We use a Killing form on a Riemannian manifold to construct a class of Finsler metrics. We find equations that characterize Einstein metrics among this class. In particular, we construct a family of Einstein metrics on S 3 with Ric = 2F 2, Ric = 0 and Ric = -2F 2, respectively. This family of metrics provides an important class of Finsler metrics in dimension three, whose Ricci curvature is a constant, but the flag curvature is not.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the study of the evolution of invariant Riemannian metrics on the special class of generalized Wallach spaces corresponding to the case of a1 = a2 = a3 = 1/4. We prove that the normalized Ricci flow evolves all generic invariant Riemannian metrics into metrics with positive Ricci curvature.  相似文献

We call a metric m-quasi-Einstein if \({Ric_X^m}\) (a modification of the m-Bakry–Emery Ricci tensor in terms of a suitable vector field X) is a constant multiple of the metric tensor. It is a generalization of Einstein metrics which contain Ricci solitons. In this paper, we focus on left-invariant vector fields and left-invariant Riemannian metrics on quadratic Lie groups. First we prove that any left-invariant vector field X such that the left-invariant Riemannian metric on a quadratic Lie group is m-quasi-Einstein is a Killing vector field. Then we construct infinitely many non-trivial m-quasi-Einstein metrics on solvable quadratic Lie groups G(n) for m finite.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of commuting Ricci tensor for real hypersurfaces in the complex quadric Qm = SOm+2/SOmSO2. It is shown that the commuting Ricci tensor gives that the unit normal vector field N becomes A-principal or A-isotropic. Then according to each case, we give a complete classification of Hopf real hypersurfaces in Qm = SOm+2/SOmSO2 with commuting Ricci tensor.  相似文献

Measure contraction properties M C P (K, N) are synthetic Ricci curvature lower bounds for metric measure spaces which do not necessarily have smooth structures. It is known that if a Riemannian manifold has dimension N, then M C P (K, N) is equivalent to Ricci curvature bounded below by K. On the other hand, it was observed in Rifford (Math. Control Relat. Fields 3(4), 467–487 2013) that there is a family of left invariant metrics on the three dimensional Heisenberg group for which the Ricci curvature is not bounded below. Though this family of metric spaces equipped with the Harr measure satisfy M C P (0,5). In this paper, we give sufficient conditions for a 2n+1 dimensional weakly Sasakian manifold to satisfy M C P (0, 2n + 3). This extends the above mentioned result on the Heisenberg group in Rifford (Math. Control Relat. Fields 3(4), 467–487 2013).  相似文献

In this survey paper, we give an overview of our recent works on the study of the W-entropy for the heat equation associated with the Witten Laplacian on super-Ricci flows and the Langevin deformation on the Wasserstein space over Riemannian manifolds. Inspired by Perelman’s seminal work on the entropy formula for the Ricci flow, we prove the W-entropy formula for the heat equation associated with the Witten Laplacian on n-dimensional complete Riemannian manifolds with the CD(K,m)-condition, and the W-entropy formula for the heat equation associated with the time-dependent Witten Laplacian on n-dimensional compact manifolds equipped with a (K,m)-super Ricci flow, where K ∈ R and m ∈ [n,∞]. Furthermore, we prove an analogue of the W-entropy formula for the geodesic flow on the Wasserstein space over Riemannian manifolds. Our result improves an important result due to Lott and Villani (2009) on the displacement convexity of the Boltzmann-Shannon entropy on Riemannian manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature. To better understand the similarity between above two W-entropy formulas, we introduce the Langevin deformation of geometric flows on the tangent bundle over the Wasserstein space and prove an extension of the W-entropy formula for the Langevin deformation. We also make a discussion on the W-entropy for the Ricci flow from the point of view of statistical mechanics and probability theory. Finally, to make this survey more helpful for the further development of the study of the W-entropy, we give a list of problems and comments on possible progresses for future study on the topic discussed in this survey.  相似文献

In this paper, we will establish a regularity theory for the Kähler–Ricci flow on Fano n-manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded in Lp-norm for some \({p > n}\). Using this regularity theory, we will also solve a long-standing conjecture for dimension 3. As an application, we give a new proof of the Yau–Tian–Donaldson conjecture for Fano 3-manifolds. The results have been announced in [45].  相似文献

