The non-linear oscillations of an autonomous two-degree-of-freedom Hamiltonian system in the neighbourhood of its stable equilibrium position are considered. It is assumed that the Hamilton function is sign-definite in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium position and that the values of the frequencies of its linear oscillations are equal or close to one another (1:1 resonance). The investigation is carried out using the example of the problem of the motion of a dynamically symmetrical rigid body (satellite) about its centre of mass in a circular orbit in a central Newtonian gravitational field. In this problem there is relative equilibrium of the rigid body in the orbital system of coordinates, for which its axis of dynamic symmetry is directed along the velocity vector of the centre of mass. Resonance occurs when the ratio of the polar and equatorial principal central moments of inertia is equal to 4/3 or is close to it. The problem of the existence, bifurcation and orbital stability of the periodic motions of a rigid body generated from its relative equilibrium is solved. Some aspects of the existence of quasiperiodic motions are also considered.  相似文献

We deal with the problem of orbital stability of planar periodic motions of a dynamically symmetric heavy rigid body with a fixed point. We suppose that the center of mass of the body lies in the equatorial plane of the ellipsoid of inertia. Unperturbed periodic motions are planar pendulum-like oscillations or rotations of the body around a principal axis keeping a fixed horizontal position. Local coordinates are introduced in a neighborhood of the unperturbed periodic motion and equations of the perturbed motion are obtained in Hamiltonian form. Regions of orbital instability are established by means of linear analysis. Outside the above-mentioned regions, nonlinear analysis is performed taking into account terms up to degree 4 in the expansion of the Hamiltonian in a neighborhood of unperturbed motion. The nonlinear problem of orbital stability is reduced to analysis of stability of a fixed point of the symplectic map generated by the equations of the perturbed motion. The coefficients of the symplectic map are determined numerically. Rigorous results on the orbital stability or instability of unperturbed motion are obtained by analyzing these coefficients. The orbital stability is investigated analytically in two limiting cases: small amplitude oscillations and rotations with large angular velocities when a small parameter can be introduced.  相似文献

We deal with the problem of orbital stability of pendulum-like periodic motions of a heavy rigid body with a fixed point. We suppose that a mass geometry corresponds to the Bobylev-Steklov case. The stability problem is solved in nonlinear setting. In the case of small amplitude oscillations and rotations with large angular velocities the small parameter can be introduced and the problem can be investigated analytically. In the case of unspecified oscillation amplitude or rotational angular velocity the problem is reduced to analysis of stability of a fixed point of the symplectic map generated by the equations of the perturbed motion. The coefficients of the symplectic map are determined numerically. Rigorous results on the orbital stability or instability of unperturbed motion are obtained by analyzing these coefficients.  相似文献

A rigorous non-linear analysis of the orbital stability of plane periodic motions (pendulum oscillations and rotations) of a dynamically symmetrical heavy rigid body with one fixed point is carried out. It is assumed that the principal moments of inertia of the rigid body, calculated for the fixed point, are related by the same equation as in the Kovalevskaya case, but here no limitations are imposed on the position of the mass centre of the body. In the case of oscillations of small amplitude and in the case of rotations with high angular velocities, when it is possible to introduce a small parameter, the orbital stability is investigated analytically. For arbitrary values of the parameters, the non-linear problem of orbital stability is reduced to an analysis of the stability of a fixed point of the simplectic mapping, generated by the system of equations of perturbed motion. The simplectic mapping coefficients are calculated numerically, and from their values, using well-known criteria, conclusions are drawn regarding the orbital stability or instability of the periodic motion. It is shown that, when the mass centre lies on the axis of dynamic symmetry (the case of Lagrange integrability), the well-known stability criteria are inapplicable. In this case, the orbital instability of the periodic motions is proved using Chetayev's theorem. The results of the analysis are presented in the form of stability diagrams in the parameter plane of the problem.  相似文献

