A bisequence of complex numbers {μn}−∞ determines a strong moment functional satisfying L[xn] = μn. If is positive-definite on a bounded interval (a,b) R{0}, then has an integral representation , n=0, ±1, ±2,…, and quadrature rules {wni, xni} exist such that μk = ∑i=innsnikwni. This paper is concerned with establishing certain extremal properties of the weights wni and using these properties to obtain maximal mass results satisfied by distributions ψ(x) representing when only a finite bisequence of moments {μk}k=−nn−1 is given.  相似文献

Let G be a graph of order n, and let a and b be integers such that 1a<b. Let δ(G) be the minimum degree of G. Then we prove that if δ(G)(k−1)a, n(a+b)(k(a+b)−2)/b, and |NG(x1)NG(x2)NG(xk)|an/(a+b) for any independent subset {x1,x2,…,xk} of V(G), where k2, then G has an [a,b]-factor. This result is best possible in some sense.  相似文献

The R(m,n) equations utt+a(un)xx+b(um)xxtt=0 (a, b const) are investigated by using some ansatze. As a result, new exact solitary patterns solutions and solitary wave solutions are obtained. These obtained solutions show that not only the nonlinearly dispersive R(m,m) equations (m≠1) but also the linearly dispersive R(1,n) equations (m=1) possess solitary patterns solutions, which has infinite slopes or cusps and solitary wave solutions.  相似文献

A mapping ƒ : n=1InI is called a bag mapping having the self-identity if for every (x1,…,xn) ε i=1In we have (1) ƒ(x1,…,xn) = ƒ(xi1,…,xin) for any arrangement (i1,…,in) of {1,…,n}; monotonic; (3) ƒ(x1,…,xn, ƒ(x1,…,xn)) = ƒ(x1,…,xn). Let {ωi,n : I = 1,…,n;n = 1,2,…} be a family of non-negative real numbers satisfying Σi=1nωi,n = 1 for every n. Then one calls the mapping ƒ : i=1InI defined as follows an OWA bag mapping: for every (x1,…,xn) ε i=1In, ƒ(x1,…,xn) = Σi=1nωi,nyi, where yi is the it largest element in the set {x1,…,xn}. In this paper, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for an OWA bag mapping having the self-identity.  相似文献

We form squares from the product of integers in a short interval [n, n + tn], where we include n in the product. If p is prime, p|n, and (2p) > n, we prove that p is the minimum tn. If no such prime exists, we prove tn √5n when n> 32. If n = p(2p − 1) and both p and 2p − 1 are primes, then tn = 3p> 3 √n/2. For n(n + u) a square > n2, we conjecture that a and b exist where n < a < b < n + u and nab is a square (except n = 8 and N = 392). Let g2(n) be minimal such that a square can be formed as the product of distinct integers from [n, g2(n)] so that no pair of consecutive integers is omitted. We prove that g2(n) 3n − 3, and list or conjecture the values of g2(n) for all n. We describe the generalization to kth powers and conjecture the values for large n.  相似文献

We construct the polynomial pm,n* of degree m which interpolates a given real-valued function f L2[a, b] at pre-assigned n distinct nodes and is the best approximant to f in the L2-sense over all polynomials of degree m with the same interpolatory character. It is shown that the L2-error pm,n*f → 0 as m → ∞ if f C[a, b].  相似文献

Let S=(a1,...,am; b1,...,bn), where a1,...,am and b1,...,bn are two nonincreasing sequences of nonnegative integers. The pair S=(a1,...,am; b1,...,bn) is said to be a bigraphic pair if there is a simple bipartite graph G=(XY, E) such that a1,...,am and b1,...,bn are the degrees of the vertices in X and Y, respectively. Let Z3 be the cyclic group of order 3. Define σ(Z3, m, n) to be the minimum integer k such that every bigraphic pair S=(a1,...,am; b1,...,bn) with am, bn ≥ 2 and σ(S)=a1 +... + amk has a Z3-connected realization. For n=m, Yin[Discrete Math., 339, 2018-2026 (2016)] recently determined the values of σ(Z3, m, m) for m ≥ 4. In this paper, we completely determine the values of σ(Z3, m, n) for m n ≥ 4.  相似文献

