A dedicated test of the perturbative QCD NLO parton evolution in the very small-x region is performed. We find a good agreement with recent precision HERA data for F 2 p(x,Q 2), as well as with the present determination of the curvature of F 2 p. Characteristically, perturbative QCD evolutions result in a positive curvature which increases as x decreases. Future precision measurements in the very small x-region, x < 10-4, could provide a sensitive test of the range of validity of perturbative QCD.Received: 6 December 2004, Revised: 1 February 2005, Published online: 9 March 2005  相似文献

Quark mass effects are analyzed at high Q2 in the current fragmentation region of DIS. It is found that the linear combination F 2 -2.75F c 2 scales at large Q2 and small x. We obtained a lower bound for the ratio F c 2/F 2 which lies very close to the data from HERA. A new approach to global QCD analysis is developed. The main ingredients are two QCD-based evolution equations. The first one is the Balitsky-Kovchegov non-linear equation, which sums higher twists while preserving unitarity. The second equation is linear and it is responsible for the correct short distance behavior of the theory, namely it includes the DGLAP kernel. Our approach allows for extrapolation of the parton distributions to the very high energies available at the LHC as well as very low photon virtualities, . All existing low x data on the F2 structure function are reproduced using two fitting parameters, the other parameters were taken as constants. The result is . Analyzing the parameter at very low x and Q2 well below we find -0.1. This is a result which agrees with the “soft pomeron” intercept without involving soft physics. The low-x data of the structure function F 2 measured by the collaborations H1 and ZEUS are compared with the prediction of the DGLAP equations. A new method of comparing data and theory is presented. We study the accuracy of the Regge behavior of the gluon distribution function for an approximate relation that is frequently used to extract the logarithmic slopes of the structure function from the gluon distribution at small x. We show that the Regge behavior analysis results are comparable with HERA data and are also better than other methods that expand the gluon density at distinct points of expansion. We also show that for Q 2 = 22.4 GeV2, the x dependence of the data is well described by gluon shadowing corrections to the GLR-MQ equation. The resulting analytic expression allows us to predict the logarithmic derivative ∂F 2(x, Q 2)/∂lnQ 2 and to compare the results with the H1 data and a QCD analysis fit with the MRST parameterization input.  相似文献

Triple differential dijet cross sections in interactions are presented in the region of photon virtualities 2 < Q 2 < 80 GeV2, inelasticities 0.1 < y < 0.85, jet transverse energies E * T 1 > 7 GeV, E * T 2 > 5 GeV, and pseudorapidities . The measurements are made in the centre-of-mass frame, using an integrated luminosity of 57 pb-1. The data are compared with NLO QCD calculations and LO Monte Carlo programs with and without a resolved virtual photon contribution. NLO QCD calculations fail to describe the region of low Q 2 and low jet transverse energies, in contrast to a LO Monte Carlo generator which includes direct and resolved photon interactions with both transversely and longitudinally polarised photons. Doubly-charged scalars, predicted in many models having exotic Higgs rep-resentations, can in general have lepton-number violating (LFV) couplings. We show that by using an associated monoenergetic final state photon seen at a future linear e e collider, we can have a clear and distinct signature for a doubly-charged resonance. The strength of the ΔL = 2 coupling can also be probed quite effectively as a function of the recoil mass of the doubly-charged scalar.   相似文献

In this paper we report the fabrication and superconducting properties of GdO1−x F x FeAs. It was found that when x is equal to 0.17, GdO0.83F0.17FeAs is a superconductor with the onset transition temperature T con ≈ 36.6 K. Resistivity anomaly near 130 K was observed for all samples up to x = 0.17, and such a phenomenon is similar to that of LaO1−x F x FeAs. Hall coefficient indicates that GdO1−x F x FeAs is conducted by electron-like charge carriers. The prospects of utilizing the strangeness production reaction γdK + Λn for the determination of the Λn low-energy scattering parameters are investigated. The spin observables that need to be measured in order to isolate the Λn singlet (1 S 0) and triplet (3 S 1) states are identified. Possible kinematical regions where the extraction of the Λn scattering lengths might be feasible are discussed.  相似文献

One of the well-known effects of the asymptotic freedom is splitting of the leading-log BFKL pomeron into a series of isolated poles in complex angular momentum plane. Following our earlier works we explore the phenomenological consequences of the emerging BFKL-Regge factorized expansion for the small-x charm (F 2 c ) and beauty (F 2 b ) structure functions of the proton. As we found earlier, the colordipole approach to the BFKL dynamics predicts uniquely decoupling of subleading hard BFKL exchanges from F 2 c at moderately large Q 2. We predicted precocious BFKL asymptotics of F 2 c (x,Q 2) with intercept of the rightmost BFKL pole α P(0) − 1 = ΔP ≈ 0.4. High-energy open beauty photo- and electroproduction probes the vacuum exchange at much smaller distances and detects significant corrections to the BFKL asymptotics coming from the subleading vacuum poles. In view of the accumulation of the experimental data on small −x F 2 c and F 2 b we extended our early predictions to the kinematical domain covered by new HERA measurements. Our structure functions obtained in 1999 agree well with the determination of both F 2 c and F 2 b by the H1 published in 2006 but contradict very recent (2008, preliminary)H1 results on F 2 b . We present also comparison of our early predictions for the longitudinal structure function F L with recent H1 data (2008) taken at very low Bjorken x. We comment on the electromagnetic corrections to the Okun-Pomeranchuk theorem.  相似文献

