Two stepwise approaches to preparing large unsymmetrical macrocycles incorporating diethylenetriamine lateral units are described: the first utilises protecting group chemistry, whereas the second exploits irreversible amide bond formation in the presence of an excess of the amine. In the first approach condensation of two equivalents of N-acetyldiethylenetriamine 1 with 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol, followed by a sodium borohydride reduction of the newly formed imine bonds and acidic removal of the protecting groups, yields a phenol-containing "two-armed" precursor as an HCl salt 2. Using the second approach the new pyridine-containing "two-armed" precursor , is prepared from 2,6-dimethylpyridinedicarboxylate and an excess of diethylenetriamine. These two "two-armed" di-primary amine precursors, 2 (after reaction with KOH) and 3, can be condensed with the dicarbonyl head units of choice. The lead templated condensation of 2 with 2,6-diacetylpyridine results in the formation of the macrocyclic dilead(II) complex {[Pb(II)(2)(L1)(Cl)](ClO(4))(2)}(infinity) 4. Transmetallation of 4 with three equivalents of copper(II) perchlorate produces Cu(II)(3)(L1)(OH)(ClO(4))(4) 5. Condensation of 3 with 2,6-diacetylpyridine or 2,6-diformylpyridine in the presence of barium(ii) ions results in the macrocyclic complexes [Ba(II)(H(2)L2)](ClO(4))(2) 6 and [Ba(II)(H(2)L3)](ClO(4))(2) 7, respectively. Copper(II) acetate templates the formation of the crystallographically characterised unsymmetrical macrocyclic complex [Cu(II)(3)(L4)(OH)(NCS)(2)].EtOH, 8.EtOH, from 3, 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and NaNCS.  相似文献

