Electrical ac conductivity measurements on alkali triborate glasses ( M2O x 3B2O3, M = Li, Na, K, and Rb) were performed at temperatures down to 8 K and frequencies up to 1 GHz. All samples show a nearly constant dielectric loss (NCL), at the limit of high frequencies and/or low temperatures. The magnitude of the NCL is found to decrease as m(-1/3) with increasing alkali ion mass m. This quantitative result for the NCL, closely related to the mean-square displacement of ions, indicates that the origin of the NCL might be related to vibrational relaxation of the ions in the anharmonic potentials that cage them, and the cage is decaying very slowly with time.  相似文献

Phosphate glasses with the chemical composition of 47P2O5–24ZnO-(29-x)Na2O-xMoO3, x = 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, have been prepared using the melt quenching technique. Dielectric properties of these phosphate glasses are carried out in the frequency range from 1 to 100 kHz at different temperatures. Dielectric parameters such as dielectric constant ε′, dielectric loss ε′′ and ac conductivity of the investigated glasses have been evaluated. The dependences of these dielectric parameters on frequency, composition and temperature have been discussed. It is found that dielectric constant decreases with increasing frequency due to the reduction of space-charge polarization and dipole polarization. The dependence of ac conductivity on the MoO3 content indicates a competition between electronic and ionic conduction. The temperature dependence of the dielectric parameters reveals a rising trend of the dielectric parameters with temperature. This rising trend is indicated due to the increase of the amplitude of the thermal vibration of the charge carriers which facilitates the electron hopping and drifting of the mobile ions. The linear trend of the ln(σac)-1000/T plot indicates that ac conductivity of the investigated glasses is thermally-activated transport process and follows the Arrhenius equation. The activation energy and its composition dependence have been reported.  相似文献

We report the first measurement of the dynamical response of shot noise (measured at frequency omega) of a tunnel junction to an ac excitation at frequency omega0. The experiment is performed in the quantum regime, variant Planck's over 2piomega approximately variant Planck's over 2piomega0>kBT at very low temperature T=35 mK and high frequency omega0/2pi=6.2 GHz. We observe that the noise responds in phase with the excitation, but not adiabatically. The results are in very good agreement with a prediction based on a new current-current correlator.  相似文献

Impedance spectroscopy was utilized to investigate the dielectric properties, ac conductivity and charge transport mechanisms in propylene-alt-CO/ethylene-alt-CO (EPEC) random terpolymer filled with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) as a function of nanofiller content, frequency, and temperature. Equivalent resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit models were proposed to describe the impedance characteristics of the unfilled terpolymer and the nanocomposite at different temperatures. For the nanocomposites, the ac conductivity tended to be frequency independent at low frequencies. At high frequencies, the ac conductivity increased with frequency. The dc conductivity (i.e., plateau of the ac conductivity at low frequencies) at room temperature increased from 10?9 (Ω·m)?1 for the unfilled polymer to l0?3 (Ω·m)?1 for the 6 wt% MWCNT/EPEC nanocomposite. At low temperatures, the equivalent RC model for EPEC-0 and EPEC-2 was found to consist of a parallel RC circuit. However, for 6 wt% MWCNT/EPEC nanocomposite, an RC model consisting of an R/constant phase element (CPE) circuit and a resistor in series was required to describe the impedance behavior of the nanocomposite.  相似文献

We have measured the optical reflectivity R(omega) of Eu0.6Ca0.4B6 as a function of temperature (T) between 1.5 and 300 K and in external magnetic fields (H) up to 7 T. R(omega) increases with decreasing T and increasing H field, but the plasma edge feature does not exhibit the sharp onset and steep slope that is observed in EuB6. The analysis of the H-field dependence of the low-T optical conductivity confirms the previously observed exponential decrease of the electrical resistivity upon increasing bulk magnetization at constant T. The individual exponential magnetization dependences of the plasma frequency and scattering rate are also extracted from the optical data.  相似文献

