Abstract

Reduction of sugar aldoximes gave in good yield the corresponding terminal deoxy hydroxyamino sugars. These compounds were found to be reasonably stable (they could be kept for some weeks at 4° C). On standing in the air, these compounds in solution were spontaneously oxidized to the corresponding nitroxide free radicals whose ESR spectra gave useful structural information.  相似文献

Treated with 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-bis-(hydroxylamino)-butane, aldehydo-dialdofuranoses ( 1 ) gave a mixture of two compounds: a 1,3-dihydroxyimidazolidine ( 2 ) and a 1-hydroxyimidazoline ( 3 ). Oxidation (PbO2) of compounds 3 gave stable free radicals having the structure of 2-C-Glycosyl-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazolines 1-oxyl ( 4 ), whereas 2-C-Glycosyl-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazolines 3-oxide 1-oxyl ( 5 ) were formed by oxidation of 2 . The ESR. spectra of compounds 4 and 5 establish the structure of the imidazoline part of these radicals and provide informations on the sugar moiety.  相似文献

Free sugar radicals. V. Deoxyhydroxylaminosugar derivatives and related compounds We describe several synthetic routes to deoxyhydroxylaminosugar derivatives of the type Glyc-N(OH)-R where Glyc stands for a sugar moiety linked by any of its C-atoms except the anomeric one and R for one of the following substituants: H-atom, acyl, phosphoryl groups, aminoacid or sugar residues. Compounds of the above structure are potentially close analogs, homoisosteres, ? NOH? replacing ? O? , of biochemically important molecules. Under aerobic conditions, solutions of these derivatives contain minute concentrations of the corresponding nitroxide radicals which do not decrease significantly the resolution of the NMR. spectra but render these compounds usable as a new kind of spin labels. Spectroscopic properties (1H-NMR., 13C-NMR., ESR.) of some of these compounds are reported.  相似文献

Sugar Free Radicals. VIII. Spin-Labeled Nucleosides Analogs A series of 5′-deoxy-5′-hydroxylamino derivatives of adenosine and uridine have been prepared by reduction of the corresponding oxime or nitrone. ‘Second generation’ 3′-deoxy-3′-N-aryl(or N-alkyl) hydroxylamino-β-D -xylofuranosyluracils have also been synthesized by a one-pot reaction including the following elementary steps: deblocking of the starting material, reduction of the 3′-deoxy-3′-oximinouridine, condensation of the resulting hydroxylamine with an aldehyde, reduction of the nitrone formed. The deoxy-hydroxylaminonucleosides oxidized spontaneously in the air (or in presence of traces of PbO2) to give the corresponding nitroxide free radicals, ESR spectra of which furnished useful informations on their structures. Some of these modified nucleosides bore notable cytotoxic or antiviral activities.  相似文献

Stable nitroxide radicals were obtained by the oxidation of 1-hydroxy-2,2-diphenylquinolines prepared by allowing the PhMgBr to act upon a number of 2-phenylquinoline-N-oxides in THF. Methyl-, ethyl- and benzyl-magnesium compounds gave rise to other nitroxides which were identified from their ESR spectra, but not isolated in the solid state. t-Butyl-magnesium chloride reacted with quinoline-N-oxides giving only the deoxidation products. The ESR spectra of numerous nitroxide radicals were interperted and discussed.  相似文献

Stable nitroxide radicals were obtained by the oxidation of 1-hydroxyindolines prepared by allowing the organo-metallic compounds to act upon 2-phenylisatogen and arylimino-derivatives. In both cases nitroxides are obtained with a N of approximately 9 gauss, in agreement with similar known compounds. The ESR spectra of numerous nitroxide radicals are discussed and a number of cases of magnetic non-equivalence of methylenic protons adjacent to asymmetric carbon are brought to light.  相似文献

Electrochemical and spectroscopic (EPR, UV–Vis, IR) studies of the aromatic secondary amines N,N′-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine (DPPD), N-phenyl-N′-isopropyl-p-phenylene diamine (IPPD), N-phenyl-N′-(α-methylbenzyl)-p-phenylenediamine (SPPD) and N-phenyl-N′-(1,3-dimethyl-butyl)-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD), which represent the most important group of antioxidants used in the rubber industry, are presented. During oxidation, all the compounds show reversible redox couples in acetonitrile/0.1 M TBABF4. The first oxidation potential depends substantially on the R substituent at the –N′H– moiety. Very similar UV–VIS spectra of monocation radicals and dications for all the compounds were observed by applying anodic oxidation as well as oxidation by tert-butyl hydroperoxide both in air and in inert atmosphere. The samples with N′-bonded aliphatic carbon in the molecule (e.g. IPPD) heated in air undergo consecutive chemical reactions leading to the formation of –N′C– group. By the use of RO2 radicals only very low concentration of nitroxide radicals was obtained. Very high concentration of nitroxide radicals was achieved using 3-chloroperbenzoic acid. In the oxidation of investigated aromatic secondary amines with powder PbO2 no EPR spectra were observed and UV–Vis and IR studies indicate the rapid formation of the final dehydrogenated oxidation product.  相似文献

