Emission spectra of the b1Sigma+(b0(+)) --> X3Sigma-(X10(+), X21) and a1Delta(a2) --> X21 transitions of AsI have been measured in the near-infrared spectral region with a Fourier-transform spectrometer. The arsenic iodide radicals were generated and excited in a fast-flow system by reaction of arsenic vapor (Asx) with iodine and microwave-discharged oxygen. The most prominent features in the spectrum are six band sequences of the strong b1Sigma+(b0(+)) --> X3Sigma-(X10(+)) transition in the range 800-900 nm. With much lower intensities the hitherto unknown b1Sigma+(b0(+)) --> X3Sigma-(X21) subsystem and the a1Delta(a2) --> X21 transition near 1660 nm are observed. Vibrational analyses have yielded improved molecular constants for the X10(+) and b0(+) states and first values of the electronic energies and vibrational constants of the X21 and a2 states (in cm-1), X21: Te = 289.8(2), omegae = 255.2(2), omegaexe = 0.68(7), a2: Te = 6305.4(3), omegae = 267.8(1), omegaexe = 0.56(2), where the numbers in parentheses are the standard deviations of the parameters. The E(2)Sigma(+) --> C(2)Pi Rydberg-Rydberg transition of (14)N(16)O near 8492 cm(-1) has been studied by Fourier transform spectrometry in the emission from a dc excited supersonic jet expansion and from a dc discharge under equilibrium conditions. The same transition has also been observed in laser-induced stimulated emission. Line wavenumbers of the 0-0, 1-1, and 2-2 bands, together with data for previously published near-infrared transitions, have been reduced to consistent sets of rovibronic term values for v = 0, 1, and 2 of the A(2)Sigma(+), D(2)Sigma(+), E(2)Sigma(+), and C(2)Pi states which frequently serve as intermediates in the multiphoton excitation of higher Rydberg levels of NO. The reactive scattering of state-selected NO+(X1Sigma(+)) on oxygen-covered Al(111) is explored at hyperthermal collision energies. Relative ion yields and mean translational energies of scattered NO-2 are presented as a function of oxygen exposure and NO+ collision energy. Above the 9+/-1 eV threshold for reaction, NO-2 products emerge with an average kinetic energy that depends linearly on incident NO+ energy. The formation of NO-2 is assigned to the direct, Eley-Rideal abstraction of an adsorbed O atom by an incident NO molecule.  相似文献

Differential cross sections and photon-beam asymmetries have been measured for the gamma n --> K+ Sigma- and gamma p --> K+Sigma0 reactions separately using liquid deuterium and hydrogen targets with incident linearly polarized photon beams of E gamma = 1.5-2.4 GeV at 0.6 < cos ThetacmK< 1. The cross section ratio of sigma K+ Sigma-/sigma K+ Sigma0, expected to be 2 on the basis of the isospin 1/2 exchange, is found to be close to 1. For the K+ Sigma- reaction, large positive asymmetries are observed, indicating the dominance of K* exchange. The large difference between the asymmetries for the K+ Sigma- and K+ Sigma0 reactions cannot be explained by simple theoretical considerations based on Regge model calculations.  相似文献

The CLEO Collaboration has made the first observations of hadronic transitions among bottomonium (bbmacr;) states other than the dipion transitions among Upsilon(nS) states. In our study of Upsilon(3S) decays, we find a significant signal for Upsilon(3S)-->gammaomegaUpsilon(1S) that is consistent with radiative decays Upsilon(3S)-->gammachi(b1,2)(2P), followed by chi(b1,2)(2P)-->omegaUpsilon(1S). The branching ratios we obtain are B[chi(b1)(2P)-->omegaUpsilon(1S)]=(1.63(+0.35+0.16)(-0.31-0.15))% and B[chi(b2)(2P)-->omegaUpsilon(1S)]=(1.10(+0.32+0.11)(-0.28-0.10))%, in which the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.  相似文献

