With the target to design and develop new functionalized green triplet light emitters that possess distinctive electronic properties for robust and highly efficient phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs), a series of bluish–green to yellow–green phosphorescent tris‐cyclometalated homoleptic iridium(III) complexes [Ir(ppy‐X)3] (X=SiPh3, GePh3, NPh2, POPh2, OPh, SPh, SO2Ph, Hppy=2‐phenylpyridine) have been synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopic, redox, and photophysical methods. By chemically manipulating the lowest triplet‐state character of Ir(ppy)3 with some functional main‐group 14–16 moieties on the phenyl ring of ppy, a new family of metallophosphors with high‐emission quantum yields, short triplet‐state lifetimes, and good hole‐injection/hole‐transporting or electron‐injection/electron‐transporting properties can be obtained. Remarkably, all of these IrIII complexes show outstanding electrophosphorescent performance in multilayer doped devices that surpass that of the state‐of‐the‐art green‐emitting dopant Ir(ppy)3. The devices described herein can reach the maximum external quantum efficiency (ηext) of 12.3 %, luminance efficiency (ηL) of 50.8 cd A?1, power efficiency (ηp) of 36.9 Lm W?1 for [Ir(ppy‐SiPh3)3], 13.9 %, 60.8 cd A?1, 49.1 Lm W?1 for [Ir(ppy‐NPh2)3], and 10.1 %, 37.6 cd A?1, 26.1 Lm W?1 for [Ir(ppy‐SO2Ph)3]. These results provide a completely new and effective strategy for carrier injection into the electrophosphor to afford high‐performance PHOLEDs suitable for various display applications.  相似文献

We demonstrate high-efficient simple electrophosphorescent devices comprised of tris{4-[N-(3-methylphenyl)anilino]phenyl}amine (m-MTDATA) dispersed in a polycarbonate (PC) matrix as a hole-transporting layer (HTL), and 2-(biphenyl-4-yl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (PBD) as an electron-transporting layer (ETL). The HTL doped with a complex phosphor fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium, [Ir(ppy)3], and/or 5,6,11,12-tetraphenyltetracene (rubrene) fluorescent dye is shown to act as an emitter. Devices containing [Ir(ppy)3] as a single HTL dopant show the highest external quantum efficiency (QE) reaching 9 % (photon/electron) due to direct electron-hole recombination on phosphorescent [Ir(ppy)3]. A decrease in QE of one order of magnitude at high current densities is observed in all devices. Addition of rubrene to [Ir(ppy)3]-doped devices shifts the maximum QE towards larger current densities.  相似文献

