With new high statistic data, new isotopes and new high-spin structures are observed in neutron-rich nuclei populated in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. The 135Te levels are extended, and many new levels in 139,141Ba observed. The coexistence of collective and single particle-hole states is found in 135Te. The N = 83 135Te and 139Ba show marked differences associated with differences in their particle and hole states. New levels in 141Ba complete evidence for two opposite-parity doublets characteristic of stable octupole deformation. In 114,116Pd a second backbend is observed for the first time in this mass region and the backbend in 118Pd occurs earlier than in 112-116Pd because of a reduction in pairing. Gamma-type vibrational bands are seen up to 13+ to 15+ in 104,106Mo, 108-112Ru, and 112-116Pd. Their behavior reflects prolate to triaxial shapes in these nuclei. The levels of 162,164Gd are observed for the first time. As N increases toward mid-shell at 104, the moments of inertia in N = 100 164Gd show an unexpected decrease compared to N = 98 162Gd. The levels in 162,164Gd form remarkable shifted identical bands with nuclei separated by 2n, 2p, α, and 2α. The reduced transition probability B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) of 72Zn has been measured for the first time by Coulomb excitation at intermediate energy. The result B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) = 1740±210 e2fm4, corresponds to the deformation parameter β2 of 0.23, in close agreement with expectations derived from the neighboring nucleus 73Zn. A discussion of the evolution of the N = 40 sub-shell closure as a function of Z is presented. Received: 19 December 2001 / Accepted: 14 March 2002  相似文献

Lifetimes of excited states in 118Te have been measured using the Doppler Shift Attenuation (DSA) and Recoil Distance (RD) methods in the 109Ag(13C, p3n) reaction at a beam energy of 54 MeV. Lifetime values of the ground-state band levels with spins I π = 2+-16+ have been obtained. The excitation energies and B(E2) values are interpreted in the framework of a version of IBFM ( IBM + 2qp) with the maximum boson number exceeding its standard value. A satisfactory agreement with experimental level scheme and B(E2) values for the ground-state band is achieved. Received: 7 June 2001 / Accepted: 7 February 2002  相似文献

