A novel monomeric tetravalent manganese complex with the cross-bridged cyclam ligand 4,11-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazabicyclo[6.6.2]hexadecane (Me2EBC), [Mn(IV)(Me2EBC)(OH)2](PF6)2, was synthesized by oxidation of Mn(II)(Me2EBC)Cl2 with H2O2 in the presence of NH4PF6)in aqueous solution. The X-ray crystal structure determination of this manganese(IV) compound revealed that it contains two rare terminal hydroxo ligands. EPR studies in dry acetonitrile at 77 K show two broad resonances at g = 1.96 and 3.41, indicating that the manganese(IV) exists as a high-spin d3 species. Resonance Raman (rR) spectra of this manganese(IV) species reveal that the dihydroxy moiety, Mn(IV)(OH)2, is also the dominant species in aqueous solution (pH < 7). pH titration provides two pK(a) values, 6.86(4) and 10.0(1), associated with stepwise removal of the last two oxygen-bound protons from [Mn(IV)(Me2EBC)(OH)2](2+). The cyclic voltammetry of this manganese(IV) complex in dry acetonitrile at 298 K demonstrates two reversible redox processes at +0.756 and -0.696 V (versus SHE) for the Mn4+/Mn3+ and Mn3+/Mn2+ couples, respectively. This manganese(IV) complex is relatively stable in weak acidic aqueous solution but easily degrades in basic solution to manganese(III) derivatives with an 88 +/- 1% yield.  相似文献

The manganese(III)-bis[poly(pyrazolyl)borate] complexes, Mn(pzb)2SbF6, where pzb- = tetrakis(pyrazolyl)borate (pzTp) (1), hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate (Tp) (2), or hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate (Tp*) (3), have been synthesized by oxidation of the corresponding Mn(pzb)2 compounds with NOSbF6. The Mn(III) complexes are low-spin in solution and the solid state (microeff = 2.9-3.8 microB). X-ray crystallography confirms their uncommon low-spin character. The close conformity of mean Mn-N distances of 1.974(4), 1.984(5), and 1.996(4) A in 1, 2, and 3, respectively, indicates absence of the characteristic Jahn-Teller distortion of a high-spin d4 center. N-Mn-N bite angles of slightly less than 90 degrees within the facially coordinated pzb- ligands produce a small trigonal distortion and effective D3d symmetry in 1 and 2. These angles increase to 90.0(4)degrees in 3, yielding an almost perfectly octahedral disposition of N donors in Mn(Tp*)2+. Examination of structural data from 23 metal-bis(pzb) complexes reveals systematic changes within the metal-(pyrazolyl)borate framework as the ligand is changed from pzTp to Tp to Tp*. These deformations consist of significant increases in M-N-N, N-B-N, and N-N-B angles and a minimal increase in Mn-N distance as a consequence of the steric demands of the 3-methyl groups. Less effective overlap of pyrazole lone pairs with metal atom orbitals resulting from the M-N-N angular displacement is suggested to contribute to the lower ligand field strength of Tp* complexes. Mn(pzb)2+ complexes undergo electrochemical reduction and oxidation in CH3CN. The electrochemical rate constant (ks,h) for reduction of t2g4 Mn(pzb)2+ to t2g3eg2 Mn(pzb)2 (a coupled electron-transfer and spin-crossover reaction) is 1-2 orders of magnitude smaller than that for oxidation of t2g4 Mn(pzb)2+ to t2g3 Mn(pzb)22+. ks,h values decrease as Tp* > pzTp > Tp for the Mn(pzb)2+/0 electrode reactions, which contrasts with the behavior of the comparable Fe(pzb)2+/0 and Co(pzb)2+/0 couples.  相似文献

