Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) was investigated for the determination of linear saturated carboxylic acid homologues ranging from C4 to C14. Separation conditions were optimised to overcome the problems of decreasing solubility and decreasing selectivity between successive homologues with increasing chain length. Separations were performed at 20°C, using a 20 kV separation voltage and a pH 8 electrolyte containing 30% methanol. A suitable chromophore (4-aminobenzoate) was added to ensure indirect UV detection of the analytes. Calibration curves and repeatability were established. Minimum detectable concentrations of 3·10−6 mol l−1 were achieved. Resolution between successive homologues was better than 2. The electrophoretic mobility of each homologue (n=7–14) was assessed and a quasi-linear relationship between the mobility value and 1/n was observed. The quantitative analysis of a diamide degradation solution was performed and compared to potentiometric results. The CZE method was also applied to the determination of C7–C14 partitioning between an organic medium containing tributylphosphate in n-dodecane and different basic solutions. Their behaviour was established according to the chain length and the pH of the aqueous phase. For C10–C14 compounds, results were validated by comparison with gas chromatographic analysis of the organic phases.  相似文献

A resonating valence bond electron transfer mechanism of combining two O2 molecules to form an O4 molecule is presented. The predicted molecular states of the reaction path D∞h→C2v→D2h are supported by the present ab initio molecular orbital calculations. The CASPT2 BSSE calculations yield a stable diamagnetic D2h O4 molecule with a very weak chemical bond between the monomers, in good agreement with experiments. A low activation barrier energy of 26 cal/mol for the O4 formation is found.  相似文献

From the reaction of MeReO3 with the neutral arylamine C6H5CH2NMe2 and the aryldiamine C6H4(CH2NMe2)2−1,3, have been isolated in good yields the 1/1 adduct complex [MeReO3 · C6H5CH2NMe2], 1, and the 2/1 adduct complex [(MeReO3)2 · C6H4(CH2NMe2)2− 1,3], 2, respectively. The X-ray molecular structure of 2 shows that both rhenium centres have a trigonal bipyramidal geometry and in the axial positions of each rhenium centre are one of the NMe2 units of the aryldiamine ligand and a methyl group. The mono(ortho)-chelated arylaminorhenium trioxide complex [ReO3(C6H4CH2NMe2−2], 3, can be synthesized by a transmetallation reaction of ClReO3 with [ZnC6H4CH2NMe2−22] in a 2:1 molar ratio. In a similar way the bis(ortho)-chelated arylaminorhenium trioxide complex [ReO3C6H3(CH2NMe2)2−2,6], 4, can be synthesized by addition of a mixture of [Li2C6H3(CH2NMe2)2−2,62] and ZnCl2 to ClReO3. Complexes 3 and 4 have been isolated as white solids in 66% and 81% yields respectively. The rhenium centre in complex 4 has a bicapped tetrahedral geometry in which the monoanionic C6H3(CH2NMe2)2−2,6 ligand is pseudo-facially bonded with a characteristic N1-Re-N2 angle of 107.7(3)°, a Re-Cipso bond length of 2.112(11) Å and Re-N1 and Re-N2 bond lengths of 2.518(9) Å and 2.480(8) Å respectively.  相似文献

Among unsymmetric oligomesogens, chiral dimers formed by connecting a cholesteryl ester fragment with various aromatic mesogenic cores through a polymethylene spacer have been attracting much attention due to their remarkable thermal behaviour. In particular, dimers containing a diphenylacetylene segment having an alkoxy chain have shown interesting mesomorphic behaviour. In view of this a new series of unsymmetric dimers consisting of a diphenylacetylene moiety having an alkyl chain and a cholesteryl ester unit joined through a paraffinic spacer have been synthesized and their liquid crystalline properties characterized. The lengths of the central methylene spacer (C3, C4, C5 and C7) as well as that of the alkyl chain (n-butyl, n-pentyl, n-hexyl and n-heptyl) have been varied to establish structure-property relationships. These investigations have revealed that all the dimers exhibit smectic A, twist grain boundary and chiral neamtic (N*) phases with the exception of one of the dimers for which only the N* phase was observed. Some differences in the mesomorphic properties of the unsymmetric dimers containing odd or even parity methylene spacers have been observed. The majority of dimers having an even (C4) parity paraffinic spacer show a blue phase while the dimers with odd (C3, C5 and C7) parity spacers exhibit the chiral smectic (SmC*) phase. In some cases, the SmC* phase exists well below (-60°C) and above room temperature.  相似文献

