In this article a stability result for the Falk model system is proven. The Falk model system describes the martensitic phase transitions in shape memory alloys. In our setting, the steady state is a nonlocal elliptic problem. We show the dynamical stability for the linearized stable critical point of the corresponding functional. Necessary conditions of optimality are derived for optimal control problems with pathwise state constraints, in which the dynamic constraint is modelled as a differential inclusion. The novel feature of the conditions is the unrestrictive nature of the hypotheses under which these conditions are shown to be valid. An Euler Lagrange type condition is obtained for problems where the multifunction associated with the dynamic constraint has values possibly unbounded, nonconvex sets and satisfies a mild `one-sided' Lipschitz continuity hypothesis. We recover as a special case the sharpest available necessary conditions for state constraint free problems proved in a recent paper by Ioffe. For problems where the multifunction is convex valued it is shown that the necessary conditions are still valid when the one-sided Lipschitz hypothesis is replaced by a milder, local hypothesis. A recent `dualization' theorem permits us to infer a strengthened form of the Hamiltonian inclusion from the Euler Lagrange condition. The necessary conditions for state constrained problems with convex valued multifunctions are derived under hypotheses on the dynamics which are significantly weaker than those invoked by Loewen and Rockafellar to achieve related necessary conditions for state constrained problems, and improve on available results in certain respects even when specialized to the state constraint free case.

Proofs make use of recent `decoupling' ideas of the authors, which reduce the optimization problem to one to which Pontryagin's maximum principle is applicable, and a refined penalization technique to deal with the dynamic constraint.

Necessary conditions are obtained for the general control problem with the minimizing are required to pass through intermediate-constraint manifolds. It is shown that this includes cases where the integrand or the region of admissibility changes at the constraint points. This research was partly sponsored by the Office of Naval Research under contract NONR-233(76).  相似文献

In this paper the sufficient conditions for optimality are obtained for problems with state constraints. These constraints may be active. It means that the adjoint function may have points of discontinuity or jumps. Similar results in the case of absolutely continuous adjoint function were given by the author in [1] and [2].  相似文献

Experimental results of shape memory alloys show a pronounced asymmetric behaviour between tension, compression and shear. For simulation of these effects in the constitutive equations different transformation strain tensors are introduced. These are related to the different variants for the multi-variant- and detwinned-martensite as a consequence of different stress states. In the framework of plasticity the concept of stress mode dependent weighting functions is applied in order to characterize the different stress states. Verification of the proposed methodology is succeeded for simulation of the pseudoelastic behaviour of shape memory alloys with different hardening characteristics in tension, compression and shear. This paper is concerned with necessary conditions for a general optimal control problem developed by Russak and Tan. It is shown that, in most cases, a further relation between the multipliers holds. This result is of interest in particular for the investigation of perturbations of the state constraint.  相似文献

In this Note, we prove that the identity matrix is an inner point of the quasiconvex hull Kqc of a compact set K?{X∈M3,3:detX=1} whenever Kqc contains a three-well configuration. This is in particular the case for the cubic to tetragonal and the cubic to orthorhombic phase transformations, and answers a question discussed in S. Optimality conditions are derived in the form of a maximum principle governing solutions to an optimal control problem which involves state constraints. The conditions, which apply in the absence of differentiability assumptions on the data, are stated in terms of Clarke's generalized Jacobians. Although not the most general available, the conditions are derived by a novel method: this involves removal of the state constraints by introduction of a penalty term and application of Ekeland's variational principle.  相似文献

The sufficient optimality conditions of Zeidan for optimal control problems (Refs. 1 and 2) are generalized such that they are applicable to problems with pure state-variable inequality constraints. We derive conditions which neither assume the concavity of the Hamiltonian nor the quasiconcavity of the constraints. Global as well as local optimality conditions are presented.  相似文献

We consider optimal control problems for distributed-parameter systems described by semilinear equations, with constraints on the control and on the state, and an exact pointwise target condition. As an application of a general theory of nonlinear programming problems in Banach spaces, a version of the Pontryagin maximum principle is obtained. This research was partly supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant DMS-92-21819.  相似文献

We prove an existence theorem of Lagrange multipliers for an abstract control problem in Banach spaces. This theorem may be applied to obtain optimality conditions for control problems governed by partial differential equations in the presence of pointwise state constraints.  相似文献

The non-linear coupled equations arising from alloy mechanism have two important features: a may take negative values and c may be degenerate. The local existence has been proved in Reference 1, but the uniqueness was open. In this paper the uniqueness is proved. For a discussion of the physical model and for the justifications of the detailed technical assumptions to be made, we refer to Reference 1.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the system of two partial differential equations governing the dynamics of phase transitions in shape memory alloys. We consider the one‐dimensional model proposed by Falk, in which a term containing a fourth‐derivative appears. The main purpose is to show the uniqueness for weak solutions of the problem by using the approximate dual equations for the system without growth condition for the free energy function. This paper deals with the optimal control problem of an ordinary differential equation with several pure state constraints, of arbitrary orders, as well as mixed control-state constraints. We assume (i) the control to be continuous and the strengthened Legendre–Clebsch condition to hold, and (ii) a linear independence condition of the active constraints at their respective order to hold. We give a complete analysis of the smoothness and junction conditions of the control and of the constraints multipliers. This allows us to obtain, when there are finitely many nontangential junction points, a theory of no-gap second-order optimality conditions and a characterization of the well-posedness of the shooting algorithm. These results generalize those obtained in the case of a scalar-valued state constraint and a scalar-valued control.  相似文献

We study the approximation of control problems governed by elliptic partial differential equations with pointwise state constraints. For a finite dimensional approximation of the control set and for suitable perturbations of the state constraints, we prove that the corresponding sequence of discrete control problems converges to a relaxed problem. A similar analysis is carried out for problems in which the state equation is discretized by a finite element method.  相似文献

A method of region analysis is developed for solving a class of optimal control problems with one state and one control variable, including state and control constraints. The performance index is strictly convex with respect to the control variable, while this variable appears only linearly in the state equation. The convexity or linearity assumption of the performance index or the state equation with respect to the state variable is not required. The author would like to express his sincere gratitude to Prof. R. We consider state-constrained optimal control problems governed by elliptic equations. Doing Slater-like assumptions, we know that Lagrange multipliers exist for such problems, and we propose a decoupled augmented Lagrangian method. We present the algorithm with a simple example of a distributed control problem.  相似文献

A Kind of direct methods is presented for the solution of optimal control problems with state constraints. These methods are sequential quadratic programming methods. At every iteration a quadratic programming which is obtained by quadratic approximation to Lagrangian function and Linear approximations to constraints is solved to get a search direction for a merit function. The merit function is formulated by augmenting the Lagrangian funetion with a penalty term.A line search is carried out along the search direction to determine a step length such that the merit function is decreased. The methods presented in this paper include continuous sequential quadratic programming methods and discreate sequential quadrade programming methods.  相似文献

We investigate control problems for wave–Petrovsky coupled systems in the presence of memory terms. By writing the solutions as Fourier series, we are able to prove Ingham type estimates, and hence reachability results. Our findings have applications in viscoelasticity theory and linear acoustic theory.  相似文献