A series of novel styrene derived monomers with triphenylamine‐based units, and their polymers have been synthesized and compared with the well‐known structure of polymer of N,N′‐bis(3‐methylphenyl)‐N,N′‐diphenylbenzidine with respect to their hole‐transporting behavior in phosphorescent polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs). A vinyltriphenylamine structure was selected as a basic unit, functionalized at the para positions with the following side groups: diphenylamine, 3‐methylphenyl‐aniline, 1‐ and 2‐naphthylamine, carbazole, and phenothiazine. The polymers are used in PLEDs as host polymers for blend systems with the following device configuration: glass/indium–tin–oxide/PEDOT:PSS/polymer‐blend/CsF/Ca/Ag. In addition to the hole‐transporting host polymer, the polymer blend includes a phosphorescent dopant [Ir(Me‐ppy)3] and an electron‐transporting molecule (2‐(4‐biphenyl)‐5‐(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole). We demonstrate that two polymers are excellent hole‐transporting matrix materials for these blend systems because of their good overall electroluminescent performances and their comparatively high glass transition temperatures. For the carbazole‐substituted polymer (Tg = 246 °C), a luminous efficiency of 35 cd A?1 and a brightness of 6700 cd m?2 at 10 V is accessible. The phenothiazine‐functionalized polymer (Tg = 220 °C) shows nearly the same outstanding PLED behavior. Hence, both these polymers outperform the well‐known polymer of N,N′‐bis(3‐methylphenyl)‐N,N′‐diphenylbenzidine, showing only a luminous efficiency of 7.9 cd A?1 and a brightness of 2500 cd m?2 (10 V). © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Highly organic soluble Ir(III) complexes with 9‐(6‐phenyl‐pyridin‐3‐ylmethyl)‐9H‐carbazole were simply synthesized, and the solubility of the new complex was significantly improved when compared with the conventional green‐emitting Ir(ppy)3. Since a carbazole group is tethered through a nonconjugated methylene spacer, the photophysical properties of new complexes are almost identical with those of conventional Ir(ppy)3. The pure complexes were utilized to prepare electrophosphorescent polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs). The device performances were observed to be relatively better or comparable with those of Ir(ppy)3 based poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) systems. The integration of rigid hole‐transporting carbazole and phosphorescent complex provides a new route to design highly efficient solution‐processable complex for electrophosphorescent PLED applications. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Compared to tris(2‐phenylpyridine)iridium(III) ([Ir(ppy)3]), iridium(III) complexes containing difluorophenylpyridine (df‐ppy) and/or an ancillary triazolylpyridine ligand [3‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazol‐5‐ylpyridinato (ptp) or 1‐benzyl‐1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐ylpyridine (ptb)] exhibit considerable hypsochromic shifts (ca. 25–60 nm), due to the significant stabilising effect of these ligands on the HOMO energy, whilst having relatively little effect on the LUMO. Despite their lower photoluminescence quantum yields compared with [Ir(ppy)3] and [Ir(df‐ppy)3], the iridium(III) complexes containing triazolylpyridine ligands gave greater electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) intensities (using tri‐n‐propylamine (TPA) as a co‐reactant), which can in part be ascribed to the more energetically favourable reactions of the oxidised complex (M+) with both TPA and its neutral radical oxidation product. The calculated iridium(III) complex LUMO energies were shown to be a good predictor of the corresponding M+ LUMO energies, and both HOMO and LUMO levels are related to ECL efficiency. The theoretical and experimental data together show that the best strategy for the design of efficient new blue‐shifted electrochemiluminophores is to aim to stabilise the HOMO, while only moderately stabilising the LUMO, thereby increasing the energy gap but ensuring favourable thermodynamics and kinetics for the ECL reaction. Of the iridium(III) complexes examined, [Ir(df‐ppy)2(ptb)]+ was most attractive as a blue‐emitter for ECL detection, featuring a large hypsochromic shift (λmax=454 and 484 nm), superior co‐reactant ECL intensity than the archetypal homoleptic green and blue emitters: [Ir(ppy)3] and [Ir(df‐ppy)3] (by over 16‐fold and threefold, respectively), and greater solubility in polar solvents.  相似文献