The novel mononuclear complex PPh(4)-mer-[Fe(III)(bpca)(3)(CN)(3)].H(2)O (1) [PPh(4)(+) = tetraphenylphosphonium cation and bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate anion] and ladder-like chain compound [[Fe(III)(bpca)(micro-CN)(3)Mn(II)(H(2)O)(3)] [Fe(III)(bpca)(CN)(3)]].3H(2)O (2) have been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 is a low-spin iron(III) compound with three cyanide ligands in mer arrangement and a tridentate N-donor ligand building a distorted octahedral environment around the iron atom. Compound 2 is an ionic salt made up of cationic ladder-like chains [[Fe(III)(bpca)(micro-CN)(3)Mn(II)(H(2)O)(3)]](+) and uncoordinated anions [Fe(III)(bpca)(3)(CN)(3)](-). The magnetic properties of 2 correspond to those of a ferrimagnetic chain with significant intrachain antiferromagnetic coupling between the low-spin iron(III) centers and the high-spin manganese(II) cations. This compound exhibits ferrimagnetic ordering below 2.0 K.  相似文献

Seven cyanide-bridged bimetallic complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of [Fe(1-CH3im)(CN)5]2- with Mn(III) Schiff base complexes. Their crystal structure and magnetic properties have been characterized. Five complexes, [Mn2(5-Brsalen)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (1), [Mn2(5-Clsalen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (2), [Mn2(5-Clsaltn)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] (3), [Mn2(5-Clsaltmen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x H2O (4), and [Mn2(5-Brsaltmen)2(H2O)2Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)] x CH3OH (5), are neutral and trinuclear with two [Mn(SB)]+ (SB2- = Schiff base ligands) and one [Fe(1-CH3im)(CN)5]2-. Complex {[Et4N][Mn(acacen)Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]}n x 6nH2O (6) is one-dimensional with alternate [Mn(acacen)]+ and [Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]2- units. The two-dimensional complex {[Mn4(saltmen)4Fe(CN)5(1-CH3im)]}n[ClO4]2n x 9nH2O (7) consists of Mn4Fe units which are further connected by the phenoxo oxygen atoms. Magnetic studies show the presence of ferromagnetic Mn(III)-Fe(III) coupling in the trinuclear compounds with the magnetic coupling constant (J) ranging from 4.5 to 6.0 cm-1, based on the Hamiltonian H = -2JSFe(SMn(1) + SMn(2)). Antiferromagnetic interaction has been observed in complex 6, whereas ferromagnetic coupling occurs in complex 7. Complexes 6 and 7 exhibit long-range magnetic ordering with a TN value of 4.0 K for 6 and Tc of 4.8 K for 7. Complex 6 shows metamagnetic behavior at 2 K, and complex 7 possesses a hysteresis loop with a coercive field of 500 Oe, typical of a soft ferromagnet.  相似文献

Synthesis and structural, magnetic and electrochemical characterization of the Ni(hfac) 2(pyDTDA) and the Fe(hfac) 2(pyDTDA) complexes are reported (hfac = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoroacetylacetonato-; pyDTDA = 4-(2'-pyridyl)-1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolyl). Unlike the previously reported Mn(II) and Cu(II) complexes, but similar to the Co(II) complex, the Ni(II) and Fe(II) complexes are not dimerized in the solid state, allowing for magnetic coupling between the metal ion and paramagnetic ligand to be readily obtained from solid state magnetic measurements: Ni complex, J/k B = +132(1) K, using H = -2 J{ S Ni. S Rad} and g Ni = 2.04(2) and g Rad = 1.99(2); Fe complex, J/k B = -60.3(3) K, using H = -2 J{ S Fe. S Rad} and g av = 2.11(2). The iron complex is unusually unstable. A thermal decomposition product is isolated wherein the coordinated pyDTDA ligand appears to have been transformed into a coordinated 2-(2'-pyridyl)-4,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine. The iron complex also yields a solution decomposition product in the presence of air that is best described as an oxygen bridged iron(III) tetramer with two hfac ligands on each of three iron atoms and two oxidized pyDTDA ligands chelated on the fourth.  相似文献