The motions of an autonomous Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom close to an equilibrium position, stable in the linear approximation, are considered. It is assumed that in this neighbourhood the quadratic part of the Hamiltonian of the system is sign-variable, and the ratio of the frequencies of the linear oscillations are close to or equal to two. It is also assumed that the corresponding resonance terms in the third-degree terms of the Hamiltonian are small. The problem of the existence, bifurcations and orbital stability of the periodic motions of the system near the equilibrium position is solved. Conditionally periodic motions of the system are investigated. An estimate is obtained of the region in which the motions of the system are bounded in the neighbourhood of an unstable equilibrium in the case of exact resonance. The motions of a heavy dynamically symmetrical rigid body with a fixed point in the neighbourhood of its permanent rotations around the vertical for 2:1 resonance are considered as an application.  相似文献

The motion of a satellite about its centre of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field is investigated. The satellite is considered to be a dynamically symmetrical rigid body. It is assumed that the ratio of the polar and equatorial principal central moments of inertia of the satellite is 4/3, or close to this. The orbit of the centre of mass is elliptic, and the orbit eccentricity is assumed to be small. In the limit case, when the orbit of the centre of mass is circular, a steady motion exists (corresponding to relative equilibrium of the satellite in the orbital system of coordinates) in which the axis of dynamic symmetry is directed along the velocity vector of the centre of mass of the satellite; here, the frequencies of the small linear oscillations of the axis of symmetry are equal or close to one another. But in an elliptic orbit of small eccentricity, multiple 1:1:1 resonance occurs in this case, as the oscillation frequencies mentioned are equal or close to the frequency of motion of the centre of mass of the satellite in orbit. The non-linear problem of the existence, bifurcations and stability of periodic motions of the satellite with a period equal to the rotation period of its centre of mass in orbit is investigated.  相似文献

The motion of a satellite, i.e., a rigid body, about to the centre of mass under the action of the gravitational moments of a central Newtonian gravitational field in an elliptical orbit of arbitrary eccentricity is investigated. It is assumed that the satellite is almost dynamically symmetrical. Plane periodic motions for which the ratio of the average value of the absolute angular velocity of the satellite to the average motion of its centre of mass is equal to 3/2 (Mercury-type resonance) are examined. An analytic solution of the non-linear problem of the existence of such motions and their stability to plane perturbations is given. In the special case in which the central ellipsoid of inertia of the satellite is almost spherical, the stability to spatial perturbations is also examined, but only in a linear approximation. ©2008.  相似文献

In contrast to the classical problem of motion of a heavy rigid body about a fixed point where the permanent rotations are well known and completely investigated [7, 3] as the most simple and good visually demonstrated type of motions, in multibody mechanics under an increasing of quantity of the system bodies, mechanical parameters and the order of differential motion equations the study of such motions is more complicated problem. The problem on permanent rotations of two connected rigid bodies under influence of gravity force was investigated in [2, 4]. In this paper a system consisting of arbitrary constant quantity, n, of heavy rigid bodies which are sequentially jointed in a chain is considered. The conditions of existence of motions when each body permanently rotates about the vertical vector are determined. These conditions are analyzed in a general case when the bodies angular velocities are different.  相似文献

This paper proves the existence of six new classes of periodic solutions to the N-body problem by small parameter methods. Three different methods of introducing a small parameter are considered and an appropriate method of scaling the Hamiltonian is given for each method. The small parameter is either one of the masses, the distance between a pair of particles or the reciprocal of the distances between one particle and the center of mass of the remaining particles. For each case symmetric and non-symmetric periodic solutions are established. For every relative equilibrium solution of the (N ? 1)-body problem each of the six results gives periodic solutions of the N-body problem. Under additional mild non-resonance conditions the results are roughly as follows. Any non-degenerate periodic solutions of the restricted N-body problem can be continued into the full N-body problem. There exist periodic solutions of the N-body problem, where N ? 2 particles and the center of mass of the remaining pair move approximately on a solution of relative equilibrium and the pair move approximately on a small circular orbit of the two-body problems around their center of mass. There exist periodic solutions of the N-body problem, where one small particle and the center of mass of the remaining N ? 1 particles move approximately on a large circular orbit of the two body problems and the remaining N ? 1 bodies move approximately on a solution of relative equilibrium about their center of mass. There are three similar results on the existence of symmetric periodic solutions.  相似文献

