In this paper, we propose a new method for image restoration problems, which are degraded by impulsive noise, with nonconvex data fitting term and nonconvex regularizer. The proposed method possesses the advantages of nonconvex data fitting and nonconvex regularizer simultaneously, namely, robustness for impulsive noise and efficiency for restoring neat edge images.Further, we propose an efficient algorithm to solve the “Nonconvex+Nonconvex” structure problem via using the alternating direction minimization, and prove that the algorithm is globally convergent when the regularization parameter is known. However, the regularization parameter is unavailable in general. Thereby, we combine the algorithm with the continuation technique and modified Morozov’s discrepancy principle to get an improved algorithm in which a suitable regularization parameter can be chosen automatically. The experiments reveal the superior performances of the proposed algorithm in comparison with some existing methods.  相似文献

In this work, the problem of the restoration of images corrupted by space invariant blur and noise is considered. This problem is ill-posed and regularization is required. The image restoration problem is formulated as a nonnegatively constrained minimization problem whose objective function depends on the statistical properties of the noise corrupting the observed image. The cases of Gaussian and Poisson noise are both considered. A Newton-like projection method with early stopping of the iterates is proposed as an iterative regularization method in order to determine a nonnegative approximation to the original image. A suitable approximation of the Hessian of the objective function is proposed for a fast solution of the Newton system. The results of the numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the method in computing a good solution in few iterations, when compared with some methods recently proposed as best performing.  相似文献

In this paper a quasi-Newton projection method for image deblurring is presented. The image restoration problem is mathematically formulated as a nonnegatively constrained minimization problem where the objective function is the sum of the Kullback–Leibler divergence, used to express fidelity to the data in the presence of Poisson noise, and of a Tikhonov regularization term. The Hessian of the objective function is approximated so that the Newton system can be efficiently solved by using Fast Fourier Transforms. The numerical results show the potential of the proposed method both in terms of relative error reduction and computational efficiency.  相似文献

This paper focuses on efficient computational approaches to compute approximate solutions of a linear inverse problem that is contaminated with mixed Poisson–Gaussian noise, and when there are additional outliers in the measured data. The Poisson–Gaussian noise leads to a weighted minimization problem, with solution-dependent weights. To address outliers, the standard least squares fit-to-data metric is replaced by the Talwar robust regression function. Convexity, regularization parameter selection schemes, and incorporation of non-negative constraints are investigated. A projected Newton algorithm is used to solve the resulting constrained optimization problem, and a preconditioner is proposed to accelerate conjugate gradient Hessian solves. Numerical experiments on problems from image deblurring illustrate the effectiveness of the methods.  相似文献

We analyze the energy method for inverse problems. We study the unconstrained minimization of the energy functional consisting of a least‐square fidelity term and two other regularization terms being the seminorm in the BV space and the norm in the G space. We consider a coercive (non)linear operator modelling the forward problem. We establish the uniqueness and stability results for the minimization problems. The stability is studied with respect to the perturbations in the data, in the operator, as well as in the regularization parameters. We settle convergence results for the general minimization schemes. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In many science and engineering applications, the discretization of linear ill-posed problems gives rise to large ill-conditioned linear systems with the right-hand side degraded by noise. The solution of such linear systems requires the solution of minimization problems with one quadratic constraint, depending on an estimate of the variance of the noise. This strategy is known as regularization. In this work, we propose a modification of the Lagrange method for the solution of the noise constrained regularization problem. We present the numerical results of test problems, image restoration and medical imaging denoising. Our results indicate that the proposed Lagrange method is effective and efficient in computing good regularized solutions of ill-conditioned linear systems and in computing the corresponding Lagrange multipliers. Moreover, our numerical experiments show that the Lagrange method is computationally convenient. Therefore, the Lagrange method is a promising approach for dealing with ill-posed problems. Image restoration is a fundamental problem in image processing. Except for many different filters applied to obtain a restored image in image restoration, a degraded image can often be recovered efficiently by minimizing a cost function which consists of a data-fidelity term and a regularization term. In specific, half-quadratic regularization can effectively preserve image edges in the recovered images and a fixed-point iteration method is usually employed to solve the minimization problem. In this paper, the Newton method is applied to solve the half-quadratic regularization image restoration problem. And at each step of the Newton method, a structured linear system of a symmetric positive definite coefficient matrix arises. We design two different decomposition-based block preconditioning matrices by considering the special structure of the coefficient matrix and apply the preconditioned conjugate gradient method to solve this linear system. Theoretical analysis shows the eigenvector properties and the spectral bounds for the preconditioned matrices. The method used to analyze the spectral distribution of the preconditioned matrix and the correspondingly obtained spectral bounds are different from those in the literature. The experimental results also demonstrate that the decomposition-based block preconditioned conjugate gradient method is efficient for solving the half-quadratic regularization image restoration in terms of the numerical performance and image recovering quality.  相似文献