The nuclear effects in ρ 0-meson neutrino production are investigated using the data obtained with the SKAT bubble chamber. The nuclear-medium influence on the ρ 0 total yield and inclusive distributions on z = E ρ /v and Feynman x F variable is found to be approximately the same as for pions. It is shown that these distributions with increasing A tend to shift toward smaller values of z and x F, thus indicating an increasing role of secondary intranuclear interactions. The predictions of a simple model incorporating the latter are found to be in qualitative agreement with experimental data. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The measurability of generation mixing is studied on pair production of sneutrinos in e + e - collisions and their subsequent decays into two different charged leptons e and μ with two lighter charginos. The analyses are made systematically in a general framework of the supersymmetric extension of the standard model. The production and decay process depends on the parameters of the chargino sector as well as those of the sneutrino sector. Although generation-changing interactions are severely constrained by radiative charged-lepton decays, sizable regions in the parameter space could still be explored at e + e - colliders in the near future. We revisit the determination of α S (m τ 2) using a fit to inclusive τ hadronic spectral moments in light of (1) the recent calculation of the fourth-order perturbative coefficient K 4 in the expansion of the Adler function, (2) new precision measurements from BABAR of e+e annihilation cross sections, which decrease the uncertainty in the separation of vector and axial-vector spectral functions, and (3) improved results from BABAR and Belle on τ branching fractions involving kaons. We estimate that the fourth-order perturbative prediction reduces the theoretical uncertainty, introduced by the truncation of the series, by 20% with respect to earlier determinations. We discuss to some detail the perturbative prediction of two different methods: fixed-order perturbation theory (FOPT) and contour-improved perturbative theory (CIPT). The corresponding theoretical uncertainties are studied at the τ and Z mass scales. The CIPT method is found to be more stable with respect to the missing higher order contributions and to renormalization scale variations. It is also shown that FOPT suffers from convergence problems along the complex integration contour. Nonperturbative contributions extracted from the most inclusive fit are small, in agreement with earlier determinations. Systematic effects from quark-hadron duality violation are estimated with simple models and found to be within the quoted systematic errors. The fit based on CIPT gives α S (m τ 2)=0.344±0.005±0.007, where the first error is experimental and the second theoretical. After evolution to M Z we obtain α S (M Z 2)=0.1212±0.0005±0.0008±0.0005, where the errors are respectively experimental, theoretical and due to the evolution. The result is in agreement with the corresponding N3LO value derived from essentially the Z width in the global electroweak fit. The α S (M Z 2) determination from τ decays is the most precise one to date.  相似文献

Some characteristic features of deep inelastic scattering are reviewed. In particular, the Q 2 dependence of structure functions is described in detail especially in the region of small values of the Bjorken variable x. The technique of calculation of the coefficient functions of the Wilson expansion is also discussed. The importance of the use of a scheme-independent perturbation theory in the kinematical regions in which the nonleading correction to observables is numerically large is emphasized.  相似文献

The heavy-fermion metal CePd1−x Rh x can be tuned from ferromagnetism at x = 0 to the nonmagnetic state at some critical concentration x c . The non-Fermi liquid behavior (NFL) at xx c is recognized by the power-law dependence of the specific heat C(T) given by the electronic contribution susceptibility X(T) and volume expansion coefficient α(T) at low temperatures: C/TX(T) ∝ α(T)/T∝ 1/ √T. We also demonstrate that the behavior of the normalized effective mass M N * observed in CePd1−x Rh x at x ≃ 0.8 agrees with that of M N * observed in paramagnetic CeRu2Si2 and conclude that these alloys exhibit the universal NFL thermodynamic behavior at their quantum critical points. We show that the NFL behavior of CePd1−x Rh x can be accounted for within the frameworks of the quasiparticle picture and fermion condensation quantum phase transition, while this alloy exhibits a universal thermodynamic NFL behavior that is independent of the characteristic features of the given alloy such as its lattice structure, magnetic ground state, dimension, etc. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

A two-photon impurity absorption coefficient of the “quantum dot — D(−)-center” complexes synthesized in a transparent dielectric matrix is calculated within the model of zero-radius potential. The evolution of spectral dependence of the absorption coefficient of the nanoheterostructure based on semiconductor CdS x Se 1−x glasses is studied versus the average quantum-dot radius. We investigate the Hawking radiation and greybody factor for a scalar field on the background of the black holes in the theory of the non-minimal R β F 2-coupled electromagnetic fields to gravity. For different asymptotic structures caused by the real power number β, we find that the influences of the real power number on the Hawking radiation and greybody factor are different.