The scaling of the conductivity at the superfluid-insulator quantum phase transition in two dimensions is studied by numerical simulations of the Bose-Hubbard model. In contrast to previous studies, we focus on properties of this model in the experimentally relevant thermodynamic limit at finite temperature T. We find clear evidence for deviations from omega k scaling of the conductivity towards omega k/T scaling at low Matsubara frequencies omega k. By careful analytic continuation using Padé approximants we show that this behavior carries over to the real frequency axis where the conductivity scales with omega/T at small frequencies and low temperatures. We estimate the universal dc conductivity to be sigma* = 0.45(5)Q2/h, distinct from previous estimates in the T = 0, omega/T > 1 limit.  相似文献

The c-axis reflectivity spectrum of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6.6 (YBCO) is measured below T(c)=59 K in parallel magnetic fields H parallel CuO2 up to 7 T. Upon application of a parallel field, a new peak appears at finite frequency in the optical conductivity at the expense of suppression of c-axis condensate weight. We conclude that the dramatic change originates from different Josephson coupling strengths between bilayers with and without Josephson vortices. We find that the 400 cm(-1) broad conductivity peak in YBCO gains the spectral weight under parallel magnetic field; this indicates that the condensate weight at omega=0 is distributed to this peak as well as to the new optical Josephson mode.  相似文献

We have conducted temperature and frequency dependent transport measurements in amorphous NbxSi1-x samples in the insulating regime. We find a temperature dependent dc conductivity consistent with variable range hopping in a Coulomb glass. The frequency dependent response in the millimeter-wave frequency range can be described by the expression sigma(omega) varies with (-iota omega)(alpha) with the exponent somewhat smaller than 1. Our ac results are not consistent with extant theories for the hopping transport.  相似文献

Nickel-doped anatase TiO2 nanoparticles have been prepared by sol-gel method. The X-ray powder diffraction study reveals that all the prepared samples have pure anatase phase tetragonal system. The average crystallite size of the prepared sample is 14 nm, when found through transmission electron microscope. A strong frequency dependence of both dielectric constant (?′) and dielectric loss (tan δ) were observed for various dopant levels at room temperature in the frequency range of 42 Hz to 5 MHz. At low frequency, the piling up of mobile charge carriers at the grain boundary produces interfacial polarization giving rise to high dielectric constant. The asymmetric shape of frequency dependence of the dielectric loss for the primary relaxation process is observed for each concentration. From the ac conductivity studies, the reduction in conductivity may arise due to the decreasing particle with the increase in Ni-dopant level.  相似文献

We report pulse-field magnetization, ac susceptibility, and 100 GHz electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements on the S = 5/2 two-dimensional triangular compound Ba3NbFe3Si2O14 with the Néel temperature T(N) = 26 K. The magnetization curve shows an almost linear increase up to 60 T with no indication of a one-third magnetization plateau. An unusually large frequency dependence of the ac susceptibility in the temperature range of T = 20-100 K reveals a spin-glass behavior or superparamagnetism, signaling the presence of frustration-related slow magnetic fluctuations. The temperature dependence of the ESR linewidth exhibits two distinct critical regimes; (i) ΔH(pp)(T) is proportional to (T-T(N))(-p) with the exponent p = 0.2(1)-0.2(3) for temperatures above 27 K, and (ii) ΔH(pp)(T) is proportional to (T-T*)(-p) with T* = 12 K and p = 0.8(1)-0.8(4) for temperatures between 12 and 27 K. This is interpreted as indicating a dimensional crossover of magnetic interactions and the persistence of short-range correlations with a helically ordered state.  相似文献

We propose that the photonic band structure (PBS) of semiconductor-based photonic crystals (PCs) can be made tunable if the free-carrier density is sufficiently high. In this case, the dielectric constant of the semiconductor, modeled as varepsilon(omega) = varepsilon(0)(1-omega(2)(p)/omega(2)), depends on the temperature T and on the impurity concentration N through the plasma frequency omega(p). Then the PBS is strongly T and N dependent; it is even possible to obliterate a photonic band gap. This is shown by calculating the 2D PBS for PCs that incorporate either intrinsic InSb or extrinsic Ge.  相似文献