A novel ligand of DTPA-dihydropyridine derivative was synthesized by reaction of DTPA-dianhydride with 4-aniline-1,4-dihydropyridine. Its complexes of gadolinium, manganese and iron were prepared. Their spin-lattice relaxivities (T1) were investigated. The results show that the NMR T1 relaxivitives (R1) for complexes of Fe(III), Mn(II) are less than that of Gd(III) complex, which has a high relaxivity (R1) on the surrounding water protons, indicating that the Gd(III) complex possesses the precondition to be contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging.  相似文献

Different metal complexes of the general form M(OH) n (H2O)6– n have been studied for manganese and iron. Oxidation states considered for manganese are Mn(III), Mn(IV) and Mn(V) and for iron Fe(II), Fe(III) and Fe(IV). Oxygen containing ligands are used throughout with varying numbers of hydroxyl and water ligands. Some metal-oxo and some charged complexes were also studied. Large Jahn-Teller distortions were found for the Mn(III) and Fe(IV) complexes. Consequences of these distortions are that water ligands have to be placed along the weak JT-axis and that five-coordination by a loss of one of these water ligands is quite competitive with six-coordination in particular for manganese. For Fe(II) and Fe(III) lower coordinations than six are preferred due to the presence of two repulsive e g electrons. For the metal-oxo complexes five-coordination is also preferred due to the strong trans effect from the oxo ligand. All complexes studied have high-spin ground states. An interesting effect is that the spin is much more delocalized on the ligands for the iron complexes than for the manganese complexes. This effect, which is chemically important for certain iron enzymes, is rationalized by the large number of 3d electrons on iron. For manganese with only five 3d electrons no spin delocalization is needed to obtain the proper high-spin states. Received: 4 February 1997 / Accepted: 24 February 1997  相似文献

Two new terpyridine dimanganese oxo complexes [Mn(2)(III,IV)(mu-O)(2)(terpy)(2)(CF(3)CO(2))(2)](+) (3) and [Mn(2)(III,III)(mu-O)(terpy)(2)(CF(3)CO(2))(4)] (4) (terpy = 2,2':6,2' '-terpyridine) have been synthesized and their X-ray structures determined. In contrast to the corresponding mixed-valent aqua complex [Mn(2)(III,IV)(mu-O)(2)(terpy)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](3+) (1), the two Mn atoms in 3 are not crystallographically equivalent. The neutral binuclear monooxo manganese(III,III) complex 4 exhibits two crystallographic forms having cis and trans configurations. In the cis complex, the two CF(3)CO(2)(-) ligands on each manganese adopt a cis geometry to each other; one CF(3)CO(2)(-) is trans to the oxygen of the oxo bridge while the second is cis. In the trans complex, the two coordinated CF(3)CO(2)(-) have a trans geometry to each other and are cis to the oxo bridge. The electrochemical behavior of 3 in organic medium (CH(3)CN) shows that this complex could be oxidized into its corresponding stable manganese(IV,IV) species while its reduced form manganese(III,III) is very unstable and leads by a disproportionation process to Mn(II) and Mn(IV) complexes. Complex 4 is only stable in the solid state, and it disproportionates spontaneously in CH(3)CN solution into the mixed-valent complex 3 and the mononuclear complex [Mn(II)(terpy)(2)](2+) (2), thereby preventing the observation of its electrochemical behavior.  相似文献

