Moyal noncommutative star-product deformations of higher-dimensional gravitational Einstein-Hilbert actions via lower-dimensional SU(), W gauge theories are constructed explicitly based on the holographic reduction principle. New reparametrization invariant p-brane actions and their Moyal star product deformations follows. It is conjectured that topological Chern-Simons brane actions associated with higher-dimensional knots have a one-to-one correspondence with topological Chern-Simons Matrix models in the large N limit. The corresponding large N limit of Topological BF Matrix models leads to Kalb-Ramond couplings of antisymmetric-tensor fields to p-branes. The former Chern-Simons branes display higher-spin W symmetries which are very relevant in the study of W Gravity, the Quantum Hall effect and its higher-dimensional generalizations. We conclude by arguing why this interplay between condensed matter models, higher-dimensional extensions of the Quantum Hall effect, Chern-Simons Matrix models and Gravity needs to be investigated further within the framework of W Gauge theories.  相似文献

The spherical-model limitn of then-vector model in a random field, with either a statistically independent distribution or with long-range correlated random fields, is studied to demonstrate the correctness of the replica method in which then and replica limits limits are interchanged, provided the replica and thermodynamic limits are taken in the right order, in the case of long-range correlated random fields. A scaling form for the two-point correlation function relevant to the first-order phase transition below the lower critical dimensionality of the random system is also obtained.  相似文献

A method is suggested for the derivation of finite-size corrections in the thermodynamic functions of systems with pair interaction potential decaying at large distancesr asr d , whered is the space dimensionality and>0. It allows for a unified treatment of short-range (=2) and long-range (<2) interaction. The asymptotic analysis is illustrated by the mean spherical model of general geometryL d–d× d subject to periodic boundary conditions. The Fisher-Privman equation of state is generalized to arbitrary real values ofd, 0d. The symmetric spin-boson model without external field is treated for any type of coupling to the boson bath and any initial bath density matrix. With initially fully aligned spin (z (0)= =1), the proof is given that a partial relaxation (z (+) t1<) implies that there is no asymptotic-time (up-and-down) symmetry breaking (i.e. that z (+)=0). For the problem of a particle (interacting with free bosons) in a symmetric double well without spatial symmetry breaking before the infinite time limit, this means that att + the particle distribution becomes symmetric (irrespective of the full initial asymmetry) unless the particle fully remains (att + ) in Ihe starting well.  相似文献

From a finite size analysis we extract the structure factorS(p, N=) of the one dimensional AFH-model in the groundstate: The gross structure is well described byL (p) = –ln(1– p ). The fine structure which only contributes a few percent reveals a pronounced non-linear behavior inL(p) with a maximum atp=0.20 and a minimum atp=0.82.  相似文献

We consider the equilibrium thermodynamics of a Dicke-type model forN identical spins of arbitrary magnitude interacting linearly and homogeneously with a boson field in a volumeV N, in the limitN,V N, withN/V N=const. The system exhibits a second-order phase transition; complete information on the spin polarizations and their correlations is obtained. The proofs use a general result on the free energy of quantum spin systems based on the large deviation principle and the Berezin-Lieb inequalities.  相似文献

We develop a concise method to compute the corrections to the master equation for chemically reacting systems in particle number space that arise if the system is not a well-stirred tank reactor, but the transport occurs by diffusion. Starting from the master equation in theR N space of all reactant particle positions, we expand in inverse powers of the diffusion constant and eliminate all transport modes adiabatically. It is found that the overall effect of spatially nonuniform fluctuations cannot be treated as a mere renormalization of the reaction rate constants. From second order on there appear correction terms with a new structure that corresponds formally to additional virtual reaction paths. An intuitive interpretation along this line is impeded, however, by the formal occurrence of negative reaction rate constants in these terms, i.e., the reaction rate may depend on the concentrations of the final products of the virtual reaction rather than on the ingoing products. We also identify Avogadro's constant as the suitable parameter and extend van Kampen's-expansion systematically, to spatially continuous systems. This secondary expansion then serves to interpret the corrections to the rate equation, and the average and autocorrelation of the density in the stationary state. It is seen that the limitsD and do not commute. The relevant length and time scales are discussed.  相似文献