The properties of phenoxyl radicals generated by the oxidation of mono-, di-, and triphosphorus derivatives of 2,6-di(tert-butyl)-4-methylphenol (ionol) were studied by ESR. These compounds exist as conformers that are interconvertible with a temperature-dependent rate. Numerical processing of the ESR spectra gave the thermodynamic and activation parameters that characterize the interconversion of the conformers. The antioxidant activities of the compounds were studied in a model oxidation of oleic acid and with biological objects. These phenols efficiently inhibited radical oxidation reactions. The synthesis of branched-chain sugars of the gem-hydroxy-formyl and the gem-hydroxy-hydroxymethyl types is described. A 5-deoxy-1,2-O-isopropylidene-furanos-3-ulose is treated with cyanomethylene-triphenyl-phosphorane, yielding the two geometrical isomers of the corresponding branched-chain unsaturated sugar. Cis-dihydroxylation(KMnO4) of these cyanomethylenic compounds affords stereoselectively and in high yield the gem-hydroxy-formyl branched chain sugars whose formyl group is on the more hindered face of the furanose ring. The hydroxymethyl analogues of the latter compounds are readily prepared by their borohydride reduction. This method constitutes a new general route to type A branched-chain sugars epimeric at the branching-point with the sugars which would have been obtained by the classical procedure involving Grignard reagents.  相似文献

Ionic species in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) have been studied by optical absorption and ESR spectrometry. γ-Irradiation of PMMA containing aromatic solutes gave rise to the absorption spectra of corresponding cation radicals. The G value for the formation of cation radicals was determined to be 1.5. Anionic radicals of the solutes were not detected for the aromatic solutes studied. Anionic species of pure PMMA were identified by both absorption spectra and ESR spectra. It has an absorption maximum at 440 nm. A sharp singlet with a line width of about 5 G which was found by ESR spectrometry was tentatively assigned to the trapped electron of PMMA. The results show that a large number of electron traps in PMMA may exist on the ester side chain themselves.  相似文献

Abstract

Deoxy hydroxyamino sugars represent a potentially useful series of sugar analogs owing mainly to the fact that they oxidize spontaneously to nitroxide free radicals to give spin-labeled sugar derivatives whose structure is very close to that of the parent sugar.3 We describe herin two synthetic pathways towards these compounds, reduction of sugar oximes and conjugate addition to enolones derivatives, both in the pyranose series.  相似文献

Benzimidazole and benzothiazole sugar derivatives Simple aldehydosugars such as 1 or 2 , by reaction with o-phenylenediamine, gave the corresponding benzimidazoles 3 and 4 . Whereas the unperturbed α, β-unsaturated aldehydosugar D gave the benzodiazepine E upon treatment with o-phenylenediamine, the formyl-bearing alkenyl acetals 5 and 8 led, in the same conditions, to the benzimidazoles 6 and 9 respectively or, on reaction with o-aminothiophenol, to the benzothiazoles 7 and 10 respectively. This difference in reactivity is explained by the electrondonor ability of the oxygen atom of the alkenyl acetal function as shown by the 13C-RMN. spectra.  相似文献

The multispin systems consisting of spin-correlated radical pairs (SCRPs) and stable nitroxide radicals, localized in micelles of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), were studied by ESR and pulse laser photolysis techniques. In all the systems studied, the stable nitroxide radicals exert no effect on the shape of the ESR spectra of the SCRPs (in particular, on the shape of their antiphase structure) and on the decay kinetics of the ESR signal of the SCRPs. In the SDS micelles, the electron spin polarization transfer from the nonequilibrium electron spin states of the molecular triplets (SCRP precursors) is the most efficient mechanism of generation of the electron spin polarization in nitroxide radicals. The experimental data also show that the nitroxide radicals and SCRP radicals are most probably distributed uniformly in the micellar phase. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Blends of poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) with copolymer poly(styrene‐co‐4‐vinyl phenol) (STVPh) have been studied by electron spin resonance (ESR) spin probe method and Raman spectroscopy. The ESR results indicated that the nitroxide radical existed in a PPC‐rich and an STVPh‐rich micro domain in the blends, corresponding to the fast‐motion and slow‐motion component in the ESR spectra, respectively. And in the temperature dependence composite spectra, the fast‐motion fraction increased with increasing the hydroxyl group content in copolymer STVPh. Moreover, the ESR parameter T5mT, rotational correlation times (τc) and activation energies (Ea) showed similar dependence on the hydroxyl group content as the fast‐motion fraction. It resulted from the enhancement of the hydrogen‐bonding interaction between the hydroxyl groups in STVPh and the carboxyl groups and ether oxygen in PPC. However, the distinct band shift and intensity change among the Raman spectra of pure polymer components and those of the blends were observed. In the carboxyl‐stretching region, the band shifted to lower frequency with increasing the hydroxyl groups. Furthermore, the phase morphologies of the blends were obtained by optical microscopy. All could be concluded that the hydrogen‐bonding interaction between the two components was progressively favorable to the mixing process and was the driving force for the miscibility enhancement in the blends. The methods of cyclic voltammetry, ESR electrolysis, and quantum chemical simulation were used to study the tert-butanol (tert-BuOH) oxidation mechanism in the presence of mediator cation radicals of pyrazine-di-N-oxide, 2,5-di-Me- and 2,3,5,6-tetra-Me-pyrazine-di-N-oxdides. This study was carried out on carbon glass (CG) and Pt electrodes in 0.1 M LiClO4 solution in acetonitrile and on Au electrode in tert-butanol containing 0.05 M LiClO4. The ESR spectra of cation and anion radicals of aromatic di-N-oxides were recorded in tert-BuOH. The quantum chemical simulation of the reaction between pyrazine-di-N-oxide radical cation and C-H bond in tert-BuOH was performed. The results were explained in the terms of the general two-electron oxidation mechanism of tert-BuOH in the complex with aromatic di-N-oxide cation radical as mediator.  相似文献

