In this paper we first provide a geometric interpretation of the Minty-Browder monotonicity which allows us to extend this concept to the so called h-monotonicity, still formulated in an analytic way. A topological concept of monotonicity is also known in the literature: it requires the connectedness of all preimages of the operator involved. This fact is important since combined with the local injectivity, it ensures global injectivity. When a linear structure is present on the source space, one can ask for the preimages to even be convex. In an earlier paper, the authors have shown that Minty-Browder monotone operators defined on convex open sets do have convex preimages, obtaining as a by-product global injectivity theorems. In this paper we study the preimages of h-monotone operators, by showing that they are not divisible by closed connected hypersurfaces, and investigate them from the dimensional point of view. As a consequence we deduce that h-monotone local homeomorphisms are actually global homeomorphisms, as the proved properties of their preimages combined with local injectivity still produce global injectivity.  相似文献

In this work, we present some new versions of fixed point theorems for nonexpansive maps and 1-set contractions defined on closed, convex, not necessarily bounded subsets of Banach spaces. Our proofs rely on a compactness result for an approximate fixed point set. The Kuratowski measure of noncompactness is used throughout. To illustrate the results obtained, some applications to Banach algebras and Hammerstein integral equations are provided.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the existence of solutions of generalized variational inequality for upper semicontinuous multivalued mappings with compact contractible values over compact convex subsets in a reflexive Banach space with a Fréchet differentiable norm. Moreover, we give some conditions that guarantee the existence of solutions of generalized variational inequality for upper semicontinuous multivalued mappings with compact contractible values over unbounded closed convex subsets. The result obtained in this paper improves and extends the recent ones announced by Yu and Yang [J. Yu, H. Yang, Existence of solutions for generalized variational inequality problems, Nonlinear Anal., 71 (2009) e2327-e2330] and many others.  相似文献

The authors define a concept of relative topological degree of set-valued compact vector fields with respect to a closed convex subset in a locally convex topological vector space. Using this concept, they extend the concept of degree of ultimately compact vector fields introduced by Sadovskii and generalized by Petryshyn and Fitzpatrick. The authors also establish a fixed point theorem of the Kakutani-Fan type and a generalized Borsuk fixed point theorem for ultimately compact operators.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new class of generalized implicit vector variational-like inequalities in Hausdorff topological vector spaces and Banach spaces which contain implicit vector equilibrium problems, implicit vector variational inequalities and implicit vector complementarity problems as special cases. We derive some new results by using the KKM–Fan theorem, under compact and noncompact assumptions on underlying convex sets.  相似文献

Common fixed point results for families of single-valued nonexpansive or quasi-nonexpansive mappings and multivalued upper semicontinuous, almost lower semicontinuous or nonexpansive mappings are proved either in CAT(0) spaces or R-trees. It is also shown that the fixed point set of quasi-nonexpansive self-mapping of a nonempty closed convex subset of a CAT(0) space is always nonempty closed and convex.  相似文献

The concept of continuous set has been used in finite dimension by Gale and Klee and recently by Auslender and Coutat. Here, we introduce the notion of slice-continuous set in a reflexive Banach space and we show that the class of such sets can be viewed as a subclass of the class of continuous sets. Further, we prove that every nonconstant real-valued convex and continuous function, which has a global minima, attains its infimum on every nonempty convex and closed subset of a reflexive Banach space if and only if its nonempty level sets are slice-continuous. Thereafter, we provide a new separation property for closed convex sets, in terms of slice-continuity, and conclude this article by comments.  相似文献

Assume that X is a real Banach space with uniformly normal structure and C is a nonempty closed convex subset of X. We show that a κ-uniformly Lipschitzian semigroup of nonlinear self-mappings of C admits a common fixed point if the semigroup has a bounded orbit and if κ is appropriately greater than one. Towards Lim     
The paper contains an elegant extension of the Nadler fixed point theorem for multivalued contractions (see Theorem 21). It is based on a new idea of the α-step mappings (see Definition 17) being more efficient than α-contractions. In the present paper this theorem is a tool in proving some fixed point theorems for “nonexpansive” mappings in the bead spaces (metric spaces that, roughly speaking, are modelled after convex sets in uniformly convex spaces). More precisely the mappings are nonexpansive on a set with respect to only one point - the centre of this set (see condition (4)). The results are pretty general. At first we assume that the value of the mapping under consideration at this central point looks “sharp” (see Definition 6). This idea leads to a group of theorems (based on Theorem 7). Their proofs are compact and the theorems, in particular, are natural extensions of the classical results for (usual) nonexpansive mappings. In the second part we apply the idea of Lim to investigate the regular sequences and here the proofs are based on our extension of Nadler's Theorem. In consequence we obtain some fixed point theorems that generalise the classical Lim Theorem for multivalued nonexpansive mappings (see e.g. Theorem 26).  相似文献