The problem of the orbital stability of periodic motions, produced from an equilibrium position of an autonomous Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom is considered. The Hamiltonian function is assumed to be analytic and alternating in a certain neighbourhood of the equilibrium position, the eigenvalues of the matrix of the linearized system are pure imaginary, and the frequencies of the linear oscillations satisfy a 3:1 ratio. The problem of the orbital stability of periodic motions is solved in a rigorous non-linear formulation. It is shown that short-period motions are orbitally stable with the sole exception of the case corresponding to bifurcation of short-period and long-period motions. In this particular case there is an unstable short-period orbit. It is established that, if the equilibrium position is stable, then, depending on the values of the system parameters, there is only one family of orbitally stable long-period motions, or two families of orbitally stable and one family of unstable long-period motions. If the equilibrium position is unstable, there is only one family of unstable long-period motions or one family of orbitally stable and two families of unstable long-period motions. Special cases, corresponding to bifurcation of long-period motions or degeneration in the problem of stability, when an additional analysis is necessary, may be exceptions. The problem of the orbital stability of the periodic motions of a dynamically symmetrical satellite close to its steady rotation is considered as an application.  相似文献

We study relative periodic orbits (i.e. time-periodic orbits in a frame rotating at constant velocity) in a class of triatomic Euclidean-invariant (planar) Hamiltonian systems. The system consists of two identical heavy atoms and a light one, and the atomic mass ratio is treated as a continuation parameter. Under some nondegeneracy conditions, we show that a given family of relative periodic orbits existing at infinite mass ratio (and parametrized by phase, rotational degree of freedom and period) persists for sufficiently large mass ratio and for nearby angular velocities (this result is valid for small angular velocities). The proof is based on a method initially introduced by Sepulchre and MacKay [J.-A. Sepulchre, R.S. MacKay, Localized oscillations in conservative or dissipative networks of weakly coupled autonomous oscillators, Nonlinearity 10 (1997) 679–713] and further developed by Muñoz-Almaraz et al. [F.J. Muñoz-Almaraz, et al., Continuation of periodic orbits in conservative and Hamiltonian systems, Physica D 181 (2003) 1–38] for the continuation of normal periodic orbits in Hamiltonian systems. Our results provide several types of relative periodic orbits, which extend from small amplitude relative normal modes [J.-P. Ortega, Relative normal modes for nonlinear Hamiltonian systems, Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. A 133 (2003) 665–704] up to large amplitude solutions which are not restrained to a small neighborhood of a stable relative equilibrium. In particular, we show the existence of large amplitude motions of inversion, where the light atom periodically crosses the segment between heavy atoms. This analysis is completed by numerical results on the stability and bifurcations of some inversion orbits as their angular velocity is varied.  相似文献

Optimal controls are constructed for two types of mobile systems propelling themselves due to relative oscillatory motions of their parts. The system of the first type is modelled by a rigid body (main body) to which two links are attached by revolute joints. All three bodies interact with the environment with the forces depending on the velocity of motion of these bodies relative to the environment. The system is controlled by high-frequency periodic angular oscillations of the links relative to the main body. The system of the other type consists of two bodies, one of which (the main body) interacts with the environment and with the other body (internal body), which interacts with the main body but does not interact with the environment. The system is controlled by periodic oscillations of the internal body relative to the main body. For both systems, the motions with the main body moving along a horizontal straight line are considered. Optimal control laws that maximize the average velocity of the main body are found.  相似文献

