The production properties ofK s 0 , \(\bar \Lambda\) andK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c are investigated using the final statistics of the experiment. We present total and semi-inclusive cross sections and aver-age multiplicities. Estimates are given of the diffractive dissociation contributions to total and differential cross sections. Thex-,p T ?, and transverse mass dependence of inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions is discussed as well as properties of “prompt”K s 0 's. The ratio of “prompt”K 890 + (K 890 0 ) to “prompt”K 0 cross sections is measured to be 1.03±0.12 (0.98±0.17). From a comparison of \(\bar \Lambda\) production inK ± p interactions at 32 GeV/c, we estimate a strange sea-quark suppression of 0.26 ±0.02. The double differential cross sections ofK s 0 's is studied as a function of Feynman-x andp T 2 , and a Triple-Regge fit performed. The data are compared in detail to versions of the Lund-model for low-p T hadronic collisions.  相似文献

We present a study of p $\bar p$ collisions at $\sqrt s = 1800$ and 630 GeV collected using a minimum bias trigger by the CDF experiment in which the data set is divided into two classes corresponding to “soft” and “hard” interactions. For each subsample, the analysis includes measurements of the multiplicity, transverse momentum (p T ) spectrum, and the average p T and event-by-event p T dispersion as a function of multiplicity. A comparison of results shows distinct differences in the behavior of the two samples as a function of the center-of-mass (CM) energy. We find evidence that the properties of the soft sample are invariant as a function of CM energy.  相似文献

We report on the p T dependence of nuclear modification factors (R CP) for K S 0 , ??, ?? and the $\bar NK_S^0 $ ratios at mid-rapidity from Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ = 39, 11.5 and 7.7 GeV. At $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ = 39 GeV, the R CP data show a baryon/meson separation at intermediate p T and a suppression for K S 0 for p T up to 4.5 GeV/c; the $\bar \Lambda K_S^0 $ shows baryon enhancement in the most central collisions. However, at $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ = 11.5 and 7.7 GeV, R CP shows less baryon/meson separation and $\bar NK_S^0 $ shows almost no baryon enhancement. These observations indicate that the matter created in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ = 11.5 or 7.7 GeV might be distinct from that created at $\sqrt {s_{NN} } $ = 39 GeV.  相似文献

The kaon nucleus (KN) interaction in dense nuclear matter is predicted to be repulsive and increasing with density. However, determined values for this potential are not yet consistent with each other (Benabderrahmane et al., Phys Rev Lett 102:182501, 2009; Agakishiev et?al., Phys Rev C 82:044907, 2010; Büscher et?al., Eur Phys J A 22:301–317, 2004). We analyze $K^0_S$ mesons identified with the HADES detector in p+p and p+?93Nb reactions at 3.5?GeV kinetic beam energy. To determine the KN potential at normal nuclear density we propose to compare the $K^0_S$ differential distributions in p+?93Nb and p+p collisions. High statistics of low p t -kaons (p t ?<?100?MeV/c) ensure the sensitivity of our measurements to the nuclear matter effects. We present the data analysis method and first results.  相似文献

The two-spin asymmetries \(A_{LL}^{\pi ^0 } (\mathop p\limits^{( - )} p)\) and \(A_{LL}^\gamma (\mathop p\limits^{( - )} p)\) are calculated in a new model incorporating the nonrelativistic quark model and the parton model which interprets well EMCg 1 p (x) data. The model can reproduce the experimental data for inclusive π0 rather well.  相似文献

We report the centrality dependence of transverse mass (m t ) spectra at mid-rapidity for the identified strange hadrons K S 0 , ? $\Lambda + \bar \Lambda $ and $\Xi ^ - + \bar \Xi ^ + $ in d+Au collisions at RHIC. The measured transverse momentum (p T ) covers 0.4<p T <6.0 GeV/c for K S 0 , ø, $\Lambda + \bar \Lambda $ and 0.6<p T <5.0 GeV/c for $\Xi ^ - + \bar \Xi ^ + $ . The binary collision normalized nuclear modification factors R CP of these hadrons indicate that the Cronin effect in d+Au collisions has a distinct particle-type dependence. the R CP ratios show a distinct baryons versus mesons dependence: the R CP for $\Xi ^ - + \bar \Xi ^ + $ follows that for $\Lambda + \bar \Lambda $ while the R CP for the ? is close to that for the K S 0 . Similar features have also been observed in Au+Au collisions. Initial parton scattering alone is not sufficient to explain this particle-type dependence. Hadronization processes are likely to be important for determining hadron properties in high-energy collisions as suggested by coalescence and recombination models.  相似文献

