Townsend's first ionization coefficients have been measured in corssed electric and magnetic fields for values of B/p ranging from 0.013 TESLA. TORR-1 to 0.064 TESLA.TORR-1 and for 103 x 102? E/p? 331 x 102 V.M-1. TORR-1 in oxygen and for 122 x 102? E/p?488 x 102 V.M-1.TORR-1 for dry air. The values of effective collision frequencies determined from the equivalent pressure (pe) concept generally increase with E/p at constant B/p and decrease with increasing B/p at constant E/p. Effective collision frequencies determined from measured sparking potentials at high values of E/p increase with decreasing E/pe. The drift velocity and mean energy of electrons in oxygen in crossed electric and magnetic fields have been derived.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the methods of calculation of electron ionization coefficient data. First we give a summary of the data for analytic parametrization of ionization coefficients. Such data may be useful for particle and radiation detectors and for studies of breakdown voltages in gas dielectrics. We have applied extended Townsend formula to fit the experimental data for a number of gases and shown that it provides excellent fits for the entire range of E/N where data are available. We also tested the application of the common E/N and the common mean energy combination of data for pure gases to obtain ionization coefficients for mixtures. The standard combination procedure gives poor results in general but the common mean energy procedure provides an extended region of reasonable usefulness. Test calculations were made for Ar–CH4 mixtures which were found to be the most difficult combination of the selected gases for the application of the mixture law.  相似文献

The ratio of diffusion coefficient to mobility (D/?) for electrons has been measured in SF6-air and freon-nitrogen mixtures for various concentrations of SF6 and freon in the mixtures over the range 140? E/p? 220 V.cm-1 - torr-1. In SF6-air mixtures, the values of D/? were always observed to lie intermediate between the values for the pure gases. However, in freon-nitrogen mixtures, with a small concentration (10 percent) of freon in the mixture, the values of D/? are found to lie above the boundaries determined by the pure gases. In this mixture, over the lower E/p range (140 to 190) the electrons appear to lose a large fraction of their energy by the excitation of the complex freon molecules, while at higher E/p values (200 to 240), the excitation and consequent deexcitation of nitrogen molecules and its metastables seem to cause an increased rate of ionization of freon molecules.  相似文献

流体或者粒子-流体混合数值仿真是研究流注放电基本物理机制的常用手段,而精确的电子输运系数是保证其仿真正确性的必要前提.鉴于现有电子输运系数求解工具存在一定缺陷,本文开发了采用蒙特卡罗方法求解低温等离子体中电子输运系数的仿真工具,测试表明其准确性和精确度均较高.研究了氮氧气体混合比及大气压下三体碰撞吸附对电子输运系数的影响.氮气中流注放电仿真表明,流体仿真中采用本模型改进后的电子输运系数可显著改善流注通道内部的等离子体参数分布.  相似文献

An experiment using probe and spectroscopic methods has been performed to study the physical processes and the kinetics of nonequilibrium processes in the steady-state and pulsed low-temperature plasmas of mixtures of noble gases with fluorine and some fluorine-containing halides. The results of the experiment are compared with predictions of a numerical simulation. It has been shown that as the percentage of the fluorine-containing gas is varied the average energy goes through a minimum, and the difference between the Townsend coefficients of ionization and attachment goes through an extremum as well. The numerical simulation has demonstrated that these variations in the physical parameters of plasmas are governed by kinetic factors. Ivanovo State University. Unsaturated absorption coefficients in pure carbon dioxide at pressures of 1 and 100 Torr and in CO2-N2 and CO2-He binary mixtures at a pressure of 100 Torr have been measured in the temperature range of 296?C700 K using a frequency-stabilized tunable CO2 laser. The collisional self-broadening coefficient, the relative coefficients of collisional broadening caused by N2 and He buffer gases, and their temperature dependences have been determined for the R22 absorption line of the 1000?C0001 transition in CO2 molecules.  相似文献

在均匀电场中,用高能激光脉冲释放初始电子以研究负电性气体的电子崩的发展,决定预放电过程的基本参数(游离系数α,吸附系数η和漂移速度v等)是一个有用的方法,本文对此方法做了详细的分析。采用这种方法对SF6-CO2混合气体做了研究,获得了108个以上的初始电子及其分布,并给出了α/P,η/P和ν与E/P(E=电场强度,P=气体压力)的关系。本文还对所用的测量系统做了讨论,提出了改进办法。 关键词:  相似文献

A recent theory of non-conformal interactions has been very succesful in providing effective spherical potentials for the pressure of more than 40 real gases and many of their binary mixtures. Here, this theory is applied to deal with low-density viscosity coefficients. In its simplest form, the approximate non-conformal (ANC) theory introduces, besides the usual corresponding states parameters-energy ? and distance rm-a softness parameter s to account for the form of a particular potential function. We investigate the effects of the potential form on the temperature behaviour of the viscosisty coefficient η. It is shown that the softer potentials, with wider attractive wells, have larger viscosities and an explicit expression for η (T, ?, rm, s) is obtained. The ANC potentials are tested in their capacity to reproduce the temperature dependence of η for the heavier noble gases (Ar, Kr and Xe), diatomics (H2, N2, O2 and CI2) and a dozen small polyatomics. It is found that the ANC model η (T, ?, rm, s), with only three substance-dependent parameters, reproduces experimental 7 data within their estimated error.  相似文献