Enamino- and Halogenoacetylenic sugars Traitment of an aldehydosugar ( 1 ) with secondary amines gave in an essentially quantitative yield the expected enamines ( 4–6 ). Chloro- and bromo-acetylenic sugars ( 11–14 ) were obtained in good yields by reacting with lithium methylphenylamide the corresponding gem-dihalo-olefinic sugars ( 7–10 ), whereas a Z-gem-fluoro-enamine ( 17 ) was formed when the difluoro-olefinic sugar 15 was submitted to the same reaction. The fluoro-enamine 17 is a useful synthetic intermediate allowing the preparation of several kinds of C-glycosylic compounds bearing heterocycles like isoxazole, chromone or coumarin.  相似文献

Well-resolved electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra of propagating radicals of vinyl and diene compounds were observed in a single scan by a conventional CW-ESR spectrometry without the aid of computer accumulation and the specially designed cavity and cells. Although solvents which could be used for ESR measurements were restricted to nonpolar solvents, such as benzene, toluene, and hexane, new information on dynamic behavior and reactivity of the propagating radicals in the radical polymerization of vinyl and diene compounds were obtained. Thus, values of propagation rate constants (kp) for vinyl and diene compounds were determined by an ESR method. Some of the kp values were in a fair agreement with those obtained by a pulsed laser polymerization (PLP) method. Furthermore, polymer chain effect on apparent kp was clearly observed in the radical polymerization of macromonomers and in the microemulsion polymerization. In ESR measurement on inclusion polymerization system, important information on the origin of the 9-line spectrum observed in the radical polymerization of methacrylate propagating radicals was obtained.  相似文献

4‐Oxoquinoline derivatives (quinolones) represent heterocyclic compounds with a variety of biological activities, along with interesting chemical reactivity. The quinolone derivatives possessing secondary amino hydrogen at the nitrogen of the enaminone system are oxidized with 3‐chloroperbenzoic acid to nitroxide radicals in the primary step while maintaining their 4‐pyridone ring. Otherwise, N‐methyl substituted quinolones also form nitroxide radicals coupled with the opening of the 4‐pyridone ring in a gradual oxidation of the methyl group via the nitrone–nitroxide spin‐adduct cycle. This was confirmed in an analogous oxidation using N,N‐dimethylaniline as a model compound. Macrocyclic CuII compounds of the type Cu(L4)Cl2 (where L4 = N4 or N2O2 donor macrocyclic ligand) have been synthesized by treating the corresponding macrocycles with copper chloride in methanol. These compounds were characterized with the help of elemental analysis, i.r., mass, ESR, electronic spectra, conductance, magnetic and thermal studies. Distorted octahedral geometry has been proposed for all of these compounds. These compounds were found to be efficient in the catalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid and the percentage yields of oxidation products were determined spectrophotometrically. The biological activities of these compounds have been tested against gram +ve and gram −ve bacteria and found to be more active when compared with commercially available antibacterials like streptomycin and ampicillin.  相似文献

The reactivity of nitroxide radical trapping (NRT), where stable nitroxide radicals react with transient carbon-centered radicals to form diamagnetic molecules, was evaluated. This was done with the use of the steric substituent parameter of both radicals by correlation analysis on the basis of the reactivity data determined by Ingold's group. In the case where the transient carbon-centered radicals were not resonance stabilized, the rate constant could be well correlated by using only ΩS parameters of R2NO⋅ and U⋅. If the transient radicals were stabilized by resonance, the parameter to estimate the amount of the resonance stabilization of U⋅ was necessary in the regression equation to evaluate the reactivity correctly. When the spin density, calculated by PM3 UHF molecular orbital calculations, was used as the resonance stabilization parameter, the rate constant could be well evaluated by a dual-parameter regression equation. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
