Reactions of 3,6-di(tert-butyl)-o-benzoquinone with primary amines occur by the nucleophilic 1,4-addition mechanism and lead to the corresponding 2-hydroxy-p-quinonimines, which exist in solutions in equilibrium with tautomeric 4-amino-o-quinones. The thermodynamic parameters of this prototropic isomerism were determined by NMR spectroscopy. In the case of a secondary amine (piperidine), a derivative of 4-amino-o-quinone was obtained; the corresponding o-semiquinone complexes were studied in solution by ESR spectroscopy. Oxidation of amalgamated magnesium metal with 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone (1) in different aprotic organic solvents afforded magnesium catecholate and bis-o-semiquinolate complexes. The catecholate derivatives of magnesium CatMgL2 (Cat is the 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone dianion, L = THF or Py) were synthesized in high yields in pyridine and tetrahydrofuran, respectively. The reactions in diethyl ether or dimethoxyethane produced hexacoordinated metal bis-o-semiquinolates SQ2MgLn (SQ is the 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone radical anion, L = Et2O, n = 2; L = DME, n = 1). The reaction with the use of toluene as the solvent gave a magnesium bis-o-semiquinolate complex containing the coordinated unreduced o-quinone molecule. The molecular structures of the [CatMgPy2]2 and SQ2Mg·DME complexes were established by X-ray diffraction. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. New sterically hindered functionalized o-quinones were synthesized by the 1,4-nucleophilic addition of secondary cyclic amines to 3,6-di(tert-butyl)-o-benzoquinone. The electronic absorption spectra of some 2-styryl-4-phenyl-thiazole ethiodides are studied in organic solvents of different polarities. The shorter wavelength band appearing in the visible region is assigned to an intramolecular charge transfer (CT)-transition originating from the phenyl moiety to the positively charged hetero ring, while the longer wavelength one is due to an intermolecular CT-transition from the iodide ion to the 2-styryl-4-phenyl-thiazolinium cation. These assignments are based on the nature of the aldehydic residue and effects of solvent, concentration, and temperature on both the position and absorptivity of the CT complex-band. It is concluded that the CT complex formed will be highly solvated inDMF, DMSO, ethanol and methanol relative to in CHCl3, dioxane and acetone. The formation constant of the CT complex in solutions of different polarities is determined at different temperatures. Furthermore, the thermodynamic parameters H o, G o and S o for complex formation are calculated and discussed.

Zusammenfassung Die Elektronenanregungsspektren einiger substituierter 2-Styryl-4-phenyl-thiazol-ethiodide wurden in einigen Lösungsmitteln unterschiedlicher Polarität untersucht. Die Absorption bei kürzerer Wellenlänge wird einem intramolekularen Charge-Transfer (CT)-Übergang zugeordnet, die langwellige Bande einem intermolekularen CT-Übergang (Jodid—organ. Kation). Die Diskussion erfolgt basierend auf Substitutions-, Lösungsmittel-, Konzentrations-, und Temperatur-Effekten. Die Komplexbildungskonstanten und die thermodynamischen Parameter H o, G o und S o werden angegeben.

Photoreduction ofo-benzoquinones irradiated at the wavelengths λmax ≈ 400 and 600 nm corresponding to the S(π → π*) and S(n → π*) electron transitions in the >C=0 groups, respectively, in the presence ofN,N-dimethylaniline and its derivatives was studied. The apparent rate constants of the photoreduction (k H) ofo-quinones are determined by the free energy of electron transfer from the amine molecule to a photoexcitedo-quinone molecule (ΔG e.t). The ΔG e.t. values are calculated as the sums of the energies of the 0→0 transitions of the lowest triplet excited state ofo-quinones, the reduction energies ofo-quinones, and the oxidation energies of amines (the last two terms are numerically equal to the corresponding redox potentials). The maximum rate of photoreduction was found for ΔG e.t≈0. The reaction mechanism is proposed, in which the reversible formation of a triplet exiplex is the rate-determining stage and hydrogen transfer proceeds in parallel with electron transfer within the exiplex. Complexation with boric acid combined with cyclic voltammetry serves to prove theo-quinol/quinone functionality in emmotin H (1) and I (2). Supported by similar investigation of four reference compounds the method is suggested as a quick and reliable test ofo-quinol/quinone functionality and for differentiation fromp-quinol/quinone functionality. Voluminous groups such as 2-isopropanolyl ino-position do not interfere with the complex formation. The test requires quantities of materials in the order of 10 to 100g.  相似文献