Synthesis of the polymer whose end is functionalized by fac‐Ir(ppy)3 (ppy = 2‐phenylpyridyl) was achieved by using (living) anionic polymerization of 1,3‐cyclohexadiene: the reaction of poly(1,3‐cyclohexadienyl)lithium (PCHDLi) with fac‐Ir(ppy)2(vppy) [vppy = 2‐(4‐vinylphenyl)pyridyl] resulted in nucleophilic attack of the carbanion in PCHDLi on the vinyl group of fac‐Ir(ppy)2(vppy) selectively. Complexation of the pyridyl ring protected the α‐carbons of fac‐Ir(ppy)2(vppy) from the reaction of the anionic polymer. The homopolymerization of fac‐Ir(ppy)2(vppy) did not occur, and only one molecule of fac‐Ir(ppy)2(vppy) reacted with the carbanion of PCHDLi and was selectively incorporated into an end of poly(1,3‐cyclohexadiene) (PCHD). Thus, the PCHD with fac‐Ir(ppy)3 end‐group was obtained with a well‐controlled and defined polymer structure and molecular weight. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A hole‐injection/transport bilayer structure on an indium tin oxide (ITO) layer was fabricated using two photocrosslinkable polymers with different molecular energy levels. Two photoreactive polymers were synthesized using 2,7‐(or 3,6‐)‐dibromo‐9‐(6‐((3‐methyloxetan‐3‐yl)methoxy)hexyl)‐9H‐carbazole) and 2,4‐dimethyl‐N,N‐bis(4‐ (4,4,5,5‐tetramethyl‐1,3,2‐dioxaborolan‐2‐yl)phenyl)aniline via a Suzuki coupling reaction. When the oxetane groups were photopolymerized in the presence of a cationic photoinitiator, the photocured film showed good solvent resistance and compatibility with a poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK)‐based emitting layer. Without the use of a conventional hole injection layer (HIL) of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)/(polystyrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), the resulting green light‐emitting device bearing PVK: 5‐4‐tert‐butylphenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole (PBD):Ir(Cz‐ppy)3 exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 9.69%; this corresponds to a luminous efficiency of 29.57 cd/A for the device K‐4 configuration ITO/POx‐I/POx‐II/PVK:PBD:Ir(Cz‐ppy)3/triazole/Alq3/LiF/Al. These values are much higher than those of PLEDs using conventional PEDOT:PSS as a single HIL. The significant improvement in device efficiency is the result of suppression of the hole injection/transport properties through double‐layered photocrosslinked‐conjugated polymers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A functionalized deoxyribonucleic acid (Cz‐DNA) was prepared with carbazolyl ammonium lipid as a triplet host material for phosphorescent material system. It is soluble in organic solvents, which facilitates the sample preparation for the absorption and luminescent properties in solid states. A highly soluble iridium complex, Ir(Cz‐ppy)3 with carbazolyl‐substituted 2‐phenylpyridine ligands was employed for studying the phosphorescence in Cz‐DNA. There is a good overlap between the photoluminescence spectrum of Cz‐DNA and the metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer (MLCT) absorption bands of the iridium complex. This overlap enables efficient energy transfer from the excited state in the host to the MLCT band of Ir(Cz‐ppy)3. In addition, photoluminescence quantum yield of Cz‐DNA was found to be relatively larger than the copolymer (PCzSt) with vinylcarbazole and styrene. Thus, Cz‐DNA was employed as a triplet host material for fabricating multilayered electrophosphorescence devices via modification of its property by doping 5,4‐tert‐butylhexyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole (PBD). After doping 30 wt % PBD and 10 wt % Ir(Cz‐ppy)3 into Cz‐DNA, we achieved much improvement in electron injection/transport from an adjacent carrier transport layer, resulting in much improved device performances. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Cyclometalated IrIII complexes with acetylide ppy and bpy ligands were prepared (ppy=2‐phenylpyridine, bpy=2,2′‐bipyridine) in which naphthal ( Ir‐2 ) and naphthalimide (NI) were attached onto the ppy ( Ir‐3 ) and bpy ligands ( Ir‐4 ) through acetylide bonds. [Ir(ppy)3] ( Ir‐1 ) was also prepared as a model complex. Room‐temperature phosphorescence was observed for the complexes; both neutral and cationic complexes Ir‐3 and Ir‐4 showed strong absorption in the visible range (ε=39600 M ?1 cm?1 at 402 nm and ε=25100 M ?1 cm?1 at 404 nm, respectively), long‐lived triplet excited states (τT=9.30 μs and 16.45 μs) and room‐temperature red emission (λem=640 nm, Φp=1.4 % and λem=627 nm, Φp=0.3 %; cf. Ir‐1 : ε=16600 M ?1 cm?1 at 382 nm, τem=1.16 μs, Φp=72.6 %). Ir‐3 was strongly phosphorescent in non‐polar solvent (i.e., toluene), but the emission was completely quenched in polar solvents (MeCN). Ir‐4 gave an opposite response to the solvent polarity, that is, stronger phosphorescence in polar solvents than in non‐polar solvents. Emission of Ir‐1 and Ir‐2 was not solvent‐polarity‐dependent. The T1 excited states of Ir‐2 , Ir‐3 , and Ir‐4 were identified as mainly intraligand triplet excited states (3IL) by their small thermally induced Stokes shifts (ΔEs), nanosecond time‐resolved transient difference absorption spectroscopy, and spin‐density analysis. The complexes were used as triplet photosensitizers for triplet‐triplet annihilation (TTA) upconversion and quantum yields of 7.1 % and 14.4 % were observed for Ir‐2 and Ir‐3 , respectively, whereas the upconversion was negligible for Ir‐1 and Ir‐4 . These results will be useful for designing visible‐light‐harvesting transition‐metal complexes and for their applications as triplet photosensitizers for photocatalysis, photovoltaics, TTA upconversion, etc.  相似文献

A new dual luminescent sensitive paint for barometric pressure and temperature (T) is presented. The green‐emitting iridium(III) complex [Ir(ppy)2(carbac)] (ppy=2‐phenylpyridine; carbac=1‐(9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)‐5,5‐dimethylhexane‐2,4‐dione) was applied as a novel probe for T along with the red‐emitting complex [Ir(btpy)3], (btpy=2‐(benzo[b]thiophene‐2‐yl)pyridine) which functions as a barometric (in fact oxygen‐sensitive) probe. Both iridium complexes were dissolved in different polymer materials to achieve optimal responses. The probe [Ir(ppy)2(carbac)] was dispersed in gas‐blocking poly(acrylonitrile) microparticles in order to suppress any quenching of its luminescence by oxygen. The barometric probe [Ir(btpy)3], in turn, was incorporated in a cellulose acetate butyrate film which exhibits good permeability for oxygen. The effects of temperature on the response of the oxygen probe can be corrected by simultaneous optical determination of T, as the poly(acrylonitrile) microparticles containing the temperature indicator are incorporated into the film. The phosphorescent signals of the probes for T and barometric pressure, respectively, can be separated by optical filters due to the ≈75 nm difference in their emission maxima. The dual sensor is applicable to luminescence lifetime imaging of T and barometric pressure. It is the first luminescent dual sensor material for barometric pressure/T based exclusively on the use of IrIII complexes in combination with luminescence lifetime imaging.  相似文献

