A theoretical framework for describing the kinematics and energetics of hexagonal atomic lattices, including planar carbon graphene sheets and cylindrical nanotubes, is proposed. By analogy with the membrane theory of thin shells, the deformation of the particulate lattice in the neighborhood of each atom is described in terms of a uniquely defined deformation gradient and companion local inner displacement. Expressions for the pointwise tensions developing in the plane of the lattice are developed, and a rational procedure for deriving discrete equilibrium equations is discussed. An alternative formulation involving the second-order deformation gradient that parallels the strain gradient theory of bulk media is proposed, and a tentative analogy with a the theory of micropolar elastic media is outlined.  相似文献

This paper presents a set of 3D general solutions for thermoporoelastic media for the steady-state problem. By introducing two displacement functions, the equations governing the elastic, pressure and temperature fields are simplified. The operator theory and superposition principle are then employed to express all the physical quantities in terms of two functions, one of which satisfies a quasi–Laplace equation and the other satisfies a differential equation of the eighth order. The generalized Almansi's theorem is used to derive the displacements, pressure and temperature in terms of five quasi-harmonic functions for various cases of material characteristic roots. To show its practical significance, an infinite medium containing a penny-shaped crack subjected to mechanical, pressure and temperature loads on the crack surface is given as an example. A potential theory method is employed to solve the problem. One integro-differential equation and two integral equations are derived, which bear the same structures to those reported in literature. For a penny-shaped crack subjected to uniformly distributed loads, exact and complete solutions in terms of elementary functions are obtained, which can serve as a benchmark for various kinds of numerical codes and approximate solutions.  相似文献

The fracture problem of a penny shaped crack in a piezoelectric ceramic cylinder surrounded by an infinite elastic medium under in-plane normal mechanical and electrical loads is considered with the electric continuous boundary conditions on the crack surface. By using the potential theory and Hankel transform, a system of dual integral equations is obtained, and expressed to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The mechanical and electrical field equations and all sorts of field intensity factors of mode I are obtained, and the numerical values of various field intensity factors for PZT-6B piezoelectric ceramic surrounded by several different elastic media are graphically shown for a uniform load and a ring-shaped load, respectively. And the effects of the size of the piezoelectric cylinder and the elastic material properties on various field intensity factors are obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, a boundary element scheme for arbitrary elastic thin shells is elaborated, Based on BEM of 3D linear elasticity and Kirchhoff's hypothesis, boundary integral equations for shells are deduced. As a result, only Kelvin's solution is used, the difficulty in finding a fundamental solution of arbitrary shells is successfully avoided. This paper touches upon the computer simulation of the propagation of elastic waves in three-dimensional multilayer fractured media. The dynamic processes are described using the defining system of equations in the partial derivatives of the deformed solid mechanics. The numerical solution of this system is carried out via the grid-characteristic method on curvilinear structural grids. The fractured nature of the medium is accounted for by explicitly selecting the boundaries of individual cracks and setting special boundary conditions in them. Various models of heterogeneous deformed media with a fractured structures are considered: a homogeneous medium, a medium with horizontal boundaries, a medium with inclined boundaries, and a medium curvilinear boundaries. The wave fields detected on the surface are obtained, and their structures are analyzed. It is demonstrated that it is possible to detect the waves scattered from fractured media even in the case of nonparallel (inclined and curvilinear) boundaries of geological layers.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze mathematical properties of an isotropic soft solid model which is characterized by three elastic constants. The model was proposed to interpret measurements of weakly non-linear shear waves in gel-like and tissue-like media. In our analysis we are particularly interested in third order non-linear terms. We present for the first time the full equations of elastodynamics, as well as the equations for plane waves for this model, with cubically non-linear terms. Next, the interaction coefficients for non-linear interactions of three plane waves to produce the fourth wave are explicitly calculated. These coefficients show which of the three waves interact with each other and determine how strong the effect of interaction is on the produced fourth wave. It turns out that these coefficients are expressed in terms of some combinations of three elastic constants. The obtained results can be helpful in experimental determination of elastic constants which describe the model.  相似文献

This paper presents a mathematical model for describing approximately the viscoelastic effects in non-Newtonian steady flows through a porous medium. The rheological behaviour of power law fluids is considered in the Maxwell model of elastic behaviour of the fluids. The equations governing the steady flow through porous media are derived and an analytical solution of these equations in the case of a simple flow system is obtained. The conditions for which the viscoelastic effects may become observable from the pressure distribution measurements are shown and expressed in terms of some dimensionless groups. These have been found to be relevant in the evaluation of viscoelastic effects in the steady flow through porous media.  相似文献