Lead(II) catecholate complexes were prepared by reduction of 3,6-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone and its derivatives with lead metal in THF. The molecular structure of the (CatPb)4·(PbO)2·6C3H6O complex (Cat is the dianion of 3,6-di-tert-butylcatechol), which was synthesized by hydrolysis of lead 3,6-di-tert-butylcatecholate in acetone, was established by X-ray diffraction. A series of lead(II) o-semiquinone complexes, which were prepared by the addition of the phenoxyl radical to lead catecholates or by oxidation of the latter with mercury(II), copper(II), or silver(I) halides, were studied by the ESR method. Lead(II) mono-o-semiquinolate complexes undergo symmetrization to form stable bis-o-semiquinolates, which were isolated and characterized in individual state. The title compounds react with o-phenylenediamine and o-aminophenol at the ethoxalyl fragment to form heteryl-substituted quinoxalones and benzooxazinones, respectively. o-Aminobenzenethiol acts as both an S-nucleophile replacing the F atom and an N-nucleophile replacing the carbonyl group in the ethoxalyl fragment. The photocatalytic synthesis of o-aminophenol in methanol was investigated with N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles under UV-light irradiation. The catalytic quantities of N-doped TiO2 prepared by a simple modified sol–gel process with urea as nitrogen source rapidly reduced o-nitrophenol to the corresponding amine at room temperature.  相似文献

ViscosityB-coefficients of sodium salts of salicylic, thiosalicylic, anthranilic, 2,6-dihydroxy benzoic and ito-anisic acids have been measured at 298, 303 and 308 K respectively. Temperature dependence ofB-values suggest that the salts as well as their anions excepto-anisate behave as structure breakers. This is further supported by energy of activation data. The observedB-coefficients suggest probable involvement of simultaneous intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonding between an ortho-substituent and the carboxylate group on the one hand and between the ortho-substituent and solvent water on the other. A good correlation betweenB-coefficients and the electronegativities of oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur atoms has been noted. The probable involvement of ringπ-electrons in depolymerising the water structure has been conjectured.  相似文献

Complexation of methyl 3-nitro-2-(o-tolyl)-benzoate (2, ano-trisubstituted biphenyl) with hexacarbonyl chromium gave the isomeric Cr(CO)3 complexes3 and4 both existing as two torsional isomersa andb, as seen by nmr. For the main product3 the preferred conformations of the two torsional isomersa andb were deduced by the lanthanide induced shift (LIS) technique. The activation energy for the interconversion process could be determined from kinetic measurements and especially from1H-nmr coalescence temperature of the methylsignals. The barrier of 91±1.5 kJ/mol (21.7±0.3 kcal/mol) in3 reflects the interaction of theo-H-atom of the benzene ring passing the Cr(CO)3 moiety of the benchrotrene ring during the interconversion.A partial optical resolution of3 was achieved by asymmetric reduction with a chiral lithium-aluminium hydride yielding (+)-3 with [] D 20 +30° (benzene) and the levorotatory alcohol (–)-7.

Methods for the synthesis of [2,2]paracyclophane derivatives containingo- andm-carboranyl substituents in position 4, separated from the [2,2]paracyclophane system by one or two C atoms (alcohols and ketones) were developed. The Clemmensen reduction of a number of ketones of the [2,2]paracyclophane ando-carbonane series occurs abnormally. A spectrophotometric method has been developed for the simultaneous determination ofo-cresol andm-cresol in water by reaction withp-aminophenol (PAP). Three different methodologies have been assayed; (i) batch analysis, after reaction in an alkaline medium in the presence of dissolved molecular oxygen as oxidizing agent, (ii) a stopped-flow procedure, carried out in the presence of KIO4 and (iii) a flow injection method based on the same approach. The batch procedure requires 22 min for the full development of colour witho-cresol and 12 min form-cresol. In the stopped-flow mode, using KIO4 and a reaction time of 12 min, better sensitivity can be obtained for both compounds and limits of detection of 10 g 1–1 foro-cresol and 30 g 1–1 form-cresol were found. The flow injection method has a lower sensitivity but permits more than 80 injections per hour. Based on the different maximum absorbance wavelengths obtained for the reaction products of PAP witho-cresol (614 nm) andm-cresol (632 nm), both compounds can be simultaneously determined in water samples and recoveries of 90 to 115% were found in spiked water samples of different types.  相似文献

