We consider a semilinear parabolic equation with a nonlinear non-dissipative boundary condition. In the one-dimensional case we describe bifurcation diagrams for positive and sign-changing equilibria and connecting orbits between these equilibria. We also show that the number of sign-changing stationary solutions strongly depends on the spatial dimension. The results are based on new a priori estimates of global solutions.  相似文献

The mechanisms of development of slow time-dependent disturbances in the wall region of a hypersonic boundary layer are established and a diagram of the disturbed flow patterns is plotted; the corresponding nonlinear boundary value problem is formulated for each of these regimes. It is shown that the main factors that form the disturbed flow are the gas enthalpy near the body surface, the local viscous-inviscid interaction level, and the type, either subsonic or supersonic, of the boundary layer as a whole. Numerical and analytical solutions are obtained in the linear approximation. It is established that enhancement of the local viscous-inviscid interaction or an increased role for the main supersonic region of the boundary layer makes the disturbed flow by and large “supersonic”: the upstream propagation of the disturbances becomes weaker, while their downstream growth is amplified. Contrariwise, local viscous-inviscid interaction attenuation or an increased role for the main subsonic region of the boundary layer has the opposite effect. Surface cooling favors an increased effect of the main region of the boundary layer while heating favors an increased wall region effect. It is also found that in the regimes considered disturbances travel from the turbulent flow region downstream of the disturbed region under consideration counter to the oncoming flow, which may be of considerable significance in constructing the nonlinear stability theory.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the time discrete analysis of the Oseen system of equations driven by nonlinear slip boundary conditions of friction type. We study the existence of solutions of the time discrete model and derive several a priori estimates needed to recover the solution of the continuous problem by means of weak compactness. Moreover, for the difference between the exact and approximate solutions, we obtain the rate of convergence of order one with respect to the time step without imposing extra regularity on the weak solution.  相似文献

An analytical method is proposed to accurately estimate the pull-in parameters of a micro- or nanocantilever beam elastically constrained by a rotational spring at one end. The system is actuated by electrostatic force and subject to Casimir or van der Waals forces according to the beam size. The deflection of the beam is described by a fourth-order nonlinear boundary value problem, or equivalently in terms of a nonlinear integral equation. New a priori analytical estimates on the solution from both sides are first derived and then lower and upper bounds for the pull-in parameters are obtained, with no need of solving the nonlinear boundary value problem. The lower and upper bounds turn out to be very close each other and in excellent agreement with the numerical results provided by the shooting method. The approach also provides accurate predictions for the pull-in parameters of a freestanding nanoactuator.  相似文献

We prove the local-in-time existence of solutions with a surface of current-vortex sheet (tangential discontinuity) of the equations of ideal compressible magnetohydrodynamics in three space dimensions provided that a stability condition is satisfied at each point of the initial discontinuity. This paper is a natural completion of our previous analysis (Trakhinin in Arch Ration Mech Anal 177:331–366, 2005) where a sufficient condition for the weak stability of planar current-vortex sheets was found and a basic a priori estimate was proved for the linearized variable coefficients problem for nonplanar discontinuities. The original nonlinear problem is a free boundary hyperbolic problem. Since the free boundary is characteristic, the functional setting is provided by the anisotropic weighted Sobolev spaces . The fact that the Kreiss–Lopatinski condition is satisfied only in a weak sense yields losses of derivatives in a priori estimates. Therefore, we prove our existence theorem by a suitable Nash–Moser-type iteration scheme.  相似文献

The research of the miscible oil and water displacement problem with moving boundary values is of great value to the history of oil-gas transport and accumulation in the basin evolution as well as to the rational evaluation in prospecting and exploiting oil-gas resources. The mathematical model can be described as a coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations with moving boundary values. For the twodimensional bounded region, the upwind finite difference schemes are proposed. Some techniques, such as the calculus of variations, the change of variables, and the theory of a priori estimates, are used. The optimal orderl2-norm estimates are derived for the errors in the approximate solutions. The research is important both theoretically and practically for the model analysis in the field, the model numerical method, and the software development.  相似文献

This paper presents a systematical investigation of the nonlinear bending of polarorthotropic circular plates under arbitrarily axisymmetric loads and a variety of boundaryconditions.Firstly,the boundary value problem reduces to the equivalent integralequations,and the solutions to the linearized problem are given by means of generalizedfunctions.Secondly,the general properties of the solutions of the nonlinear integralequations are investigated in detail,such as,wrinkling,non-negativity,and singularity etc.Then,the monotonic iterative solutions are formally given and the convergence criteria andthe global uniqueness of the solutions are discussed.The error estimate of the iterativeprocess is obtained.Finally,a special example is discussed which shows that the conclusionsand methods of this paper are valid.Several results in the paper are presented for the firsttime.  相似文献