From a sample of 848+/-44 D(+)(s)-->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+) decays, we find gamma(D(+)(s)-->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+))/gamma(D(+)(s)-->straight phipi(+)) = 0.245+/-0.028(+0.019)(-0.012). Using a Dalitz plot analysis of this three body decay, we find significant contributions from the channels rho(0)(770)pi(+), rho(0)(1450)pi(+), f(0)(980)pi(+), f(2)(1270)pi(+), and f(0)(1370)pi(+). We also present the values obtained for masses and widths of the resonances f(0)(980) and f(0)(1370).  相似文献

The electric quadrupole transition from the first 2(+) state to the ground 0(+) state in 16C is studied through measurement of the lifetime by a recoil shadow method applied to inelastically scattered radioactive 16C nuclei. The measured mean lifetime is 77+/-14(stat)+/-19(syst) ps. The central value of mean lifetime corresponds to a B(E2;2+(1)-->0(+)) value of 0.63e(2) fm(4), or 0.26 Weisskopf units. The transition strength is found to be anomalously small compared to the empirically predicted value.  相似文献

From a comparison with the spectrum of NiF, a low-lying (2)Sigma(+) state is expected to lie in the first 2000 cm(-1) above the ground X(2)Pi(3/2) state of NiCl. The identification of this (2)Sigma(+) (v = 0) state (at 1768 cm(-1)) has been carried out through the analysis of two electronic transitions (2)Pi(3/2)-(2)Sigma(+) (22 720 cm(-1)) and (2)Pi(1/2)-(2)Sigma(+) (23 210 cm(-1)) recorded by high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy. Dispersed fluorescence spectroscopy allowed these transitions to be located on an absolute energy-level diagram that includes the previously studied electronic states. The A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) near-infrared system of CaO was observed for the first time at high resolution using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) chemiluminescence was excited in a Ca + N(2)O flame produced in a Broida-type oven. More than 3000 rotational lines, classified into 19 bands involving the A'(1)Pi 0 /= 2) levels with the nearby b(3)Sigma(+) (v-2) levels has been detected. An extended set of A'(1)Pi (v = 0-3) data has been obtained which is suitable for use in a future multistate deperturbation analysis of the a(3)Pi approximately A'(1)Pi approximately b(3)Sigma(+) approximately A(1)Sigma(+) complex of excited states. The new near-infrared spectra of the A'(1)Pi-X(1)Sigma(+) transition of CaO also permits the first direct high-resolution linkage between the orange and green systems and the near-infrared bands. This study concerns antimony chalcogenides and iodochalcogenides isolated in the systems: M1 2S-Sb2S3 (MI=Li, Tl), Sb2X3-SbI3, SnX-SbI3 (X=S, Se, Te) and Sb Se –Sb Te. The crystal structure determination of these compounds was carried out. As all elements with pair antimony III atoms show varied environments by sulphur and iodine atoms in terms of activity of its 5s2 non-bonding electron. Mössbauer effect of121Sb leads to the determination of the local electron environment and to complete the crystal structure analysis. Evolution of Mössbauer data is related to antimony III environment type, bond lengths and activity of non-bonding electron pair. These results have been used to give a structural approach of glass forming region in the Tl2S-Sb2S3 system.  相似文献