In this paper, we provide a solution of the quadrature sum problem of R. Askey for a class of Freud weights. Let r> 0, b (− ∞, 2]. We establish a full quadrature sum estimate
1 p < ∞, for every polynomial P of degree at most n + rn1/3, where W2 is a Freud weight such as exp(−¦x¦), > 1, λjn are the Christoffel numbers, xjn are the zeros of the orthonormal polynomials for the weight W2, and C is independent of n and P. We also prove a generalisation, and that such an estimate is not possible for polynomials P of degree M = m(n) if m(n) = n + ξnn1/3, where ξn → ∞ as n → ∞. Previous estimates could sum only over those xjn with ¦xjn¦ σx1n, some fixed 0 < σ < 1.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the behaviour of the solutions of equations ΣI=1n aixi = b, where Σi=1n, ai = 0 and b ≠ 0, with respect to colorings of the set N of positive integers. It turns out that for any b ≠ 0 there exists an 8-coloring of N, admitting no monochromatic solution of x3x2 = x2x1 + b. For this equation, for b odd and 2-colorings, only an odd-even coloring prevents a monochromatic solution. For b even and 2-colorings, always monochromatic solutions can be found, and bounds for the corresponding Rado numbers are given. If one imposes the ordering x1 < x2 < x3, then there exists already a 4-coloring of N, which prevents a monochromatic solution of x3x2 = x2x1 + b, where b ε N.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear parabolic equation ut = (k(u)ux)x + b(u)x, where u = u(x, t, x ε R1, t > 0; k(u) ≥ 0, b(u) ≥ 0 are continuous functions as u ≥ 0, b (0) = 0; k, b > 0 as u > 0. At t = 0 nonnegative, continuous and bounded initial value is prescribed. The boundary condition u(0, t) = Ψ(t) is supposed to be unbounded as t → +∞. In this paper, sufficient conditions for space localization of unbounded boundary perturbations are found. For instance, we show that nonlinear equation ut = (unux)x + (uβ)x, n ≥ 0, β >; n + 1, exhibits the phenomenon of “inner boundedness,” for arbitrary unbounded boundary perturbations.  相似文献

This paper gives a parallel computing scheme for minimizing a twice continuously differentiable function with the form
where x = (xT1,…,xTm)T and xi Rni, ∑mi = 1ni = n, and n a very big number. It is proved that we may use m parallel processors and an iterative procedure to find a minimizer of ƒ(x). The convergence and convergence rate are given under some conditions. The conditions for finding a global minimizer of ƒ(x by using this scheme are given, too. A similar scheme can also be used parallelly to solve a large scale system of nonlinear equations in the similar way. A more general case is also investigated.  相似文献

Let n3 and be positive integers, f :SnSn be a C0-mapping, and denote the standard embedding. As an application of the Pontryagin–Thom construction in the special case of the two-point configuration space, we construct complete algebraic obstructions O(f) and to discrete and isotopic realizability (realizability as an embedding) of the mapping Jf. The obstructions are described in terms of stable (equivariant) homotopy groups of neighborhoods of the singular set Σ(f)={(x,y)Sn×Snf(x)=f(y), xy}.

A standard method of solving problems in differential topology is to translate them into homotopy theory by means of bordism theory and Pontryagin–Thom construction. By this method we give a generalization of the van-Kampen–Skopenkov obstruction to discrete realizability of f and the van-Kampen–Melikhov obstruction to isotopic realizability of f. The latter are complete only in the case d=0 and are the images of our obstructions under a Hurewicz homomorphism.