This work presents chemical modeling of solubilities of metal sulfates in aqueous solutions of sulfuric acid at high temperatures. Calculations were compared with experimental solubility measurements of hematite (Fe2O3) in aqueous ternary and quaternary systems of H2SO4, MgSO4 and Al2(SO4)3 at high temperatures. A hybrid model of ion-association and electrolyte non-random two liquid (ENRTL) theory was employed to fit solubility data in three ternary systems H2SO4–MgSO4–H2O, H2SO4–Al2(SO4)3–H2O at 235–270 °C and H2SO4–Fe2(SO4)3–H2O at 150–270 °C. Employing the Aspen Plus™ property program, the electrolyte NRTL local composition model was used for calculating activity coefficients of the ions Al3+, Mg2+ Fe3+ and SO42−, HSO4, OH, H3O+, respectively, as well as molecular species. The solid phases were hydronium alunite (H3O)Al3(SO4)2(OH)6, hematite Fe2O3 and magnesium sulfate monohydrate (MgSO4)·H2O which were employed as constraint precipitation solids in calculating the metal sulfate solubilities. A correlation for the equilibrium constants of the association reactions of complex species versus temperature was implemented. Based on the maximum-likelihood principle, the binary interaction energy parameters for the ionic species as well as the coefficients for equilibrium constants of the reactions were obtained simultaneously using the solubility data of the ternary systems. Following that, the solubilities of metal sulfates in the quaternary systems H2SO4–Fe2(SO4)3–MgSO4–H2O, H2SO4–Fe2(SO4)3–Al2(SO4)3–H2O at 250 °C and H2SO4–Al2(SO4)3–MgSO4–H2O at 230–270 °C were predicted. The synthesis, characterization, and thermal decomposition of the [Ni(SCN)2(H+SCN)2(4-mepy)2] compound with an octahedral structure in polymeric chain were reported, in which SCN groups form bridges among Ni(II) ions. The compound decomposes in water resulting in a pH<4 solution. The FT-IR spectrum presented doublet bands at 2117; 2128 cm−1, 788; 773 cm−1 assigned to ν(C---N) and ν(C---S) stretching modes, respectively, and δ(SCN) deformation modes at 468; 476 cm−1. The Raman spectrum of the compound presented the ν(C---N) stretching as a strong doublet at 2122; 2128 cm−1, ν(C---S) at 783; 770 cm−1, and δ(SCN) at 468; 477 cm−1. No significant changes were observed in the 4-mepy ligand bands compared with the vibrational frequencies of the pure compound or the compound in aqueous solution 0.2 mol l−1. The crystal UV–vis reflectance spectrum presented two bands centered in 626 and 424 nm tentatively assigned to the d→d type transitions, 3A2g3T1g and 3A2g3T1g, for a symmetry close to Oh. The TG curve showed a mass loss between 120 and 200 °C assigned to the loss of the two 4-mepy molecules; from 200 to 265 °C, the loss of the two H+SCN groups; and from 265 to 450 °C, the loss of the two SCN groups that formed the bridges among the nickel atoms. Based on these mass loss data, a mechanism of thermal decomposition for the compound was proposed.  相似文献