One of the best understood families of logarithmic onformal field theories consists of the (1, p) models (p =  2, 3, . . .) of central charge c 1, p =1 ? 6(p ? 1)2/p. This family includes the theories corresponding to the singlet algebras ${\mathcal{M}(p)}$ and the triplet algebras ${\mathcal{W}(p)}$ , as well as the ubiquitous symplectic fermions theory. In this work, these algebras are realised through a coset construction. The ${W^{(2)}_n}$ algebra of level k was introduced by Feigin and Semikhatov as a (conjectured) quantum hamiltonian reduction of ${\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(n)_k}$ , generalising the Bershadsky–Polyakov algebra ${W^{(2)}_3}$ . Inspired by work of Adamovi? for p = 3, vertex algebras ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ are constructed as subalgebras of the kernel of certain screening charges acting on a rank 2 lattice vertex algebra of indefinite signature. It is shown that for p≤5, the algebra ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ is a quotient of ${W^{(2)}_{p-1}}$ at level ?(p ? 1)2/p and that the known part of the operator product algebra of the latter algebra is consistent with this holding for p> 5 as well. The triplet algebra ${\mathcal{W}(p)}$ is then realised as a coset inside the full kernel of the screening operator, while the singlet algebra ${\mathcal{M}(p)}$ is similarly realised inside ${\mathcal{B}_p}$ . As an application, and to illustrate these results, the coset character decompositions are explicitly worked out for p =  2 and 3.  相似文献

The inclusive production of heavy (c and b) quarks in high-energy p\(\bar p\) collisions are considered within the semihard approach in QCD. The dependence of the cross section for heavy-quark production, σ(pT>p T min ), on unintegrated gluon distributions is studied. The results of this consideration are compared with experimental data obtained by the D0 and CDF Collaborations at Tevatron.  相似文献

A geometric property is considered to relate the impact parameterb ofhh collision at a given \(\sqrt s \) to the partition temperatureT p of producedn ch pions. It is based on the overlapping of two Lorentz contracted fireballs (FB) associated to the primary hadrons, as is described in the partition temperature model (PTM), assuming for the FB radiusR=r(3n ch/2)1/3. For \(\bar p\) p collisions at \(\sqrt s \) = 540 GeV analyzed by the authors of the PTM,r=0.70±0.03 fm consistent with the pion radius, the computedT p agree with their results for variousn ch. The energy dependence ofT p for \(\bar p\) p from \(\sqrt s \) = 13.8 to 900 GeV is accounted for by assuming the FB velocity with respect to the c.m.s., to behave likepp, i.e., β F =1?λ with λ=2 〈P 〉/λ〈P 〉 and \(\bar b = 0.98fm\) . Remarks are made on the relationship betweenT p and the conventional temperature determined by 〈P 〉 in terms of the Lorentz factor of the FB.  相似文献

Results are presented on two-particle inclusive production inK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c. We study thex 1,2=x 1+x 2 dependence of invariant structure functions of (ππ)-pairs and compare them to single particle inclusive distributions in the fragmentation regions. Distributions of particles observed at Feynmanx 2 in association with various “trigger” particles or systems atx 1 in the same hemisphere are dicussed in terms of the reduced variable \(\tilde x_2 = x_2 /(1 - |x_1 |)\) . We further present absolute production rates and production ratios of π+'s and π?'s associated with π±,K s 0 , Λ, \(\bar \Lambda \) ,K *+ (890), (K s 0 π+), and (π+ π?)-triggers, and compare them with qualitative predictions of the quark recombination model. Forwardbackward correlations between (K s 0 π±), (K s 0 ,p), (Λ, π?), \((\bar \Lambda \pi ^ \pm )\) , and (p, π?) pairs are also discussed.  相似文献

Inclusive spectra of charged particles at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN} } = 130$ GeV and 200 GeV were measured with the STAR detector at RHIC. The measured mean transverse momentum 〈p T 〉 shows a characteristic dependence on charged particle multiplicity and beam energy in Au+Au collisions that is distinctly different from pp, $p\bar p$ and e+e? collisions. A 32%±3%(syst) increase in 〈p T 〉 from pp to Au+Au collisions was observed at 200 GeV. While the charged multiplicity was found to increase by 19%±5%(syst) from $\sqrt {s_{NN} } = 130$ GeV to 200 GeV, no significant difference in 〈p T 〉 was found between the two energies. A comparison with model predictions is discussed.  相似文献

Ratios of inclusive cross sections σ(π+)/σ(π++K ++p) and \(\sigma (\pi ^ - )/\sigma (\pi ^ - + K^ - + \bar p)\) were measured for proton-proton interactions with a highp T hadron in the final state around c.m.s. scattering angles θ?20°, 20° and 45° at two ISR energies \(\sqrt s = 31\) Gev and 62 GeV. Results are shown as functions of transverse and longitudinal momentum and are compared with parton model predictions. The different dependences of positive and negative pion fractions atp T ?2–3 GeV/c on longitudinal momenta is similar to that observed in soft hadronic interactions at low values ofp T where the leading proton effect (diquark fragmentation) is known to contribute. The quantitative agreement of the data with diquark model predictions indicates the presence of diquark fragmentation also in highp T jets.  相似文献