Dielectric properties, ac conductivity and thermal characteristics of terbium fumarate heptahydrate crystals grown by gel diffusion method have been carried out. The real part of dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity of the material have been measured as a function of temperature and frequency of the applied electric field. Dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity of the title compound were systematically investigated, showing a hump at about 85 °C, which could be attributed to water molecules in the crystal boundary. The dielectric anomaly exhibited by the material has been correlated with its thermal behaviour. The ac conductivity of the material obeys the Jonscher's power law relation; σ(ω) = σo + Aωs, with the temperature dependent power exponent s < 1. The ac conductivity of the compound has been found to increase with the increase in frequency. The material is suggested to show protonic conduction. The non-isothermal kinetics was used to evaluate the activation energy for the dehydration step of thermal decomposition of terbium fumarate heptahydrate by using the Coats–Redfern integral method.  相似文献

Single crystals of pure and potassium iodide (KI)-doped zinc tris-thiourea sulphate (ZTS) were grown from aqueous solutions by the slow evaporation method. The grown crystals were transparent. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals were determined by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The grown crystals were also characterized by recording the powder X-ray diffraction pattern and by identifying the diffracting planes. The FT-IR spectrum was recorded in the range 400-4500 cm−1. Second harmonic generation (SHG) was confirmed by the Kurtz powder method. The thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) studies reveal that the materials have good thermal stability. Atomic absorption studies confirm the presence of dopant in ZTS crystals. The electrical measurements were made in the frequency range 102-106 Hz and in the temperature range 40-130 °C along a-, b- and c-directions of the grown crystals. The present study shows that the electrical parameters viz. dc conductivity, dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and ac conductivity increase with increase in temperature. Activation energy values were also determined for the ac conduction process in grown crystals. The dc conductivity, dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and ac conductivity of KI-doped ZTS crystal were found to be more than those of pure ZTS crystals.  相似文献

用固相反应法成功地制备了ACu3Ti4O12(A=Ca,La,Y)系列陶瓷,在50—300K温区内测量了样品的介电性能,分析了交流电导与外场频率、温度的关系.发现在相同组分的CaCu3Ti4O12晶体中相对含量大于等于0776时,样品的相对介电常数可达104;而A位上价态为3+的化合物La2/3Cu3Ti4O12和Y2/3Cu3Ti4O12相对介电常数仅为103.分析表明,样品中内部阻挡层电容数目的多少直接对ACu3Ti4O12的相对介电常数产生影响.电导与温度及频率的关系是由电子、声子与外场的共同作用决定的. 关键词: ACu3Ti4O12 巨介电 晶相含量 阻挡层电容  相似文献

We study a rotating atomic Fermi gas near a narrow s-wave Feshbach resonance in a uniaxial trap with frequencies Omega perpendicular, Omega z. We predict the upper-critical angular velocity, omega c2(delta,T), as a function of temperature T and detuning delta across the BEC-BCS crossover. The suppression of superfluidity at omega c2 is distinct in the BCS and BEC regimes, with the former controlled by depairing and the latter by the dilution of bosonic molecules. At low T and Omega z < Omega perpendicular, in the BCS and crossover regimes of 0 less similar delta less similar delta c, omega c2 is implicitly given by [formula: see text], vanishing as omega c2 approximately Omega perpendicular(1 - delta/delta c)(1/2) near [formula: see text] (with Delta the BCS gap and gamma the resonance width), and extending the bulk result variant Planck's over 2pi omega c2 approximately 2Delta2/epsilonF to a trap. In the BEC regime of delta < 0 we find omega c2-->Omega perpendicular-, where molecular superfluidity is destroyed only by large quantum fluctuations associated with comparable boson and vortex densities.  相似文献

The ferroelectric ceramics Ba5RTi3V7O30 (R=Ho, Gd, La) have been synthesized by solid-state reaction technique. Preliminary X-ray structural analysis confirmed a single-phase formation of the compound in orthorhombic structure. Surface morphology of the compounds was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Detailed studies of electrical properties (i.e., dielectric constant, loss tangent, ac conductivity) as a function of temperature (RT-773 K) and at four different frequencies (1 kHz, 10 kHz, 100 kHz and 1 MHz) show ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition of the compounds of diffuse-type. The activation energy has been evaluated from ac conductivity following Arrhenius equation. The conductivity pattern shows that it is strongly frequency dependent and obeys Jonscher's power relation.  相似文献