The phase diagram of the system CePO4–K3PO4 has been determined based on investigations by differential thermal analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy and optical microscopy. The system contains only one intermediate compound K3Ce(PO4)2, which melts incongruently at (1500±20)°C. This compound is stable down to room temperature and exhibits a polymorphic transition at 1180°C. It was confirmed that the low-temperature form β-K3Ce(PO4)2 crystallizes in a monoclinic system, space group P21/m with unit cell parameters a=9.579 (5), b=5.634 (6), c=7.468 (5) Å; =γ=90°, β=90.81 (3)°; V=403.083 Å3.  相似文献

Precise knowledge of thermal history (quenching and annealing) of the phases of the quenched liquid crystal MBBA has permitted us, from powder X-ray data, to attribute unequivocally a previously published structure to the C4 metastable phase. In order to complete the rs structure of chlorobenzene given in a preceding paper, a variety of isotopic species of this molecule were synthesized and their microwave spectra studied. This made twenty isotopic species available, enabling the determination of the geometrical parameters by a least squares method. Fitting only differences of moments of inertia either for monosubstituted species or to multiply substituted species gave the same result. They hardly differ from the ro values and agree with the rs values obtained by the Kraitchman equations. The resulting error limits were reduced, however.

The following structural parameters were obtained, C1C2 = 1.399 Å, C2C3 = 1.386 Å, C3C4 = 1.3976 Å, C1Cl = 1.7248 Å, C2H2 = 1.080 Å, C3H3 = 1.081 Å, C4H4 = 1.081 Å, C6C1C2 = 120° 16, C1C2C3 = 119°78, C2C3C4 = 120°24, C3C4C5 = 119°80, C1C2H2 = 119°45, C2C3H3 = 119°76.

The structure of the ring differs significantly from C6 symmetry. The deformation can be regarded as a compression of the position C1 while the angle of C2H2 bond is also changed.  相似文献

Phase behavior of the extraction system, Cyanex 923–heptane/H2SO4–H2O has been studied. The third phase appeared at different aqueous H2SO4 concentration with varying initial Cyanex 923 concentration and temperature affects its appearance. Almost all of H2SO4 and H2O are extracted into the middle phase. The H2SO4 concentration in the third phase increases with the increasing aqueous acid concentration (CH2SO4,b) while the water content first increases and then reaches a constant value at CH2SO4,b=11.3 mol l−1. In the region of CH2SO4,b higher than 5.2 mol l−1, the composition of the middle phase is only related to the equilibrium concentration of H2SO4 in the bottom phase. H2SO4 and H2O are transferred into the middle phase mainly by their coordination with Cyanex 923 when CH2SO4,b is less than 11.3 mol l−1. When CH2SO4,b is higher than 11.3 mol l−1, excess H2SO4 is solubilized into the polar layer of the aggregates. In the region considered, the extracted complex changes from C923 · H2SO4 to C923 · H2SO4 · H2O and then to C923 · (H2SO4)2 · H2O.  相似文献

The radiative lifetimes of nine vibrational levels of the C3(1Πu) radical were obtained from decay time studies of the C3(1Πu1Σ+g) fluorescence induced by a tunable dye laser. The lifetimes of the different vibronic levels were found to be constant within the experimental error limits, namely, τo = (200 ± 10) ns. The collisional deactivation of the C3(1Πu) states by helium gives rate constants between 2.5 and 4 in 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 units.  相似文献

The directed oligomerization of propene and 1-hexene was carried out with a series of Cp′(C5H5)ZrCl2 and Cp2′ZrCl2 pre-catalysts (Cp′=C5HMe4, C4Me4P, C5Me5, C5H4tBu, C5H3-1,3-tBu2, C5H2-1,2,4-tBu3) together with (C5H5)2ZrCl2. Oligomers in the molar mass range 300–1500 g/mol for propene and 200–3000 g/mol for 1-hexene were synthesized at 50 °C. The majority of oligomer molecules contain a double-bond end group. Oligomer characterization was carried out by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), 1H and 13C NMR. Vinylidene double bonds (from β-hydrogen elimination) are solely found for the tert-butyl-substituted zirconocenes and for most of the unsymmetrical methyl-substituted Cp′(C5H5)ZrCl2 systems (except Cp′=phospholyl). With (C4Me4P)(C5H5)ZrCl2 and with the symmetrical methyl-containing Cp2′ZrCl2 pre-catalysts, also vinyl end groups (from β-methyl elimination) are observed in the case of oligopropenes. The vinylidene/vinyl ratio depends on the ligand and the vinyl content increases from C5HMe4 (65/35) over C4Me4P (61/39) to C5Me5 (9/91). The phospholyl zirconocenes and (C5HMe4)2ZrCl2 also exhibit chain-transfer to aluminum thereby giving saturated oligomers.  相似文献