Non-heme iron and manganese species with terminal oxo ligands are proposed to be key intermediates in a variety of biological and synthetic systems; however, the stabilization of these types of complexes has proven difficult because of the tendency to form oxo-bridged complexes. Described herein are the design, isolation, and properties for a series of mononuclear Fe(III) and Mn(III) complexes with terminal oxo or hydroxo ligands. Isolation of the complexes was facilitated by the tripodal ligand tris[(N'-tert-butylureaylato)-N-ethyl]aminato ([H(3)1](3-)), which creates a protective hydrogen bond cavity around the M(III)-O(H) units (M(III) = Fe and Mn). The M(III)-O(H) complexes are prepared by the activation of dioxygen and deprotonation of water. In addition, the M(III)-O(H) complexes can be synthesized using oxygen atom transfer reagents such as N-oxides and hydroxylamines. The [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) complex also can be made using sulfoxides. These findings support the proposal of a high valent M(IV)-oxo species as an intermediate during dioxygen cleavage. Isotopic labeling studies show that oxo ligands in the [M(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) complexes come directly from the cleavage of dioxygen: for [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) the nu(Fe-(16)O) = 671 cm(-1), which shifts 26 cm(-1) in [Fe(III)H(3)1((18)O)](2-) (nu(Fe-(18)O) = 645 cm(-1)); a nu(Mn-(16)O) = 700 cm(-1) was observed for [Mn(III)H(3)1((16)O)](2-), which shifts to 672 cm(-1) in the Mn-(18)O isotopomer. X-ray diffraction studies show that the Fe-O distance is 1.813(3) A in [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-), while a longer bond is found in [Fe(III)H(3)1(OH)](-) (Fe-O at 1.926(2) A); a similar trend was found for the Mn(III)-O(H) complexes, where a Mn-O distance of 1.771(5) A is observed for [Mn(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) and 1.873(2) A for [Mn(III)H(3)1(OH)](-). Strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds between the urea NH groups of [H(3)1](3-) and the oxo and oxygen of the hydroxo ligand are observed in all the complexes. These findings, along with density functional theory calculations, indicate that a single sigma-bond exists between the M(III) centers and the oxo ligands, and additional interactions to the oxo ligands arise from intramolecular H-bonds, which illustrates that noncovalent interactions may replace pi-bonds in stabilizing oxometal complexes.  相似文献

In order to model the photoinduced electron-transfer reactions from the manganese cluster to the photoactive P680 chlorophylls in photosystem II, three heterohexanuclear complexes, [Mn2III,IVO2[RuII(bpy)2(Ln)]4]11+ [bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, n = 2 (1a), 4 (1b), 6 (1c)], in which one MnIII,IV(micro-O)2 center is covalently linked to four RuII(bpy)3-like moieties by bridged bis(bipyridine) Ln ligands, have been synthesized and characterized. The electrochemical, photophysical, and photochemical properties of these complexes have been investigated in CH3CN. The cyclic voltammograms and rotating-disk electrode curves of the three complexes show the presence of two very close successive reversible oxidation processes corresponding to the Mn2III,IV/Mn2IV,IV and RuII/RuIII redox couples (estimated E1/2 approximately 0.82 and 0.90 V, respectively). The lower potential of the Mn2III,IV subunit compared to those of the RuII moieties indicates that the RuIII species can act as an efficient oxidant toward the Mn2III,IV core. The two oxidized forms of the complexes [Mn2IV,IVO2[RuII(bpy)2(Ln)]4]12+ (2a-c) and [Mn2IV,IVO2[RuIII(bpy)2(Ln)]4]16+ (3a-c) obtained in good yields (>90% for 2a-c and >85% for 3a-c) by sequential electrolyses are very stable. Photophysical studies show that the 3MLCT excited state of the Ru(bpy)3 centers is moderately quenched by the Mn2III,IV(micro-O)2 core (15-25% depending on the length of the bridging alkyl chain). Nevertheless, this energy transfer can be easily short-circuited in the presence of an external irreversible electron acceptor like the (4-bromophenyl)diazonium cation, by an electron transfer leading, in a stepwise fashion, to the stable one- and five-electron-oxidized species 2a-c and 3a-c, respectively, also in good yields, under continuous irradiation of the solutions. Electro- and photoinduced oxidation experiments have been followed by UV-visible and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy.  相似文献