The rectilinear motion of a two-mass system in a resistive medium is considered. The motion of the system as a whole occurs by longitudinal periodic motion of one body (the internal mass) relative to the other body (the shell). The problem consists of finding the periodic law of motion of the internal mass that ensures velocity-periodic motion of the shell at a specified average velocity and minimum energy consumption. The initial problem reduces to a variational problem with isoperimetric conditions in which the required function is the velocity of the shell. It is established that, with optimal motion, the shell velocity is a piecewise-constant time function taking two values (a positive value and a negative value). The magnitudes of these velocities and the overall size of the intervals in which they are taken are uniquely defined, while the optimal motion itself is non-uniquely defined. The simplest optimal motion, for which the period is divided into two sections – one with a positive velocity and the other with a negative velocity of motion of the shell – is investigated in detail. It is shown that, among all the optimal motions, this simplest motion is characterized by the maximum amplitude of oscillations of the internal mass relative to the shell. © Elsevier Ltd. The motion of a rigid body in a uniform gravity field is investigated. One of the points of the body (the suspension point) performs specified small-amplitude high-frequency periodic or conditionally periodic oscillations (vibrations). The geometry of the body mass is arbitrary. An approximate system of differential equations is obtained, which does not contain the time explicitly and describes the rotational motion of the rigid body with respect to a system of coordinates moving translationally together with the suspension point. The error with which the solutions of the approximate system approximate to the solution of the exact system of equations of motion is indicated. The problem of the stability with respect to the equilibrium of the rigid body, when the suspension point performs vibrations along the vertical, is considered as an application.  相似文献

The motion of a system (a rigid body, symmetrical about three mutually perpendicular planes, plus a point mass situated inside the body) in an unbounded volume of a perfect fluid, which executes vortex-free motion and is at rest at infinity, is considered. The motion of the body occurs due to displacement of the point mass with respect to the body. Two cases are investigated: (a) there are no external forces, and (b) the system moves in a uniform gravity field. An analytical investigation of the dynamic equations under conditions when the point performs a specified plane periodic motion inside the body showed that in case (a) the system can be displaced as far as desired from the initial position. In case (b) it is proved that, due to the permanent addition of energy of the corresponding relative motion of the point, the body may float upwards. On the other hand, if the velocity of relative motion of the point is limited, the body will sink. The results of numerical calculations, when the point mass performs random walks along the sides of a plane square grid rigidly connected with the body, are presented.  相似文献

We consider the vibrations of an oblate ellipsoidal shell with a central rigid insertion rotating with a constant angular velocity about a vertical symmetry axis. The spin axis rotates uniformly. We construct partial differential equations describing the periodic elastic motion of the shell due to the translational, relative, and coriolis inertial forces. The dynamics of a compound system, consisting of a rigid body and a point mass, which moves in a specified way along a curve, rigidly attached to the body is investigated. The system performs free motion in a uniform gravity field. Differential equations are derived which describe the rotation of the body about its centre of mass. In two special cases, which allow of the introduction of a small parameter, an approximate system of equations of motion is obtained using asymptotic methods. The accuracy with which the solutions of the approximate system approach the solutions of the exact equations of motion is indicated. In one case, it is assumed that the point mass has a mass that is small compared with the mass of the body, and performs rapid motion with respect to the rigid body. It is shown that in this case the approximate system is integrable. A number of special motions of the body, described by the approximate system, are indicated, and their stability is investigated. In the second case, no limitations are imposed on the mass of the point mass, but it is assumed that the relative motion of the point is rapid and occurs near a specified point of the body. It is shown that, in the approximate system, the motion of the rigid body about its centre of mass is Euler–Poinsot motion.  相似文献

A material system consisting of an outer rigid body (a shell) and an inner body (a material point) is considered. The system moves in a uniform field of gravity over a fixed absolutely smooth horizontal plane. The central ellipsoid of inertia of the shell is an ellipsoid of rotation. The material point moves according to the harmonic law along a straight-line segment rigidly attached to the shell and lying on its axis of dynamical symmetry. During its motion, the shell may collide with the plane. The coefficient of restitution for an impact is supposed to be arbitrary. The periodic motion of the shell is found when its symmetry axis is situated along a fixed vertical, and the shell rotates around this vertical with an arbitrary constant angular velocity. The conditions for existence of this periodic motion are obtained, and its linear stability is studied.  相似文献

The controlled horizontal motion of a body in the presence of dry friction forces is investigated. Control is accomplished by means of a movable mass that can move within the body in a bounded range. Some simple modes of periodic relative motions of the movable mass, under which the entire system moves as a whole, are investigated. Constraints are imposed on the relative displacement, velocity and acceleration of the movable mass. The optimum parameters of this relative motion, under which the maximum mean velocity of the body is reached, are determined.  相似文献