Metal complexation studies were performed with the ditopic pyrimidine-hydrazone (pym-hyz) strand 6-hydroxymethylpyridine-2-carboxaldehyde (2-methyl-pyrimidine-4,6-diyl)bis(1-methylhydrazone) (1) and Pb(ClO(4))(2)·3H(2)O, Pb(SO(3)CF(3))(2)·H(2)O, Zn(SO(3)CF(3))(2), and Zn(BF(4))(2) to examine the ability of 1 to form various supramolecular architectures. X-ray crystallographic and NMR studies showed that coordination of the Pb(II) salts with 1 on a 2:1 metal/ligand ratio in CH(3)CN and CH(3)NO(2) resulted in the linear complexes [Pb(2)1(ClO(4))(4)] (2), [Pb(2)1(ClO(4))(3)(H(2)O)]ClO(4) (3), and [Pb(2)1(SO(3)CF(3))(3)(H(2)O)]SO(3)CF(3) (4). Two unusually distorted [2 × 2] grid complexes, [Pb1(ClO(4))](4)(ClO(4))(4) (5) and [Pb1(ClO(4))](4)(ClO(4))(4)·4CH(3)NO(2) (6), were formed by reacting Pb(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O and 1 on a 1:1 metal/ligand ratio in CH(3)CN and CH(3)NO(2). These grids formed despite coordination of the hydroxymethyl arms due to the large, flexible coordination sphere of the Pb(II) ions. A [2 × 2] grid complex was formed in solution by reacting Pb(SO(3)CF(3))(2)·H(2)O and 1 on a 1:1 metal/ligand ratio in CH(3)CN as shown by (1)H NMR, microanalysis, and ESMS. Reacting the Zn(II) salts with 1 on a 2:1 metal/ligand ratio gave the linear complexes [Zn(2)1(H(2)O)(4)](SO(3)CF(3))(4)·C(2)H(5)O (7) and [Zn(2)1(BF(4))(H(2)O)(2)(CH(3)CN)](BF(4))(3)·H(2)O (8). (1)H NMR studies showed the Zn(II) and Pb(II) ions in these linear complexes were labile undergoing metal ion exchange. All of the complexes exhibited pym-hyz linkages in their cisoid conformation and binding between the hydroxymethyl arms and the metal ions. No complexes were isolated from reacting either of the Zn(II) salts with 1 on a 1:1 metal/ligand ratio, due to the smaller size of the Zn(II) coordination sphere as compared to the much larger Pb(II) ions.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of a pyridazine-containing two-armed grid ligand L2 (prepared from one equivalent of 3,6-diformylpyridazine and two equivalents of p-anisidine) and the resulting transition metal (Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn) complexes (1-9) are reported. Single-crystal X-ray structure determinations revealed that the copper(I) complex had self-assembled as a [2 x 2] grid, [Cu(I) (4)(L2)(4)][PF(6)](4).(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25) (2.(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25)), whereas the [Zn(2)(L2)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2)(H(2)O)(2)][ClO(4)](4).CH(3)CN (1.CH(3)CN), [Ni(II) (2)(L2)(2)(CH(3)CN)(4)][BF(4)](4).(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25) (5 a.(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25)) and [Co(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2)][ClO(4)](4).(H(2)O)(CH(3)CN)(0.5) (6 a.(H(2)O)(CH(3)CN)(0.5)) complexes adopt a side-by-side architecture; iron(II) forms a monometallic cation binding three L2 ligands, [Fe(II)(L2)(3)][Fe(III)Cl(3)OCl(3)Fe(III)].CH(3)CN (7.CH(3)CN). A more soluble salt of the cation of 7, the diamagnetic complex [Fe(II)(L2)(3)][BF(4)](2).2 H(2)O (8), was prepared, as well as two derivatives of 2, [Cu(I) (2)(L2)(2)(NCS)(2)].H(2)O (3) and [Cu(I) (2)(L2)(NCS)(2)] (4). The manganese complex, [Mn(II) (2)(L2)(2)Cl(4)].3 H(2)O (9), was not structurally characterised, but is proposed to adopt a side-by-side architecture. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility studies yielded small negative J values for the side-by-side complexes: J=-21.6 cm(-1) and g=2.17 for S=1 dinickel(II) complex [Ni(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(4)][BF(4)](4) (5 b) (fraction monomer 0.02); J=-7.6 cm(-1) and g=2.44 for S= 3/2 dicobalt(II) complex [Co(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(4)][ClO(4)](4) (6 b) (fraction monomer 0.02); J=-3.2 cm(-1) and g=1.95 for S= 5/2 dimanganese(II) complex 9 (fraction monomer 0.02). The double salt, mixed valent iron complex 7.H(2)O gave J=-75 cm(-1) and g=1.81 for the S= 5/2 diiron(III) anion (fraction monomer=0.025). These parameters are lower than normal for Fe(III)OFe(III) species because of fitting of superimposed monomer and dimer susceptibilities arising from trace impurities. The iron(II) centre in 7.H(2)O is low spin and hence diamagnetic, a fact confirmed by the preparation and characterisation of the simple diamagnetic iron(II) complex 8. M?ssbauer measurements at 77 K confirmed that there are two iron sites in 7.H(2)O, a low-spin iron(II) site and a high-spin diiron(III) site. A full electrochemical investigation was undertaken for complexes 1, 2, 5 b, 6 b and 8 and this showed that multiple redox processes are a feature of all of them.  相似文献

Two new one-dimensional heterometallic complexes, [Mn(3)Na(L)(4)(CH(3)CO(2))(MeOH)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·3H(2)O (1), [Mn(3)Na(L)(4)(CH(3)CH(2)CO(2))(MeOH)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2MeOH·H(2)O (2) [LH(2) = 2-methyl-2-(2-pyridyl)propane-1,3-diol], have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Both complexes feature Mn(II) and Na(I) ions in trigonal-prismatic geometries that are linked to octahedral Mn(IV) ions by alkoxy bridges. Variable-temperature direct- and alternating-current magnetic susceptibility data indicated a spin ground state of S = 11/2 for both complexes. Density functional theory calculations performed on 1 supported this conclusion.  相似文献

In methanol, the reaction of Cu(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O and a sterically constrained piperazine imine phenol ligand (H(2)L), in the presence of NEt(3), affords a novel tetranuclear copper(II) complex of formula [Cu(II)(4)(mu(3)-L)(2)(mu-OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (1). The X-ray structure of this complex shows an elongated Cu(4) quasi-tetrahedron coordinated to two hexadentate chair-(e,a)-mu(3)-piperazine bridging ligands. Variable-temperature magnetic studies show an S(t) = 0 spin ground state resulting from antiferromagnetic interactions between Cu(II) ions within the complex.  相似文献