We consider the coagulation-fragmentation model of Slemrod and coworkers which is essentially the two-dimensional Broadwell model including inelastic collisions. We construct two classes of similarity solutions (variable =x -t), positive for (- , ): the Rankine-Hugoniot solutions and the scalar Riccati similarity solutions. Previous solutions were built up with positivity along half of thex-axis. For the two classes, we determine in the parameter space, building up the solutions, domains corresponding to positive solutions.  相似文献

For the zero-temperature Glauber dynamics of theq-state Potts model, the fractionr(q, t) of spins which never flip up to timet decays like a power lawr(q, t)t –(q) when the initial condition is random. By mapping the problem onto an exactly soluble one-species coagulation model (A+AA) or alternatively by transforming the problem into a free-fermion model, we obtain the exact expression of (q) for all values ofq. A cubic field, coupling tos|s|2, inn-component spin models induces a bicritical crossover fromn-isotropic to Ising like (m=1) critical behaviour for 1<n<, but to classical behaviour in the limitn. By following the analysis of Nelson and Domany, the bicritical scaling function for the free energy ind dimensions is obtained correct to order =4–d and for general (m,n). The mechanism responsible for the breakdown of hyperscaling in the classical behaviour is discussed.  相似文献

On the planar hexagonal lattice , we analyze the Markov process whose state (t), in , updates each site v asynchronously in continuous time t0, so that v (t) agrees with a majority of its (three) neighbors. The initial v (0)'s are i.i.d. with P[ v (0)=+1]=p[0,1]. We study, both rigorously and by Monte Carlo simulation, the existence and nature of the percolation transition as t and p1/2. Denoting by +(t,p) the expected size of the plus cluster containing the origin, we (1) prove that +(,1/2)= and (2) study numerically critical exponents associated with the divergence of +(,p) as p1/2. A detailed finite-size scaling analysis suggests that the exponents and of this t= (dependent) percolation model have the same values, 4/3 and 43/18, as standard two-dimensional independent percolation. We also present numerical evidence that the rate at which (t)() as t is exponential.  相似文献

We study the holomorphic structure of certain complex manifolds associated withW algebras, namely, the flag manifoldsW /T andW 1+/T 1+, and the spacesW /SL(),R) andW 1+/GL(,R), whereT andT 1+ are the maximal tori inW andW 1+. We compute their Ricci curvature and show how the results are related to the anomaly-freedom conditions forW andW 1+. The plasma frequency of a complete degenerate electron gas in the layered model of Visscher and Falicov is calculated by means of both the Bohm-Pines canonical transformation method and the equation-of-motion method in the RPA. The dispersion equation for plasmons is obtained in a finite system ofn planes with both the cyclic condition and free ends. It is shown that the thermodynamic limit (n) of the plasma frequency is independent of the boundary conditions. The previous results obtained by various authors in different ways are shown to be certain limits of our result.  相似文献

We analyze various processes where particles are added irreversibly and sequentially at the sites of infinite ladders or broader strips (i.e., on terraces) of adsorption sites. For sufficiently narrow strips or ladders, exact solution in closed form is possible for a variety of processes. Often this is most naturally achieved by mapping the process onto an equivalent one-dimensional process typically involvingcompetitive adsorption. We demonstrate this procedure for sequential adsorption with nearest-neighbor exclusion on a 2× square ladder. For other select processes on strips slightly too broad for exact solution, almost exact analysis is possible exploiting an empty-site shielding property. In this way, we determine a jamming coverage of 0.91556671 for random sequential adsorption of dimers on a 2× square ladder. For broader strips, we note that the complexity of these problems quickly approaches that for × lattices.  相似文献
