Let M be a type I von Neumann algebra with the center Z, and a faithful normal semi-finite trace τ. Consider the algebra L(M, τ) of all τ-measurable operators with respect to M and let S 0(M, τ) be the subalgebra of τ-compact operators in L(M, τ). We prove that any Z-linear derivation of S 0(M, τ) is spatial and generated by an element from L(M, τ).   相似文献

We introduce a new asymptotic one-sided and symmetric tensor norm, the latter of which can be considered as the minimal tensor norm on the category of separable C*-algebras with homotopy classes of asymptotic homomorphisms as morphisms. We show that the one-sided asymptotic tensor norm differs in general from both the minimal and the maximal tensor norms and discuss its relation to semi-invertibility of C*-extensions. We use repeating sequences of expander graphs or small perturbations of expanders to present examples of ideals in the Roe algebras of bounded geometry discrete metric spaces which cannot be expressed as the sum of a ghost ideal and an ideal in which finite propagation operators are dense. This group shows the relation between the unitary groupU N and the normalizerN E ofE, which can be also considered as the isotropy of the action of the unitary groupU M ofM onE. It is shown thatW(E) is finite if dimZ(N)< and bounded by the index in the factor case. Also sharp bounds of the order ofW(E) are founded.W(E) appears as the fibre of a covering space defined on the orbit ofE by the natural action of the unitary group ofM. Let GAut(A) be a discrete group which is exact, that is, admits an amenable action on some compact space. Then the entropy of an automorphism of the algebra A does not change by the canonical extension to the crossed product A×G. This is shown for the topological entropy of an exact C∗-algebra A and for the dynamical entropy of an AFD von Neumann algebra A. Let H be a separable complex Hilbert space, A a von Neumann algebra in ?(H),a faithful, normal state on A. We prove that if a sequence (Xn: n ≥ 1) of uncorrelated operators in A is bundle convergent to some operator X in A and Σn=1n−2 Var(Xn) log2(n + 1) < ∞, then X is proportional to the identity operator on H. We also prove an analogous theorem for certain uncorrelated vectors in the completion L2=L2(A,φ) of A given by the Gelfand-Naimark-Segal representation theorem. Both theorems were motivated by a recent one proved by Etemadi and Lenzhen in the classical commutative setting.  相似文献

In this paper, we study bimodules over a von Neumann algebra M   in the context of an inclusion M⊆M?αGMM?αG, where G is a discrete group acting on a factor M by outer ?-automorphisms. We characterize the M  -bimodules X⊆M?αGXM?αG that are closed in the Bures topology in terms of the subsets of G  . We show that this characterization also holds for w?w?-closed bimodules when G has the approximation property (AP  ), a class of groups that includes all amenable and weakly amenable ones. As an application, we prove a version of Mercer's extension theorem for certain w?w?-continuous surjective isometric maps on X.  相似文献

We classified in Bisch and Jones (Duke Math. J. 101 (2000) 41) all spherical C∗-planar algebras generated by a non-trivial 2-box subject to the condition that the dimension of N′∩M2 is ?12. We showed that they are given by the Fuss-Catalan systems discovered in Bisch and Jones (Invent. Math. 128 (1997) 89) and one exceptional planar algebra. In the present paper, we extend these results and show that there is only one spherical C∗-planar algebra generated by a single non-trivial 2-box if the dimension of N′∩M2 is 13. It is given by the standard invariant of the crossed product subfactor , where D5 denotes the dihedral group with 10 elements.  相似文献

Quantitative (or controlled) K-theory for C?-algebras was used by Guoliang Yu in his work on the Novikov conjecture, and later developed more formally by Yu together with Hervé Oyono-Oyono. In this paper, we extend their work by developing a framework of quantitative K-theory for the class of algebras of bounded linear operators on subquotients (i.e., subspaces of quotients) of Lp spaces. We also prove the existence of a controlled Mayer–Vietoris sequence in this framework.  相似文献

We extend in a noncommutative setting the individual ergodic theorem of Nevo and Stein concerning measure preserving actions of free groups and averages on spheres s2n of even radius. Here we study state preserving actions of free groups on a von Neumann algebra A and the behaviour of (s2n(x)) for x in noncommutative spaces Lp(A). For the Cesàro means this problem was solved by Walker. Our approach is based on ideas of Bufetov. We prove a noncommutative version of Rota ``Alternierende Verfahren' theorem. To this end, we introduce specific dilations of the powers of some noncommutative Markov operators.  相似文献