A new aromatic host polymer poly{[1,4‐bis(9‐decylcarbazole‐3‐yl)‐2,3,5,6‐tetrafluorobenzene‐3,3′‐diyl]‐alt‐[N‐methylisatin‐2‐one‐3,3‐diyl]} (PICzFB) containing carbazole–tetrafluorinebeneze–carbazole moiety in the π‐conjugated interrupted polymer backbone was synthesized by superacid‐catalyzed metal‐free polyhydroxyalkylation. The resulted copolymer PICzFB showed a comparatively wide band gap up to 3.32 eV and high triplet energy (ET) of 2.73 eV due to confined conjugation by the δ? C bond interrupted polymer backbone. Blue and green light‐emitting devices with PICzFB as host, FIrpic and Ir(mppy)3 as phosphorescent dopants showed the maximum luminous efficiencies of 5.0 and 27.6 cd/A, respectively. The results suggested that the strategy of incorporating bipolar unit into the π‐conjugated interrupted polymer backbone can be a promising approach to obtain host polymer with high triplet level for solution‐processed blue and green phosphorescent polymer light‐emitting diodes. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We prepared an iridium polymer complex having 2‐phenylpyridine as a η2‐cyclometallated ligand, a new OLED containing a solution‐processible iridium polymer as a host, and a phosphorescent iridium complex, [Ir(piq‐tBu)3] as a guest. This is the first example to apply a phosphorescent iridium complex polymer to a host material in a phosphorescent OLED. A phosphine copolymer ligand made from methyl methacrylate (MMA) and 4‐styryldiphenylphosphine can be used as an anchor polymer, which coordinates to luminescent iridium units to form a host metallopolymer easily. The OLED containing the host iridium‐complex polymer film, in which the guest, 2 wt % Ir(piq‐tBu)3, was doped, showed red electroluminescence as a result of efficient energy transfer from the iridium polymer host to the iridium guest. The maximum current efficiency of the device was 1.00, suggesting that a soluble iridium complex polymer can be used as a solution‐processible polymer host in EL devices. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) from tris(2‐phenylpyridine)irdium [Ir(ppy)3] was investigated following cross reaction of its anion with oxidized poly(N‐vinyl‐carbazole) (PVK) and its cation with reduced 2‐(4‐biphenylyl)‐5‐(4‐tert‐butyl‐phenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole (PBD). Both cross reactions show Ir(ppy)3 emission and the cross reaction of PVK/Ir(ppy)3 showed the highest ECL intensity. The comparisons of the reaction enthalpy and the energy of Ir(ppy)3 light emitting shows that reaction between PVK and Ir(ppy)3 is energy sufficient to populate metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited singlet (3.04 eV) of Ir(ppy)3, while the reaction between Ir(ppy)+3 and PBD− · is energy efficient to populate MLCT excited triplet (2.4 eV). The ECL result in solution reveals that the energy released from charge transfer between the Ir(ppy)3 and PVK or PBD is sufficient to produce the excited state of Ir(ppy)3 in solid polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) based on PVK:PBD hosts doped by Ir(ppy)3. These results obtained will provide further insight into charge‐transfer excitation in PLEDs.  相似文献

Red phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes based on fluorine‐, phenyl‐, and fluorophenyl‐substituted 2‐arylquinoline ligands were designed and synthesized. To investigate their electrophosphorescent properties, devices were fabricated with the following structure: indium tin oxide (ITO)/4,4′,4′′‐tris[2‐naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine (2‐TNATA)/4,4′‐bis[N‐(1‐naphthyl)‐N‐phenylamino]biphenyl (NPB)/4,4′‐bis(N‐carbazolyl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl (CBP): 8 % iridium (III) complexes/bathocuproine (BCP)/tris(8‐hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum (Alq3)/8‐hydroxyquinoline lithium (Liq)/Al. All devices, which use these materials showed efficient red emissions. In particular, a device exhibited a saturated red emission with a maximum luminance, external quantum efficiency, and luminous efficiency of 14200 cd m?2, 8.44 %, and 6.58 cd A?1 at 20 mA cm?2, respectively. The CIE (x, y) coordinates of this device are (0.67, 0.33) at 12.0 V.  相似文献

