The optical properties of the Ga0.75In0.25Se crystals have been investigated by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 380–1100 nm. The analysis of the results performed at room temperature revealed the presence of optical indirect transtions with band gap energy of 1.89 eV. The variation of the band gap energy as a function of temperature was also studied in the temperature range of 10–300 K. The rate of change of band gap energy (γ = –6.2 × 10–4 eV/K) and absolute zero value of the band gap (Egi(0) = 2.01 eV) were reported. The wavelength dependence of the refractive index was analyzed using Wemple and DiDomenico, Sellmeier and Cauchy models to find the oscillator energy, dispersion energy, oscillator strength and zero‐frequency refractive index values. Polycrystalline β ‐GaSe thin films were obtained by the thermal evaporation of GaSe crystals onto glass substrates kept at 300 °C under a pressure of 10–5 Torr. The transmittance and reflectance of these films was measured in the incident photon energy range of 1.1–3.70 eV. The absorption coefficient spectral analysis in the sharp absorption region revealed a direct allowed transitions band gap of 1.83 eV. The data analysis allowed the identification of the dispersive optical parameters by calculating the refractive index in the wavelength region of 620–1100 nm. In addition, the photocurrent of the samples was studied as function of incident illumination‐intensity and temperature. The photocurrent is found to exhibit sublinear and supralinear character above and below 270 K, respectively. The temperature dependent photocurrent data analysis allowed the calculation of photocurrent activation energies as 603, 119 and 45 meV being dominant in the temperature regions of 250–300 K, 180–240 K and 80‐160 K, respectively. The optical properties of Tl2InGaSe4 layered single crystals have been studied through the transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 500‐1100 nm. The analysis of room temperature absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 1.86 and 2.05 eV, respectively. Transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10‐300 K revealed that the rate of change of the indirect band gap with temperature is γ = – 4.4 × 10‐4 eV/K. The absolute zero value of the band gap energy was obtained as Egi(0) = 1.95 eV. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the single oscillator model. The refractive index dispersion parameters: oscillator wavelength and strength were found to be 2.53 × 10–7 m and 9.64 × 1013 m–2, respectively. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. This paper reports the measurement of temperature and concentration dependences of the refractive index of hen‐egg‐white lysozyme (HEWL) solution, and the temperature dependence of refractive index of the quartz container, which are indispensable for the efforts to measure HEWL concentration of the solution during the processes like crystal growth and dissolution using interferometer. As all of these dependences might be different under different observation wavelengths, temperatures and solution compositions, it is necessary to measure them for specific conditions. In this paper, the desired dependences were measured without knowing the actual value of the refractive index. The measurement method was introduced and the measurement experiments were undertaken at wavelength 780 nm. 采用高温坩埚下降法生长La2 Ti2 O7晶体,获得的晶体尺寸约为18 mm× 12 mm× 10 mm,其表面出现了一系列(004)解理面.X射线双摇摆曲线表明该晶体具有良好的结晶质量.透过光谱显示退火后的La2 Ti2 O7晶体在可见光范围内是透明的,当波长在800 nm左右时,透过率将显著下降.La2 Ti2 O7晶体的吸收边出现在500 nm波长附近.光折射指数分析表明退火La2 Ti2 O7晶体具有高的折射率.折射率色散方程确定为n2(λ) =4.61643 +0.16198/(λ2-0.01547) -0.47201λ2,利用该公式可计算出300~1680 nm范围内任意波长下的折射指数n值.  相似文献

本文报道了钒酸钇(YVO4)晶体主折射率及其温度系数的测量,用自准直法在20~140℃温度范围内测量了这种晶体在488nm、632.8nm、1079.5nm和1341.4nm波长上的折射率,并得到了上述波长上的折射率温度系数和测量温度范围内修正的Sellmeier方程的常数,用得到的Sellmeier常数计算了1064nm波长下 YVO4晶体的双折射率(Δn),计算的Δn=0.2082。结果与文献报道的值相当吻合。  相似文献

