We present an exact analytical solution of the fundamental system of quasi-one-dimensional spin-1 bosons with infinite delta repulsion. The eigenfunctions are constructed from the wave functions of noninteracting spinless fermions, based on Girardeau's Fermi-Bose mapping. We show that the spinor bosons behave like a compound of noninteracting spinless fermions and noninteracting distinguishable spins. This duality is especially reflected in the spin densities and the energy spectrum. We find that the momentum distribution of the eigenstates depends on the symmetry of the spin function. Furthermore, we discuss the splitting of the ground state multiplet in the regime of large but finite repulsion.  相似文献

Using an exact Bethe ansatz solution, we rigorously study excitation spectra of the spin-1/2 Fermi gas (called Yang–Gaudin model) with an attractive interaction. Elementary excitations of this model involve particle-hole excitation, hole excitation and adding particles in the Fermi seas of pairs and unpaired fermions. The gapped magnon excitations in the spin sector show a ferromagnetic coupling to the Fermi sea of the single fermions. By numerically and analytically solving the Bethe ansatz equations and the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations of this model, we obtain excitation energies for various polarizations in the phase of the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov-like state. For a small momentum (long-wavelength limit) and in the strong interaction regime, we analytically obtained their linear dispersions with curvature corrections, effective masses as well as velocities in particle-hole excitations of pairs and unpaired fermions. Such a type of particle-hole excitations display a novel separation of collective motions of bosonic modes within paired and unpaired fermions. Finally, we also discuss magnon excitations in the spin sector and the application of Bragg spectroscopy for testing such separated charge excitation modes of pairs and single fermions.  相似文献

The ground and excited states of a one-dimensional (1D) spin-1/2 Fermi gas (SFG) with both attractive zero-range odd-wave interactions and repulsive zero-range even-wave interactions are mapped exactly to a 1D Lieb-Liniger-Heisenberg (LLH) model with delta-function repulsions depending on isotropic Heisenberg spin-spin interactions, such that the complete SFG and LLH energy spectra are identical. The ground state in the ferromagnetic phase is given exactly by the Lieb-Liniger (LL) Bethe ansatz, and that in the antiferromagnetic phase by a variational method combining Bethe ansatz solutions of the LL and 1D Heisenberg models. There are excitation branches corresponding to LL type I and II phonons and spin waves, the latter behaving quadratically for small wave numbers in the ferromagnetic phase and linearly in the antiferromagnetic phase.  相似文献

We construct an integrable quantum spin chain that includes the nearest-neighbor, next-nearest-neighbor, chiral three-spin couplings, Dzyloshinsky-Moriya interactions and unparallel boundary magnetic fields. Although the interactions in bulk materials are isotropic, the spins nearby the boundary fields are polarized, which induce the anisotropic exchanging interactions of the first and last bonds. The U(1) symmetry of the system is broken because of the off-diagonal boundary reflections. Using the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz, we obtain an exact solution to the system. The inhomogeneous T-Q relation and Bethe ansatz equations are given explicitly. We also calculate the ground state energy. The method given in this paper provides a general way to construct new integrable models with certain interesting interactions.  相似文献

For the exactly solved reduced BCS model an electrostatic analogy exists; in particular it served to obtain the exact thermodynamic limit of the model from the Richardson Bethe ansatz equations. We present an electrostatic analogy for a wider class of integrable Hamiltonians with pairing force interactions. We apply it to obtain the exact thermodynamic limit of this class of models. To verify the analytical results, we compare them with numerical solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for finite systems at half-filling for the ground state.  相似文献

The mechanism by which systems of spinless bosons with isospin and spinless magnetic monopoles acquire a spin in their ground states is investigated in the context of SU(2) gauge models. Contrary to recent claims, it is demonstrated that isospin degrees of freedom are not converted into spin degrees of freedom. For a spin 12 state, solutions are explicitly constructed, exhibiting the isospin degree of freedom.  相似文献

Long-recognized curvature inconsistencies forS3/2 spinor equations are shown to result from an inconsistent transport law for the Infeld-Van der Waerden -symbols implied by conventional spinor derivatives. A curvature-free connection for the -symbols and a simple spinor form of the Levi-Civita connection for spinor fields yields consistent equations for any spin with no curvature restrictions.  相似文献

