Study of the reaction γp → pπ0η

The reaction γp → pπ⁰η has been studied with the CBELSA detector at the tagged photon beam of the Bonn electron stretcher facility. The reaction shows contributions from Δ⁺(1232)η , N(1535)⁺π⁰ and pa ₀(980) as intermediate states. A partial-wave analysis suggests that the reaction proceeds via formation of six Δ -resonances, Δ(1600)P ₃₃ , Δ(1920)P ₃₃ , Δ(1700)D ₃₃ , Δ(1940)D ₃₃ , Δ(1905)F ₃₅ , Δ(2360)D ₃₃ , and two nucleon resonances N(1880)P ₁₁ and N(2200)P ₁₃ , for which pole positions and decay branching ratios are given.     

Search for the rare decays K(L)→π0π0μ+μ- and K(L)→π0π0X0→π0π0μ+μ-

The KTeV E799 experiment has conducted a search for the rare decays, K(L)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-) and K(L)→π(0)π(0)X(0)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-), where the X(0) is a possible new neutral boson that was reported by the HyperCP experiment with a mass of (214.3 ± 0.5) MeV/c(2). We find no evidence for either decay. We obtain upper limits of Br(K(L)→π(0)π(0)X(0)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-)) < 1.0 × 10(-10) and Br(K(L)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-)) < 9.2 × 10(-11) at the 90% confidence level. This result rules out the pseudoscalar X(0) as an explanation of the HyperCP result under the scenario that the dsX(0) coupling is completely real.

Observation of Δ+→ pπ0 decay in heavy-ion collisions

Proton-π⁰ coincidences have been measured at the beam energy of 180A MeV in the reaction Ar+Ca studied by TAPS at SIS/GSI. In the proton-π⁰ invariant mass spectrum we observe a significant excess of strength above the background obtained by event mixing. We attribute this signal to the strength distribution N _Δ of the Δ baryonic resonance. No correlation is observed in the case of deuteron-π⁰ coincidences. Assuming isotropic emission of π⁰ and Δ⁺ from a midrapidity thermal source and isospin symmetry, we determined the global N _Δ/N _πratio of 0.79 ±0.30(stat) ±0.2(syst). This value indicates that most pions produced at subthreshold energy in heavy-ion reaction are mediated by the Δ-resonance. Received: 7 April 2000 / Accepted: 29 August 2000     

π0 and η spectra fromp\bar p annihilations at rest

The low-energy part of theπ ⁰ spectrum associated with \(p\bar p\) annihilation at rest was measured in order to search for bound baryonium-like states. The upper limit for reaching such states via the emission of monochromaticπ ⁰'s was found to be 8% per annihilation in the mass region of 1650 MeV. The low-energy part of the η spectrum from \(p\bar p\) annihilations at rest was also observed.     

A test of CPT symmetry in K^0 vs K^0→π^＋π^-π^0 decays

I show that the CP-violating asymmetry in K^0 vs K^0→π^＋π^-π^0 decays differs from that in KL→π^＋π^-, KL →π^0π^0 or the semileptonic KL transitions, if there exists CPT violation in K^0-K^0 mixing. A delicate measurement of this difference at a super flavor factory （e.g., the φ factory） will provide us with a robust test of CPT symmetry in the neutral kaon system.

精确计算在π0重整化链图传播下p(p)→p(p)'微分截面

本文采用中性介子π0与核子N-反核子(N)强相互作用的Lorentz不变耦合模型,对质子p-反质子(p)在中性介子π0重整化链图传播下的散射微分截面,作了严格解析计算后获得了"精确"理论结果;进而,又对该计算结果与π0树图传播下的微分截面作了对比分析,获得了相关辐射修正的重要结果.这对于深入研究质子p-摊贩质子(p)在高、中、低能区中的弹性碰撞及其描述强相互作用的Lorentz不变耦合模型理论,都将提供某些值得借鉴与参考的理论研究价值.     

Study of the process e+e-→π+π-π0π0 at energies √s< 1 GeV

In an experiment with the Spherical Neutral Detector at VEPP-2M collider the cross section of the process e+e-→π+π-π0π0 was measured. At energies √s < 920 MeV this cross section was measured for the first time. The energy dependence of the cross section is well discribed by the vector dominance model with contributions from ρ, ρ' ρ", mesons. The decay probability ρ→π+π-π0π0was found to be Bρ = (1.60±0.74±0.18)×10-5. The upper limit for the decay ω→π+π-π0π0 was improved by two orders of magnitude compared to the previous measurements and is Bω < 2 × 10-4 at 90% confidence level.     

The e + e −→π0π0γ process below 1.0 GeV

The e ⁺ e ^?→π⁰π⁰ γreaction was studied in the energy range 0.36–0.97 GeV on a VEPP-2M e ⁺ e ^? collider with an SND detector. The decay probabilities were found to be B(ω→ π⁰π⁰γ)= (7.8 ±2.7±2.0)×10^?5 and B(π→ π⁰π⁰γ)= (4.8 _?1.8 ^+3.4 ±0.2)×10^?5.     

关于B-0→K-0π0衰变过程研究

系统地计算B^0→K^0π^0衰变过程的强子矩阵元，它包括领头阶因子化部分，αs修正的硬胶子交换部分和软胶子交换部分．其中软胶子交换部分，无论在量子色动力学(QCD)因子化方法中，还是在微扰QCD中都不能进行计算．用光锥QCD求和规则系统地计算了这部分贡献．并发现在该衰变道中软胶子交换部分与领头阶因子化部分以及αs修正的硬胶子交换部分有相同的数量级，因此不能忽略．最后计算了该衰变过程的分支比，计算结果与实验结果相一致．     

Compton scattering on the charged pion and the process γγ→π0π0

The Compton scattering on a charged pion and the process γγ→π⁰π⁰ are studied using the dispersion relations. Unknown parameters of the S-wave ππ interaction and a sum and a difference of the π⁰ meson polarizabilities are found from a fit to the experimental data for the γγ→π⁰π⁰ process. The found parameters of the ππ interaction are used for the calculation of the cross section of the elastic γπ^± scattering. The analysis of the obtained results shows that the experimental data for the elastic γπ^± scattering in the energy region up to 1 GeV together with the data for the γγ→π⁰π⁰ process could be used both for a determination of the pion polarizability values and for study of the S-wave ππ interaction. e+e-→e+e-π0π0 at DAΦNE

The production of the σ(500) meson in γγ→π⁰π⁰ is studied. In particular, the KLOE data collected during the DAΦNE run at are appropriate to this purpose because of the strong reduction of kaon backgrounds. PACS 12.39.-x

π-0 transition in superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor junctions

Superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor (SFS) Josephson junctions are known to exhibit a transition between π and 0 states. In this letter, we find the π-0 phase diagram of an SFS junction depending on the transparency of an intermediate insulating layer (I). We show that, in general, the Josephson critical current is nonzero at the π-0 transition temperature. Contributions to the current from the two spin channels nearly compensate each other, and the first harmonic of the Josephson current as a function of phase difference is suppressed. However, higher harmonics give a nonzero contribution to the supercurrent.