2,2'-Bis[2-(1-propylbenzimidazol-2-yl)]biphenyl), 4, and its bis complexes with Fe(II) and Mn(II) have been prepared and characterized structurally and spectroscopically. Ligand 4 adopts an open, "trans" conformation in the solid state with the benzimidazole (BzIm) groups on opposite sides of the biphenyl unit. In its complexes with metal ions, a "cis" conformation is observed, and 4 behaves as a geometrically constraining bidentate ligand with four planar groups connected by three "hinges". Reaction of 4 with Fe(II) or Mn(II) yielded isomorphous crystals (space group Pnn2) of Fe(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2 and Mn(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2, in which the M(II)(4)2 cations exhibit distorted-tetrahedral coordination geometries (N-M-N angles, 109 +/- 11 degrees ) enforced by rigid, chiral nine-membered M(4) rings in the twist-boat-boat conformation. Individually, the cations show R,R or S,S stereochemistry, and the crystals are racemates. Mn(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2 exhibits a quasi-reversible Mn(II) --> Mn(III) oxidation at E(1/2) = 0.64 V; the corresponding Fe(II) --> Fe(III) oxidation occurs at E(1/2) = 1.76 V. The electrochemical stability of the Fe(III) oxidation state in this system suggests the possibility of isolating an unusual pseudotetrahedral Fe(III)N(BzIm)(4) species. Ultraviolet spectra of the iron and manganese complexes are dominated by absorptions of the ligand 4 blue-shifted by approximately 2000-3000 cm(-1). Ligand-field absorptions were observed for the Fe(II) complex; those for the Mn(II) complex were obscured by tailing ultraviolet absorptions. Electron paramagnetic resonance and magnetic susceptibility measurements are consistent with a high-spin Mn(II) complex, while for the Fe(II) complex, the falloff of the magnetic moment with decreasing temperature is indicative of zero-field splitting with D approximately 4 cm(-1).  相似文献

Summary The synthesis and principle properties of several novel tris[1-(4-X-phenyl)-4,4-dimethylpenta-1, 3-dionato]-iron(III) and manganese(III) complexes, where X=MeO, Me, H, F, Cl and NO2, are described. Magnetic susceptibility measurements in the 4.2–295 K range show a near Curie behaviour and a constant magnetic moment for manganese(III) complexes and for iron complexes, with X=F, Cl or NO2. Iron complexes with ligands having substituents: X=MeO, Me and H, show weak antiferromagnetic interaction (J=ca.–8 cm–1 for the two former compounds) and a decrease in magnetic moment with decreasing temperature. In both manganese(III) and iron(III) complexes the diketonate ligand can be easily replaced by chlorine. Equilibrium constants could be evaluated only for substitution of the third diketonate ligand by chloride in the iron complexes on the basis of spectrophotometric measurements. For manganese chelates, the replacement of the second diketonate by chloride is accompanied by reduction of manganese(III) manganese(II) and free organic radical formation is observed.  相似文献

Reaction of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehydebenzoylhydrazone(napbhH2) with manganese(II) acetate tetrahydrate and manganese(III) acetate dihydrate in methanol followed by addition of methanolic KOH in molar ratio (2 : 1 : 10) results in [Mn(IV)(napbh)2] and [Mn(III)(napbh)(OH)(H2O)], respectively. Activated ruthenium(III) chloride reacts with napbhH2 in methanolic medium yielding [Ru(III)(napbhH)Cl(H2O)]Cl. Replacement of aquo ligand by heterocyclic nitrogen donor in this complex has been observed when the reaction is carried out in presence of pyridine(py), 3-picoline(3-pic) or 4-picoline(4-pic). The molar conductance values in DMF (N,N-dimethyl formamide) of these complexes suggest non-electrolytic and 1 : 1 electrolytic nature for manganese and ruthenium complexes, respectively. Magnetic moment values of manganese complexes suggest Mn(III) and Mn(IV), however, ruthenium complexes are paramagnetic with one unpaired electron suggesting Ru(III). Electronic spectral studies suggest six coordinate metal ions in these complexes. IR spectra reveal that napbhH2 coordinates in enol-form and keto-form to manganese and ruthenium metal ions in its complexes, respectively. ESR studies of the complexes are also reported.  相似文献

