Boron clusters are proposed as a new concept for the design of magnesium‐battery electrolytes that are magnesium‐battery‐compatible, highly stable, and noncorrosive. A novel carborane‐based electrolyte incorporating an unprecedented magnesium‐centered complex anion is reported and shown to perform well as a magnesium‐battery electrolyte. This finding opens a new approach towards the design of electrolytes whose likelihood of meeting the challenging design targets for magnesium‐battery electrolytes is very high.  相似文献

Magnesium gluconate is a classical pharmaceutical compound used as a source of magnesium for the prevention and treatment of hypomagnesemia. To the best of our knowledge, a robust and reliable liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry technique has not yet been reported for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of magnesium gluconate. This study describes the method development for the LC–ESI–MS/MS analysis of magnesium gluconate using three different reversed-phase HPLC conditions (Method I–III) with comprehensive fragmentation pattern and the structural characterization by NMR spectroscopy. The LC–MS and NMR data were found in accordance with the structure of magnesium gluconate. When magnesium gluconate was dissolved in the acetonitrile and water–methanol solutions, it exists in situ in three different forms: magnesium gluconate itself, gluconic acid, and magnesium gluconate chelate with gluconic acid by a coordinate covalent bond. Method I exhibited pseudo-molecular ion peaks with more magnesium gluconate chelates with gluconic acid, while method II showed an adduct of magnesium gluconate with the solvent along with the molecular ion peak. There was no pseudo-molecular ion peaks found in method III. Thus, method III was found to be the more accurate, robust and reliable LC–MS method for the qualitative and quantitative analysis, structural characterization, and could also be suitable for the pharmacokinetic study of magnesium gluconate. The detailed fragmentation analysis might be useful for the structural characterization of unknown divalent organometallics.  相似文献

A new method for speciation analysis of magnesium species and quantification of free magnesium concentrations in rat plasma was developed by on-line coupling of CE with inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Baseline separation of seven magnesium species was achieved by using a 120 cm (100 microm internal diameter) fused-silica capillary, a 20 kV separation voltage and a solution of 50 mmol/L NaAc-HAc (pH 5.5) as electrolyte buffer. CE-ICP-AES analysis of a rat plasma sample showed the presence of seven magnesium species, one of which was identified as free Mg2+ ion by spiking a Mg2+ standard; the migration time of the Mg2+ peak in the standard and the spiked sample matched with each other. One protein-bound magnesium species in rat plasma is associated with albumin, and the other three species are combined with globulin. The concentration of free magnesium in the plasma was 14.0 mg/L. The other six magnesium species were estimated to be 4-15 mg/L. RSDs of migration time and peak area for the magnesium species from ten replicates were less than 5%. The developed method was also applied to speciation analysis of magnesium species in spiked plasma samples. The recoveries of the free magnesium species in four samples ranged from 95.8 to 103.8%.  相似文献

The characterization of a new irreversible optical absorption-based one-shot sensor for magnesium is described. The magnesium photoactive probe is 7-diethylamino-3-(3,4-ethylendioxybenzoyl)coumarin immobilized in a plasticized polymeric membrane. The magnesium selectivity can be explained in terms of size and charge density of magnesium and charge-separated resonance forms contribution in the excited state of coumarin. The selectivity obtained for magnesium over a variety of naturally occurring species in natural waters meets the requirements for the determination of this ion in water. The one-shot sensor responds between 0.14 and 14mgL(-1) with a sensor-to-sensor reproducibility of 1.3% as [Formula: see text] , at the medium level of the range. The performance of the optical one-shot sensor was tested in the analysis of magnesium in different types of natural waters and soft drinks validating results against a reference procedure.  相似文献

Boron was chosen as fuel owing to its excellent thermodynamic values for combustion. The difficulty of the boron in combustion is the formation of a surface oxide layer, which postpones the combustion process, reducing the performance of the rocket engine. In this paper, magnesium boride was sintered as high-energy fuel as a substitute for boron. The combustion heat and efficiency of magnesium boride and boron were determined using oxygen bomb calorimeter. The combustion characteristics of magnesium boride were investigated by thermal analysis, chemical analysis, XRD, and EDS. Results show that the combustion performance of magnesium boride are better than that of amorphous boron in oxygenated environments. The evaporation of magnesium in magnesium boride combustion process prevent the formation of a closed oxide layer, leading to higher combustion efficiency.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of three groups of electrolyte systems having the ability of electrochemical magnesium deposition, were investigated against the background of galvanotechnical or battery application. Solutions of organomagnesium halides, amidomagnesium halides and magnesium organoborates dissolved in tetrahydrofuran were characterized in terms of conductivity, reversibility of the magnesium deposition process and stability of the electrolytes versus irreversible oxidation. Furthermore the open circuit potential of a magnesium electrode in contact with these electrolytes was measured versus a Ag/Ag+ reference electrode. A high reoxidation efficiency was found for magnesium electrodeposited from solutions of organomagnesium halides and amidomagnesium halides. The solutions of magnesium organoborates were superior in terms of electrical conductivity and oxidation stability, the process of magnesium electrodeposition and reoxidation, however turned out to be poor.  相似文献

