On Hua-Tuan’s conjecture   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Let G be a finite group and |G| = pn, p be a prime. For 0 m n, sm(G) denotes the number of subgroups of of order pm of G. Loo-Keng Hua and Hsio-Fu Tuan have ever conjectured: for an arbitrary finite p-group G, if p > 2, then sm(G) ≡ 1, 1 + p, 1 + p + p2 or 1 + p + 2p2 (mod p3). In this paper, we investigate the conjecture, and give some p-groups in which the conjecture holds and some examples in which the conjecture does not hold.  相似文献

In [1], we defined c(G), q(G) and p(G). In this paper we will show that if G is a p-group, where p is an odd prime and |G| ≤ p 4, then c(G) = q(G) = p(G). However, the question of whether or not there is a p-group G with strict inequality c(G) = q(G) < p(G) is still open.  相似文献

Let G be an abelian p-group and K be a field of the first kind with respect to p of char K ≠p and of sp(K) = N or NU {0}. Then it is shown that the normed Sylow p-subgroup S(KG) is torsion complete if and only if G is bounded (Theorem 1). An analogous fact is proved for the case when K is of the second kind (Theorem 2). These completely settle a conjecture posed by us in Compt. Rend. Acad. Bulg. Sci. (1993) and are also a supplement to our result in the modular case published in Acta Math. Hungar. (1997).  相似文献

In this paper we find the structure for the automorphism group of a split metacyclic 2-group G. It can be seen as a continuation of the paper (Curran in Arch. Math. 89 (2007), 10–23) and it makes it complete. We propose a different approach to the problem than in the paper (Curran in Arch. Math. 89 (2007), 10–23). Our intention is to show that apart from some cases of 2-groups AutG has a structure similar to that of a direct product of two groups with no common direct factor [which was considered in Bidwell, Curran, and McCaughan (Arch. It is proved that any Σ-group, which is a special elongation of a totally projective abelian p-group by a p ω+1-projective abelian p-group, is totally projective. In particular, each p ω+1-projective abelian Σ-p-group is a direct sum of countable p-groups of lengths not exceeding ω + 1. This strengthens our recent result published in Comment. Math. Univ. We prove the following theorem: Any abelian p-group is an n-Σ-group which is a strong ω-elongation of a totally projective group by a p ω+n -projective group precisely when it is totally projective. In particular, each p-torsion p ω+n -projective n-Σ-group is a direct sum of countable p-groups of length not exceeding ω + n and vice versa. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the refinement equations of the form

In this note we study finite p-groups G = AB admitting a factorization by an Abelian subgroup A and a subgroup B. As a consequence of our results we prove that if B contains an Abelian subgroup of index p n−1 then G has derived length at most 2n.  相似文献

We determine here up to isomorphism the structure of any finite nonabelian 2-group G in which every two distinct maximal abelian subgroups have cyclic intersection. We obtain five infinite classes of such 2-groups (Theorem 1.1). This solves for p = 2 the problem Nr. 521 stated by Berkovich (in preparation). The more general problem Nr. 258 stated by Berkovich (in preparation) about the structure of finite nonabelian p-groups G such that AB = Z(G) for every two distinct maximal abelian subgroups A and B is treated in Theorems 3.1 and 3.2. In Corollary 3.3 we get a new result for an arbitrary finite 2-group. As an application of Theorems 3.1 and 3.2, we solve for p = 2 a problem of Heineken-Mann (Problem Nr. 169 stated in Berkovich, in preparation), classifying finite 2-groups G such that A/Z(G) is cyclic for each maximal abelian subgroup A (Theorem 4.1).   相似文献