A series of heterobimetallic complexes of the type [Fe(III)M(II)L(&mgr;-OAc)(OAc)(H(2)O)](ClO(4)).nH(2)O (2-5) and [{Fe(III)Co(III)L(&mgr;-OAc)(OAc)}(2)(&mgr;-O)](ClO(4))(2).3H(2)O (6) where H(2)L is a tetraaminodiphenol macrocyclic ligand and M(II) = Zn(2), Ni(3), Co(4), and Mn(5) have been synthesized and characterized. The (1)H NMR spectrum of 6 exhibits all the resonances between 1 and 12 ppm. The IR and UV-vis spectra of 2-5 indicate that in all the cases the metal ions have similar coordination environments. A disordered crystal structure determined for 3 reveals the presence of a (&mgr;-acetate)bis(&mgr;-phenoxide)-Ni(II)Fe(III) core, in which the two metal ions have 6-fold coordination geometry and each have two amino nitrogens and two phenolate oxygens as the in-plane donors; aside from the axial bridging acetate, the sixth coordination site of nickel(II) is occupied by the unidentate acetate and that of iron(III) by a water molecule. The crystal structure determination of 6 shows that the two heterobinuclear Co(III)Fe(III) units are bound by an Fe-O-Fe linkage. 6 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Ibca with a = 17.577(4) ?, b = 27.282(7) ?, c = 28.647(6) ?, and Z = 8. The two iron(III) centers in 6 are strongly antiferromagnetically coupled, J = -100 cm(-1) (H = -2JS(1).S(2)), whereas the other two S(1) = S(2) = (5)/(2) systems, viz. [Fe(2)(III)(HL)(2)(&mgr;-OH)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (1) and the Fe(III)Mn(II) complex (5), exhibit weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling with J = -4.5 cm(-1) (1) and -1.8 cm(-1) (5). The Fe(III)Ni(II) (3) and Fe(III)Co(II) (4) systems, however, exhibit weak ferromagnetic behavior with J = 1.7 cm(-1) (3) and 4.2 cm(-1) (4). The iron(III) center in 2-5 exhibits quasi-reversible redox behavior between -0.44 and -0.48 V vs Ag/AgCl associated with reduction to iron(II). The oxidation of cobalt(II) in 4 occurs quasi-reversibly at 0.74 V, while both nickel(II) and manganese(II) in 3 and 5 undergo irreversible oxidation at 0.85 V. The electrochemical reduction of 6 leads to the generation of 4.  相似文献

Starting from their six-coordinate iron(II) precursor complexes [L8RFe(MeCN)]2+, a series of iron(III) complexes of the known macrocyclic tetracarbene ligand L8H and its new octamethylated derivative L8Me, both providing four imidazol-2-yliden donors, were synthesized. Several five- and six-coordinate iron(III) complexes with different axial ligands (Cl, OTf, MeCN) were structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction and analyzed in detail with respect to their spin state variations, using a bouquet of spectroscopic methods (NMR, UV/Vis, EPR, and 57Fe Mößbauer). Depending on the axial ligands, either low-spin (S=1/2) or intermediate-spin (S=3/2) states were observed, whereas high-spin (S=5/2) states were inaccessible because of the extremely strong in-plane σ-donor character of the macrocyclic tetracarbene ligands. These findings are reminiscent of the spin state patterns of topologically related ferric porphyrin complexes. The ring conformations and dynamics of the macrocyclic tetracarbene ligands in their iron(II), iron(III) and μ-oxo diiron(III) complexes were also studied.  相似文献