Complex 1 describes a distorted tetrahedral metallic cluster, while complex 2 can be considered to be a 2-D coordination polymer. Complexes 3-13 can all be regarded as metallo-cryptand encapsulated lanthanides in which the central lanthanide ion is captivated within a [Co(II)(6)] trigonal prism. dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies have been carried out in the 2-300 K range for complexes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 13, revealing the possibility of single molecule magnetism behavior for complex 10.  相似文献

This report covers initial studies in the coaggregation of nickel (Ni2+) and lanthanide (Ln3+) metal ions to form complexes with interesting structural and magnetic properties. The tripodal amine phenol ligand H3tam (1,1,1-tris(((2-hydroxybenzyl)amino)methyl)ethane) is shown to be particularly accommodating with respect to the geometric constraints of both transition and lanthanide metal ions, forming isolable complexes with both of these ion types. In the solid-state structure of [Ni(H2tam)(CH3CN)]PF6.2.5CH3CN.0.5CH3OH (1), the Ni(II) center has a distorted octahedral geometry, with an N3O2 donor set from the [H2tam]- ligand and a coordinated solvent (acetonitrile) occupying the sixth site. The reaction of stoichiometric amounts of H3tam with the Ni(II) ion in the presence of lanthanide(III) ions provides [LnNi2(tam)2]+ cationic complexes which contain coaggregated metal ions. These complexes are isolable and have been characterized by a variety of analytical techniques, with mass spectrometry proving to be particularly diagnostic. The solid-state structures of [LaNi2(tam)2(CH3OH)1/2(CH3CH2OH)1/2(H2O)]ClO4.0.5CH3OH.0.5CH3CH2OH.4H2O (2), [DyNi2(tam)2(CH3OH)(H2O)]ClO4.CH3OH. H2O(6), and [YbNi2(tam)2(H2O)]ClO4.2.58H2O(9) have been determined. Each complex contains two octahedral Ni(II) ions, each of which is encapsulated by the ligand tam3- in an N3O3 coordination sphere; each [Ni(tam)]-unit caps the lanthanide(III) ion via bridging phenoxy oxygen donor atoms. In 2, La3+ is eight-coordinated, while in 6, Dy(III) is seven- (to "weakly eight-") coordinated, and Yb(III) in 9 has a six-coordination environment. The complexes are symmetrically different, 2 possessing C2 symmetry and 6 and 9 having C1 symmetry. Magnetic studies of 2, 6, and 9 indicate that antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between the Ni(II) and Ln(III) ions increases with decreasing ionic radius of Ln(III).  相似文献

The self-assembly of Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions with a bis-bidentate ligand 3,5-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyrazole (H 3L) was studied by Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, (1)H NMR measurements, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Reaction of Zn(ClO 4) 2.6H 2O and Cd(ClO 4) 2.6H 2O with H 3L in DMF gave two pentanuclear complexes [(Zn 5(mu 3-O)(H 2L) 6)(ClO 4) 2.DMF.9.5H 2O ( 1) and [Cd 5(mu 3-O)(H 2L) 6](ClO 4)(OH).4.75DMF.0.25EtOH.10.5H 2O ( 2), in which the trigonal-bipyramidal core structures are bridged by mu 3-oxo and pyrazolate rings of the monodeprotonated H 2L. When Na 3PO 4.12H 2O was used in the reaction system of CdBr 2.4H 2O and H 3L, [Cd 5(mu 3-O)(H 2L) 6]Br 2.4.5DMF.6.5H 2O ( 3) and [Cd 7(mu 6-PO 4)(mu-Br) 3(H 2L) 6](HPO 4).DMF.10H 2O ( 4) were isolated. 3 displays the same core structure as that of 2, whereas 4 exhibits a turbinate, heptanuclear core which is bridged by a mu 6-PO 4, three mu-Br, and three pyrazolate rings. All of the pentanuclear and heptanuclear cores are surrounded by three pairs of bis-bidentate H 2L (-) ligands with offset pi-pi stacking, showing propeller-like molecular structures and triple-stand helicates. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry studies and (1)H NMR measurements demonstrate that the pentanuclear complexes have different stability in the solution, depending on the metal ions and the counteranions. Furthermore, both 1 and 2 emit blue fluorescence with nanosecond luminescent lifetimes in DMF at room temperature.  相似文献

