A high-efficiency 1341 nm Nd:GdVO4 laser in-band pumped at 912 nm is demonstrated for the first time. Using an all-solid-state Nd:GdVO4 laser operating at 912 nm as pump source, 542 mW output was obtained with 1.14 W absorbed pump power. The slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power was 56.6%, and the fluctuation of the output power was better than 2.6% in the given 30 min. The beam quality factor M 2 is 1.15.  相似文献

We report on a compact 880-nm diode-directly-pumped passively mode-locked TEM00 Nd:GdVO4 laser at 1341 nm with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) for the first time. Under the absorbed pump power of 14.6 W, the maximum output power of 1.27 W was obtained at the repetition rate of 85.3 MHz with the pulse width of 45.3 ps, corresponding to an optical-optical efficiency of 8.8% and the slope efficiency of 33.3%, respectively. The beam quality factor was measured to be M 2 = 1.18, indicating a TEM00 mode.  相似文献

A compact diode-side-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser system using a folded cavity and grazing-incidence configuration is presented. The highest multimode output power obtained was 21.8 W at 36 W of effective diode pump power. Highest optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 61.5% was achieved at 33 W of effective diode pump power with 20.3 W of multimode output power. For single-mode TEM00 operation, an intracavity telescope was adopted for mode matching in the horizontal direction. Because of the folded cavity and the intracavity telescope, this laser head was the most compact to our knowledge of the TEM00 grazing-incidence laser geometry. At last, an output power of 15 W was produced at 36 W of effective diode pump power. The stable Q-switching operation was also obtained. PACS 42.55.-f; 42.55.Xi; 42.60.Gd  相似文献

A diode-end-pumped passively Q-switched 912 nm Nd:GdVO4/Cr:YAG laser is demonstrated for the first time. In a concave-piano cavity, pulsed 912 nm laser performance is investigated using two kinds of Cr:YAG crystal with different unsaturated transmission (T U) of 95% and 90% at 912 nm as the saturable absorbers. When the T U = 90% Cr:YAG is used, as much as 2.6 W average output power for short pulsed 912 nm laser is achieved at an absorbed pump power of 34.0 W, corresponding to an optical efficiency of 7.6% and a slope efficiency of 20.3%. Moreover, 10.5 ns duration pulses and up to 2.3 kW peak power is obtained at the repetition rate around 81.6 kHz.  相似文献

Continuous wave (CW) 4.91 W output power at 912 nm is obtained under 18.3 W of incident pump power; the slope efficiency with respect to the incident pump power was 57.5%. Moreover, intracavity frequency doubling with BiB3O6 (BiBO) nonlinear crystal yielded 1.33 W of deep-blue light at 456 nm.  相似文献

We demonstrate a low-threshold and efficient diode-pumped passively continuous wave (CW) mode-locked Nd:GdVO4 laser with a reflective semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). The threshold for the continuous wave was 0.36 W, and it is the lowest threshold for a continuous wave in a passively mode-locked Nd:GdVO4 laser to our knowledge. The maximum average output power of 1.82 W was obtained at a pump power of 6.65 W with a slope efficiency of about 29%. The CW mode-locked pulse duration was measured to be about 10.5 ps with a 116-MHz repetition rate.  相似文献

The continuous-wave high-efficiency laser emission of Nd:GdVO4 at the second-harmonic of 456 nm obtained by intracavity frequency doubling with an BiB3O6(BiBO) nonlinear crystal is investigated under pumping by diode laser at 880 nm into emitting level 4F3/2. About 3.8 W at 456 nm with M2 = 1.4 was obtained from a 5 mm-thick 0.4 at.% Nd:GdVO4 laser medium and a 12 mm-long BiBO nonlinear crystal in a Z-type cavity for 13.9 W absorbed pump power. An optical-to-optical efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power was 0.274. Comparative results obtained for the pump with diode laser at 808 nm, into the highly-absorbing 4F5/2 level, are given in order to prove the advantages of the 880 nm wavelength pumping.  相似文献

The character of a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/V3+:YAG 912 nm laser was demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge. With an absorbed pump power of 7.4 W, an average output power of 360 mW with a Q-switched pulse width of 328 ns at a pulse repetition rate of 163 kHz was obtained. The Q-switching efficiency was found to be 32.7%. Our work further indicated V3+:YAG could be an effective fast passive Q-switch for 0.9 μm radiation.  相似文献