Douglas metrics are metrics with vanishing Douglas curvature which is an important projective invariant in Finsler geometry. To find more Douglas metrics, in this paper we consider a class of Finsler metrics called general (α, β)-metrics, which are defined by a Riemannian metric \(\alpha = \sqrt {{a_{ij}}\left( x \right){y^i}{y^j}} \) and a 1-form β = b i (x)y i . We obtain the differential equations that characterizes these metrics with vanishing Douglas curvature. By solving the equivalent PDEs, the metrics in this class are totally determined. Then many new Douglas metrics are constructed.  相似文献

Upper bounds for the Jacobian determinant by holomorphic mappings of bounded domainsD into itself were given first more then thirty years ago by Stefan Bergman by means of his theory of the kernel function ofD. In this paper a different method shall be developed and distortion theorems for holomorphic mappings of bounded domains of a Kähler manifoldM n into a Kähler manifoldM 0 n shall be proved. The special casesM n =C n (unit sphere of C n ) andM n =M 0 n =|C n shall also be considered. The proof depends essentially on the two Hermitian quadratic forms corresponding to the metric and to the Ricci tensor. The manifolds must be of negative Ricci curvature and fulfil two conditions given in section 4.  相似文献

We illustrate some well-known facts about the evolution of the 3-sphere (S3, g) generated by the Ricci flow. We define the Dirac flow and study the properties of the metric \(\bar g = dt^2 + g(t)\), where g(t) is a solution of the Dirac flow. In the case of a metric g conformally equivalent to the round metric on S3 the metric \(\bar g\) is of constant curvature. We study the properties of solutions in the case when g depends on two functional parameters. The flow on differential 1-forms whose solution generates the Eguchi–Hanson metric was written down. In particular cases we study the singularities developed by these flows.  相似文献

This paper investigates the scheduling problem in a two-stage flexible flow shop, which consists of m stage-1 parallel dedicated machines and a stage-2 bottleneck machine, subject to the condition that n l jobs per type l∈{1, …, m} are processed in a fixed sequence. Four regular performance metrics, including the total completion time, the maximum lateness, the total tardiness, and the number of tardy jobs, are considered. For each considered objective function, we aim to determine an optimal interleaving processing sequence of all jobs coupled with their starting times on the stage-2 bottleneck machine. The problem under study is proved to be strongly NP-hard. An O(m2Πl=1 m n l 2) dynamic programming algorithm coupled with numerical experiments is presented.  相似文献

In this paper we present several curvature estimates for solutions of the Ricci flow and the modified Ricci flow (including the volume normalized Ricci flow and the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow), which depend on the smallness of certain local \(L^{\frac{n}{2}}\) integrals of the norm of the Riemann curvature tensor |Rm|, where n denotes the dimension of themanifold. These local integrals are scaling invariant and very natural.  相似文献

On a compact complex manifold of Kähler type, the energy E(Ω) of a Kähler class Ω is given by the squared L 2-norm of the projection onto the space of holomorphic potentials of the scalar curvature of any Kähler metric representing the said class, and any one such metric whose scalar curvature has squared L 2-norm equal to E(Ω) must be an extremal representative of Ω. A strongly extremal metric is an extremal metric representing a critical point of E(Ω) when restricted to the set of Kähler classes of fixed positive top cup product. We study the existence of strongly extremal metrics and critical points of E(Ω) on certain admissible manifolds, producing a number of nontrivial examples of manifolds that carry this type of metrics, and where in many of the cases, the class that they represent is one other than the first Chern class, and some examples of manifolds where these special metrics and classes do not exist. We also provide a detailed analysis of the gradient flow of E(Ω) on admissible ruled surfaces, show that this dynamical system can be extended to one beyond the Kähler cone, and analyze the convergence of solution paths at infinity in terms of conditions on the initial data, in particular proving that for any initial data in the Kähler cone, the corresponding path is defined for all t, and converges to a unique critical class of E(Ω) as time approaches infinity.  相似文献