The novel pyridine-containing 14-membered macrocycle 3,11-dithia-7,17-diazabicyclo[11.3.1]heptadeca-1(17),13,15-triene (L), which contains an N2S2 donor set, was synthesized, and its protonation behavior was studied by absorption titration with CH3SO3H. The reaction of L with Pd(II) was studied spectroscopically, and the square-planar complex [Pd(L)](BF4) was isolated and characterized. The reactions between L and NiX2 x 6 H2O (X = BF4, ClO4) in ethanol or acetonitrile afforded the octahedral complexes [Ni(CH3CN)(H2O)(L)](X)2 and [Ni(H2O)2(L)](X)2, respectively. The square-planar complexes [Ni(L)](X)2 were obtained by heating these octahedral complexes. Spectrophotometric titrations of [Ni(L)](BF4)2 were performed with neutral and negatively charged ligands. The color of nitromethane solutions of this square-planar complex turns from red to cyan, purple, blue, yellow-green, and pink following addition of halides, acetonitrile, water, pyridine, and 2,2'-bipyridine, respectively. X-ray structural analyses were carried out on the {[Ni(ClO4)(H2O)(L)][Ni(H2O)2(L)]}(ClO4)3, [Ni(CH3CN)(H2O)(L)](ClO4)2, [{Ni(L)}2(mu-Cl)2](ClO4)2, and [{Ni(L)}2(mu-Br)2]Br2 x 2 CH3NO2 complexes.  相似文献

A full account of a chemical system possessing features that mimic the reactivity aspects of tyrosinase is presented. Using dinucleating ligands with a m-xylyl spacer three new dicopper(I) complexes have been synthesized and their reactivity with dioxygen investigated. The six-membered chelate ring forming ligands provide only two nitrogen coordinations to each copper. The complexes [Cu(I)(2)L(CH(3)CN)(2)]X(2) (X = ClO(4)(-) (1a), SbF(6)(-) (1b)) and [Cu(I)(2)(L-NO(2))(CH(3)CN)(2)][SbF(6)](2) (1c) [L = alpha,alpha'-bis[N-methyl-N-(2-pyridylethyl)amino]-m-xylene; L-NO(2) = para-nitro derivative of L] have been characterized by IR and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The reaction of O(2) with 1a-c in CH(2)Cl(2) or THF is instantaneous and causes stoichiometric xylyl hydroxylation reactions producing phenol products. Thus 1a produces phenoxo-/hydroxo-bridged product [Cu(II)(2)(L-O)(OH)][ClO(4)](2) (2a). The existence of putative peroxo-dicopper(II) species could not be detected even at -80 degrees C. A trend is observed for the extent of aromatic ring hydroxylation (298 K): CH(3)CN approximately DMF > CH(3)OH > CH(2)Cl(2). Cyclic voltammetric experiment of 1a in DMF reveals an appreciably low redox potential (E(1/2) = -0.26 V vs SCE) for the Cu(II)(2)/Cu(I)(2) redox process. Variable-temperature (25-300 K) magnetic susceptibility measurements establish that the copper(II) centers in 2a and the dihydroxo-bridged complex [Cu(II)(2)L'(OH)(2)][ClO(4)](2) (2b) [formed due to an impurity (L') present during the synthesis of L following Method A; L' = bis[alpha,alpha'-bis(N-methyl-N-(2-pyridylethyl)amino)-m-xylene]methylamine] are antiferromagnetically coupled, with 2a considerably more coupled than 2b. Reaction of 1a with O(2) in CH(2)Cl(2) (298 K) produces an additional unhydroxylated product of composition [Cu(II)(2)L(OH)(OH(2))][ClO(4)](3).2H(2)O.0.5HCl (3a). In agreement with its proposed hydroxo-/aquo-bridged structure, 3a is weakly antiferromagnetically coupled. In CH(3)CN solution, 3a rearranges to generate a doubly hydroxo-bridged species [Cu(II)(2)L(OH)(2)](2+). Using a solution-generated dicopper(I) complex of a closely similar ligand (L' ') providing five-membered chelate ring, the reactivity toward dioxygen was also investigated. It produces only an irreversibly oxidized product of composition Cu(II)(2)L' '(OH)(ClO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2) (3b) (L' ' = alpha,alpha'-bis[N-methyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)amino]-m-xylene). For 3b the copper(II) centers are almost uncoupled.  相似文献