为探讨糖尿病肾病 (DN)患者血镁水平 ,以 1 5 9例 2型糖尿病 (T2DM)患者为研究对象 ,用xylidylblue比色法测定了其正常白蛋白尿期、微量白蛋白尿期 (早期DN)、临床DN及晚期DN血镁水平 ,与 2 0例正常对照组相比较 ;同时将 1 1 0例DN患者分为肾功能不全代偿组、失代偿组和肾功能衰竭组 ,将其血镁水平与 1 0 2例慢性肾小球肾炎 (CGN)患者相比较 ,组间比较采用t检验 ;对 79例T2DM正常白蛋白尿期及微量白蛋白尿期患者尿白蛋白排泄率 (UAER)与血镁水平进行了等级相关分析。结果表明 ,T2DM正常白蛋白尿期、早期DN及临床DN血镁水平降低 ,晚期DN血镁水平升高 ,各组与正常对照组相比存在显著性差异 (P <0 0 5或P <0 0 1 ) ;T2DMDN及CGN肾功能不全代偿期、失代偿期及肾功能衰竭期血镁水平渐升高 ,且肾功能处于同一期的DN和CGN相比 ,前者血镁水平均较后者显著降低 (P <0 0 1或P <0 0 5 ) ;T2DM正常白蛋白尿期和微量白蛋白尿期血镁水平与UAER呈负相关 (r=0 5 47,P <0 0 1 )。提示T2DM患者肾功能正常时存在低镁倾向 ,但晚期DN血镁水平升高 ;随着肾功能不全进展 ,DN和CGN患者血镁水平升高 ,但前者血镁水平仍较后者低 ,镁代谢紊乱与DM及其并发症的相互关系有待进一步研究 ;血镁水平测定可否作为DN的早期诊断指标亦  相似文献

Summary The application of several dyestuffs for the detection of magnesium in strongly alkaline medium has been examined. In all cases cobalt and nickel give the same test as magnesium and manganese in some. Methods for the sensitive detection of magnesium in presence of other cations have been discussed. Titan yellow is a very delicate reagent for magnesium and more specific than 1·2·5·8 oxyanthraquinone. The latter reacts also with beryllium, lanthanum and cadmium, whereas these elements do not form a colored compound with titan yellow. A mixture of titan yellow and magnesium chloride can be used as a reagent for hydroxyl ions; the sensitivity being dependent upon the magnesium concentration. The reaction can also be applied as a spot test on filter paper. Anilin yellow S (Kahlbaum) reacts very sensitively with lanthanum and copper in weakly acid medium (acetate buffer p H around 5,0).  相似文献

Two series of novel inorganic-organic composite polymers have been prepared through physical blending of magnesium chloride and magnesium hydroxide respectively with polyacrylamide aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of the magnesium salt-polyacrylamide composite polymers were tuned by varying the ratio between the magnesium salt (e.g., magnesium chloride and magnesium hydroxide) and polyacrylamide. Characterizations of magnesium salt-polyacrylamide composite polymers were carried out via FTIR and TEM. Parameters such as solution conductivity and viscosity were also taken into account to characterize the physicochemical properties of the composite polymer aqueous solutions. Magnesium chloride-polyacrylamide (MCPAM) composite polymer aqueous solutions have a higher conductivity compared to magnesium hydroxide-polyacrylamide (MHPAM) composite polymer aqueous solutions. The viscosities of the MHPAM composite polymer aqueous solutions were found higher than MCPAM composite polymer aqueous solutions. The rheological properties of the composite polymer aqueous solutions were investigated using steady-state flow and oscillatory frequency sweep within the linear viscoelastic region. Shear-thinning effect was observed for both composite polymer systems when the shear rate increases. In oscillatory frequency sweep tests, both composite polymer systems show that the viscoelastic behaviors depend strongly on the magnesium salt concentrations. Viscous behavior was found to be dominant for both composite polymer systems.  相似文献

