We consider a bistable Fokker-Planck system with a known stationary distribution and a small nonpotential part in the drift force. We perform a perturbation calculation of its Kramers time, K, and compare it with the corresponding time, K (0) , for the potential system which has the same stationary distribution. We show that K/ K (0) depends only on the properties of the drift force close to the saddle-point.The authors would like to dedicate this work to their colleagues Y. Orlov, R. Nazarian, and V. As a contribution to the basic problem of correlation spectroscopy, a method has been developed for the Laplace transform inversion with a given number of maxima in the nonnegative inverted function() (i.e. in the distribution function of decay times recalculated as a density function on a logarithmic scale) by the least squares method. The resulting solution consists of the given number of-functions, each of which may be accompanied on one or both sides by one or several histogram bins decreasing away from the-function. When applied to simulated data for quasielastic light scattering (QELS), the method yields good agreement of the calculated distributions with the simulated ones, except that it yields sharp edges to the histogram bins and artefact-functions at the maxima of all the bands. An example shows the method to be a useful tool in interpreting QELS data.  相似文献

The equations for the reflection and transmission functions of polarized resonant radiation are solved for the case of a layer of small optical thickness in the presence of a magnetic field H. Results of numerical calculations are presented. It is found that even at small the rotation of the polarization plane exceeds 45, as shown by the appearance of a negative value of the Stokes parameter Q as H rises. Finally, the passage of radiation through an optically thick layer is considered, and it is established that with an increase in the width of the depolarization contour decreases indefinitely.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 12, pp. 30–35, December, 1976.The author thanks V. Improvements in determining muon lifetimes that are possible with the pulsed muon beam at the ISIS accelerator complex near Oxford, UK, are examined. The requirements of the standard model do not require an improvement in (µ+)[Gµ], which is fortunate as the low repetition rate of ISIS make such difficult. However, for stopping µ± in liquid hydrogen the differences [(µ+) –(µ, observing decay e)] and [(µ, e) – (µ, observing capture n)] can be well improved to give the induced pseudo-scalar coupling constant,g P, to ±2% and hence the first test of the chiral structure of the nucleon.On leave from Department of Physics, William & Mary, VA, USA.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to a study of cyclotron instability ( e) of two opposite beams of electrons from the aspect of the quasilinear effects. For this case of instability the authors evolve the diffusion equation in the velocity space for an averaged distribution function. They estimate the relaxation times , z of the spreading of the distribution function in the velocity space. At the end of the paper, they compare their results with an experiment described by M. Seidl and P. unka [Phys. Letters11 (1964), 31].  相似文献

Excited states in the doubly-odd nucleus82Rb have been investigated via the reactions79Br(,n) and78Se(7Li,3n) using in-beam-ray spectroscopy. The level energy of the longlived 5 isomer has been determined to 68.3 keV which is below the energy of the 2 state found at 88.9 keV with a lifetime of=2.4(2) ns. A sequence of positive-parity states beginning with a 6+ level at 191.3 keV (=20(3) ns) and extending to a (10+) level has been interpreted to contain the two-particle configuration (g 9/2 9/2) and collective excitations.  相似文献

EC and decays of 235Am have been studied using a gas-jet coupled on-line isotope separator. Excited states in 235Pu have been established for the first time by means of -ray spectroscopy following the EC decay of 235Am. The deduced log ft value suggests that the ground state of 235Am should have the 5/2-[523] configuration. The - coincidence result has revealed that the 5/2-[523] state in 231Np populated by the favored transition of 235Am is located at < 15 keV, which allows us to precisely determine the Q value of 235Am.  相似文献

In this paper we concern ourselves with the small asymptotics of the inner products of the eigenfunctions of a Schrödinger-type operator with a coherent state. More precisely, let j and E j denote the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of a Schrödinger-type operator H with discrete spectrum. Let (x,) be a coherent state centered at the point (x, ) in phase space. We estimate as 0 the averages of the squares of the inner products ( a (x,) , j ) over an energy interval of size around a fixed energy, E. This follows from asymptotic expansions of the form for certain test function and Schwartz amplitudes a of the coherent state. We compute the leading coefficient in the expansion, which depends on whether the classical trajectory through (x, ) is periodic or not. In the periodic case the iterates of the trajectory contribute to the leading coefficient. The stability of the three-dimensional multiple-charged soliton solutions to the nonlinear field equations is studied by Lyapunov's method. It is proved that an absolutely stable soliton solution can not exist in any field model. By imposing the subsidiary condition pQi=0 (fixation of charges) we find a sufficient condition for stability of the stationary soliton which includes the inequality k i (Q i / k <0. The stability conditions for an electric current flowing through a chain consisting of nonlinear inertial resistors and capacitors have been investigated. The necessary conditions for the field dependent conductivity and the inertia of the resistors and applied voltage leading to undamped oscillations in the chain have been derived. For the threshold voltage this condition has the form 0+V 0(/V) v0 cos I T =0, similar to that obtained in an earlier work of one of the authors from thermodynamical considerations.Computer simulation gives results for the frequency and threshold conditions in good agreement with approximate analytical solutions.  相似文献

The magnetic moments of the proton drip-line nuclei13O(I = 3/2,T 1/2 = 8.6 ms) and 9C(I = 3/2,T 1/2 = 126 ms) have been determined for the first time through the combined techniques of polarized radioactive nuclear beams and-NMR detection. The observed magnetic moments are ¦(13O)¦ = 1.3891 ±0.0003 N and ¦(9C)¦ = 1.3914 ±0.0005 N. Spin expectation values are deduced to be 0.76 and 1.44 for13O and9C, respectively. While the of13O is consistent with the systematics from isospinT= 1/2 mirror pairs, the of9C is unusually large, even far larger than the single particle value, = 1.  相似文献

