We consider tensors T=fg on the pseudo-euclidean space Rn and on the hyperbolic space Hn, where n?3, g is the standard metric and f is a differentiable function. For such tensors, we consider, in both spaces, the problems of existence of a Riemannian metric , conformal to g, such that , and the existence of such a metric which satisfies , where is the scalar curvature of . We find the restrictions on the Ricci candidate for solvability and we construct the solutions when they exist. We show that these metrics are unique up to homothety, we characterize those globally defined and we determine the singularities for those which are not globally defined. None of the non-homothetic metrics , defined on Rn or Hn, are complete. As a consequence of these results, we get positive solutions for the equation , where g is the pseudo-euclidean metric.  相似文献

Let be a holomorphic foliation with reduced singularities on a complex surface M and a real analytic codimension one foliation on M whose leaves contain the ones of . We show that a Levi flat group of diffeomorphisms of is resoluble and holomorphically conjugate to his normal form. We deduce, in one hand, that each singularity of  is conjugate to his normal form. In the other hand at each singularity m of , where is not defined, up a conjugacy, by the one form ω=xdy+ydx, one of the local invariant curves of , with non obvious holonomy, is contained in the set of singularities of . Moreover if M is a compact Stein variety we show, under some generic conditions, that has a 1-Liouvillian first integrating factor.  相似文献

Let be a locally strongly convex hypersurface, given by a strictly convex function xn+1=f(x1,…,xn) defined in a convex domain ΩAn. We consider the Riemannian metric G# on M, defined by . In this paper we prove that if M is a locally strongly convex surface with constant affine mean curvature and if M is complete with respect to the metric G#, then M must be an elliptic paraboloid.  相似文献

Given a generalized Robertson-Walker spacetime whose warping function verifies a certain convexity condition, we classify strongly stable spacelike hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature. More precisely, we will show that given a closed, strongly stable spacelike hypersurface of with constant mean curvature H, if the warping function ? satisfying ??max{H?,0} along M, then Mn is either maximal or a spacelike slice Mt0={t0F, for some t0I.  相似文献

We discuss the measure theoretic metric invariants extent, rendezvous number and mean distance of a general compact metric space X and relate these to classical metric invariants such as diameter and radius. In the final section we focus attention to the category of Riemannian manifolds. The main result of this paper is Theorem 4 stating that the round sphere of constant curvature 1 has maximal mean distance among Riemannian n-manifolds with Ricci curvature Ric?n−1, and that such a manifold is diffeomorphic to a sphere if the mean distance is close to .  相似文献

Let r be a metric on the hyperbolic 3-space induced from an arbitrary Riemannian metric on a closed hyperbolic 3-manifold. In this paper, we will show that any smooth simple loop in S2 spans a properly embedded r-least area plane in . This solves Gabai's conjecture ((J. Amer. Math. Soc. 10 (1997) 37), Conjecture 3.12), affirmatively.  相似文献

We introduce a functor from the category of braided spaces into the category of braided Hopf algebras which associates to a braided space V a braided Hopf algebra of planar rooted trees . We show that the Nichols algebra of V is a subquotient of . We construct a Hopf pairing between and , generalising one of the results of [Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 193-239]. When the braiding of c is given by c(vivj)=qi,jvjvi, we obtain a quantification of the Hopf algebras introduced in [Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 193-239; 126 (2002) 249-288]. When qi,j=qai,j, with q an indeterminate and (ai,j)i,j the Cartan matrix of a semi-simple Lie algebra , then is a subquotient of . In this case, we construct the crossed product of with a torus and then the Drinfel'd quantum double of this Hopf algebra. We show that is a subquotient of .  相似文献

Let γ be the Gauss measure on and the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator. For every p in [1,∞)?{2}, set , and consider the sector . The main results of this paper are the following. If p is in (1,∞)?{2}, and , i.e., if M is an Lp(γ)uniform spectral multiplier of in our terminology, and M is continuous on , then M extends to a bounded holomorphic function on the sector . Furthermore, if p=1 a spectral multiplier M, continuous on , satisfies the condition if and only if M extends to a bounded holomorphic function on the right half-plane, and its boundary value M(i·) on the imaginary axis is the Euclidean Fourier transform of a finite Borel measure on the real line. We prove similar results for uniform spectral multipliers of second order elliptic differential operators in divergence form on belonging to a wide class, which contains . From these results we deduce that operators in this class do not admit an H functional calculus in sectors smaller than .  相似文献

We study interlacing properties of the zeros of two types of linear combinations of Laguerre polynomials with different parameters, namely and . Proofs and numerical counterexamples are given in situations where the zeros of Rn, and Sn, respectively, interlace (or do not in general) with the zeros of , , k=n or n−1. The results we prove hold for continuous, as well as integral, shifts of the parameter α.  相似文献

We establish that, given a compact Abelian group G endowed with a continuous length function l and a sequence (Hn)nN of closed subgroups of G converging to G for the Hausdorff distance induced by l, then is the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff limit of any sequence for the natural quantum metric structures and when the lifts of σn to converge pointwise to σ. This allows us in particular to approximate the quantum tori by finite-dimensional C*-algebras for the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff distance. Moreover, we also establish that if the length function l is allowed to vary, we can collapse quantum metric spaces to various quotient quantum metric spaces.  相似文献

Let M be a complete Riemannian manifold and let N be a Riemannian manifold of non-positive sectional curvature. Assume that at all xM and at some point x0M, where μ0>0 is the least eigenvalue of the Laplacian acting on L2-functions on M. Let 2?q?p. Then any q-harmonic map of finite q-energy is constant. Moreover, if N is a Riemannian manifold of non-positive scalar curvature, then any q-harmonic morphism of finite q-energy is constant.  相似文献

Let be a CR mapping between real analytic generic submanifolds M, M1 of and , respectively. According to Webster's theory (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 86 (1982) 236-240) and its further developments, f has holomorphic extension to a full neighborhood of M in when the following requirements are fulfilled: f extends to a wedge W continuous up to M; f is of class Ck; (where denotes the complex tangent bundle); M1 is “k-nondegenerate.” We deal here with the case where is strictly smaller than but is still real analytic in suitable sense. We show that a suitably refined condition of k-nondegeneracy still entails holomorphic extension of f.  相似文献

A set of the form , where is convex and denotes the integer lattice, is called a convex lattice set. It is known that the Helly number of d-dimensional convex lattice sets is 2d. We prove that the fractional Helly number is only d+1: For every d and every α∈(0,1] there exists β>0 such that whenever F1,…,Fn are convex lattice sets in such that for at least index sets I⊆{1,2,…,n} of size d+1, then there exists a (lattice) point common to at least βn of the Fi. This implies a (p,d+1)-theorem for every p?d+1; that is, if is a finite family of convex lattice sets in such that among every p sets of , some d+1 intersect, then has a transversal of size bounded by a function of d and p.  相似文献

Let R=?nN0Rn be a Noetherian homogeneous ring with local base ring (R0,m0) and irrelevant ideal R+, let M be a finitely generated graded R-module. In this paper we show that is Artinian and is Artinian for each i in the case where R+ is principal. Moreover, for the case where , we prove that, for each iN0, is Artinian if and only if is Artinian. We also prove that is Artinian, where and c is the cohomological dimension of M with respect to R+. Finally we present some examples which show that and need not be Artinian.  相似文献