In situ observation of the optical texture, and X-ray patterns of the pressure-induced mesophase seen for 4'-n-hexadecyloxy-3'-nitrobiphenyl-4-carboxylic acid (ANBC-16) was performed under hydrostatic pressures up to 100MPa using a polarizing optical microscope equipped with a high pressure hot stage and a wide angle X-ray diffractometer equipped with a high pressure vessel respectively. It was found that the pressure-induced mesophase (hereafter refered to as 'X') appeared at pressures above 60 MPa, and exhibits a birefringent broken-fan or a sand-like texture that remain unaltered in the SmC phase. The POM-transmitted light intensity curve measured on heating clearly showed the Cr4 →Cr1 →SmC →'X' →SmA →I transition sequence at 80 MPa. The optical texture and the POM-transmitted light intensity measured during a pressure cycle at 185°C showed a reversible change between the cubic and 'X' phases. The WAXD pattern of the 'X' phase showed a spot-like pattern, suggesting no layered structure for this phase, and also revealed a substantial decrease in the d-spacing of the low angle reflection at 80 and 100 MPa, compared with the d-spacings of the (0 0 1) reflection of the SmC phase and also the (2 1 1) reflection of the cubic phase. It is concluded from these data that the 'X' phase is a birefringent hexagonal columnar phase.  相似文献

Collisionally activated dissociation and neutralization-reionization experiments reveal that protonation of ethanol leads to two distinct isomers, the classical ion CH3CH2OH+2 and the proton-bound complex C2H4…H+…OH2. The neutral counterpart of the latter is unstable, whereas that of the former can be produced in a bound state if the CH3CH2OH+2 precursor ion is formed under low ion source pressure conditions and, thus, with higher internal energies. This suggests that there are substantial differences in the geometries of CH3CH2OH+2 and the hypervalent CH3CH2OH2 ·. This provides only a partial explanation for unusual isotope effects; C2H5OD2 ·, CH3CD2OD2 ·, and CD3CH2OD2 · are substantially more stable than C2D5OD2 · and C2H5OH2 ·.  相似文献

Various substituted aminodiphenyldiacetylenes of the type with X = C3H7, C5H11, F or NO2 and R, R' = H, CH3-C6H13 were synthesized and their mesomorphic properties determined. Semi-empirical and ab initio quantum chemical calculations using AM1, 421G and 631G* suggested that the amino group would increase the dielectric anisotropy and optical birefringence as compared to the alkyl chain. Mesomorphic properties were found to be poor with the maximum nematic phase range being 44.8°C and many of the compounds having no nematic phase. Both melting temperatures and enthalpies for those having nematic phases were too high to form good eutectic mixtures.  相似文献

We study the porphyrin S1→S0 fluorescence and the photosensitized singlet oxygen 1Δg3Σg phosphorescence, both originating from absorption of photons with energy less than the porphyrin S0→S1 transition energy. By measuring the excitation intensity dependence of fluorescence at lowered sample temperatures, we are able to discriminate between two parallel processes of one-photon hot-band absorption (HBA) and simultaneous two-photon absorption (TPA). When the HBA and TPA contributions are comparable in magnitude, we use this new method to determine absolute TPA cross-section. We also demonstrate for the first time a singlet oxygen photosensitization via HBA in porphyrin.  相似文献