The class of quantum languages Q() over an alphabet is the class of languages accepted by quantum automata. We study properties of Q() and compare Q() with the class of regular languages R(). It is shown that Q() is closed under union, intersection, and reversal but is not closed under complementation, concatenation, or Kleene star. It is also shown that Q() and R() are incomparable. Finally, we prove that L Q() if and only if L admits a transition amplitude function satisfying a certain property and a similar characterization is given for R().  相似文献

We consider a Lorentz gas on a square lattice with a fraction c of scattering sites. The collision laws are deterministic (fixed mirror model) or stochastic (with transmission, reflection, and deflection probabilities ,, and respectively). If all mirrors are parallel, the mirror model is exactly solvable. For the general case a self-consistent ring kinetic equation is used to calculate the longtime tails of the velocity correlation function (0) (t) and the tensor correlation Q(0)Q(t) withQ= x y . Both functions showt –2 tails, as opposed to the continuous Lorentz gas, where the tails are respectivelyt –2 andt –3. Inclusion of the self-consistent ring collisions increases the low-density coefficient of the tail in (0)(t) by 30–100% as compared to the simple ring collisions, depending on the model parameters.  相似文献

In this paper, we paraquantize the spinning string theory in the Neveu-Shwarz model. Unlike the Ardalan and Mansouri work [Phys. Rev. D, Vol. 9, (1974) 3341], the paraquantum system is such that both the center of mass variables and the excitation modes of the string verify paracommutation relations. The commutators of the Poincaré algebra are satisfied, except the [p ,p ] one, since one can only write [p ,p ]= 0, for Q1. Because of the relation [x ,x ] =,0 and with the sole use of the trilinear relations, we find existence possibilities of spinning strings defined in a noncommutative space-time at space-time dimensions other than D=10.  相似文献

A detailed analysis is reported examining the local magnetic susceptibility (r), in relation to the correlation functionG(R) and correlation length , of a spherical model ferromagnet confined to geometry =L dd × d ( d 2,d>2) under a continuous set oftwisted boundary conditions. The twist parameter in this problem may be interpreted as a measure of the geometry-dependent doping level of interfacial impurities (or antiferromagnetic seams) in theextended system at various temperatures. For j 0, jd-d, no seams are present except at infinity, whereas if j = 1/2, impurity saturation occurs. For 0 < j < 1/2 the physical domain phys =D dd × d (D>L), defining the region between seams containing the origin, depends on temperature above a certain threshold (T>T 0). Below that temperature (T>T 0), seams are frozen at the same position (DL/2,d-d'=1), revealing a smoothly varying largescale structural phase transition.  相似文献

Coherent vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation was generated by four-wave difference frequency mixing (VUV=212) of pulsed dye laser radiation in carbon monoxide (CO). The frequency 1 was tuned to the C 1+(=0)X 1+(=0) two-photon transition, while the dye laser frequency 2 was scaned around 17650 cm–1 which corresponds to the A 1(=7)«C 1+(=0) transition energy. The VUV intensity was found to be strongly wavelength dependent. The analysis of the spectrum revealed (i) that the VUV intensity was enhanced by the rotational levels of the A 1(=7) state and (ii) that the off-resonance excitation in the C 1+(=0)X 1+(=0) two-photon transition greatly contributed to the present four-wave mixing process. The effects of pumping laser detuning, saturation and foreign gases are briefly discussed.  相似文献

For the radial Schrödinger equation with a potentialq(x) decreasing at infinity asq 0 q , (0, 2), the low energy asymptotics of spectral and scattering data is found. In particular, it is shown that forq 0>0 the spectral function vanishes exponentially as the energyk 2 tends to zero. On the contrary, there is always a zero-energy resonance forq 0<0. These results determine the local asymptotics of solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for large timest. Specifically, for positive potentials its solutions decay as exp(–0 t (2–)/(2+), 0>0,t. In the case (1, 2) it is shown that for ±q 0>0 the phase shift tends to ± ask0 and its asymptotics is evaluated.  相似文献

Parabolic triples of the form (E*,,) are considered, where (E*,) is a parabolic Higgs bundle on a given compact Riemann surface X with parabolic structure on a fixed divisor S, and is a nonzero section of the underlying vector bundle. Sending such a triple to the Higgs bundle (E*,) a map from the moduli space of stable parabolic triples to the moduli space of stable parabolic Higgs bundles is obtained. The pull back, by this map, of the symplectic form on the moduli space of stable parabolic Higgs bundles will be denoted by d. On the other hand, there is a map from the moduli space of stable parabolic triples to a Hilbert scheme Hilb(Z), where Z denotes the total space of the line bundle KX X(S), that sends a triple (E*,,) to the divisor defined by the section on the spectral curve corresponding to the parabolic Higgs bundle (E*,). Using this map and a meromorphic one–form on Hilb(Z), a natural two–form on the moduli space of stable parabolic triples is constructed. The variational calculation of energy levels for the antiprotonic helium atomcule ¯p3,4He+ based on molecular expansion of the wave function is presented. We have taken into account the , and components of the molecular wave function that correspond to azimuthal magnetic momentam=0, 1, 2, respectively. It has been discovered that the contribution of the component to energy levels of the atomcule is about 5 × 10–4 a.u. and the contribution of the component is about 10–7 a.u. The test of convergence enables us to estimate the accuracy of the obtained results to about 10–7 a.u. which is significantly better than all previous theoretical results.  相似文献