The tetradentate imino-carboxylate ligand [L](2)(-) chelates the equatorial sites of Ni(II) to give the complex [Ni(L)(MeOH)(2)] in which a Ni(II) center is bound in an octahedral coordination environment with MeOH ligands occupying the axial sites. Lanthanide (Ln) and Group II metal ions (M) template the aggregation of six [Ni(L)] fragments into the octahedral cage aggregates (M[Ni(L)](6))(x)(+) (1: M = Sr(II); x = 2,2: M = Ba(II); x = 2, 3: M = La(III); x = 3, 4: M = Ce(III); x = 3, 5: M = Pr(III); x = 3, and 6: M = Nd(III); x = 3). In the presence of Group I cations, however, aggregates composed of the alkali metal-oxide cations template various cage compounds. Thus, Na(+) forms the trigonal bipyramidal [Na(5)O](3+) core within a tricapped trigonal prismatic [Ni(L)](9) aggregate to give ((Na(5)O) subset [Ni(L)](9)(MeOH)(3))(BF(4))(2).OH.CH(3)OH, 7. Li(+) and Na(+) together form a mixed Li(+)/Na(+) core comprising distorted trigonal bipyramidal [Na(3)Li(2)O](3+) within an approximately anti-square prismatic [Ni(L)](8) cage in ((Na(3)Li(2)O) subset [Ni(L)](8)(CH(3)OH)(1.3)(BF(4))(0.7))(BF(4))(2.3).(CH(3)OH)(2.75).(C(4)H(10)O)(0.5), 8, while in the presence of Li(+), a tetrahedral [Li(4)O](2+) core within a hexanuclear open cage [Ni(L)](6) in ((Li(4)O) subset [Ni(L)](6)(CH(3)OH)(3))2ClO(4).1.85CH(3)OH, 9, is produced. In the presence of H(2)O, the Cs(+) cation induces the aggregation of the [Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)] monomer to give the cluster Cs(2)[Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)](6).2I.4CH(3)OH.5.25H(2)O, 10. Analysis by electronic spectroscopy and mass spectrometry indicates that in solution the trend in stability follows the order 1-6 > 7 > 8 approximately 9. Magnetic susceptibility data indicate that there is net antiferromagnetic exchange between magnetic centers within the cages.  相似文献

Analyses of the magnetic data of 2, 3, 4, and [Cu(2)(2,6-tpcd)(H(2)O)Cl](ClO(4))(2) (6) [2,6-tpcd = 2,6-bis[bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amino]-p-cresolate] show the occurrence of weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the copper(II) ions, the bis-terdentate 1,3-tpbd/2,6-tpcd, μ(4)-XO(4) (X = As and P) μ(1,2)-OPO and μ-O(phenolate) appearing as poor mediators of exchange interactions in this series of compounds. Simple orbital symmetry considerations based on the structural knowledge account for the small magnitude of the magnetic couplings found in these copper(II) compounds.  相似文献

New homo trinuclear Zn(II) complexes [Zn(3)L(1)(micro-OAc)](ClO(4))(2).3CHCl(3).H(2)O, 1, and [Zn(3)L(1)(micro-OAc)].ClO(4).PF(6).5CH(3)OH.H(2)O, 2, and hetero trinuclear complex [Zn(2)CuL(1)(micro-OAc)](ClO(4))(2).3CHCl(3).H(2)O,3, of optically active hexaaza triphenolic macrocycle H(3)L(1) were synthesized and crystallographically characterized. The cation [Zn(3)L(1)(micro-OAc)](+) structure of 1 and 2 closely resembles the trinuclear Zn(II) active site of P1 nuclease. The distorted tetrahedral geometry of Zn3 was successfully reproduced at Cu1 in complex 3. The complexes 2 and 3 cleave CT DNA at 37 and 50 degrees C.  相似文献