The notion of p-adic multiresolution analysis (MRA) is introduced. We discuss a “natural” refinement equation whose solution (a refinable function) is the characteristic function of the unit disc. This equation reflects the fact that the characteristic function of the unit disc is a sum of p characteristic functions of mutually disjoint discs of radius p −1. This refinement equation generates a MRA. The case p=2 is studied in detail. Our MRA is a 2-adic analog of the real Haar MRA. But in contrast to the real setting, the refinable function generating our Haar MRA is 1-periodic, which never holds for real refinable functions. This fact implies that there exist infinity many different 2-adic orthonormal wavelet bases in ℒ2(ℚ2) generated by the same Haar MRA. All of these new bases are described. We also constructed infinity many different multidimensional 2-adic Haar orthonormal wavelet bases for ℒ2(ℚ2 n ) by means of the tensor product of one-dimensional MRAs. We also study connections between wavelet analysis and spectral analysis of pseudo-differential operators. A criterion for multidimensional p-adic wavelets to be eigenfunctions for a pseudo-differential operator (in the Lizorkin space) is derived. We proved also that these wavelets are eigenfunctions of the Taibleson multidimensional fractional operator. These facts create the necessary prerequisites for intensive using our wavelet bases in applications. Our results related to the pseudo-differential operators develop the investigations started in Albeverio et al. (J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 12(4):393–425, 2006).   相似文献

In the present paper, we study the Frattini subalgebra of a restricted Lie superalgebra (L, [p]). We show first that if L = A1 + A2 +… +An, then Фp(L) = Фp(A1) +Фp(A2) +…+Фp(An), where each Ai is a p-ideal of L. We then obtain two results: F(L) = Ф(L) = J(L) = L if and only if L is nilpotent; Fp(L) and F(L) are nilpotent ideals of L if L is solvable. In addition, necessary and sufficient conditions are found for Фp-free restricted Lie superalgebras. Finally, we discuss the relationships of E-p-restricted Lie superalgebras and E-restricted Lie superalgebras.  相似文献

Let G be a graph with vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G) and let g and f be two integervalued functions defined on V(G) such that 2k - 2 ≤g(x)≤f(x) for all x∈V(G). In this paper, the author obtains that the multilinear operators of strongly singular integral operators and their dual operators are bounded from some L^p(R^n) to L^p(R^n) when the m-th order derivatives of A belong to L^p(R^n) for r large enough. By this result, the author gets the estimates for the Sharp maximal functions of the multilinear operators with the m-th order derivatives of A being Lipschitz functions. It follows that the multilinear operators are (L^p, L^p)-type operators for 1 〈 p 〈 ∞.  相似文献

The definition of the group near-ring R[G] of the near-ring R over the group G as a near-ring of mappings from R (G) to itself is due to Le Riche et al. (Arch Math 52:132–139, 1989). In this paper we consider the augmentation ideal Δ of R[G]. If the exponent of G is not 2, then the structure of ΔR (G) is determined in terms of commutators and distributors. This is then used to show that Δ is nilpotent if and only if R is weakly distributive, has characteristic p n for some prime p and G is a finite p-group for the same prime p.   相似文献

In this paper, we establish a Rosenthal-type inequality of the maximum of partial sums for ρ^- -mixing random fields. As its applications we get the Hájeck -Rènyi inequality and weak convergence of sums of ρ^- -mixing sequence. This paper considers the isometric extension problem concerning the mapping from the unit sphere S 1(E) of the normed space E into the unit sphere S 1(l (Γ)). We find a condition under which an isometry from S 1(E) into S 1(l (Γ)) can be linearly and isometrically extended to the whole space. Since l (Γ) is universal with respect to isometry for normed spaces, isometric extension problems on a class of normed spaces are solved. More precisely, if E and F are two normed spaces, and if V 0: S 1(E) → S 1(F) is a surjective isometry, where c 00(Γ) ⊆ Fl (Γ), then V 0 can be extended to be an isometric operator defined on the whole space. Let (G, I, N, S) be an affine topological Tits system, and let Γ be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in G. This article studies the coinvariants H 0(Γ; C(Ω,Z)), where Ω is the Furstenberg boundary of G. It is shown that the class [1] of the identity function in H 0(Γ; C(Ω, Z)) has finite order, with explicit bounds for the order. A similar statement applies to the K 0 group of the boundary crossed product C *-algebra C(Ω)Γ. If the Tits system has type ? 2, exact computations are given, both for the crossed product algebra and for the reduced group C *-algebra.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the following theorem: Let p be a prime number, P a Sylow psubgroup of a group G and π = π(G) / {p}. If P is seminormal in G, then the following statements hold: 1) G is a p-soluble group and P' ≤ Op(G); 2) lp(G) ≤ 2 and lπ(G) ≤ 2; 3) if a π-Hall subgroup of G is q-supersoluble for some q ∈ π, then G is q-supersoluble.  相似文献