Two hybrids based on 1,8‐disubstituted carbazole, 1,8‐OXDCz and 1,8‐mBICz , have been designed and synthesized through a facile process. The incorporation of oxadiazole or N‐phenylbenzimidazole moieties at the 1,8‐positions of carbazole greatly improves its morphological stability, giving glass transition temperatures (Tg) as high as 138 and 154 °C, respectively. Blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting devices (PhOLEDs) with 1,8‐mBICz exhibit almost the same performance as a similarly structured device based on the mCP host, and green PhOLEDs employing the new host material 1,8‐OXDCz exhibit an ideal turn‐on voltage (2.5 V at 1.58 cd m?2), a maximum current efficiency (ηc,max) of 73.9 cd A?1, and a power efficiency (ηp,max) of 89.7 lm W?1. These results are among the best performances of [Ir(ppy)3]‐based devices with simple device configurations.  相似文献

Novel 2‐(1‐substituted‐1H‐1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐yl)pyridine (pytl) ligands have been prepared by “click chemistry” and used in the preparation of heteroleptic complexes of Ru and Ir with bipyridine (bpy) and phenylpyridine (ppy) ligands, respectively, resulting in [Ru(bpy)2(pytl‐R)]Cl2 and [Ir(ppy)2(pytl‐R)]Cl (R=methyl, adamantane (ada), β‐cyclodextrin (βCD)). The two diastereoisomers of the Ir complex with the appended β‐cyclodextrin, [Ir(ppy)2(pytl‐βCD)]Cl, were separated. The [Ru(bpy)2(pytl‐R)]Cl2 (R=Me, ada or βCD) complexes have lower lifetimes and quantum yields than other polypyridine complexes. In contrast, the cyclometalated Ir complexes display rather long lifetimes and very high emission quantum yields. The emission quantum yield and lifetime (Φ=0.23, τ=1000 ns) of [Ir(ppy)2(pytl‐ada)]Cl are surprisingly enhanced in [Ir(ppy)2(pytl‐βCD)]Cl (Φ=0.54, τ=2800 ns). This behavior is unprecedented for a metal complex and is most likely due to its increased rigidity and protection from water molecules as well as from dioxygen quenching, because of the hydrophobic cavity of the βCD covalently attached to pytl. The emissive excited state is localized on these cyclometalating ligands, as underlined by the shift to the blue (450 nm) upon substitution with two electron‐withdrawing fluorine substituents on the phenyl unit. The significant differences between the quantum yields of the two separate diastereoisomers of [Ir(ppy)2(pytl‐βCD)]Cl (0.49 vs. 0.70) are attributed to different interactions of the chiral cyclodextrin substituent with the Δ and Λ isomers of the metal complex.  相似文献

In this study, two new dibenzofuran derivatives featuring one or two cyanocarbazole units, 6‐(dibenzo[b,d]furan‐4‐yl)‐9‐phenyl‐9H‐carbazole‐3‐carbonitrile ( mBFCzCN) and 6,6′‐(dibenzo[b,d]furan‐4,6‐diyl)bis(9‐phenyl‐9H‐carbazole‐3‐carbonitrile) ( dBFCzCN ), were developed as host materials for phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). A new molecular design connecting the cyanocarbazole to the dibenzofuran using the cyanocarbazole 6‐position instead of its 9‐position was created, and the effects of number of cyanocarbazole units in the dibenzofuran building block on the photophysical and electroluminescence properties were investigated in detail. The mBFCzCN compound revealed high triplet energy (2.78 eV) than that of dBFCzCN (2.68 eV) and good bipolar charge transporting properties. The potential of these materials as hosts for blue and green PhOLEDs was investigated using bis(4,6‐(difluorophenyl)pyridinato‐N,C2′)picolinate iridium(III) (FIrpic) and tris(2‐phenylpyridinato)iridium(III) (Ir(ppy)3) dopants, respectively. The results indicated that the mBFCzCN with one cyanocarbazole unit showed better device performance than the dBFCzCN with two cyanocarbazole units in the blue and green devices. High external quantum efficiencies of 19.0 and 21.2 % were demonstrated in the blue and green PhOLEDs with the mBFCzCN host due to its high triplet energy and good bipolar charge transporting characteristics.  相似文献