The synthesis and physical characterization of a series of lanthanide (Ln(III)) and nickel (Ni(II)) mixed trimetallic complexes with the heptadentate (N(4)O(3)) amine phenol ligand H(3)trn [tris(2'-hydroxybenzylaminoethyl)amine] has been accomplished in order to extend our understanding of how amine phenol ligands can be used to coaggregate d- and f-block metal ions and to investigate further the magnetic interaction between these ions. The one-pot reaction in methanol of stoichiometric amounts of H(3)trn with NiX(2).6H(2)O (X = ClO(4), NO(3)) followed by addition of the corresponding LnX(3).6H(2)O salt, and then base, produces complexes of the general formula [LnNi(2)(trn)(2)]X.nH(2)O. The complexes were characterized by a variety of analytical techniques. Crystals of five of the complexes were grown from methanol solutions and their structures were determined by X-ray analysis: [PrNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)]ClO(4).4CH(3)OH.H(2)O, [SmNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)]NO(3).4CH(3)OH.2H(2)O, [TbNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)]NO(3).4CH(3)OH.3H(2)O, [ErNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)]NO(3).6CH(3)OH, and [LuNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)]NO(3).4.5CH(3)OH.1.5H(2)O. The [LnNi(2)(trn)(2)(CH(3)OH)](+) complex cation consists of two octahedral Ni(II) ions, each of which is encapsulated by the ligand trn(3)(-) in an N(4)O(2) coordination sphere with one phenolate O atom not bound to Ni(II). Each [Ni(trn)](-) unit acts as a tridentate ligand toward the Ln(III) ion via two bridging and one nonbridging phenolate donors. Remarkably, in all of the structurally characterized complexes, Ln(III) is seven-coordinate and has a flattened pentagonal bipyramidal geometry. Such uniform coordination behavior along the whole lanthanide series is rare and can perhaps be attributed to a mismatch between the geometric requirements of the bridging and nonbridging phenolate donors. Magnetic studies indicate that ferromagnetic exchange occurs in the Ni(II)/Ln(II) complexes where Ln = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, or Er.  相似文献

Four tetrameric nickel(II) pseudohalide complexes have been synthesized and structurally, spectroscopically, and magnetically characterized. Compounds 1-3 are isostructural and exhibit the general formula [Ni(2)(dpk·OH)(dpk·CH(3)O)(L)(H(2)O)](2)A(2)·2H(2)O, where dpk = di-2-pyridylketone; L = N(3)(-), and A = ClO(4)(-) for 1, L = NCO(-) and A = ClO(4)(-) for 2, and L = NCO(-) and A = NO(3)(-) for 3. The formula for 4 is [Ni(4)(dpk·OH)(3) (dpk·CH(3)O)(2)(NCO)](BF(4))(2)·3H(2)O. The ligands dpk·OH(-) and dpk·CH(3)O(-) result from solvolysis and ulterior deprotonation of dpk in water and methanol, respectively. The four tetramers exhibit a dicubane-like core with two missing vertexes where the Ni(II) ions are connected through end-on pseudohalide and oxo bridges. Magnetic measurements showed that compounds 1-4 are ferromagnetic. The values of the exchange constants were determined by means of a theoretical model based on three different types of coupling. Thus, the calculated J values (J(1) = J(2), J(3), and D) were 5.6, 11.8, and 5.6 cm(-1) for 1, 5.5, 12.0, and 5.6 cm(-1) for 2, 6.3, 4.9, and 6.2 cm(-1) for 3, and (J(1), J(2), J(3), and D) 6.9, 7.0, 15.2, and 4.8 cm(-1) for 4.  相似文献