1-Hydroxy-4-phenyl-3-imidazoline reacts with butyllithium to give the product oforthometallation of the phenyl group. Reactions of this compound with electrophiles followed by oxidation afford 4-(o-R-phenyl) derivatives of nitroxyl radicals. When a hydroxyalkyl group is present in theortho-position, an unusual pathway of the decay of stable nitroxyl radicals of the imidazoline series has been observed due to the existence of a spirobicyclic tautomer. The reaction of theo-metallated derivative with CS2 leads to a profound transformation of the imidazoline ring and to the formation of isoindolethione. Fast recyclization into isoquinolines occurs in the case of the 4-(o-benzoyl)phenyl derivative of 3-imidazoline. The product ofo-metallation reacts with methyl nitrate to yield the 4-(o-hydroxy)phenyl derivative (a potential paramagnetic chelate-forming reagent) and theo-nitro derivative, the starting material for further chemical transformations.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The kinetics of the oxidation of five catecholamines viz., dopamine (A), L-dopa (B), methyldopa (C), epinephrine (D) and norepinephrine (E) by sodium N-chloro-p-toluenesulfonamide or chloramine-T (CAT) in presence of HClO4 was studied at 30±0.1 °C. The five reactions followed identical kinetics with a first-order dependence on [CAT] o , fractional-order in [substrate] o , and inverse fractional-order in [H+]. Under comparable experimental conditions, the rate of oxidation of catecholamines increases in the order D>E>A>B>C. The variation of ionic strength of the medium and the addition of p-toluenesulfonamide or halide ions had no significant effect on the reaction rate. The rate increased with decreasing dielectric constant of the medium. The solvent isotope effect was studied using D2O. A Michaelis-Menten type mechanism has been suggested to explain the results. Equilibrium and decomposition constants for CAT-catecholamine complexes have been evaluated. CH3C6H4SO2NHCl of the oxidant has been postulated as the reactive oxidizing species and oxidation products were identified. An isokinetic relationship is observed with β=361 K, indicating that enthalpy factors control the reaction rate. The mechanism proposed and the derived rate law are consistent with the observed kinetics.  相似文献

Photoreduction of o-benzoquinones in the presence of p-bromo-N,N-dimethylaniline under irradiation ( > 500 nm) affords the corresponding pyrocatechols and hydroxyphenyl ethers. The latter are unstable and, in turn, decompose in the dark reaction to pyrocatechols. The ratio between pyrocatechol and hydroxyphenyl ether formed upon the photoreaction is determined by the structure of o-quinone, namely, the presence and bulk of substituents in positions 3 and 6 of the ring. The yield of pyrocatechol is maximal (60—65%) if the substituents are the same (H and H, But and But) or insignificantly differ (Pri and But), regardless of its bulk.  相似文献

Kinetics of the vapor phase hydrogenation of o-chloronitrobenzene (o-CNB) over Pd/Al2O3 catalyst has been studied in a downflow microreactor under atmospheric pressure. Reaction rates have been measured at three different temperatures with respect to the partial pressures of o-CNB and hydrogen. The order of the reaction with respect to o-CNB was 0.53 at 280°C and increased with increasing temperature. However, with respect to hydrogen, a negative order was observed at 280°C, which decreased further with increasing in temperature. The apparent activation energy (Ea), from the Arrhenius plot was found to be 41 kJ/mol. On the basis of kinetic results a surface mechanism is suggested.  相似文献

The densities of tetraalkylammonium bromide, R4NBr (R = Et, Pr, Bu, Hex, Hep, Oct), solutions in dimethylformamide have been measured for the composition range (0.05–0.4) mol-kg−1 at 25 C. Apparent molar Vφ and limiting partial molar volumes 2o of the electrolytes have been evaluated. Using the extrapolation values, the limiting partial molar volumes of the tetraalkymammonium ions (io) have been calculated. Analysis of different contributions to the ionic io indicated partial penetration of solvent molecules into the van der Waal’s volume of tetraalkylammonium (TAA) ions.  相似文献