By combining the iridium(III) ppy‐type complex (Hppy=2‐phenylpyridine) with a square‐planar platinum(II) unit, some novel phosphorescent oligometallaynes bearing dual metal centers (viz. IrIII and PtII) were developed by combining trans‐[Pt(PBu3)2Cl2] with metalloligands of iridium possessing bifunctional pendant acetylene groups. Photophysical and computational studies indicated that the phosphorescent excited states arising from these oligometallaynes can be ascribed to the triplet emissive IrIII ppy‐type chromophore, owing to the obvious trait (such as the longer phosphorescent lifetime at 77 K) also conferred by the PtII center. So, the two different metal centers show a synergistic effect in governing the photophysical behavior of these heterometallic oligometallaynes. The inherent nature of these amorphous materials renders the fabrication of simple solution‐processed doped phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) feasible by effectively blocking the close‐packing of the host molecules. Saliently, such a synergistic effect is also important in affording decent device performance for the solution‐processed PHOLEDs. A maximum brightness of 3 356 cd m?2 (or 2 708 cd m?2), external quantum efficiency of 0.50 % (or 0.67 %), luminance efficiency of 1.59 cd A?1 (or 1.55 cd A?1), and power efficiency of 0.60 Lm W?1 (or 0.55 Lm W?1) for the yellow (or orange) phosphorescent PHOLEDs can be obtained. These results show the great potential of these bimetallic emitters for organic light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

Three NIR‐emitting neutral IrIII complexes [Ir(iqbt)2(dpm)] ( 1 ), [Ir(iqbt)2(tta)] ( 2 ), and [Ir(iqbt)2(dtdk)] ( 3 ) based on the 1‐(benzo[b]thiophen‐2‐yl)‐isoquinolinate (iqtb) were synthesized and characterized (dpm=2,2,6,6‐tetramethyl‐3,5‐heptanedionate; tta=2‐thienoyltrifluoroacetonate; dtdk=1,3‐di(thiophen‐2‐yl)propane‐1,3‐dionate). The compounds emit between λ=680 and 850 nm with high luminescence quantum yields (up to 16 %). By combining electrochemistry, photophysical measurements, and computational modelling, the relationship between the structure, energy levels, and properties were investigated. NIR‐emitting, solution‐processed phosphorescent organic light‐emitting devices (PHOLEDs) were fabricated using the complexes. The devices show remarkable external quantum efficiencies (above 3 % with 1 ) with negligible efficiency roll‐off values, exceeding the highest reported values for solution‐processible NIR emitters.  相似文献

A new phosphorescent dinuclear cationic iridium(III) complex ( Ir1 ) with a donor–acceptor–π‐bridge–acceptor–donor (D? A? π? A? D)‐conjugated oligomer ( L1 ) as a N^N ligand and a triarylboron compound as a C^N ligand has been synthesized. The photophysical and excited‐state properties of Ir1 and L1 were investigated by UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and molecular‐orbital calculations, and they were compared with those of the mononuclear iridium(III) complex [Ir(Bpq)2(bpy)]+PF6? ( Ir0 ). Compared with Ir0 , complex Ir1 shows a more‐intense optical‐absorption capability, especially in the visible‐light region. For example, complex Ir1 shows an intense absorption band that is centered at λ=448 nm with a molar extinction coefficient (ε) of about 104, which is rarely observed for iridium(III) complexes. Complex Ir1 displays highly efficient orange–red phosphorescent emission with an emission wavelength of 606 nm and a quantum efficiency of 0.13 at room temperature. We also investigated the two‐photon‐absorption properties of complexes Ir0 , Ir1 , and L1 . The free ligand ( L1 ) has a relatively small two‐photon absorption cross‐section (δmax=195 GM), but, when complexed with iridium(III) to afford dinuclear complex Ir1 , it exhibits a higher two‐photon‐absorption cross‐section than ligand L1 in the near‐infrared region and an intense two‐photon‐excited phosphorescent emission. The maximum two‐photon‐absorption cross‐section of Ir1 is 481 GM, which is also significantly larger than that of Ir0 . In addition, because the strong B? F interaction between the dimesitylboryl groups and F? ions interrupts the extended π‐conjugation, complex Ir1 can be used as an excellent one‐ and two‐photon‐excited “ON–OFF” phosphorescent probe for F? ions.  相似文献