In this proceeding we present the nested Bethe ansatz for open spin chains of XXX-type, with arbitrary representations (i.e. “spins”) on each site of the chain and diagonal boundary matrices (K +(u), K (u)). The nested Bethe ansatz applies for a general K (u), but a particular form of the K +(u) matrix. We give the eigenvalues, Bethe equations and the form of the Bethe vectors for the corresponding models. The Bethe vectors are expressed using a trace formula  相似文献

We describe the excitations of the generalization of the Heisenberg anisotropic hamiltonian to Zn + 1 spins. We analyse the Bethe ansatz equations without assuming the existence of strings. Excited states above an antiferromagnetic ground state are described by a finite number of parameters, which verify system of equations. We give the energy and momentum of the excitations. In a suitable limit we recover the spectrum of a relativistically invariant theory.  相似文献

We investigate two solvable models for Bose-Einstein condensates and extract physical information by studying the structure of the solutions of their Bethe ansatz equations. A careful observation of these solutions for the ground state of both models, as we vary some parameters of the Hamiltonian, suggests a connection between the behavior of the roots of the Bethe ansatz equations and the physical behavior of the models. Then, by the use of standard techniques for approaching quantum phase transition - gap, entanglement and fidelity - we find that the change in the scenery in the roots of the Bethe ansatz equations is directly related to a quantum phase transition, thus providing an alternative method for its detection.  相似文献

From the open boundary t-J model an impurity model is constructed in which magnetic impurities of arbitrary spins are coupled to the edges of the strongly correlated electron system. The boundary R matrices are given explicitly. The interaction parameters between magnetic impurities and electrons are related to the potentials of the impurities to preserve the integrability of the system. The Hamiltonian of the impurity model is diagonalized exactly. The integral equations of the ground state are derived and the ground state properties are discussed in detail. We discuss also the string solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations, which describe the bound states of the charges and spins. By minimizing the thermodynamic potential we get the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations. The finite size correction of the free energy contributed by the magnetic impurities is obtained explicitly. The properties of the system at some special limits are discussed and the boundary bound states are obtained.  相似文献

Finite-dimensional matrix representations of the Poincaré group are discussed with particular emphasis on the eight-dimensional spinor representation. It is speculated that the complex eight-dimensional representation space might be interpreted as a more fundamental entity than Minkowski space, being in a sense a square root of the latter. One can model the usual position, momentum, and angular momentum variables of a particle of nonzero rest mass and arbitrary spin by real bilinear forms in the 8-spinor components, and obtain their correct equations of motion by subjecting the spinor to a Schrödinger-like evolution equation.  相似文献

The effect of a magnetic field on a spinor exciton-polariton condensate has been investigated. A quenching of a polariton Zeeman splitting and an elliptical polarization of the condensate have been observed at low magnetic fields B<2 T. The effects are attributed to a competition between the magnetic field induced circular polarization buildup and the spin-anisotropic polariton-polariton interaction which favors a linear polarization. The sign of the circular polarization of the condensate emission at B<3 T is negative, suggesting that a dynamic condensation in the excited spin state rather than the ground spin state takes place in this magnetic field range. From about 2T on, the Zeeman splitting opens and from then on the slope of the circular polarization degree changes its sign. For magnetic fields larger than the 3 T, the upper spin state occupation is energetically suppressed and circularly polarized condensation takes place in the ground state.  相似文献

We study a one-dimensional (iso)spin 1/2 Bose gas with repulsive delta-function interaction by the Bethe Ansatz method and discuss the excitations above the polarized ground state. In addition to phonons the system features spin waves with a quadratic dispersion. We compute analytically and numerically the effective mass of the spin wave and show that the spin transport is greatly suppressed in the strong coupling regime, where the isospin-density (or "spin charge") separation is maximal. Using a hydrodynamic approach, we study spin excitations in a harmonically trapped system and discuss prospects for future studies of two-component ultracold atomic gases.  相似文献

A recently presented anisotropic generalization of the multicomponent supersymmetrictJ model in one dimension is investigated. This model of fermions with general spin-S is solved by Bethe ansatz for the ground state and the low-lying excitations. Due to the anisotropy of the interaction the model possesses 2S massive modes and one single gapless excitation. The physical properties indicate the existence of Cooper-type multiplets of 2S+1 fermions with finite binding energy. The critical behaviour is described by ac=1 conformal field theory with continuously varying exponents depending on the particle density. There are two distinct regimes of the phase diagram with dominating density-density and multiplet-multiplet correlations, respectively. The effective mass of the charge carriers is calculated. In comparison to the limit of isotropic interactions the mass is strongly enhanced in general.Work performed within the research program of the Sonderforschungsbereich 341, Köln-Aachen-Jülich  相似文献