Magnesium hydride is cheap and contains 7.7 wt % hydrogen, making it one of the most attractive hydrogen storage materials. However, thermodynamics dictate that hydrogen desorption from bulk magnesium hydride only takes place at or above 300 degrees C, which is a major impediment for practical application. A few results in the literature, related to disordered materials and very thin layers, indicate that lower desorption temperatures are possible. We systematically investigated the effect of crystal grain size on the thermodynamic stability of magnesium and magnesium hydride, using ab initio Hartree-Fock and density functional theory calculations. Also, the stepwise desorption of hydrogen was followed in detail. As expected, both magnesium and magnesium hydride become less stable with decreasing cluster size, notably for clusters smaller than 20 magnesium atoms. However, magnesium hydride destabilizes more strongly than magnesium. As a result, the hydrogen desorption energy decreases significantly when the crystal grain size becomes smaller than approximately 1.3 nm. For instance, an MgH2 crystallite size of 0.9 nm corresponds to a desorption temperature of only 200 degrees C. This predicted decrease of the hydrogen desorption temperature is an important step toward the application of Mg as a hydrogen storage material.  相似文献

In order to recycle magnesium ammonium phosphate (MgNH4PO4.6H2O: MAP) obtained from MAP process, which is one of the attractive processes for removal of aqueous ammonium and phosphate from wastewater, ammonium elimination from MAP to magnesium phosphates and ammonium incorporation into the magnesium phosphates have been investigated in the present study. It is confirmed that magnesium hydrogen phosphate (MgHPO4) is favorably obtained from the ammonium elimination from MAP at temperatures greater than 353 K, although magnesium phosphate (Mg3(PO4)2) and magnesium pyrophosphate (Mg2P2O7) have been suggested as possible candidates. Based on the dissolution-precipitation mechanism for the removal of aqueous ammonium with magnesium phosphates, three magnesium phosphates were employed for the removal of aqueous ammonium. The order of the removal rate of the aqueous ammonium was MgHPO4>Mg3(PO4)2>Mg2P2O7, as expected from the solubility of those magnesium phosphates. The removability of the solid obtained from ammonium elimination of MAP is also confirmed. The present results show that MAP can be employed as an advanced material for the removal/recovery of ammonium, although it is generally accepted that an excess of MAP obtained from the wastewater treatment can be only used as a slow-acting fertilizer.  相似文献

Medium reactive magnesium oxide reacts incompletely with available water to form magnesium hydroxide. To enhance the hydration of medium reactive magnesium oxide, the effect of magnesium acetate as hydrating agent was studied. The extent to which different parameters (concentration of magnesium acetate, solution temperature and solid to liquid ratio of MgO to magnesium acetate) influence the hydration rate of a medium reactive industrial sample of magnesium oxide were evaluated. The degree of rehydration measured as percentage Mg(OH)2being formed, increases from approximately 56% using 0.5 M magnesium acetate solutions at 25°C to 64% at 50°C, to more than 70% at 70°C. The major part of rehydration of the medium reactive MgO sample occurs within the first few minutes of the reaction for all three temperatures studied. Magnesium imide (MgNH) was produced by monitoring the decomposition process of magnesium amide with in situ neutron diffraction. Significant changes in the structure of magnesium amide are detected during heat treatment and eventually result in the formation of crystalline MgNH. A model for the crystal structure of magnesium imide (MgNH) is presented for the first time. Remarkably, magnesium imide offers unique structural features similar to the cyclosilicate class and can be described as a porous solid formed by a sequence of linked chains of face sharing Mg(6)N(6) hexagonal prism clusters.  相似文献

A magnesium‐catalyzed hydroboration of alkynes providing good yields and selectivities for a wide range of terminal and symmetrical and unsymmetrical internal alkynes has been developed. The compatibility with many functional groups makes this magnesium catalyzed procedure attractive for late stage functionalization. The temperature and pH effects on the equilibrium of a blood plasma model have been studied on the basis of artificial neural networks. The proposed blood plasma was modeled considering two important metals, calcium and magnesium, and six ligands, namely, alanate, carbonate, citrate, glycinate, histidinate and succinate. A large data set has been used to simulate different concentrations of magnesium and calcium as a function of temperature and pH and these data were used for training the neural network. The proposed model allowed different types of analyses, such as the effects of pH on calcium and magnesium concentrations, the competition between calcium and magnesium for ligands and the effects of temperature on calcium and magnesium concentrations. The model developed was also used to predict how the variation of calcium concentration can affect magnesium concentrations. A comparison of neural network predictions against experimental data produced errors of about 3%. Moreover, in agreement with experimental measurements (Wang et al. in Arch. Pathol. 126:947–950, 2002; Heining et al. in Scand. J. Clin. Lab. Invest. 43:709–714, 1983), the artificial neural network predicted that calcium and magnesium concentrations decrease when pH increases. Similarly, the magnesium concentrations are less sensitive than calcium concentrations to pH changes. It is also found that both calcium and magnesium concentrations decrease when the temperature increases. Finally, the theoretical model also predicted that an increase of calcium concentrations will lead to an increase of magnesium concentration almost at the same rate. These results suggest that artificial neural networks can be efficiently applied as a complementary tool for studying metal ion complexation, with especial attention to the blood plasma analysis.