Abstract

The novel high spin Ni2+ complexes of the topologically constrained tetraazamacrocycles (1–4) [4,11-dimethyl-1,4,8,11 - tetraazabicyclo[6.6.2]hexadecane (1); 4,10-dimethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazabicyclo[6.5.2]pentadecane (2); 4,10-dimethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazabicyclo[5.5.2]tetradecane (3); racemic-4,5,7,7,11,12,14,14-octamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazabicyclo[6.6.2]hexadecane (4)] show striking properties. Potentiometric titrations of the ligands 2 and 4 revealed them to be proton sponges, as reported earlier for 1 [1]. Ligand 3 is less basic, losing its last proton with a pK = 11.3(2). Despite high proton affinities, complexation reactions in the absence of protons successfully yielded Ni2+ complexes in all cases. The X-ray crystal structures of Ni(1)(acac)+, Ni(3)(acac)+ and Ni(1)(OH2)2 2+ demonstrate that the ligands enforce a distorted octahedral geometry on Ni2+ with two cis sites occupied by other ligands. Magnetic measurements and electronic spectroscopy on the corresponding Ni(L)Cl2 (L = 1–3) complexes reveal that all are high spin and six-coordinate with typical magnetic moments. In contrast, [Ni(4)Cl+] is five-coordinate with a slightly higher magnetic moment and its own characteristic electronic spectrum. The extra methyl groups on ligand 4 define a shallow cavity, sterically allowing only one chloride ligand to bind to the nickel(II) ion.  相似文献

New heterobimetallic tetranuclear complexes of formula [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Mn(II)(bpy)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN (1), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2a), [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2b), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3a), and [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3b), [HB(pz)(3)(-) = hydrotris(1-pyrazolyl)borate, B(Pz)(4)(-) = tetrakis(1-pyrazolyl)borate, dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine] have been synthesized and structurally and magnetically characterized. Complexes 1-3b have been prepared by following a rational route based on the self-assembly of the tricyanometalate precursor fac-[Fe(III)(L)(CN)(3)](-) (L = tridentate anionic ligand) and cationic preformed complexes [M(II)(L')(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) (L' = bidentate α-diimine type ligand), this last species having four blocked coordination sites and two labile ones located in cis positions. The structures of 1-3b consist of cationic tetranuclear Fe(III)(2)M(II)(2) square complexes [M = Mn (1), Ni (2a and 2b), Co (3a and 3b)] where corners are defined by the metal ions and the edges by the Fe-CN-M units. The charge is balanced by free perchlorate anions. The [Fe(L)(CN)(3)](-) complex in 1-3b acts as a ligand through two cyanide groups toward two divalent metal complexes. The magnetic properties of 1-3b have been investigated in the temperature range 2-300 K. A moderately strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Mn(II) (S = 5/2) ions has been found for 1 leading to an S = 4 ground state (J(1) = -6.2 and J(2) = -2.7 cm(-1)), whereas a moderately strong ferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Ni(II) (S = 1) and Co(II) (S = 3/2) ions has been found for complexes 2a-3b with S = 3 (2a and 2b) and S = 4 (3a and 3b) ground spin states [J(1) = +21.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +19.4 cm(-1) (2a); J(1) = +17.0 cm(-1) and J(2) = +12.5 cm(-1) (2b); J(1) = +5.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.1 cm(-1) (3a); J(1) = +8.1 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.0 cm(-1) (3b)] [the exchange Hamiltonian being of the type H? = -J(S?(i)·S?(j))]. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been used to substantiate the nature and magnitude of the exchange magnetic coupling observed in 1-3b and also to analyze the dependence of the exchange magnetic coupling on the structural parameters of the Fe-C-N-M skeleton.  相似文献

