matrices. Let Φ𝔽(n,?m) denote the set of all maps from M n (𝔽) to M m (𝔽) satisfying A???λB?∈?P n (𝔽)???φ(A)???λφ(B)?∈?P m (𝔽) for every A,?B?∈?M n (𝔽) and λ?∈?𝔽, where m and n are integers with 3?≤?n?≤?m. It is shown that if φ?∈?Φ𝔽(n,?m), then there exists T?∈?GL m (𝔽) such that φ(A)?=?T?[A???I p ?⊕?A t ???I q ?⊕?0]T??1 for every A?∈?M n (𝔽), where I 0?=?0. This improves the results of some related references.  相似文献

Let A be a singular matrix of M n (𝕂), where 𝕂 is an arbitrary field. Using canonical forms, we give a new proof that the sub-semigroup of ( n (𝕂), ×) generated by the similarity class of A is the set of matrices of M n (𝕂) with a rank lesser than or equal to that of A.  相似文献

Let M n (𝔸) and T n (𝔸) be the algebra of all n?×?n matrices and the algebra of all n?×?n upper triangular matrices over a commutative unital algebra 𝔸, respectively. In this note we prove that every nonlinear Lie derivation from T n (𝔸) into M n (𝔸) is of the form A?→?AT???TA?+?A ??+?ξ(A)I n , where T?∈?M n (𝔸), ??:?𝔸?→?𝔸 is an additive derivation, ξ?:?T n (𝔸)?→?𝔸 is a nonlinear map with ξ(AB???BA)?=?0 for all A,?B?∈?T n (𝔸) and A ? is the image of A under???applied entrywise.  相似文献

Let 𝕋 n (D) be the set of n × n upper triangular matrices over a division ring D. We characterize the adjacency preserving bijective maps in both directions on 𝕋 n (D) (n ≥ 3). As applications, we describe the ring semi-automorphisms and the Jordan automorphisms on upper triangular matrices over a simple Artinian ring.  相似文献

Let 𝒯(n,?r;?W n?1) be the set of all n-vertex weighted trees with r vertices of degree 2 and fixed positive weight set W n?1, 𝒫(n,?γ;?W n?1) the set of all n-vertex weighted trees with q pendants and fixed positive weight set W n?1, where W n?1?=?{w 1,?w 2,?…?,?w n?1} with w 1???w 2???···???w n?1?>?0. In this article, we first identify the unique weighted tree in 𝒯(n,?r;?W n?1) with the largest adjacency spectral radius. Then we characterize the unique weighted trees with the largest adjacency spectral radius in 𝒫(n,?γ;?W n?1).  相似文献

For a simple graph G?=?(𝒱, ?) with vertex-set 𝒱?=?{1,?…?,?n}, let 𝒮(G) be the set of all real symmetric n-by-n matrices whose graph is G. We present terminology linking established as well as new results related to the minimum rank problem, with spectral properties in graph theory. The minimum rank mr(G) of G is the smallest possible rank over all matrices in 𝒮(G). The rank spread r v (G) of G at a vertex v, defined as mr(G)???mr(G???v), can take values ??∈?{0,?1,?2}. In general, distinct vertices in a graph may assume any of the three values. For ??=?0 or 1, there exist graphs with uniform r v (G) (equal to the same integer at each vertex v). We show that only for ??=?0, will a single matrix A in 𝒮(G) determine when a graph has uniform rank spread. Moreover, a graph G, with vertices of rank spread zero or one only, is a λ-core graph for a λ-optimal matrix A in 𝒮(G). We also develop sufficient conditions for a vertex of rank spread zero or two and a necessary condition for a vertex of rank spread two.  相似文献

Denote by 𝒯n and 𝒮n the full transformation semigroup and the symmetric group on the set {1,…, n}, and ?n = {1} ∪ (𝒯n?𝒮n). Let 𝒯(X, 𝒫) denote the monoid of all transformations of the finite set X preserving a uniform partition 𝒫 of X into m subsets of size n, where m, n ≥ 2. We enumerate the idempotents of 𝒯(X, 𝒫), and describe the submonoid S = ? E ? generated by the idempotents E = E(𝒯(X, 𝒫)). We show that S = S1S2, where S1 is a direct product of m copies of ?n, and S2 is a wreath product of 𝒯n with 𝒯m?𝒮m. We calculate the rank and idempotent rank of S, showing that these are equal, and we also classify and enumerate all the idempotent generating sets of minimal size. In doing so, we also obtain new results about arbitrary idempotent generating sets of ?n.  相似文献