CdS thin films of varying thicknesses were deposited on cleaned glass substrates at room temperature by thermal evaporation technique in a vacuum of about 2 x 10‐5 torr. UV‐VIS spectra of the films were studied using the optical transmittance measurements which were taken in the spectral region from 300 nm to 1100 nm. The absorbance and reflectance spectra of the films in the UV‐VIS region were also studied. Optical constants such as optical band gap, extinction coefficient, refractive index, optical conductivity and complex dielectric constant were evaluated from these spectra. All the films were found to exhibit high transmittance (∼ 60 ‐ 93 %), low absorbance and low reflectance in the visible/near infrared region from ∼ 500 nm to 1100 nm. The optical band gap energy was found to be in the range 2.28 – 2.53 eV. All the films annealed at 300°C for 4 hours in vacuum (∼ 10‐2 torr) showed a decrease in the optical transmittance with its absorption edge shifted towards the longer wavelength, leading to the result that the optical band gap decreases on annealing the films. Single crystals of L‐Arginine Fluoride (LAF) have been grown by the slow evaporation technique, and the crystalline perfection was studied by HRXRD. Optical absorption studies reveal the lower cut off wavelength (280 nm) and the band gap (5.1 eV). The dielectric constant and dielectric loss have been measured as a function of frequency (42 Hz–5 MHz) and temperature (307‐368K) and the activation energy is 77 μeV. The thermal transport properties such as thermal conductivity (0.88 ± 0.02 W/mK) and specific heat capacity (482±24 J/kg/K) have been estimated by the photopyroelectric technique. The nonlinear refractive index n2, is found to be of the order of 10−13 cm2/W by the Z‐scan technique.  相似文献

The optical properties of TlInS2xSe2(1‐x)mixed crystals (0.25 ≤ x ≤ 1) have been studied at room temperature through the transmittance and reflectivity measurements in the wavelength range of 400–1100 nm. The spectral dependence of the refractive index for all compositions of studied crystals were obtained. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the Wemple–DiDomenico single‐effective‐oscillator model. High quality magnesium-doped potassium lithium niobate (designated as KLN:Mg) single crystal was grown for the first time. The tetragonal tungsten bronze structure of the Mg:KLN crystal was determined by X-ray powder diffraction, in which the lattice parameters were A=1.262nm and C=0.398nm. High temperature X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the expansion of the lattice with increasing temperature was less than that of the undoped crystal. The transmittance of the as-grown crystal was measured. It increased by 80% from the cutoff wavelength 380nm to 450nm. The transmittance for 404nm was 50%, which is larger than that of the undoped crystals. The frequency-doubling property of KLN crystal was analyzed. Preliminary frequency doubling experiments showed that the crystal could generate blue light of 404nm through noncritical phase matching (NCPM) second harmonic generation (SHG) using a 808nm diode laser at room temperature.  相似文献

The temperature dependencies (10‐300 K) of seven Raman‐active mode frequencies in layered semiconductor gallium telluride have been measured in the frequency range from 25 to 300 cm‐1. Softening and broadening of the optical phonon lines are observed with increasing temperature. Comparison between the experimental data and theories of the shift of the phonon lines during heating of the crystal showed that the experimental dependencies can be explained by contributions from thermal expansion and lattice anharmonicity. Lattice anharmonicity is determined to be due to threephonon processes.  相似文献

Sb2S3 amorphous thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation of corresponding powder on thoroughly cleaned glass substrates held at temperature in the range 300‐473 K. X‐ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy have been used to order to identify the structure and morphology of surface thin films. The optical constants of the deposition films were obtained from the analysis of the experimental recorded transmission data over the wavelength range 400‐1400 nm. An analysis of the absorption coefficient values revealed an optical indirect transition with the estimation of the corresponding band gap values. The thermal conductivities of Nd:YAG, M(Y,Gd)VO4 crystals were measured at 298 K. The value of Nd:GdVO4 crystal along <001> direction was 11.4 W/mK, which was higher than that of YAG crystal measured to be 10.7 W/mK. The principal refractive indices of Nd:GdVO4 crystal in the temperature range from 20 °C to 170 °C were determined by auto‐collimation method. Based on the measured values of refractive indices, the Sellmeier equation and expression of temperature dependence of refractive indices have been obtained. The measured results show that the birefringence Δn is 0.22007 at 20 °C and temperature coefficient of birefringence is 4.33 × 10−6/°C for 1.064 μm. Single crystal of 8‐hydroxyquinoline (8HQ) having chemical formula C9H7NO, an organic nonlinear optical (NLO) material has been successfully grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. The crystal system has been confirmed from the powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis. The crystalline perfection was evaluated by high resolution X‐ray diffractometry (HRXRD). From this analysis we found that the quality of the crystal is quite good. However, a very low angle (tilt angle 14 arc sec) boundary was observed which might be due to entrapping of solvent molecules in the crystal during growth. Its optical behavior has been examined by UV‐Vis. analysis, which shows the absence of absorbance between the wavelengths ranging from 400 to 1200 nm. From the thermal analysis it was observed that the material exhibits single sharp weight loss starting at 113°C without any degradation. Thermal expansion of the monoclinic nonlinear optical crystal BiB3O6 (bismuth triborate) was measured by dilatometry within the temperature range from 173 K to 573 K using single crystal samples of dimensions ∼7 x 7 x 8 mm3. The four independent tensor coefficients are given and the calculated loci of zero thermal expansion of BiB3O6 are related to the loci of phase matching for second harmonic generation. Characteristic features of the crystal structure are taken to discuss the marked anisotropy of thermal expansion of BiB3O6.  相似文献