The encounter complex C2H4…ClF was isolated by using a fast-mixing nozzle before chemical reaction could occur between the components and was characterised by Fourier-transform microwave spectroscopy. Rotational constants, centrifugal distortion constants, Cl nuclear quadrupole constants and Cl spin-rotation constants were determined for the isotopomers C2H435ClF and C2H437ClF. The complex has C2v symmetry with the ClF subunit perpendicular to the plane of C2H4 and oriented so that Cl is closer to C2H4. Both the centrifugal distortion constant ΔJ and the Cl nuclear quadrupole coupling constants indicate that the complex is relatively weakly bound and it is concluded that the interaction between the subunits is largely electrostatic in origin.  相似文献

A series of symmetrical dimers consisting of salicylaldimine moieties connected by flexible alkylene central spacer via ether linkages has been synthesized. In order to validate the empirical rule suggested by Date et al. to account for the smectic behaviour of such dimers, the chain length of the terminal alkoxy chain has been kept constant (C8) while the number of methylene units in the central spacer was varied from C3 to C11. Another aim of the present investigation was to understand structure-property relationship in these dimers in which the salicylaldimine mesogenic segment has been used for the first time in dimers. The mesomorphic behaviour of these dimers was evaluated using optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry and the structure of some of the mesophases has been further investigated with the help of X-ray diffraction. Our studies reveal that the dimers consisting of 3 to 8 methylene units in the flexible spacer show only smectic (smectic C and smectic A) phases. For the dimers containing 4, 6 and 8 methylene units in the central spacer, a unique filament growth pattern has been observed in the smectic A phase while cooling from the isotropic phase. The dimers containing of C9 to C11 methylene groups exhibit the nematic phase in addition to smectic modifications. This observation indicates that when the terminal chains are shorter than the spacer, the tendency to form smectic phases is not fully extinguished but is perhaps reduced.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of CaOsO3 by differential thermal analyses, thermogravimetry and X-ray powder diffraction has been studied. In nitrogen CaOsO3 decomposes at 880 ± 10°C into CaO, osmium metal and oxygen due to the reaction CaOsO3 → CaO + Os + O2. In static air the decomposition occurs in three stages: 2CaOsO3 + 1/2O2 → Ca2Os2O7 (in region 775–808°C), Ca2Os2O7 → Ca2Os2O6,5 + 1/4O2 (at a temperature interval of 850–1000°C) and in the third stage Ca2Os2O6,5 → 2CaO + OsO4 ÷ 1/4 O2 (at 1005 ± 5°C). The first intermediate Ca2Os2O7 is isostructural with orthorhombic Ca2Nb2O7 and its cell parameters are: a0 = 3.745 Å, b0 = 25.1 Å, c0 = 5.492 Å, Z = 4, space group Cmcm or Cmc2. Ca2Os2O7 exhibits metallic conductivity and its electrical resistivity is 4.6 × 10−2 ohm-cm at 296K.  相似文献

We have introduced an oxygen atom and a carbon-carbon double bond with a trans-configuration (E) into the terminal alkyl chain of a wide variety of liquid crystalline cyclohexane derivatives to produce a variety of new methyl (E)-allyl ethers. The melting points and tendency to form smectic mesophases are often low, while nearly all of the compounds prepared exhibit a nematic phase. Thus, even two-ring derivatives can exhibit nematic phases over a wide temperature range (≤80°C), sometimes starting below room temperature (Tm≈10°C). Comparisons with the corresponding derivatives incorporating either just an oxygen atom or just a carbon-carbon double bond in the same position indicate that synergetic effects lead to broader nematic phases than would otherwise have been expected. Thus many of the new methyl (E)-allyl ethers exhibit nematic phases over a wider temperature range than the corresponding materials with an unsubstituted alkyl chain attached to the cyclohexyl ring. The new compounds are easily prepared from known starting materials. Many intermediates are themselves liquid crystalline. This allows investigation of the relationship between liquid crystal transition temperatures and the nature of the terminally substituted alkyl chain (for example, incorporating C=C, OH, CO2C2H5 and OCH3 groups).  相似文献