A substituted 2,6-bis(pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine (3-bpp) ligand, H(4) L, created to facilitate intermolecular interactions in the solid, has been used to obtain four novel Fe(II) complexes: [Fe(H(4) L)(2) ](ClO(4) )(2) ?2?CH(3) NO(2) ?2?H(2) O, [Fe(H(4) L)(H(2) LBF(2) )](BF(4) )?5?C(3) H(6) O (H(2) LBF(2) is an in situ modified version of H(4) L), [Fe(H(4) L)(2) ](ClO(4) )(2) ?2?C(3) H(7) OH and [Fe(H(4) L)(2) ](ClO(4) )(2) ?4?C(2) H(5) OH. Changing of spin-inactive components (solvents, anions or distant ligand substituents) causes differences to the coordination geometry of the metal that are key to the magnetic proper- ties. Magnetic measurements show that, contrary to the previously published complex [Fe(H(4) L)(2) ](ClO(4) )(2) ?H(2) O?2?CH(3) COCH(3) , the newly synthesised compounds remain in the high-spin (HS) state at all temperatures (5-300?K). A member of the known family of Fe(II) /3-bpp complexes, [Fe(3-bpp)(2) ](ClO(4) )(2) ?1.75?CH(3) COCH(3) ?1.5?Et(2) O, has also been prepared and characterised structurally. In the bulk, this compound exhibits a gradual and incomplete spin transition near 205?K. The single-crystal structure is consistent with it being HS at 250?K and partially low spin at 90?K. Structural analysis of all these compounds reveals that the exact configuration of intermolecular interactions affects dramatically the local geometry at the metal, which ultimately has a strong influence on the magnetic properties. Along this line, the geometry of Fe(II) in all published 3-bpp compounds of known structure has been examined, both by calculating various distortion indices (Σ, Θ, θ and Φ) and by continuous shape measures (CShMs). The results reveal correlations between some of these parameters and indicate that the distortions from octahedral geometry observed on HS systems are mainly due to strains arising from intermolecular interactions. As previously suggested with other related compounds, we observe here that strongly HS-distorted systems have a larger tendency to remain in that state.  相似文献

When the ligand 1,4,5-triazanaphthalene (abbreviated as tan) is reacted with Cu(II) BF(4)(-) and ClO(4)(-) salts, a variety of mononuclear compounds has been found, all with the [Cu(tan)(4)] unit and varying amounts of weakly coordinating axial ligands and lattice solvents. Reproducible compounds formed include two purple compounds, analyzing as [Cu(tan)(4)](ClO(4))(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)(H(2)O) (1) and [Cu(tan)(4)](BF(4))(2)(CH(3)OH)(1.5)(H(2)O) (3), and two blue compounds, analyzing as [Cu(tan)(4)](ClO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2) (2) and [Cu(tan)(4)](2)(BF(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2) (4). Upon standing at room temperature, red-coloured, mixed-valence dinuclear-based 3D coordination polymers are formed by conversion of the purple/blue products, of which [Cu(2)(tan)(4)](n)(BF(4))(3n) (5) and the isomorphic methanol-water adduct [Cu(tan)(4)](n)(BF(4))(3n)(CH(3)OH)(n)(H(2)O)(5n) (5A) are presented in this paper. In addition a fully reduced dinuclear Cu(I) compound of formula [Cu(2)(tan)(3)(ClO(4))(2)] (7) has been observed, and structurally characterized, as a rare three-blade propeller structure, with a Cu-Cu distance of 2.504 ?.  相似文献