We analyze the linear stability of rectilinear compressible current-vortex sheets in two-dimensional isentropic magnetohydrodynamics, which is a free boundary problem with the boundary being characteristic. In the case when the magnitude of the magnetic field has no jump on the current-vortex sheets, we find a necessary and sufficient condition of linear stability for the rectilinear current-vortex sheets, showing that magnetic fields exert a stabilization effect on compressible vortex sheets. In addition, a loss of regularity with respect to the source terms, both in the interior domain and on the boundary, occurs in a priori estimates of solutions to the linearized problem for a rectilinear current-vortex sheet, as the Kreiss–Lopatinskii determinant associated with this linearized boundary value problem has roots on the boundary of frequency spaces. In this study, the construction of symmetrizers for a reduced differential system, which has poles at which the Kreiss–Lopatinskii condition may fail simultaneously, plays a crucial role in the a priori estimates.  相似文献

The self-similar singular solution of the fast diffusion equation with nonlinear gradient absorption terms are studied. By a self-similar transformation, the self-similar solutions satisfy a boundary value problem of nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE). Using the shooting arguments, the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the initial data problem of the nonlinear ODE are investigated, and the solutions are classified by the region of the initial data. The necessary and sufficient condition for the existence and uniqueness of self-similar very singular solutions is obtained by investigation of the classification of the solutions. The nonlinear dynamical behavior of a single-mode model of noncontact AFM is analyzed in terms of attractors robustness and basins integrity. The model considered for the analyses, proposed in (Hornstein and Gottlieb in Nonlinear Dyn. 54:93–122, 2008), consistently includes the nonlinear atomic interaction and is studied under scan excitation (which appears as parametric excitation) and vertical excitation (which is prevalently external). Local bifurcation analyses are carried out to identify the overall stability boundary in the excitation parameter space as the envelope of system local escapes, to be compared with the one obtained via numerical simulations. The dynamical integrity of periodic bounded solutions is studied, and basin erosion is evaluated by means of two different integrity measures. The obtained erosion profiles allow us to dwell on the possible lack of homogeneous safety of the stability boundary in terms of robustness of the attractors, and to identify practical escape thresholds ensuring an a priori design safety target.  相似文献

This paper presents a new method for solving a nonlinear exterior boundary value problem arising in two-dimensional elasto-plasticity. The procedure is based on the introduction of a sufficiently large circle that divides the exterior domain into a bounded region and an unbounded one. This allows us to consider the Dirichlet-Neumann mapping on the circle, which provides an explicit formula for the stress in terms of the displacement by using an appropriate infinite Fourier series. In this way we can reduce the original problem to an equivalent nonlinear boundary value problem on the bounded domain with a natural boundary condition on the circle. Hence, the resulting weak formulation includes boundary and field terms, which yields the so called boundary-field equation method. Next, we employ the finite Fourier series to obtain a sequence of approximating nonlinear problems from which the actual Galerkin schemes are derived. Finally, we apply some tools from monotone operators to prove existence, uniqueness and approximation results, including Cea type error estimates for the corresponding discrete solutions.  相似文献

This article describes new a priori stability for the full nonlinear systems of coupled thermoplasticity at finite strains and presents a fractional step method leading to a new class of unconditionally stable staggered algorithms. These results are shown to hold for general models of multiplicative plasticity that include, as a particular case, the single-crystal model. The proposed product formula algorithm is designed via an entropy based operator split that yields one of the first known staggered algorithms that retains the property of nonlinear unconditional stability. The scheme employs an isentropic step, in which the total entropy is held constant, followed by a heat conduction step (with nonlinear source) at fixed configuration. The nonlinear stability analysis shows that the proposed staggered scheme inherits the a priori energy estimate for the continuum problem, regardless of the size of the time-step. In sharp contrast with these results, it is shown that widely used staggered methods employing an isothermal step followed by a heat conduction problem can be at most only conditionally stable. The excellent performance of the methodology is illustrated in representative numerical simulations.  相似文献

In this study, an air-filled, heavy membrane tube section resting on an incline is considered. The shape of the tube section is determined by the equilibrium of its weight and the transmural pressure. All quantities are normalized to obtain similarity solutions. A system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with undetermined boundary conditions is solved analytically. The closed-form solutions are expressed in terms of the non-dimensional pressure for a given inclination angle. Using the results of this study, one can estimate the shape and characteristic values of a tube section without the burden of numerical calculations.  相似文献

A viscous fluid is squeezed between two parallel elliptic plates. If the gap width varies as the inverse square root of time, exact similarity equations may be obtained. The nonlinear two-point boundary value problem is then solved by perturbation theory and also integrated numerically by a new homotopy method. Nonunique solutions exist for the separation of the plates. This paper shows two-dimensional or axisymmetric boundary conditions may yield non-two-dimensional and nonaxisymmetric solutions.  相似文献