This article presents a technique for combining two matrices, an n?×?n matrix M and an m?×?m matrix B, with known spectra to create an (n?+?m???p)?×?(n?+?m???p) matrix N whose spectrum consists of the spectrum of the matrix M and m???p eigenvalues of the matrix B. Conditions are given when the matrix N obtained in this construction is nonnegative. Finally, these observations are used to obtain several results on how to construct a realizable list of n?+?1 complex numbers (λ123,σ) from a given realizable list of n complex numbers (c 1,c 2,σ), where c 1 is the Perron eigenvalue, c 2 is a real number and σ is a list of n???2 complex numbers.  相似文献

Let S be the multiplicative semigroup of q×q matrices with positive entries such that every row and every column contains a strictly positive element. Denote by (X n ) n≥1 a sequence of independent identically distributed random variables in S and by X (n)=X n ⋅⋅⋅ X 1,  n≥1, the associated left random walk on S. We assume that (X n ) n≥1 satisfies the contraction property
where S° is the subset of all matrices which have strictly positive entries. We state conditions on the distribution of the random matrix X 1 which ensure that the logarithms of the entries, of the norm, and of the spectral radius of the products X (n), n≥1, are in the domain of attraction of a stable law.   相似文献

Suppose F is a field different from F2, the field with two elements. Let Mn(F) and Sn(F) be the space of n × n full matrices and the space of n ×n symmetric matrices over F, respectively. For any G1, G2 ∈ {Sn(F), Mn(F)}, we say that a linear map f from G1 to G2 is inverse-preserving if f(X)^-1 = f(X^-1) for every invertible X ∈ G1. Let L (G1, G2) denote the set of all inverse-preserving linear maps from G1 to G2. In this paper the sets .L(Sn(F),Mn(F)), L(Sn(F),Sn(F)), L (Mn(F),Mn(F)) and L(Mn (F), Sn (F)) are characterized.  相似文献

Let Tn (F) be the algebra of all n×n upper triangular matrices over an arbitrary field F. We first characterize those rank-one nonincreasing mappings ψ: Tn (F)→Tm (F)n?m such that ψ(In ) is of rank n. We next deduce from this result certain types of singular rank-one r-potent preservers and nonzero r-potent preservers on Tn (F). Characterizations of certain classes of homomorphisms and semi-homomorphisms on Tn (F) are also given.  相似文献

In this article, a brief survey of recent results on linear preserver problems and quantum information science is given. In addition, characterization is obtained for linear operators φ on mn?×?mn Hermitian matrices such that φ(A???B) and A???B have the same spectrum for any m?×?m Hermitian A and n?×?n Hermitian B. Such a map has the form A???B???U(?1(A)????2(B))U* for mn?×?mn Hermitian matrices in tensor form A???B, where U is a unitary matrix, and for j?∈?{1,?2}, ? j is the identity map?X???X or the transposition map?X???X t . The structure of linear maps leaving invariant the spectral radius of matrices in tensor form A???B is also obtained. The results are connected to bipartite (quantum) systems and are extended to multipartite systems.  相似文献

Let R = (r1,…, rm) and S = (s1,…, sn) be nonnegative integral vectors, and let U(R, S) denote the class of all m × n matrices of 0's and 1's having row sum vector R and column sum vector S. An invariant position of U(R, S) is a position whose entry is the same for all matrices in U(R, S). The interchange graph G(R, S) is the graph where the vertices are the matrices in U(R, S) and where two matrices are joined by an edge provided they differ by an interchange. We prove that when 1 ≤ rin ? 1 (i = 1,…, m) and 1 ≤ sjm ? 1 (j = 1,…, n), G(R, S) is prime if and only if U(R, S) has no invariant positions.  相似文献

Let I be an ideal of a ring R. We say that R is a generalized I-stable ring provided that aR+bR=R with a?∈?1+I,b?∈?R implies that there exists a y?∈?R such that a+by?∈?K(R), where K(R)={x?∈?R?∣?? s, t?∈?R such that sxt=1}. Let R be a generalized I-stable ring. Then every A?∈?GLn (I) is the product of 13n?12 simple matrices. Furthermore, we prove that A is the product of n simple matrices if I has stable rank one. This generalizes the results of Vaserstein and Wheland on rings having stable rank one.  相似文献