Tridentate Schiff-base carboxylate-containing ligands, derived from the condensation of 2-imidazolecarboxaldehyde with the amino acids beta-alanine (H2L1) and 2-aminobenzoic acid (H2L5) and the condensation of 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde with beta-alanine (HL2), D,L-3-aminobutyric acid (HL3), and 4-aminobutyric acid (HL4), react with copper(II) perchlorate to give rise to the helical-chain complexes [[Cu(mu-HL1)(H2O)](ClO4)]n (1), [[Cu(mu-L2)(H2O)](ClO4).2H2O]n (2), and [[Cu(mu-L3)(H2O)](ClO4).2H2O]n (3), the tetranuclear complex [[Cu(mu-L4)(H2O)](ClO4)]4 (4), and the mononuclear complex [Cu(HL5)(H2O)](ClO4).1/2H2O (5). The reaction of copper(II) chloride with H2L1 leads not to a syn-anti carboxylate-bridged compound but to the chloride-bridged dinuclear complex [Cu(HL1)(mu-Cl)]2 (6). The structures of these complexes have been solved by X-ray crystallography. In complexes 1-4, roughly square-pyramidal copper(II) ions are sequentially bridged by syn-anti carboxylate groups. Copper(II) ions exhibit CuN2O3 coordination environments with the three donor atoms of the ligand and one oxygen atom belonging to the carboxylate group of an adjacent molecule occupying the basal positions and an oxygen atom (from a water molecule in the case of compounds 1-3 and from a perchlorate anion in 4) coordinated in the apical position. Therefore, carboxylate groups are mutually cis oriented and each syn-anti carboxylate group bridges two copper(II) ions in basal-basal positions with Cu...Cu distances ranging from 4.541 A for 4 to 5.186 A for 2. In complex 5, the water molecule occupies an equatorial position in the distorted octahedral environment of the copper(II) ion and the Cu-O carboxylate distances in axial positions are very large (>2.78 A). Therefore, this complex can be considered as mononuclear. Complex 6 exhibits a dinuclear parallel planar structure with Ci symmetry. Copper(II) ions display a square-pyramidal coordination geometry (tau = 0.06) for the N2OCl2 donor set, where the basal coordination sites are occupied by one of the bridging chlorine atoms and the three donor atoms of the tridentate ligand and the apical site is occupied by the remaining bridging chlorine atom. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that complexes 1-4 exhibit weak ferromagnetic interactions whereas a weak antiferromagnetic coupling has been established for 6. The magnetic behavior can be satisfactorily explained on the basis of the structural data for these and related complexes.  相似文献

The dinucleating macrocyclic ligands (L(2;2))(2-) and (L(2;3))(2-), comprised of two 2-[(N-methylamino)methyl]-6-(iminomethyl)-4-bromophenolate entities combined by the -(CH(2))(2)- chain between the two aminic nitrogen atoms and by the -(CH(2))(2)- or -(CH(2))(3)- chain between the two iminic nitrogen atoms, have afforded the following M(II)Cu(II) complexes: [CoCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2).MeCN (1A), [NiCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2) (2A), [ZnCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2).0.5MeCN.EtOH (3A), [CoCu(L(2;3))(MeCN)(2-PrOH)](ClO(4))(2) (4A), [NiCu(L(2;3))](ClO(4))(2) (5A), and [ZnCu(L(2;3))](ClO(4))(2).1.5DMF (6A). [CoCu(L(2;2))(MeCN)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1A') crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, a = 11.691(2) A, b = 18.572(3) A, c = 17.058(3) A, beta= 91.18(2) degrees, V = 3703(1) A(3), and Z = 4. [NiCu(L(2;2))(DMF)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2A') crystallizes in the triclinic space group P(-)1, a = 11.260(2) A, b = 16.359(6) A, c = 10.853(4) A, alpha= 96.98(3) degrees, beta= 91.18(2) degrees, gamma= 75.20(2) degrees, V = 1917(1) A(3), and Z = 2. 4A crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, a = 15.064(8) A, b = 11.434(5) A, c = 21.352(5) A, beta= 95.83(2)degrees, V = 3659(2) A(3), and Z = 4. The X-ray crystallographic results demonstrate the M(II) to reside in the N(amine)(2)O(2) site and the Cu(II) in the N(imine)(2)O(2) site. The complexes 1-6 are regarded to be isomeric with [CuCo(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).DMF (1B), [CuNi(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).DMF.MeOH (2B), [CuZn(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (3B)), [CuCo(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2).2H(2)O (4B), [CuNi(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2) (5B), and [CuZn(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (6B) reported previously, when we ignore exogenous donating and solvating molecules. The isomeric M(II)Cu(II) and Cu(II)M(II) complexes are differentiated by X-ray structural, magnetic, visible spectroscopic, and electrochemical studies. The two isomeric forms are significantly stabilized by the "macrocyclic effect" of the ligands, but 1A is converted into 1B on an electrode, and 2A is converted into 2B at elevated temperature.  相似文献