Collisional energy transfer processes K2[1(1) sigmau+ (nu'=2)]+He, H2-->K2[1(1) sigmau+(nu'=1,3)]+He, H2 were studied by laser induced fluorescence under gas cell conditions. During the experiments, the cell temperature was kept constant at 420K. The buffer gas pressure was varied over the range from 40 to 250 Pa, Kz molecules were irradiated with pulses of radiation from an OPO laser, populating K2[1(1) sigmau+ (nu'=2)] by photon absorption. The resulting fluorescence included the direct component emitted in the decay of the optically excited state and the sensitized components arising from collisionally populated states. The decay signal of time-resolved fluorescence from 1(1) sigmau+ (nu'=2)]-->1(1) sigmag+(nu"=0) transition was monitored. In the early period after excitation, only very little population in states v'= 1 or 3 had yet accumulated, the rate of collisional activation to the state nu'=2 was negligible. The decay curve of the nu' = 2-->nu" = 0 was treated as a single exponential function. From the measurement of the time-resolved fluorescence, the semilog plot was shown. The slope yielded the effective lifetime of the nu' = 2--> nu' = 0 transition. Based on the Stern-Volmer equation, the radiative lifetime (36 +/- 7) ns was obtained. The total cross sections for deactivation of 1(1) sigmau1 (nu'=2) state by means of collisions with He and H2 are (3.0 +/- 0.5) x 10(-16) cm2 and (6.4 +/- 1.2) x 10(-15) cm2, respectively. The radiative lifetimes of 1(1) sigmau+(nu' = 1,3) states can also be determined through time-resolved fluorescence in pure K vapor. The time-integrated intensities of 1(1)sigmau+(nu' = 1,2,3)-->1(1) sigmag+(nu"=0) transition at different He or Hz pressure were measured. The ratio of fluorescence intensities versus 1/P(He, H2) can be fitted by a straight line. The slopes yield the cross sections sigma(nu'=2-->nu'=1) = (1.4 +/- 0.5) x 10(-16) cm2 and (3.2 +/- 1.0) x 10(-15) cm2; sigma(nu'=2-->nu'=3)= (1.2 +/- 0.4) x 10(-16) cm2 and (2.6 +/- 0.9) x 10(-15) cm2 for He and H2, respectively. Cross sections for the effective quenching of the nu' = 1,2,3 states were also determined. To our knowledge, the cross-sections for these processes are reported for first time.  相似文献

Gas-phase emission spectra of the hitherto unknown free radical BiNa have been measured in the NIR range with a Fourier transform spectrometer. The emissions were observed from a fast-flow system in which bismuth vapor in argon carrier gas was passed through a microwave discharge and mixed with sodium vapor in an observation tube. Two systems of blue-degraded bands observed in the ranges 8900-9800 and 7200-7800 cm(-1) were measured at high spectral resolution and vibrational and rotational analyses were performed. To aid in the analysis of the experimental data, a series of relativistic configuration interaction calculations has been carried out to obtain potential curves for the low-lying states of BiNa and also electric dipole transition moments connecting them. As in the isovalent BiH system, the ground state of BiNa is found to be X(3)Sigma(-) with a spin splitting of about 1769 cm(-1). The first excited state is A(3)Pi, and the observed band systems are assigned to the transitions A(3)Pi(A(2)0(+)) --> X(3)Sigma(-)(X(1)0(+), X(2)1). Comparison with earlier work on the isovalent BiH system emphasizes that the relative weakness of the varsigma MO in BiNa is responsible for qualitative differences in the electronic spectra of these two systems. The hyperfine structure of the (v'-v") = (27-0) band of the b(3)Pi(u0(+)) <-- X(1)Sigma(+)(g) transition has been observed by laser excitation spectroscopy in a highly collimated molecular beam. In this work, the BaI D(2)Sigma(+) and G(2)Sigma(+) electronic states were investigated using laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTS). The LIF visible spectra were obtained by using the second harmonic of the Ti:sapphire single-mode laser and the Ar(+) and Kr(+) multimode lasers as excitation sources. Previously recorded data, taken from C. A. Leach, A. A. Tsekouras, and R. N. Zare (1992, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 153, 59-72) and from R. F. Gutterres, J. Vergès, and C. Amiot (1999, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 196, 29-44; 2000, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 200, 253-260; and 2000, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 201, 326-327) were combined with the present data. Accurate and improved molecular constants for the X(2)Sigma(+), B(2)Sigma(+), A('2)Delta, A(2)Pi, C(2)Pi, and D(2)Sigma(+) states and 16 term values of the G(2)Sigma(+) state were derived from a simultaneous treatment of the whole data set (12 684 transitions) with a standard deviation of 3.26x10(-3) cm(-1). We report an observation of new bottom baryons produced in pp collisions at the Tevatron. Using 1.1 fb(-1) of data collected by the CDF II detector, we observe four Lambda b 0 pi+/- resonances in the fully reconstructed decay mode Lambda b 0-->Lambda c + pi-, where Lambda c+-->pK* pi+. We interpret these states as the Sigma b(*)+/- baryons and measure the following masses: m Sigma b+=5807.8 -2.2 +2.0(stat.)+/-1.7(syst.) MeV/c2, m Sigma b- =5815.2+/-1.0(stat.)+/-1.7(syst.) MeV/c2, and m(Sigma b*)-m(Sigma b)=21.2-1.9 +2.0(stat.)-0.3+0.4(syst.) MeV/c2.  相似文献

