In this paper, we give a rigorous mathematical and complete parameter analysis for the rheodynamic model of cardiac and obtain the conditions and parameter region for global existence and uniqueness of limit cycle and the global bifurcation diagram of limit cycles. The global stability of a multi-species interacting system has apparently important biological implications. In this paper we study the global stability of Gause-type predator-prey models by providing new criteria for the nonexistence of cycles and limit cycles. Our criteria have clear geometrical interpretations and are easier to apply than other methods employed in recent studies. Using these criteria and related techniques we are able to develop new results on the existence and uniqueness of cycles in Gause-type models with various growth and response functions.

In this paper, we investigate a class of impulsive Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with distributed delays and reaction–diffusion terms. By establishing an integro-differential inequality with impulsive initial conditions and applying M-matrix theory, we find some sufficient conditions ensuring the existence, uniqueness, global exponential stability and global robust exponential stability of equilibrium point for impulsive Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with distributed delays and reaction–diffusion terms. An example is given to illustrate the results obtained here.  相似文献

We investigate the existence and number of limit cycles in a class of general planar piecewise linear systems constituted by two linear subsystems with node–node dynamics. Using the Liénard-like canonical form with seven parameters, some sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of limit cycles are given by studying the fixed points of proper Poincaré maps. In particular, we prove the existence of at least two nested limit cycles and describe some parameter regions where two limit cycles exist. The main results are applied to the PWL Morris–Lecar neural model to determine the existence and stability of the limit cycles.  相似文献

The Vlasov–Nordström–Fokker–Planck system describes the evolution of self-gravitating matter experiencing collisions with a fixed background of particles in the framework of a relativistic scalar theory of gravitation. We study the spatially-homogeneous system and prove global existence and uniqueness of solutions for the corresponding initial value problem in three momentum dimensions. Additionally, we study the long time asymptotic behavior of the system and prove that even in the absence of friction, solutions possess a non-trivial asymptotic profile. An exact formula for the long time limit of the particle density is derived in the ultra-relativistic case.  相似文献

The Vlasov–Maxwell–Boltzmann system is a system that describes the dynamics of charged particles when there is electromagnetic field. There have been extensive studies on the energy estimates and global existence of solutions to the one- and two-species Vlasov–Maxwell–Boltzmann system when the background density is constant. In this work, we first deal with the energy estimates of the one-species Vlasov–Maxwell–Boltzmann system when the background density is a small perturbation from the stationary state. Then, we handle the dissipation rate for the linearized one-species Vlasov–Maxwell–Boltzmann system with the background density having a small perturbation around the stationary state.  相似文献

In this paper, the global qualitative analysis of planar quadratic dynamical systems is established and a new geometric approach to solving Hilbert’s Sixteenth Problem in this special case of polynomial systems is suggested. Using geometric properties of four field rotation parameters of a new canonical system which is constructed in this paper, we present a proof of our earlier conjecture that the maximum number of limit cycles in a quadratic system is equal to four and their only possible distribution is (3:1) [V.A. Gaiko, Global Bifurcation Theory and Hilbert’s Sixteenth Problem, Kluwer, Boston, 2003]. Besides, applying the Wintner–Perko termination principle for multiple limit cycles to our canonical system, we prove in a different way that a quadratic system has at most three limit cycles around a singular point (focus) and give another proof of the same conjecture.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the limit cycles of planar piecewise linear differential systems with two zones separated by a straight line. It is well known that when these systems are continuous they can exhibit at most one limit cycle, while when they are discontinuous the question about maximum number of limit cycles that they can exhibit is still open. For these last systems there are examples exhibiting three limit cycles.The aim of this paper is to study the number of limit cycles for a special kind of planar discontinuous piecewise linear differential systems with two zones separated by a straight line which are known as refracting systems. First we obtain the existence and uniqueness of limit cycles for refracting systems of focus-node type. Second we prove that refracting systems of focus–focus type have at most one limit cycle, thus we give a positive answer to a conjecture on the uniqueness of limit cycle stated by Freire, Ponce and Torres in Freire et al. (2013). These two results complete the proof that any refracting system has at most one limit cycle.  相似文献

In this paper, a quadratic system with two parallel straight-line-isoclines is considered. This system corresponds to the system of class II in the classification of Ye Yanqian [Ye Yanqian et al., Theory of Limit Cycles, Transl. Math. Monogr., vol. 66, American Mathematical Society, Providence, RI, 1986]. Using the field rotation parameters of the constructed canonical system and geometric properties of the spirals filling the interior and exterior domains of its limit cycles, we prove that the maximum number of limit cycles in a quadratic system with two parallel straight-line-isoclines and two finite singular points is equal to two. Besides, we obtain the same result in a different way: applying the Wintner–Perko termination principle for multiple limit cycles and using the methods of global bifurcation theory developed in [V.A. In the qualitative theory of differential equations in the plane one of the most difficult objects to study is the existence of limit cycles. There are many papers dedicated to this subject. Here we will present a survey mainly dedicated to the algebraic and explicit non-algebraic limit cycles of the polynomial differential systems in R2 and of the discontinuous piecewise differential systems in R2 formed by two linear differential systems separated by a straight line. For this class of discontinuous piecewise differential systems the study of their algebraic and explicit non-algebraic limit cycles just is starting. Here we provide the first explicit non-algebraic limit cycle for the discontinuous piecewise linear differential systems. Additionally we recall seven open questions related with these types of limit cycles.  相似文献

We study the interaction of initial layer and boundary layer in the nonlinear Darcy–Brinkman system in the vanishing Darcy number limit. In particular, we show the existence of a function of corner layer type (so-called initial–boundary layer) in the solution of the nonlinear Darcy–Brinkman system. An approximate solution is constructed by the method of multiple scale expansion in space and in time. We establish the optimal convergence rates in various Sobolev norms via energy method.  相似文献

We present a global existence theory for strong solution to the Cucker–Smale–Navier–Stokes system in a periodic domain, when initial data is sufficiently small. To model interactions between flocking particles and an incompressible viscous fluid, we couple the kinetic Cucker–Smale model and the incompressible Navier–Stokes system using a drag force mechanism that is responsible for the global flocking between particles and fluids. We also revisit the emergence of time-asymptotic flocking via new functionals measuring local variances of particles and fluid around their local averages and the distance between local averages velocities. We show that the particle and fluid velocities are asymptotically aligned to the common velocity, when the viscosity of the incompressible fluid is sufficiently large compared to the sup-norm of the particles' local mass density.  相似文献

In this paper, by using qualitative analysis, we investigate the number of limit cycles of perturbed cubic Hamiltonian system with perturbation in the form of (2n+2m) or (2n+2m+1)th degree polynomials . We show that the perturbed systems has at most (n+m) limit cycles, and has at most n limit cycles if m=1. If m=1, n=1 and m=1, n=2, the general conditions for the number of existing limit cycles and the stability of the limit cycles will be established, respectively. Such conditions depend on the coefficients of the perturbed terms. In order to illustrate our results, two numerical examples on the location and stability of the limit cycles are given.  相似文献