We study the exact solution of the Gaudin model with Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya and Kaplan–Shekhtman–Entin–Wohlman–Aharony interactions. The energy and Bethe ansatz equations of the Gaudin model can be obtained via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. Based on the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz solutions, we construct the Bethe states of the inhomogeneous X X X Heisenberg spin chain with the generic open boundaries. By taking a quasi-classical limit, we give explicit closed-form expression of the Bethe states of the Gaudin model. From the numerical simulations for the small-size system, it is shown that some Bethe roots go to infinity when the Gaudin model recovers the U(1) symmetry. Furthermore,it is found that the contribution of those Bethe roots to the Bethe states is a nonzero constant. This fact enables us to recover the Bethe states of the Gaudin model with the U(1) symmetry. These results provide a basis for the further study of the thermodynamic limit, correlation functions, and quantum dynamics of the Gaudin model.  相似文献

We consider one-dimensional interacting Bose-Fermi mixture with equal masses of bosons and fermions, and with equal and repulsive interactions between Bose-Fermi and Bose-Bose particles. Such a system can be realized in current experiments with ultracold Bose-Fermi mixtures. We apply the Bethe ansatz technique to find the exact ground state energy at zero temperature for any value of interaction strength and density ratio between bosons and fermions. We use it to prove the absence of the demixing, contrary to prediction of a mean-field approximation. Combining exact solution with local density approximation in a harmonic trap, we calculate the density profiles and frequencies of collective modes in various limits. In the strongly interacting regime, we predict the appearance of low-lying collective oscillations which correspond to the counterflow of the two species. In the strongly interacting regime, we use exact wavefunction to calculate the single particle correlation functions for bosons and fermions at low temperatures under periodic boundary conditions. Fourier transform of the correlation function is a momentum distribution, which can be measured in time-of-flight experiments or using Bragg scattering. We derive an analytical formula, which allows to calculate correlation functions at all distances numerically for a polynomial time in the system size. We investigate numerically two strong singularities of the momentum distribution for fermions at kf and kf + 2kb. We show, that in strongly interacting regime correlation functions change dramatically as temperature changes from 0 to a small temperature ∼Ef/γ ? Ef, where Ef = (π?n)2/(2m), n is the total density and γ = mg/(?2n) ? 1 is the Lieb-Liniger parameter. A strong change of the momentum distribution in a small range of temperatures can be used to perform a thermometry at very small temperatures.  相似文献

In the early history of spinors it became evident that a single undotted covariant elementary spinor can represent a plane wave of light. Further study of that relation shows that plane electromagnetic waves satisfy the Weyl equation, in a way that indicates the correct spin angular momentum. On the subatomic scale the Weyl equation discloses more detail than the vector equations. The spinor and vector equations are equivalent when applied to plane waves, and more generally (in the absence of sources) on the large scale when the spinors are incoherent.  相似文献

Using solutions of the discrete Bethe ansatz equations, we study in detail the quantum impurity problem of a spin-down fermion immersed into a fully ploarized spin-up Fermi sea with weak attraction. We prove that this impurity fermion in the one-dimensional (1D) fermionic medium behaves like a polaron for weak attraction. However, as the attraction grows, the spin-down fermion binds with one spin-up fermion from the fully-polarized medium to form a tightly bound molecule. Thus it is seen that the system undergos a crossover from a mean field polaron-like nature into a mixture of excess fermions and a bosonic molecule as the attraction changes from weak attraction into strong attraction. This polaron-molecule crossover is universal in 1D many-body systems of interacting fermions. In a thermodynamic limit, we further study the relationship between the Fredholm equations for the 1D spin-1/2 Fermi gas with weakly repulsive and attractive delta-function interactions.  相似文献

The generalization of spinor electrodynamics proposed by V. G. Kaldyshevskii, in which distortion of momentum space is taken into account, is considered. In the heavy-particle approximation, the structure of a possible soliton solution of the equations of motion which is invariant relative to a sequence of permissible groups of transformations is established. Numerical estimates of the mass and magnetic moment of the charged state with spin 1/2 are made.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 10, pp. 97–100, October, 1989.It remains to thank V.