We consider the augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) as a solver for the fused lasso signal approximator (FLSA) problem. The ALM is a dual method in which squares of the constraint functions are added as penalties to the Lagrangian. In order to apply this method to FLSA, two types of auxiliary variables are introduced to transform the original unconstrained minimization problem into a linearly constrained minimization problem. Each updating in this iterative algorithm consists of just a simple one-dimensional convex programming problem, with closed form solution in many cases. While the existing literature mostly focused on the quadratic loss function, our algorithm can be easily implemented for general convex loss. We also provide some convergence analysis of the algorithm. Finally, the method is illustrated with some simulation datasets.  相似文献

Image inpainting has been widely used in practice to repair damaged/missing pixels of given images. Most of the existing inpainting techniques require knowing beforehand where those damaged pixels are, either given as a priori or detected by some pre-processing. However, in certain applications, such information neither is available nor can be reliably pre-detected, e.g. removing random-valued impulse noise from images or removing certain scratches from archived photographs. This paper introduces a blind inpainting model to solve this type of problems, i.e., a model of simultaneously identifying and recovering damaged pixels of the given image. A tight frame based regularization approach is developed in this paper for such blind inpainting problems, and the resulted minimization problem is solved by the split Bregman algorithm first proposed by Goldstein and Osher (2009) [1]. The proposed blind inpainting method is applied to various challenging image restoration tasks, including recovering images that are blurry and damaged by scratches and removing image noise mixed with both Gaussian and random-valued impulse noise. The experiments show that our method is compared favorably against many available two-staged methods in these applications.  相似文献

The goal of this paper is to find a low‐rank approximation for a given nth tensor. Specifically, we give a computable strategy on calculating the rank of a given tensor, based on approximating the solution to an NP‐hard problem. In this paper, we formulate a sparse optimization problem via an l1‐regularization to find a low‐rank approximation of tensors. To solve this sparse optimization problem, we propose a rescaling algorithm of the proximal alternating minimization and study the theoretical convergence of this algorithm. Furthermore, we discuss the probabilistic consistency of the sparsity result and suggest a way to choose the regularization parameter for practical computation. In the simulation experiments, the performance of our algorithm supports that our method provides an efficient estimate on the number of rank‐one tensor components in a given tensor. Moreover, this algorithm is also applied to surveillance videos for low‐rank approximation.  相似文献

The variational image decomposition model decomposes an image into a structural and an oscillatory component by regularization technique and functional minimization. It is an important task in various image processing methods, such as image restoration, image segmentation, and object recognition. In this paper, we propose a non-convex and non-smooth variational decomposition model for image restoration that uses non-convex and non-smooth total variation (TV) to measure the structure component and the negative Sobolev space H1 to model the oscillatory component. The new model combines the advantages of non-convex regularization and weaker-norm texture modeling, and it can well remove the noises while preserving the valuable edges and contours of the image. The iteratively reweighted l1 (IRL1) algorithm is employed to solve the proposed non-convex minimization problem. For each subproblem, we use the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm to solve it. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed model for both synthetic and real images in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and mean structural similarity index (MSSIM).  相似文献

This paper proposes a new image restoration technique, in which the resulting regularized image approximates the optimal solution steadily. The affect of the regular-ization operator and parameter on the lower band and upper band energy of the residue of the regularized image is theoretically analyzed by employing wavelet transform. This paper shows that regularization operator should generally be lowstop and highpass. So this paper chooses a lowstop and highpass operator as regularization operator, and construct an optimization model which minimizes the mean squares residue of regularized solution to determine regularization parameter. Although the model is random, on the condition of this paper, it can be solved and yields regularization parameter and regularized solu-tion. Otherwise, the technique has a mechanism to predict noise energy. So, without noisei nformation, it can also work and yield good restoration results.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new model for MR image reconstruction based on second order total variation ( \(\text {TV}^{2}\) ) regularization and wavelet, which can be considered as requiring the image to be sparse in both the spatial finite differences and wavelet transforms. Furthermore, by applying the variable splitting technique twice, augmented Lagrangian method and the Barzilai-Borwein step size selection scheme, an ADMM algorithm is designed to solve the proposed model. It reduces the reconstruction problem to several unconstrained minimization subproblems, which can be solved by shrinking operators and alternating minimization algorithms. The proposed algorithm needs not to solve a fourth-order PDE but to solve several second-order PDEs so as to improve calculation efficiency. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented algorithm and illustrate that the proposed model outperforms some reconstruction models in the quality of reconstructed images.  相似文献