We consider several examples of computation of the obstructions.  相似文献

Let us denote ab=max(a,b) and ab=a+b for and extend this pair of operations to matrices and vectors in the same way as in linear algebra. We present an O(n2(m+n log n)) algorithm for finding all essential terms of the max-algebraic characteristic polynomial of an n×n matrix over with m finite elements. In the cases when all terms are essential, this algorithm also solves the following problem: Given an n×n matrix A and k{1,…,n}, find a k×k principal submatrix of A whose assignment problem value is maximum.  相似文献

We introduce the differential polynomial of a graph. The differential polynomial of a graph G of order n is the polynomial B(G; x) :=∑?(G)k=-nB_k(G) x~(n+k), where B_k(G) denotes the number of vertex subsets of G with differential equal to k. We state some properties of B(G;x) and its coefficients. In particular, we compute the differential polynomial for complete, empty, path, cycle, wheel and double star graphs. We also establish some relationships between B(G; x) and the differential polynomials of graphs which result by removing, adding, and subdividing an edge from G.  相似文献

We investigate parallel searching on m concurrent rays. We assume that a target t is located somewhere on one of the rays; we are given a group of m point robots each of which has to reach t. Furthermore, we assume that the robots have no way of communicating over distance. Given a strategy S we are interested in the competitive ratio defined as the ratio of the time needed by the robots to reach t using S and the time needed to reach t if the location of t is known in advance.

If a lower bound on the distance to the target is known, then there is a simple strategy which achieves a competitive ratio of 9—independent of m. We show that 9 is a lower bound on the competitive ratio for two large classes of strategies if m2.

If the minimum distance to the target is not known in advance, we show a lower bound on the competitive ratio of 1+2(k+1)k+1/kk where k=logm where log is used to denote the base-2 logarithm. We also give a strategy that obtains this ratio.  相似文献

Let S be a compact, weak self-similar perfect set based on a system of weak contractions fj, j=1,…,m each of which is characterized by a variable contraction coefficient j(l) as d(fj(x),fj(y)) j(l)d(x,y), d(x,y)<l, l>0. If the relation ∑mj=1j(l0)<1 holds at at least one point l0, then every nonempty compact metric space is a continuous image of the set S.  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf algebra over a field k and let H AA, h ah.a, be an action of H on a commutative local Noetherian kalgebra (A, m). We say that this action is linearizable if there exists a minimal system x1, …, xn of generators of the maximal ideal m such that h.xi ε kx1 + …+ kxn for all h ε H and i = 1, …, n. In the paper we prove that the actions from a certain class are linearizable (see Theorem 4), and we indicate some consequences of this fact.  相似文献

We consider embeddings of the complete t-ary trees of depth k (denotation Tk,t) as subgraphs into the hypercube of minimum dimension n. This n, denoted by dim(Tk,t), is known if max{k,t}2. First, we study the next open cases t=3 and k=3. We improve the known upper bound dim(Tk,3)2k+1 up to limk→∞dim(Tk,3)/k5/3 and show limt→∞dim(T3,t)/t=227/120. As a co-result, we present an exact formula for the dimension of arbitrary trees of depth 2, as a function of their vertex degrees. These results and new techniques provide an improvement of the known upper bound for dim(Tk,t) for arbitrary k and t.  相似文献

For a double array {V_(m,n), m ≥ 1, n ≥ 1} of independent, mean 0 random elements in a real separable Rademacher type p(1 ≤ p ≤ 2) Banach space and an increasing double array {b_(m,n), m ≥1, n ≥ 1} of positive constants, the limit law ■ and in L_p as m∨n→∞ is shown to hold if ■ This strong law of large numbers provides a complete characterization of Rademacher type p Banach spaces. Results of this form are also established when 0 p ≤ 1 where no independence or mean 0 conditions are placed on the random elements and without any geometric conditions placed on the underlying Banach space.  相似文献

Given an infinite sequence t=(k)k of −1 and +1, we consider the oriented walk defined by Sn(t)=∑k=1n12k. The set of t's whose behaviors satisfy Sn(t)bnτ is considered ( and 0<τ1 being fixed) and its Hausdorff dimension is calculated. A two-dimensional model is also studied. A three-dimensional model is described, but the problem remains open.  相似文献