Measurements of cathode fall characteristics and of the influence of the cathode fall on the discharge properties of an electron beam ionized discharge (EBD) are reported. Gases investigated included methane, nitrogen, and argon. The cathode fall voltage was found to be a function of discharge current, voltage, gas type and pressure, and the rate of external ionization. At low discharge voltages, the cathode sheath region was found to require microseconds to get established. Added attaching gases had little influence on the cathode fall. Extrapolating to high rates of external ionization, the cathode fall voltage still can be expected to be hundreds of volts for the gases investigated.  相似文献

Based on the multi-configuration Dirac-Fock method, theoretical calculations are carried out for the dielectronic recombination (DR) rate coefficients and the collision excitation rate coefficients of Sn^10+ ions. It is found that the total DR rate coefficient has its maximum value between 10eV and 100eV and is greater than either the radiative recombination or three-body recombination rate coefficients (the number of free electrons per unit is 10^21 cm^3) for the ease of Te 〉 1 eV. Therefore, DR can strongly influence the ionization balance of laser produced multi-charged tin ions. The related dieleetronie satellite cannot be ignored at low temperature Te 〈 5 eV.  相似文献

The breakdown characteristics of a gas in the presence of crossed electric and magnetic fields are discussed in terms of the Townsend ionization coefficients. The “equivalent pressure” concept is used to assess the effect of a transverse magnetic field on the first Townsend coefficient and the objections which have been raised to the application of this approach to breakdown potentials are shown to be removed by a consideration of the dependence of the second Townsend coefficient upon electric and magnetic field strengths.  相似文献

 为研究强冲击状态下混入少量空气的甲烷气体的冲击状态参数,利用二级轻气炮加载技术,使加速到5 km/s的钨合金飞片撞击封装有常态下空气混入量依次为零(纯甲烷气体)、1%、5%、10%的甲烷-空气混合气体铝靶。采用六通道瞬态光学高温计记录冲击压缩气体的光辐射历程曲线,得到了相同初始条件下4种不同比例混合气体的冲击状态参数。结果表明,在强冲击压缩下,混合气体的冲击温度随着空气混入比例的增大而增高,冲击波后混合气体存在非平衡辐射过程。采用Saha电离平衡方程,对空气混入量为10%的混合气体的电离度进行了估算。结果表明,常态下空气含量Cair≤10%的甲烷 空气混合气体具有电探针保护能力。  相似文献

A numerical study of the impact of different model coefficients on the frequency, DC current, and the rise time of the Trichel pulses in a needle-plane negative corona discharge is presented here. The studied coefficients include the coefficients of the ionization and attachment reactions, the mobilities of the three charged species considered in the model (electrons and positive and negative ions), and the coefficient of the secondary emission of electrons. The characteristics of the pulses were also studied using another set of model coefficients which includes an extended number of reactions such as detachment of the electrons from negative ions.  相似文献

By application of a crossed magnetic field, the electron energy distribution in a gas discharge can be shifted to lower energy values, as demonstrated by means of Monte Carlo calculations for electrons in He:SF6 mixtures. Consequently, through the change in the rate coefficients for ionization and attachment, the sustaining field in the discharge plasma is increased. This magnetically induced voltage rise was studied in a low-pressure glow discharge. The cathode fall was found to be the dominant component in determining the characteristics of this magnetically controlled discharge. The drastic rise of the cathode fall above a threshold value could be utilized in operating a glow discharge as an opening switch for an inductive energy storage system.  相似文献

The effects of shielding gas types and flow rates on CO2 laser weldability of DP600/TRIP700 steel sheets were studied in this work. The evaluated shielding gases were helium (He), argon (Ar) and different mixtures of He and Ar. Weld penetration, tensile strength and formability (Erichsen test) of laser welds were found to be strongly dependent upon the shielding gas types. The ability of shielding gas in removing plasma plume and thus increasing weld penetration is believed to be closely related to ionization potential and atomic weight which determine the period of plasma formation and disappearance. It was found that the higher helium shielding gas flow rate, the deeper weld penetration and the lower weld width.  相似文献

The ozone generation by negative corona discharge in coaxial cylindrical system of electrodes have been studied experimentally in Ar+O2 and N2+O2 mixtures. Both in argon and nitrogen mixtures with oxygen the monotonous decrease in ozone concentration [O3] was observed at decreasing oxygen content in mixtures and the constant input energy density η. The rate coefficients for the ozone generation and ozone decomposition were obtained by fitting experimentally measured data [O3]=f(η) with Vasiljev-Eremin formula. The calculated rate coefficient for ozone generation in N2+O2 mixtures at low content of oxygen (below 20%) was found considerably higher than that in Ar+O2 mixtures. Increase in the rate coefficients for ozone generation and decomposition was observed with decreasing content of oxygen in both mixtures. The experimental results are in qualitative agreement with the simple model incorporating five main chemical processes in mechanism of ozone generation. Based on experimental data and generalized variables for expanding pulsed high-current discharges in dense gases, the criteria for reaching their limiting temperatures were determined.