Single crystals of ferroelectric succinic acid (SA) with very high degree of transparency were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis reveals that the crystal belongs to monoclinic system with the space group P21/c. Some physical parameters have been determined for grown crystal. The optical absorption study reveals the transparency of the crystal in the entire visible region and the cut off wave length was found to be 240 nm. The optical band gap is found to be 3.75 eV. The dependence of extinction coefficient (k) and refractive index (n) on the wavelength have also been reported. The presence of functional groups was determined qualitatively by using Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR) from which force constant has been calculated. The dielectric constant was also studied as a function of frequency at room temperature and electrical conductivity has been calculated from the Cole‐Cole plot. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 山大晶体所采用提拉法生长出新晶体铌酸钙钡.本文通过分光光度计和椭偏光谱仪分别测得室温下铌酸钙钡的透射率和折射率随波长的变化关系.透射率光谱显示该晶体在波长大于380nm的可见光谱区是透明的.色散关系表明此材料的双折射较大,在短波区域寻常光及非常光的折射率之差约为0.12.此外,由透射率曲线计算了可见光范围内铌酸钙钡的吸收系数.从而得到吸收系数的平方根与光子能量的函数关系曲线.通过对该曲线的研究,发现铌酸钙钡晶体吸收边以下对应的跃迁为间接跃迁,计算出间接跃迁的禁带宽度Eg以及声子能量Ep.  相似文献

稀土离子掺杂氟化物晶体具有宽透光波段高透过率、低声子能量、长荧光寿命、负热光系数等优良特性,可以产生从紫外到中红外波段激光,是一类重要的激光增益介质。本文综述了本团队在稀土离子掺杂LiLuF4、LiYF4、BaY2F8、LaF3、PbF2、CeF3等氟化物晶体生长、光学和激光性能等方面的研究进展,总结了稀土离子共掺敏化、退激活、能级耦合调控以及多离子发光等方面的研究工作,展望了稀土离子掺杂氟化物激光晶体的研究发展趋势。  相似文献

A new quadratic nonlinear optical crystal, 2‐amino‐3‐nitropyridinium trichloroacetate (2A3NPTCA), was synthesized and the single crystals were grown by slow evaporation method at room temperature. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction and powder X‐ray diffraction experiments were carried out in order to confirm the structure and crystalline nature of 2A3NPTCA crystal. The chemical bonding and various functional groups present in the 2A3NPTCA were identified from FT‐IR spectrum. The UV–visible–NIR transmission spectrum shows that it is suitable for frequency‐converting in the wavelength region of 431–1200 nm. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were carried out to characterize the thermal behaviors of the grown crystals. Kurtz and Perry powder method for second harmonic generation (SHG) measurements demonstrate that 2A3NPTCA is a phase matching material and its nonlinear optical efficiency is two times that of KDP. All the above results suggest that 2A3NPTCA is a potential candidate of NLO material.  相似文献

A Nd‐doped lutetium orthovanadate Nd:LuVO4 crystal has been grown using a modified Czochralski method. The thermal properties of this crystal have been studied by measuring the thermal expansion, specific heat and thermal diffusivity. The thermal expansion coefficients are α11 = 1.7 × 10‐6, α22 = 1.5 × 10‐6 and α33 = 9.1 × 10‐6/K in the temperature range of 298–573 K along the three respective crystallographic axes. The specific heat is almost linear and increases from 0.442 to 0.498 Jg‐1K‐1 in the measured temperature range. The thermal diffusivity is anisotropic and decreases with increasing temperature from 295 to 548 K. At room temperature the calculated thermal conductivities κ11 and κ33 are 7.96 and 9.77 Wm‐1K‐1, respectively.