The mechanics of granular and porous media is considered in the light of the modern theories of structured continuum. The basic laws of motion are presented and several constitutive relations are derived. The special case of elastic porous media is considered in detail and the basic field equations are derived and the possible application of the results to soil dynamics is pointed out. The theory of the flow of granular media is also considered and basic equations of motion are derived where the results of Goodman and Cowin are recovered. The viscoplastic flow of porous media is studied and the possible application to soil mechanics is also discussed.  相似文献

A geometrically exact mechanical model for the overall dynamics of elastic isotropic rotating blades is proposed. The mechanical formulation is based on the special Cosserat theory of rods which includes all geometric terms in the kinematics and in the balance laws without any restriction on the geometry of deformation besides the enforcement of the local rigidity of the blade cross sections. All apparent forces acting on the blade moving in a rotating frame are accounted for in exact form. The role of internal kinematic constraints such as the unshearability of the slender blades is discussed. The Taylor expansion of the governing equations obtained via an Updated Lagrangian formulation is then employed to obtain the linearized perturbed form about the prestressed configuration under the centrifugal forces. By applying the Galerkin approach to the linearized equations of motion, the linear eigenvalue problem is solved to yield the frequencies and mode shapes. In particular, the natural frequencies of unshearable blades including coupling between flapping, lagging, axial and torsional components are investigated. The angular speeds at which internal resonances may arise due to specific ratios between the frequencies of different modes are determined thus shedding light onto the overall modal couplings in rotating beam structures depending on the angular speed regime. The averaged systems of hydrodynamic equations for a structured medium in the Lagrangian and the Eulerian coordinates are discussed. In the general case, the equations cannot be reduced to the average hydrodynamic terms. Under propagation of long waves in media with structure, the non-linear effects appear and they are analyzed in the framework of the asymptotic averaged model. The heterogeneity in a medium structure always increases the non-linear effects for the long-wave perturbations. A new method for diagnostics of the properties of medium components by long non-linear waves is suggested (inverse problem). The mass contents of components in the media can be determined by this diagnostic method.  相似文献

Surface-bonded piezoelectric actuators can be used to generate elastic waves for monitoring damages of composite materials. This paper provides an analytical and numerical study to simulate wave propagation in an anisotropic medium induced by surface-bonded piezocermic actuators under high-frequency electric loads. Based on a one-dimensional actuator model, the dynamic load transfer between a piezoceramic actuator and an anisotropic elastic medium under in-plane mechanical and electrical loading is obtained. The wave propagation induced by the surface-bonded actuator is also studied in detail by using Fourier transform technique and solving the resulting integral equations in terms of the interfacial shear stress. Typical examples are provided to show effects of the geometry, the material combination, the loading frequency and the material anisotropy of the composite upon the load transfer and the resulting wave propagation.  相似文献

对化学驱动的连续介质化学-力学耦合系统进行研究,从热力学定律和化学势角度出发,推导了等温过程的化学-力学耦合本构关系和控制方程,利用变分方法建立了化学-力学耦合系统的能量泛函,得到化学-力学耦合控制方程的等效积分形式和相应的有限元列式. 结合算例,对连续介质的化学-力学耦合行为进行了数值计算,数值结果反映了化学与力学系统的相互耦合作用,即浓度变化能引起介质的变形,同样力学作用也能引起浓度重分布. 从全新的角度建立了描述连续介质的化学-力学耦合行为的基本理论和数值方法,能够较好地反映一类连续介质的化学-力学耦合行为.   相似文献

In accordance with the Kirchhoff analogy, the equilibrium equations of an elastic thread on a plane are equivalent to the equations of motion of a simple pendulum. This analogy is generalized to the case when the thread is situated on a smooth curved surface. The equilibrium equations for the threads in the general case and in the particular cases of flat, cylindrical, and spherical surfaces are derived. For these surfaces the Kirchhoff analogy is generalized to the case of a simple pendulum in an additional force field. There are also considered the electromagnetic and nonholonomic analogies for the equilibrium equations of an elastic thread.  相似文献

Starting with the governing equations in terms of displacements of 3D elastic media, the solutions to displacement components and their first derivatives are obtained by the application of a double Fourier transform and an order reduction method based on the Cayley-Hamilton theorem. Combining the solutions and the constitutive equations which connect the displacements and stresses, the transfer matrix of a single soil layer is acquired. Then, the state space solution to multilayered elastic soils is further obtained by introducing the boundary conditions and continuity conditions between adjacent soil layers. The numerical analysis based on the present theory is carried out, and the vertical displacements of multilayered foundation with a weak and a hard underlying stratums are compared and discussed.  相似文献