The influence of the cone algorithm parameters (E cut, E seed, R) on efficiency and characteristics of reconstructed jets in p-p collisions at the energy $\sqrt s $ = 200 GeV is studied. Event generation was carried out using the Monte Carlo code PYTHIA. The fraction of dijet event production as a function of transverse momentum of the hard process $\hat p_ \bot $ for different algorithm parameters is studied. The dependence of energy and parton direction reconstruction accuracy for dijet events and two leading jets in N-jet (N Jet ≥ 2) events on the algorithm parameters is found. The results of jet modeling are compared with predictions obtained in the framework of z-scaling and experimental data obtained at RHIC. It is proved that the slope parameter of the scaling function is independent of the algorithm parameters in the transverse jet energy range E T Jet = 25–60 GeV. It is shown that in the region E T Jet < 25 GeV, strong dependence of invariant cross sections and the slope of the scaling function on the algorithm parameters is observed, and this dependence is enhanced with decreasing E T Jet .  相似文献

The presence of a narrow peak in the $ \Lambda$ p invariant-mass distribution observed in the $ \bar{{p}}$ annihilation reaction at rest $\ensuremath \bar{p} {}^4\mathrm{He}\rightarrow p\pi^-p\pi^+\pi^-n X$ is discussed again through an analysis procedure which improves the ratio signal/background in comparison with the previous analysis. The peak is centred at 2223.2±3.2stat±1.2syst MeV and has a statistical significance of 4.7 $ \sigma$ , values compatible with those published previously. If interpreted as the result of the decay into $ \Lambda$ p of a $\ensuremath { }_{\bar{K}}{}^2\mathrm{H}$ bound system, the corresponding binding energy should be B = - 151.0±3.2stat±1.2syst MeV and the width $ \Gamma_{{FWHM}}^{}$ < 33.9±6.2 MeV. The production rate has a lower limit of 1.2 10-4. Data on the $ \bar{{p}}$ annihilation reaction at rest $ \bar{{p}}$ 4He $ \rightarrow$ p $ \pi^{-}_{}$ p $ \pi^{-}_{}$ p s X , analyzed for the first time, lead to a result in qualitative agreement with the previous one.  相似文献

The electroproduction of charged $ \rho$ -mesons on the nucleon at intermediate energy is discussed for quasi-elastic kinematics. It is shown that at these kinematics both the longitudinal $ \sigma_{{L}}^{}$ and transverse $ \sigma_{{T}}^{}$ cross-sections are dominated by the $ \rho$ -meson t -pole contribution, and thus the corresponding dσ L(T)/dt data can give a valuable information on the $ \rho$ -meson component of the nucleon cloud. The differential cross-sections for the reaction p(e, e $ \rho^{+}_{}$ )n at Q 2 = 2 , 3.5GeV^2 and at the invariant mass W = 3 and 4GeV are calculated on the basis of quasi-elastic knockout mechanism with form factors. Questions about the gauge invariance of the electroproduction amplitude are considered and it is noted an important difference between photo- and electroproduction amplitudes.  相似文献

We have calculated the longitudinal and other polarization dependent cross sections for jet production in deep inelasticep, vp, and \(\bar vp\) scattering up to order α s of the quark-gluon coupling constant. Fragmentation of final state partons into hadrons is taken into account. Distributions in thrust,p 2 T in andp 2 T out are predicted for all three reactions and various values ofW andQ.  相似文献

Thermochemical data on fullerenes are relatively scarce. However, some thermochemical information can be derived from gas-phase experiments using the Knudsen cell mass spectrometry method. The third-law treatment can be carried out on the observed data, though one has to make the crucial presumption that the change in the thermodynamic potential ΔΦ T o in the course of the reactions considered is negligible: ΔΦ T o =0. It would be difficult to check the presumption directly in the experiment, but it can be checked computationally. Model reactions like C60+ 70 ? = 60 ? +70 are selected. The change in the thermodynamic potential ΔΦ T o and the change in the standard entropy ΔS T o are computed. For example, at a temperature of T=1000 K, the standard changes for the reaction evaluated using the SAM1 method are ΔΦ T o =1.513 cal/(mol K) and ΔS T o =?0.054 cal/(mol K). Overall, the computations support the critical thermodynamic presumption.  相似文献

A two-temperature model is proposed for the semi-inclusive transverse momentum (p T ) distributions at the CERN \(p\bar p\) collider. Our model accounts well characteristic multiplicity dependence of thep T distributions. Energy dependence of thep T distributions is investigated in comparison with the data at ISR energies. High temperature state becomes more important at high energy and multiplicity regions. The ratio between high and normal temperature is almost independent of energy and multiplicity.  相似文献