We report an Yb:Sr5(PO4)3F (Yb:S-FAP) laser emitting at 985 nm intracavity pumped by a 912 nm diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser. A 808 nm diode laser is used to pump the Nd:GdVO4 crystal emitting at 912 nm, and the Yb:S-FAP laser emitting at 985 nm intracavity pumped at 912 nm. With incident pump power of 17.5 W, intracavity second harmonic generation has been demonstrated with a power of 131 mW at 492.5 nm by using a LBO nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

We present experimental investigation on quasi-three-level Nd:YVO4 laser operation at 914 nm under 879 nm diode pumping directly into emitting level. A maximal output power of 3.0 W under an absorbed pump power of 13.4 W was got, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 22.4% and a slope efficiency of 40.3%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on a Nd:YVO4 laser at 914 nm using rod-type single crystal as the gain medium and end pumped by diode directly into the emitting level.  相似文献

By simple extra-cavity frequency conversion, the performance of a diode single-end-pumped AO Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/KTP/BBO 266 nm laser was demonstrated. Under the incident pump power of 14.32 W, the maximum average output power at 266 nm was 374 mW at the repetition of 20 kHz; the opticaloptical conversion efficiency was 2.6%. The corresponding pulse width was 5 ns, with the single-pulse energy and peak power calculated to be 18.7 μJ and 3.74 kW, respectively. The dependence of the operational parameters on the pump power was also investigated experimentally.  相似文献

Blue laser is obtained by using a doubly folded cavity, type-II critical phase matching KTP (KTiOPO4) crystal sum-frequency mixing. With total pump power of 33 W (13.8 W pump power for 1080 nm Nd:CaYAlO4 laser and 19.2 W pump power for 912 nm Nd:GdVO4 laser), TEM00 mode blue laser at 494.5 nm of 1.6 W is obtained. The power stability in 30 min is better than 3.5%.  相似文献

Passive mode locking of a solid-state Nd:GdVO4 laser is demonstrated. The laser is mode locked by use of a semiconductor absorber mirror (SAM). A low Nd3+ doped Nd:GdVO4 crystal is used to mitigate the thermal lens effect of the laser crystal at a high pump power. The maximum average output power is up to 6.5 W, and the pulse duration is as short as 6.2 ps. The optic-to-optic conversion efficiency is 32.5% and the repetition rate is about 110 MHz.  相似文献

Novel grown-together Nd:GdVO4/GdVO4 composite crystals were presented for the first time, which would be longitudinally pumped by 808 nm diode-laser to efficiently operate on continuous-wave (CW) 912 nm laser at room temperature. The maximum output power of 8.15 W at 912 nm laser was obtained successfully at the absorbed pump power of 28.0 W, giving the corresponding optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 29.1% and the average slope-efficiency of 44.2%. Comparative experimental results show that the laser performance was influenced significantly by the Nd3+-doped concentration of the crystals, which would be optimized according to its energy-transfer upconversion (ETU) spectrum.  相似文献

We describe the output performances of the 928 nm 4 F 3/24 I 9/2 transition in Nd:CLNGG under diode-laser pumping. An end-pumped Nd:CLNGG crystal yielded 1.3 W of continuous-wave output power for 17.8 W of absorbed pump power. The slope efficiency with respect to the absorbed pump power was 11.2%. Furthermore, with 17.8 W of diode pump power and the frequency-doubling crystal LiB3O5 (LBO), a maximum output power of 260 mW in the blue spectral range at 464 nm has been achieved. The blue output power stability over 4 h is better than 3.2%.  相似文献

Thermal effect of laser crystal is a very important factor for solid lasers. The most of heat is generated from the quantum loss between pump light and lasing light. If a longer wavelength of pump light is adopted, quantum loss and quantum loss efficiency can be reduced and improved, respectively. In this paper, a Nd:YVO4 laser end-pumped by 887 nm LD is reported. Output power of 25 W is obtained from a single Nd:YVO4, when the crystal absorbs pump light power of 38 W. The corresponding opto-optic conversion efficiency is up to 65.7%. When 30.7 W pump light is absorbed in the crystal, 19.4 W TEM00 is obtained with M x 2 = 1.30, M y 2 = 1.26 and opto-optic conversion efficiency of 63.2%. The laser can work at the Q-switched mode. The uniform pulses are generated at high repetition of 100 kHz. And the conditions of pulse stability are analyzed in this paper.  相似文献