The isospin dependence of shell closure phenomena is studied for light neutron-rich nuclei within a microscopic self-consistent approach using the Gogny force. Introducing configuration mixing, 32Mg is found to be dynamically deformed, although the N = 20 spherical shell closure persists at the mean-field level for all N = 20 isotones. In contrast, the N = 28 spherical shell closure is found to disappear for N - Z≥ 10 whereas deformed shell closures are preserved and lead to shape coexistence in 44 S. Configuration mixing shows that the ground state of this nucleus is triaxially deformed. The first 2+ excitation energy Ex = 1.46 MeV and the reduced transition probability B(E2;0+ gs→ 2+ 1)= 420 e 2 fm 4 obtained with our approach are in good agreement with experimental data. Due to the recent development of radioactive beam production, various direct reaction studies in reversed kinematics have been made to investigate the behavior of the N = 20 shell closure in the neutron-rich region. Coulomb excitation, proton inelastic scattering, and fragmentation of unstable nuclei have been studied with γ-ray detection. The structure of neutron-rich light nuclei around N = 20 and 28 has been investigated at GANIL by means of in-beam gamma-spectroscopy using fragmentation reactions of 36S and 48Ca beams on a Be target. Gamma-decay of relatively high-lying excited states have been measured for the first time in nuclei around 32Mg and 44S. Level schemes are proposed and discussed for a large number of these neutron-rich nuclei around N = 20 and N = 28. A chemically selective laser ion source has been used in a β-decay study of heavy Ag isotopes into even-even Cd nuclides. Gamma-spectroscopic techniques in time-resolving event-by-event and multiscaling modes have permitted the identification of the first 2+ and 4+ levels in 126Cd78, 128Cd80, and tentatively the 2+ state in 130Cd82. From a comparison of these new states in 48Cd with the E(2+) and E(4+)/E(2+) level systematics of 46Pd and 52Te isotopes and several recent model predictions, possible evidence for a weakening of the spherical N = 82 neutron-shell below double-magic 132Sn is obtained. The neutron-rich nuclei 23 60-63V have been produced at GANIL via interactions of a 61.8A·MeV 76Ge beam with a 58Ni target. Beta-decay to 24 60-63Cr has been investigated using combined β- and γ-ray spectroscopy. Half-lives of the 60-63V nuclei have been determined, and the existence of a beta-decay isomer in the 60V nucleus is strongly supported. The observation of low-energy 2+ states in 60Cr (646keV) and 62Cr (446keV) suggests that these isotopes are strongly deformed with β2 ∼ 0.3. This is confirmed by shell model calculations which show the dominant influence of the intruder g and d orbitals to obtain low 2+ energies in the neutron-rich Cr isotopes. The 109,111,113Rh nuclei have been produced as fission fragments in the fusion reaction 18O + 208Pb at 85 MeV. Their level schemes have been built from gamma-rays detected using the Euroball IV array. High-spin states of the neutron-rich 111,113Rh nuclei have been identified for the first time. Several rotational bands with the odd proton occupying the πg 9/2, πp 1/2 and π(g 7/2/d 5/2) sub-shells have been observed. A band of low-energy transitions has been identified at excitation energy around 2 MeV in 109,111Rh, which can be interpreted in terms of three-quasiparticle excitation, πg 9/2νh 11/2νg 7/2/d 5/2. In addition another structure built on states located at low excitation energy (608 keV in 111Rh, 570 keV in 113Rh) points out that, as already observed in the lighter isotopes 107,109Rh, triaxial deformation plays a role in the neutron-rich Rh isotopes well beyond the mid-shell. The low-energy nuclear structure and decay properties of the neutron-deficient isotopes 195At and 191Bi have been studied. 195At was produced in the reaction 142Nd(56Fe,p2n)195At and 191Bi as the daughter activity of 195At. The activities were implanted in a position-sensitive silicon detector after being separated from the primary beam by a gas-filled recoil separator. The 1/2+ intruder state was determined to be the ground state in 195At with an alpha-decay energy of E α = 6953(3) keV and a half-life T 1/2 = 328(20) ms. Another state with an alpha-decay energy E α = 7075(4) keV and a half-life T 1/2 = 147(5) ms was found to decay to a 148.7(5) keV excited state in 191Bi for which a spin and parity of 7/2- were deduced. Consequently, the same 7/2- character was assigned to the initial state at 32(7) keV in 195At on the basis of unhindered alpha-decay. The 9/2- state, being the ground state in heavier odd-mass astatine isotopes, was not observed. High-spin states of 157Dy were investigated using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy techniques with a 150Nd(12C, 5n) reaction. Three rotational bands with the h 9/2, i 13/2 and h 11/2 configurations were observed up to (43/2-), 53/2+ and 45/2-, respectively. Interband M1 transitions in the h 11/2 (high-Ω) band were also measured up to the highest-spin state. The high-spin states were well reproduced by calculations using the tilted-axis-cranking model (TAC). The B(M1)/B(E2) ratio, Routhian and the tilted angle of the angular-momentum vector are found to be in good agreement with the result of the TAC calculation. Excited states in the neutron-rich, N=84 nuclei 134Sn, 136Te and 138Xe, populated in the spontaneous fission of 248Cm, were studied to medium spins using the EUROGAM2 array. OXBASH code calculations support the experimental identification of maximum aligned configurations in these isotopes. Empirical shell model calculations agree with the proposed excitation energy of the neutron h9/2 excitation in the 132Sn region. A discrepancy between the observed and calculated excitation energy of the Iπ= 12+ level in 136Te indicates possible admixtures of collective excitations in this nucleus. Clear signs of collective excitations are observed in 138Xe. Received: 10 November 1999 / Revised version: 22 December 1999  相似文献

A kinematically complete measurement was made of the Coulomb dissociation of 8B nuclei on a Pb target at 83 MeV/nucleon. The cross-section was measured at low relative energies in order to infer the astrophysical S-factor for the 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction. A first-order perturbation theory analysis of the reaction dynamics including E1, E2, and M1 transitions was employed to extract the E1 strength relevant to neutrino-producing reactions in the solar interior. By fitting the measured cross-section from E rel = 130 keV to 400 keV, we find S 17(0) = 17.8+1.4 -1.2 eV b. Semiclassical 1st-order perturbation theory and fully quantum-mechanical continuum-discretized coupled-channels analyses yield nearly identical results for the E1 strength relevant to solar-neutrino flux calculations, suggesting that theoretical reaction mechanism uncertainties need not limit the precision of Coulomb-breakup determinations of the 7Be(p,γ)8B S-factor. A recommended value of S 17(0) based on a weighted average of this and other measurements is presented. This recommendation implies a revised value for the theoretical flux of 8B solar neutrinos, which is also given.-1 Received: 21 March 2002 / Accepted: 16 May 2002 / Published online: 31 October 2002 RID="a" ID="a"Present address: Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut, Zernikelaan 25, 9747 AA Groningen, The Netherlands; e-mail: davids@kvi.nl  相似文献

