A one-sided Tauberian theorem for the Borel summability method

We establish a quantitative version of Vijayaraghavan's classical result and use it to give a short proof of the known theorem that a real sequence (s_n) which is summable by the Borel method, and which satisfies the one-sided Tauberian condition that is bounded below must be convergent.     

A note on ∣A∣k summability factors of infinite series

In this note we give an improvement to a recent result obtained by Savas and Rhoade concerning ∣A∣_k summability of infinite series.     

A bilinear version of Orlicz-Pettis theorem

Given three Banach spaces X, Y and Z and a bounded bilinear map , a sequence x=n(xn)⊆X is called B-absolutely summable if is finite for any y∈Y. Connections of this space with are presented. A sequence x=n(xn)⊆X is called B-unconditionally summable if is finite for any y∈Y and z^∗∈Z^∗ and for any M⊆N there exists xM∈X for which _∑n∈M〈B(xn,y),z^∗〉=〈B(xM,y),z^∗〉 for all y∈Y and z^∗∈Z^∗. A bilinear version of Orlicz-Pettis theorem is given in this setting and some applications are presented.     

A note on absolute weighted mean summability factors

In this paper we have proved a main theorem concerning the | $\bar N$ , p _n; δ |_k summability methods, which generalizes a result of Bor and Özarslan [3].     

A note on two absolute summability methods

In this paper we have established a relation between |R,p _n ;δ|_k and |R,q _n ;δ|_k summability methods which generalizes the results of Bor [1] and Bosanquet [2].     

Matrix characterization of A-statistical convergence

The main objective of the paper is to characterize multipliers of summability fields of regular methods, while relaxing the usual boundedness condition. For this purpose we use the sequence spaces of A-bounded sequences and A-uniformly integrable sequences. Among the main results, it is shown that the space of multipliers is closely related to the space of A-statistically convergent sequences and that A-statistical convergence over ?_∞ is equivalent to a regular matrix method. This observation eliminates the need for separate proofs of several A-statistical convergence results.     

On general summability factor theorem of infinite series

A lower triangular matrix with nonzero principal diagonal entries is called a triangle. In this paper we obtain the sufficient conditions for ∑a_nλ_n to be summable ∣A∣_k whenever ∑a_n is summable ∣T∣_k for a triangle T.     

A general theorem characterizing some absolute summability methods

A general theorem is given which gives the necessary and sufficient conditions satisfied by a sequence (ε_n) in order to have the series Σa _n ε _n summable to |A| whenever Σa _n is summable to |A| for some summability methodA.     

Weakly Compact and Absolutely Summing Polynomials

This paper shows that, contrary to the case of linear operators, absolutely summing homogeneous polynomials are not always weakly compact. It is also shown that, regardless of the infinite dimensional Banach space E and the positive integer n, there exists an n-homogeneous polynomial P from E to E that plays the role of the identity operator in the sense that P is neither compact nor absolutely r-summing for any r, and P is weakly compact if and only if E is reflexive.     

Approximation of integrable functions by general linear operators of their fourier series

The pointwise estimates of the deviation T n,A,B f (·) f (·) in terms of moduli of continuity .f and w.f there are proved. Analogical results on norm approximation with remarks and corollaries are also given. In the results there are used the essentially weaker conditions than these in [Mittal, M. L.: J. Math. Anal. Appl., 220, 434-450 (1998) Theorem 1, p. 437].

A note on absolute summability factors

In this paper, by using an almost increasing and δ-quasi-monotone sequence, a general theorem on φ- | C, α | _k summability factors, which generalizes a result of Bor [3] on φ |C, 1| _k summability factors, has been proved under weaker and more general conditions.     

On lacunary statistical convergence of order α

In this article, we introduce the concept of lacunary statistical convergence of order α of real number sequences and give some inclusion relations between the sets of lacunary statistical convergence of order α and strong N_θ^α(p)-summability. Furthermore, some relations between the spaces N_θ^αS_θ^α are examined.     

An application of Chen’s theorem to convergence of Fourier multiplier transforms

Let V be a star shaped region. In 2006, Colzani, Meaney and Prestini proved that if function f satisfies some condition, then the multiplier transform with the characteristic function of tV as the multiplier tends to f almost everywhere, when t goes to∞. In this paper we use a Theorem established by K.K.Chen to show that if we change their multiplier, then the condition on f can be weakened.     

λ-STATISTICAL CONVERGENCE OF ORDER α

In this paper,we introduce the concept of λ-statistical convergence of order α.Also some relations between the λ-statistical convergence of order α and strong(V,λ)-summability of order α are given.     

On absolute summability factors of infinite series

In this paper using δ-quasi-monotone sequences a theorem on summability factors of infinite series, which generalizes a theorem of Bor [4] on summability factors of infinite series, is proved. Also, in the special case this theorem includes a result of Mazhar [8] on |C, 1|_k summability factors.     

Factors for ¦N,pn;δ¦k summability of Fourier series

In this paper two theorems on | N,p_n;δ|_k summability factors, which generalize the results of Bor [4] on | N,p_n|k summability factors, have been proved.     

On Tauberian theorems for (A)(C, α) summability method

In this paper we introduce some Tauberian conditions for the (A)(C, α) summability method. These results extend and generalize some of the classical Tauberian theorems for the Abel summability method.     

On some ‘duality’ of the Nikodym property and the Hahn property

Drewnowski and Paúl proved in [L. Drewnowski, P.J. Paúl, The Nikodým property for ideals of sets defined by matrix summability methods, Rev. R. Acad. Cienc. Exactas Fís. Nat. (Esp.) 94 (2000) 485-503] that for any strongly nonatomic submeasure η on the power set P(N) of N the ideal Z(η)={N∈P(N)|η(N)=0} has the Nikodym property (NP); in particular, this result applies to densities dA defined by strongly regular matrices A. Grahame Bennett and the authors stated in [G. Bennett, J. Boos, T. Leiger, Sequences of 0's and 1's, Studia Math. 149 (2002) 75-99] that the strong null domain ₀|A| of any strongly regular matrix A has the Hahn property (HP). Moreover, Stuart and Abraham [C.E. Stuart, P. Abraham, Generalizations of the Nikodym boundedness and Vitali-Hahn-Saks theorems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 300 (2) (2004) 351-361] pointed out that the said results are in some sense dual and that the last one follows from the first one by considering the density dA (defined by A) as submeasure on P(N) and the ideal Z(dA) as well by identifying P(N) with the set χ of sequences of 0's and 1's. In this paper we aim at a better understanding of the intimated duality and at a characterization of those members of special classes of matrices A such that Z(dA) has NP (equivalently, ₀|A| has HP).