We present the first observation of the baryon decay Lambda b0-->Lambda c+pi- followed by Lambda c+-->pK-pi+ in 106 pb-1 pp collisions at square root s=1.96 TeV in the CDF experiment. In order to reduce systematic error, the measured rate for Lambda b0 decay is normalized to the kinematically similar meson decay B0-->D+pi- followed by D+-->pi+K-pi+. We report the ratio of production cross sections (sigma) times the ratio of branching fractions (B) for the momentum region integrated above pT>6 GeV/c and pseudorapidity range |eta|<1.3: sigma(pp-->Lambda b0X)/sigma(pp-->B0X)xB(Lambda b0-->Lambda c+pi-)/B(B0-->D+pi-)=0.82+/-0.08(stat)+/-0.11(syst)+/-0.22[B(Lambda c+-->pK-pi+)].  相似文献

Rotational studies of bands of the infrared systems (1)(3)Pi-->(1)(3)Delta and (1)(3)Pi(1)-->X(1)Sigma(+) of lanthanum monofluoride were carried out with the aim of characterizing the (1)(3)Pi state, assuming the previous representations of X(1)Sigma(+) and (1)(3)Delta (1-3). The vibrational levels of (1)(3)Pi involved in the analyzed transitions were v=0, 1, 2 of the Omega=0 component, v=0, 1 of the Omega=1 component, and v=0 of the Omega=2 component. Perturbations were observed in both systems which were ascribed to spin-uncoupling interactions between (1)(3)Pi(2)(v=0) and (1)(3)Pi(1)(v=1) levels. A 9x9 matrix representation at equilibrium of the complex of interacting levels (v=0, 1, 2) was constructed, each diagonal v-block corresponding to a triplet model of the rovibrational (3)Pi Hamiltonian. The wavenumbers of some 1910 lines in the two systems were simultaneously fitted (rms error of the fit of about 0.0053 cm(-1)), thus yielding a consistent set of accurate spectroscopic constants for the (1)(3)Pi state; the spin-uncoupling interaction parameter was determined as B(Pi)(0, 1)=0.010917(13) cm(-1). All literature vibration-rotational and pure rotational transition energies for the ground X(1)Sigma(+) electronic state of H(35)Cl, H(37)Cl, D(35)Cl, and D(37)Cl, along with the entire collection of electronic B(1)Sigma(+) --> X(1)Sigma(+) emission data for the four isotopomers, have been used in a least-squares fit of compact analytic Born-Oppenheimer potential functions for the B(1)Sigma(+) and X(1)Sigma(+) electronic states. Additional functions related to the adiabatic and nonadiabatic corrections have also been determined. Separate least-squares fits were made according to the hamiltonian operators of J. K. G. Watson (J. Mol. Spectrosc. 80, 411 (1980)) and R. M. Herman and J. F. Ogilvie (Adv. Chem. Phys. 103, 187 (1998)). The results from the separate analyses demonstrate clearly that the two hamiltonian operators are essentially equivalent, both achieving equally satisfactory representations of the spectral data, and furnishing virtually identical Born-Oppenheimer potential functions. Fully quantum-mechanical vibrational eigenvalues and rotational perturbation series parameters B(v)-O(v) are presented for the lower levels of the X(1)Sigma(+) ground state for which infrared and/or microwave data are available (v" 相似文献