Recent mass measurements show a substantial weakening of the binding-energy difference δ2p(Z, N) = E(Z - 2, N) - 2E(Z, N) + E(Z + 2, N) in the neutron-deficient Pb isotopes. As δ2p is often attributed to the size of the proton magic gap, it might be speculated that reduction in δ2p is related to a weakening of the spherical Z = 82 shell. We demonstrate that the observed trend is described quantitatively by self-consistent mean-field models in terms of deformed ground states of Hg and Po isotopes. Lifetimes of excited states in 148Gd were measured using the recoil distance method with a plunger device coupled to the EUROBALL Ge detector array. The differential decay curve method in coincidence mode allowed the unambiguous determination of lifetimes of more than 20 excited states. The obtained transition strengths are in good agreement with the shell model calculations. The effect of the Z = 64 subshell closure on the B(E2 : 2+ → 0+) reduced strengths above the N = 82 magic number is discussed.-1 Received: 14 November 2002 / Accepted: 4 February 2003 / Published online: 29 April 2003  相似文献

Laser spectroscopy measurements have been carried out on the very neutron-rich tin isotopes with the COMPLIS experimental setup. Using the 5s 25p 23 P 0 → 5s 25p6s 3 P 1 optical transition, hyperfine spectra of 126-132Sn and 125m, 127m, 129m-131mSn where recorded for the first time. The variation of the mean-square charge radius ( δ〈r 2〉) between these nuclei and nuclear moments of the isomers and the odd isotopes were thus measured. An odd-even staggering which inverts at A = 130 is clearly observed. This indicates a small appearance of a plateau on the δ〈r 2〉 which has to be confirmed by measuring the isotope shift beyond A = 132. The 106, 108Rh and 110, 112Ag nuclei have been produced as fission fragments following the fusion reaction 28Si + 176Yb at 145 MeV bombarding energy and studied with the Eurogam2 array. The yrast high-spin states of these four odd-odd nuclei, which are observed for the first time, consist of rotational bands in which the odd proton occupies the πg 9/2 subshell and the odd neutron the νh 11/2 subshell. Their behaviour as a function of spin values does not vary with the number of neutrons: as observed in the odd-N neighbouring nuclei, the motion of the odd neutron remains decoupled from the motion of the core, from N = 61 to N = 65. Moreover, the staggering observed in the yrast bands of odd-odd isotopes is strongly reduced as compared to the large values displayed by the rotational bands built on the πg 9/2 subshell in the odd-A Rh and Ag isotopes. The results of particle-rotor calculations indicate that this reduction is related to a change of the core deformation. High-spin states in neutron-rich nuclei, populated following deep-inelastic multi-nucleon transfer, have been studied using the GAMMASPHERE array at the LBNL, USA. A 64Ni beam at an energy ∼ 15% above the Coulomb barrier was incident upon a thick 208Pb target, leading to the population of more than 130 different nuclei. The strongest channels correspond to nuclei close to the projectile and target, although transfer of up to 50 nucleons has been observed. New high-spin states in neutron-rich 60,62Fe and 68,70,72Zn nuclei have been observed. Some limitations of this method of high-spin spectroscopy are discussed, including the apparent difficulty of populating odd-odd and odd-even isotopes via this type of reaction. The data have been searched for superdeformed (SD) states in the A = 190-200 region, but no evidence for their presence has been found. Received: 14 April 2000 / Accepted: 12 September 2000  相似文献

Electromagnetic properties of the low-lying states in a 70Ge nucleus were studied through the multiple Coulomb excitation of a 70Ge beam with a natPb target. Relative γ-ray intensities were measured as a function of emission angle relative to the scattered projectile. Sixteen E2 matrix elements, including diagonal ones, for 6 low-lying states have been determined using the least-squares search code GOSIA. The expectation values 〈Q 2〉 of 01 + and 02 + states in 70Ge are compared with those in 72, 74, 76Ge. Simple mixing calculations indicate that the 02 + states in 70Ge and 72Se can be treated as deformed intruder states. It is shown that the deformed intruder becomes the ground state in 74Kr. These interpretations of the 02 + states in this region are compared with the potential-energy surface calculations by the Nilsson-Strutinsky model, which allow to interpret the experimental results in a qualitative way from the theoretical point of view.