In this paper, we first propose a constrained optimization reformulation to the \(L_{1/2}\) regularization problem. The constrained problem is to minimize a smooth function subject to some quadratic constraints and nonnegative constraints. A good property of the constrained problem is that at any feasible point, the set of all feasible directions coincides with the set of all linearized feasible directions. Consequently, the KKT point always exists. Moreover, we will show that the KKT points are the same as the stationary points of the \(L_{1/2}\) regularization problem. Based on the constrained optimization reformulation, we propose a feasible descent direction method called feasible steepest descent method for solving the unconstrained \(L_{1/2}\) regularization problem. It is an extension of the steepest descent method for solving smooth unconstrained optimization problem. The feasible steepest descent direction has an explicit expression and the method is easy to implement. Under very mild conditions, we show that the proposed method is globally convergent. We apply the proposed method to solve some practical problems arising from compressed sensing. The results show its efficiency.  相似文献

A problem of unconstrained minimization of a semicoercive nondifferentiable functional corresponding to a model friction problem is reduced to a problem of constrained minimization of a differentiable functional. An algorithm based on iterative proximal regularization of a modified Lagrangian functional is used for solving the problem thus obtained. Convergence of a finite-element solution is investigated. Results of numerical calculations are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with l 0-norm data fitting and total variation regularization for image compression and denoising. The l 0-norm data fitting is used for measuring the number of non-zero wavelet coefficients to be employed to represent an image. The regularization term given by the total variation is to recover image edges. Due to intensive numerical computation of using l 0-norm, it is usually approximated by other functions such as the l 1-norm in many image processing applications. The main goal of this paper is to develop a fast and effective algorithm to solve the l 0-norm data fitting and total variation minimization problem. Our idea is to apply an alternating minimization technique to solve this problem, and employ a graph-cuts algorithm to solve the subproblem related to the total variation minimization. Numerical examples in image compression and denoising are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

We discuss several optimization procedures to solve finite element approximations of linear-quadratic Dirichlet optimal control problems governed by an elliptic partial differential equation posed on a 2D or 3D Lipschitz domain. The control is discretized explicitly using continuous piecewise linear approximations. Unconstrained, control-constrained, state-constrained and control-and-state constrained problems are analysed. A preconditioned conjugate method for a reduced problem in the control variable is proposed to solve the unconstrained problem, whereas semismooth Newton methods are discussed for the solution of constrained problems. State constraints are treated via a Moreau–Yosida penalization. Convergence is studied for both the continuous problems and the finite dimensional approximations. In the finite dimensional case, we are able to show convergence of the optimization procedures even in the absence of Tikhonov regularization parameter. Computational aspects are also treated and several numerical examples are included to illustrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

New Constrained Optimization Reformulation of Complementarity Problems   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We suggest a reformulation of the complementarity problem CP(F) as a minimization problem with nonnegativity constraints. This reformulation is based on a particular unconstrained minimization reformulation of CP(F) introduced by Geiger and Kanzow as well as Facchinei and Soares. This allows us to use nonnegativity constraints for all the variables or only a subset of the variables on which the function F depends. Appropriate regularity conditions ensure that a stationary point of the new reformulation is a solution of the complementarity problem. In particular, stationary points with negative components can be avoided in contrast to the reformulation as unconstrained minimization problem. This advantage will be demonstrated for a class of complementarity problems which arise when the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions of a convex inequality constrained optimization problem are considered.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a fast and efficient way to restore blurred and noisy images with a high-order total variation minimization technique. The proposed method is based on an alternating technique for image deblurring and denoising. It starts by finding an approximate image using a Tikhonov regularization method. This corresponds to a deblurring process with possible artifacts and noise remaining. In the denoising step, a high-order total variation algorithm is used to remove noise in the deblurred image. We see that the edges in the restored image can be preserved quite well and the staircase effect is reduced effectively in the proposed algorithm. We also discuss the convergence of the proposed regularization method. Some numerical results show that the proposed method gives restored images of higher quality than some existing total variation restoration methods such as the fast TV method and the modified TV method with the lagged diffusivity fixed-point iteration.  相似文献