Ditopic oximehydrazonate iron(II) phthalocyaninoclathrochelates were synthesized by a transmetallation (a capping group exchange) reaction of the initial labile triethylantimony-capped clathrochelate iron(II) oximehydrazonates with lutetium(III) phthalocyanine as a Lewis acid. The complexes obtained were characterized using elemental analysis, PD and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometries, IR, UV–Vis, 57Fe Mössbauer, and 1H, 13C{1H} NMR spectroscopies. An encapsulated iron(II) ion was found to be in a low-spin state. The cyclic voltammograms show oxidation and reduction waves assignable to Fe2+/3+ couples of macrobicyclic framework and to phthalocyanine macrocycles.  相似文献

The reaction of [Fe(III)L(CN)(3)](-) (L being bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate, pcq = 8-(pyridine-2-carboxamido)quinoline) or [Fe(III)(bpb)(CN)(2)](-) (bpb = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate) ferric complexes with Mn(III) salen type complexes afforded seven new bimetallic cyanido-bridged Mn(III)-Fe(III) systems: [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH (1), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(3-MeO-salen)(OH(2))]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O (2), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(salpen)] (3), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)] (4), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CHCl(3) (5), [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH·0.75H(2)O (6), and [Fe(bpb)(CN)(2)Mn(saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH (7) (with saltmen(2-) = N,N'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salpen(2-) = N,N'-propylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salen(2-) = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion). Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies were carried out for all these compounds indicating that compounds 1 and 2 are discrete dinuclear [Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)] complexes while systems 3-7 are heterometallic chains with {-NC-Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)} repeating units. These chains are connected through π-π and short contact interactions to form extended supramolecular networks. Investigation of the magnetic properties revealed the occurrence of antiferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions in 1-4 while ferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions were detected in 5-7. The nature of these Mn(III)···Fe(III) magnetic interactions mediated by a CN bridge appeared to be dependent on the Schiff base substituent. The packing is also strongly affected by the nature of the substituent and the presence of solvent molecules, resulting in additional antiferromagnetic interdinuclear/interchain interactions. Thus the crystal packing and the supramolecular interactions induce different magnetic properties for these systems. The dinuclear complexes 1 and 2, which possess a paramagnetic S(T) = 3/2 ground state, interact antiferromagnetically in their crystal packing. At high temperature, the complexes 3-7 exhibit a one-dimensional magnetic behavior, but at low temperature their magnetic properties are modulated by the supramolecular arrangement: a three-dimensional antiferromagnetic order with a metamagnetic behavior is observed for 3, 4, and 7, and Single-Chain Magnet properties are detected for 5 and 6.  相似文献

A [(P)Fe(III)-Mn(II)] bimetallic complex, mimicking the active site of manganese peroxidase, has been synthesized. A modified highly fluorinated porphyrin, 5,10,15-tris(pentafluorophenyl)-20-(o-aminophenyl)porphyrin, has been used to introduce, through a short spacer linked to the amino function, a manganese auxiliary ligand, 6-aminomethyl-2,2'-bipyridine. Two successive metalations by FeCl(2) and MnCl(2) afforded the [(P)Fe(III)-Mn(II)] bimetallic complex that has been characterized by elemental analysis and FAB(+) mass spectrometry. X-band EPR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements were in agreement with two high spin Fe(III) and Mn(II) centers without magnetic exchange interaction. Moreover, there is no higher intermolecular association through &mgr;-chloro bridging as observed by EPR with a simpler chloromanganese complex, Mn(bipy)(2)Cl(2), at high concentration. Addition of pentafluoroiodosobenzene in methanol at 0 degrees C led to the progressive and complete disappearance of the EPR Mn(II) signals, that were recovered after addition of a phenol. This result is consistent with Mn(III) formation. This production of Mn(III) requires the presence of the iron porphyrin and is proposed to occur through the intermediate formation of a Fe(IV) dimethoxide species which can be related to the oxidation of Mn(II) catalyzed by manganese peroxidase compound II.  相似文献