Compact Kähler manifolds with semi-positive Ricci curvature have been investigated by various authors. From Peternell’s work, if M is a compact Kähler n-manifold with semi-positive Ricci curvature and finite fundamental group, then the universal cover has a decomposition \( \ifmmode\expandafter\tilde\else\expandafter\~\fi{M} \cong X_{1} \times \cdots \times X_{m} \), where X j is a Calabi-Yau manifold, or a hyperKähler manifold, or X j satisfies H 0(X j , Ω p ) = 0. The purpose of this paper is to generalize this theorem to almost non-negative Ricci curvature Kähler manifolds by using the Gromov-Hausdorff convergence. Let M be a compact complex n-manifold with non-vanishing Euler number. If for any ∈ > 0, there exists a Kähler structure (J , g ) on M such that the volume \({\text{Vol}}_{{g_{ \in } }} {\left( M \right)} < V\), the sectional curvature |K(g )| < Λ2, and the Ricci-tensor Ric(g )> ?∈g , where V and Λ are two constants independent of ∈. Then the fundamental group of M is finite, and M is diffeomorphic to a complex manifold X such that the universal covering of X has a decomposition, \( \ifmmode\expandafter\tilde\else\expandafter\~\fi{X} \cong X_{1} \times \cdots \times X_{s} \), where X i is a Calabi-Yau manifold, or a hyperKähler manifold, or X i satisfies H 0(X i , Ω p ) = {0}, p > 0.  相似文献

Let M~n(n ≥ 4) be an oriented closed submanifold with parallel mean curvature in an(n + p)-dimensional locally symmetric Riemannian manifold N~(n+p). We prove that if the sectional curvature of N is positively pinched in [δ, 1], and the Ricci curvature of M satisfies a pinching condition, then M is either a totally umbilical submanifold, or δ = 1, and N is of constant curvature. This result generalizes the geometric rigidity theorem due to Xu and Gu[15].  相似文献

We study a positivity condition for the curvature of oriented Riemannian 4-manifolds: the half-PIC condition. It is a slight weakening of the positive isotropic curvature (PIC) condition introduced by M. Micallef and J. Moore. We observe that the half-PIC condition is preserved by the Ricci flow and satisfies a maximality property among all Ricci flow invariant positivity conditions on the curvature of oriented 4-manifolds. We also study some geometric and topological aspects of half-PIC manifolds.  相似文献

On the geometry of Sasakian-Einstein 5-manifolds   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
On simply connected five manifolds Sasakian-Einstein metrics coincide with Riemannian metrics admitting real Killing spinors which are of great interest as models of near horizon geometry for three-brane solutions in superstring theory [24]. We expand on the recent work of Demailly and Kollár [14] and Johnson and Kollár [20] who give methods for constructing Kähler-Einstein metrics on log del Pezzo surfaces. By a previous result of the first two authors [9], circle V-bundles over log del Pezzo surfaces with Kähler-Einstein metrics have Sasakian-Einstein metrics on the total space of the bundle. Here these simply connected 5-manifolds arise as links of isolated hypersurface singularities which by the well known work of Smale [36] together with [11] must be diffeomorphic to S 5 #l(S 2 ×S 3 ). More precisely, using methods from Mori theory in algebraic geometry we prove the existence of 14 inequivalent Sasakian-Einstein structures on S 2 ×S 3 and infinite families of such structures on #l(S 2 ×S 3 ) with 2≤l≤7. We also discuss the moduli problem for these Sasakian-Einstein structures.  相似文献

A manifold is locally k-fold symmetric if for any point and any k-dimensional vector subspace tangent to this point, there exists a local isometry such that this point is a fixed point and the differential of the isometry restricted to that k-dimensional vector subspace is minus the identity. We show that for \(k \ge 2\), Riemannian, pseudoriemannian, and Finslerian locally k-fold symmetric manifolds are locally symmetric.  相似文献

We prove that for all n = 4k- 2 and k 2 there exists a closed smooth complex hyperbolic manifold M with real dimension n having non-trivial π1(T0(M)). T0(M) denotes the Teichm¨uller space of all negatively curved Riemannian metrics on M, which is the topological quotient of the space of all negatively curved metrics modulo the space of self-diffeomorphisms of M that are homotopic to the identity.  相似文献

In this paper, we have computed the warping functions for a Ricci flat Einstein multiply warped product spaces M with a quarter-symmetric connection for different dimensions of M [i.e; (1). dimM =  2, (2). dimM =  3, (3). \({dim M \geq 4}\)] and all the fibers are Ricci flat.  相似文献
