This is a continuation of our investigation of classes of sequences of positive real numbers satisfying some selection principles as well as having certain game-theoretic properties. Using Hayashi’s inequality, an Iyengar type inequality for functions with bounded second derivative is obtained. This result improves a similar result from [N. Elezović, J. Pečarić, Steffensen’s inequality and estimates of error in trapezoidal rule, Appl. Math. Lett. 11 (6) (1998) 63–69] and, for some classes of functions, the result from [X.L. We consider the problem of instability of equilibrium states of scleronomic nonholonomic systems moving in a stationary field of conservative and circulatory forces. The applied methodology is based on the existence of solutions of differential equations of motion which asymptotically tend to the equilibrium state of the system. It is assumed that the forces in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium position can be presented in the form of the sum of two components, the first one being a homogeneous function of the position with the positive degree of homogeneity; the second one being infinitely small in comparison to the first one. The results obtained, which partially generalize results from [S.D. Taliaferro, Instability of an equilibrium in a potential field, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 109 (2) (1990) 183–194; V.A. Vujičić, V.V. Kozlov, Lyapunov’s stability with respect to given state functions, J. Appl. Math. Mech. 55 (4) 9 (1991) 442–445; D.R. In this paper we extend the idea of usual Cauchy condition of nets to I-Cauchy condition by using the concept of ideals. This Cauchy condition arises naturally from the notion of I-convergence of nets introduced by Lahiri and Das (2008). As the underlying structure for the whole study we take a uniform space so that our notion and results extend the idea of statistical Cauchy sequences very recently introduced in uniform spaces by Di Maio and Ko?inac (2008). In particular we try to give partial answers to an open problem posed by Di Maio and Ko?inac and examine the relationship between this new Cauchy condition and usual completeness of a uniform space.  相似文献

We present, as a simpler alternative for the results of [P. Ko?cielniak, On genericity of shadowing and periodic shadowing property, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 310 (2005) 188-196; P. Ko?cielniak, M. Mazur, On C0 genericity of various shadowing properties, Discrete Contin. Dynam. Syst. 12 (2005) 523-530], an elementary proof of C0 genericity of the periodic shadowing property. Whereas the Gerlits-Nagy γ property is strictly weaker than the Galvin-Miller strong γ property, the corresponding strong notions for the Menger, Hurewicz, Rothberger, Gerlits-Nagy (∗), Arkhangel'ski?ˇ and Sakai properties are equivalent to the original ones. The main result is that almost each of these properties admits the game theoretic characterization suggested by the stronger notion. We also solve a related problem of Ko?inac and Scheepers, and answer a question of Iliadis.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the main characteristics of the macroscopic model for pedestrian flows introduced in [R.M. Colombo, M.D. Rosini, Pedestrian flows and non-classical shocks, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 28 (13) (2005) 1553-1567] and recently sperimentally verified in [D. Helbing, A. Johansson, H.Z. Al-Abideen, Dynamics of crowd disasters: An empirical study, Phys. Rev. E (Statistical, Nonlinear, and Soft Matter Physics) 75 (4) (2007) 046109]. After a detailed study of all the possible wave interactions, we prove the existence of a weighted total variation that does not increase after any interaction. This is the main ingredient used in [R.M. Colombo, M.D. Rosini, Existence of nonclassical Cauchy problem modeling pedestrian flows, technical report, Brescia Department of Mathematics, 2008] to tackle the Cauchy problem through wave front tracking, see [A. Bressan, Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws. The One-Dimensional Cauchy Problem, Oxford Lecture Ser. Math. Appl., vol. 20, Oxford Univ. Press, Oxford, 2000, The one-dimensional Cauchy problem; A. Bressan, The front tracking method for systems of conservation laws, in: C.M. Dafermos, E. Feireisl (Eds.), Handbook of Differential Equations; Evolutionary Equations, vol. 1, Elsevier, 2004, pp. 87-168; R.M. Colombo, Wave front tracking in systems of conservation laws, Appl. Math. 49 (6) (2004) 501-537]. From the mathematical point of view, this model is one of the few examples of conservation laws in which nonclassical solutions have a physical motivation, see [P.G. Lefloch, Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws, Lectures Math. In this paper, we will introduce the generalized operator equilibrium problem and generalized operator quasi-equilibrium problem which generalize the operator equilibrium problem due to Kazmi and Raouf [K.R. Kazmi, A. Raouf, A class of operator equilibrium problems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 308 (2005) 554-564] into multi-valued and quasi-equilibrium problems. Using a Fan-Browder type fixed point theorem in [S. Park, Foundations of the KKM theory via coincidences of composites of upper semicontinuous maps, J. Korean Math. Soc. 31 (1994) 493-519] and an existence theorem of equilibrium for 1-person game in [X.-P. Ding, W.K. Kim, K.-K. Tan, Equilibria of non-compact generalized games with L-majorized preferences, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 164 (1992) 508-517] as basic tools, we prove new existence theorems on generalized operator equilibrium problem and generalized operator quasi-equilibrium problem which includes operator equilibrium problems.  相似文献

We study realcompactness in the classes of submaximal and maximal spaces. It is shown that a normal submaximal space of cardinality less than the first measurable is realcompact. ZFC examples of submaximal not realcompact and maximal not realcompact spaces are constructed. These examples answer questions posed in [O.T. Alas, M. Sanchis, M.G. Tka?enko, V.V. Tkachuk, R.G. Wilson, Irresolvable and submaximal spaces: homogeneity versus σ-discreteness and new ZFC examples, Topology Appl. 107 (3) (2000) 259-273] and generalize some results from [D.P. Some common fixed point theorems due to Aamri and El Moutawakil [M. Aamri, D. El Moutawakil, Some new common fixed point theorems under strict contractive conditions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 270 (2002) 181-188] and Pant and Pant [R.P. Pant, V. Pant, Common fixed points under strict contractive conditions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 248 (2000) 327-332] proved for strict contractive mappings in metric spaces are extended to symmetric (semi-metric) spaces under tight conditions. In this paper, we proved a common fixed point theorem for weakly compatible mappings in symmetric spaces satisfying a contractive condition of integral type and a property (E.A) introduced in [M. In [M.R. Casali, Computing Matveev's complexity of non-orientable 3-manifolds via crystallization theory, Topology Appl. 144(1-3) (2004) 201-209], a graph-theoretical approach to Matveev's complexity computation is introduced, yielding the complete classification of closed non-orientable 3-manifolds up to complexity six. The present paper follows the same point-of view, making use of crystallization theory and related results (see [M. Ferri, Crystallisations of 2-fold branched coverings of S3, Proc. Amer. Math.