In this paper, we provide a new result of the existence of equilibria for set-valued maps on bounded closed subsets K of Hilbert spaces. We do not impose either convexity or compactness assumptions on K but we assume that K has epi-Lipschitz sections, i.e. its intersection with suitable finite dimensional spaces is locally the epigraph of Lipschitz functions. In finite dimensional spaces, the famous Brouwer theorem asserts the existence of a fixed point for a continuous function from a compact convex set K to itself. Our result could be viewed as a kind of generalization of this classical result in the context of Hilbert spaces and when the function (or the set-valued map) does not necessarily map K into itself (K is not invariant under the map). Our approach is based firstly on degree theory for compact and for condensing set-valued maps and secondly on flows generated by trajectories of differential inclusions.  相似文献

We discuss the spectral subspace perturbation problem for a self-adjoint operator. Assuming that the convex hull of a part of its spectrum does not intersect the remainder of the spectrum, we establish an a priori sharp bound on variation of the corresponding spectral subspace under off-diagonal perturbations. This bound represents a new, a priori, tan Θ Theorem. We also extend the Davis–Kahan tan 2Θ Theorem to the case of some unbounded perturbations.  相似文献

It is a known fact that the method of alternating projections introduced long ago by von Neumann fails to converge strongly for two arbitrary nonempty, closed and convex subsets of a real Hilbert space. In this paper, a new iterative process for finding common zeros of two maximal monotone operators is introduced and strong convergence results associated with it are proved. If the two operators are subdifferentials of indicator functions, this new algorithm coincides with the old method of alternating projections. Several other important algorithms, such as the contraction proximal point algorithm, occur as special cases of our algorithm. Hence our main results generalize and unify many results that occur in the literature.  相似文献

We give a formula for the Lipschitz constant in Thompson's part metric of any order-preserving flow on the interior of a (possibly infinite dimensional) closed convex pointed cone. This shows that in the special case of order-preserving flows, a general characterization of the contraction rate in Thompson's part metric, given by Nussbaum, leads to an explicit formula. As an application, we show that the flow of the generalized Riccati equation arising in stochastic linear quadratic control is a local contraction on the cone of positive definite matrices and characterize its Lipschitz constant by a matrix inequality. We also show that the same flow is no longer a contraction in other invariant Finsler metrics on this cone, including the standard invariant Riemannian metric. This is motivated by a series of contraction properties concerning the standard Riccati equation, established by Bougerol, Liverani, Wojtkowski, Lawson, Lee and Lim: we show that some of these properties do, and that some other do not, carry over to the generalized Riccati equation.  相似文献

The partial KKM principle for an abstract convex space is an abstract form of the classical KKM theorem. A KKM space is an abstract convex space satisfying the partial KKM principle and its “open” version. In this paper, we clearly derive a sequence of a dozen statements which characterize the KKM spaces and equivalent formulations of the partial KKM principle. As their applications, we add more than a dozen statements including generalized formulations of von Neumann minimax theorem, von Neumann intersection lemma, the Nash equilibrium theorem, and the Fan type minimax inequalities for any KKM spaces. Consequently, this paper unifies and enlarges previously known several proper examples of such statements for particular types of KKM spaces.  相似文献

In this note, we deal with an iterative scheme of Halpern type for a semigroup of nonexpansive mappings on a compact convex subset of a strictly convex and smooth Banach space with respect to an asymptotically left invariant sequence of means defined on an appropriate space of bounded real valued functions of the semigroup. We improve the corresponding result of [A.T. Lau, H. Miyake, W.
